As Chirai fell, Bulma could not keep the manic smile from her face. The chaos seed definitely took its toll on her as well, though it was not seeing the girl succumb to her, Bulma knew she hadn’t, or the pain that seemed to come with it. No, she and the seed had better instincts than that. The wild snapping and crunching of bones was paired with a rise in power. The transformation was chaotic in itself, twisting the girl around until she became something greater. Who cared about a cost in pain? Who cared about a loss of control when power was before you?
Bulma would have found it beautiful normally, but with the chaos seed unleashed she found it absolutely delightful. She was truly excited for the first time in this battle, readying herself for a dangerous amount of pain and suffering the girl would try and bring her. The battle had truly started now which meant Bulma could unleash herself as well.
She held back though, for just a little while longer. She crushed down the power that was begging to be let free. She wanted to feel the girl’s strength in this form. She wanted to feel the pressure of her ki in its newest state. She wanted to face the beast.
And what a beast it was. The small alien girl had rose up to be almost a foot taller than Bulma, her mass stretching out into bulky supremacy. It was a wolf, and Bulma let her gaze shift to the moon for just a moment before her gaze fell back on the were-girl.
She had met a werewolf once, a long time ago, in what felt like a previous life. Earth was a mixing pot that gave home to so many odd creatures: demons, talking pigs, daemons, animals that could transform at will, dinosaurs, talking dinosaurs, other beast people, slug people, and of course werewolves were not left out. Still, the man she met was so suiting to Earth. Despite his frightening power and abilities, he was timid and quiet, trying to take up as little space as possible. He was nothing like the girl in front of her, and Bulma’s scientific mind rushed through data and possibilities, an itch to study the girl more intensely, to put her through certain experiments...
Well, she had the opportunity to perform some right now.
Fire rushed out at her, the intensity much more extreme in comparison to Chirai’s earlier flame. She couldn’t feel the pain of her injuries but she knew they were there. Bruises from the repetitive strikes to her arm, a weakness in her claw, and more importantly to this specific scenario: burns on her leg and hand. She should act more weary to this new empowered flame but the chaos seed argued, beckoning it. The most she could manage against its tantalizing lure was to jump back and raise her guard so only the weaker flames at the end of the blast licked at her.
The chaos seed licked back.
But Chirai was on the move, rushing forward and sending a dangerous ring of ki her way. The horseshoe hit the pole, but not the one Chirai intended. It rung around Bulma’s staff instead, as the scientist caught it eagerly in another spin, making sure its speed would not slow. Rather than contract it grew like pizza dough and Bulma sent it back big enough to shrink instead around the much larger wolf, if Chirai did not escape it.
The counter maneuver wasn’t quick enough to stop Chirai’s steam like ki to release once more. It got into Bulma’s already annoyed eyes and she was forced to close them tight. No attack came however. Instead the girl had once more chosen to hide. This time Bulma felt like prey. She couldn’t see or sense the wolf, but she knew it was there, prowling, waiting for the right chance to attack its weaker target.
Well, that wouldn’t do.
She let out a soft sigh of relief as she released it. The pressure had been building and building as the battle went on, almost reaching its limit when Chirai transformed, but now the seal broke. There was no fabulous transformation or sudden explosion of aura. No, Chirai would remember Yan in this instance, where he had simply breathed out power. Bulma was half his strength, an almost even match for the wolf Chirai, but there was no strain in it, no extra effort needed. Instead, Bulma felt freer, and lighter, and faster.
Her eyes opened. One had returned to its soft blue, but the other glowed red now, as if searching for the girl through other ways. Whether she could find the girl or not however, her smile grew a little more manic as she decided upon another idea. It was similar to the first. If the smoke would not clear, she would make it.
With an effortless kick off the ground Bulma rose above the mist seeing the moon clearly once more. Chirai was still hidden inside the fog’s thickness, but it was no matter. Bulma’s power level grew again, this time with a constricting pressure about it, then Bulma pushed both hands forward. A beam erupted from her palms, soaring down towards the very center of the arena. Unless stopped it with pierce right through the stone, but it would not go very deep. Instead it exploded like a highly dangerous bomb. The ground shot upwards against the force of the explosion, sending anything upon it skyward, and the oxygen in the stadium was eaten away by fire.
The arena had faced many, many, strong fighters. While gravity wasn’t quite on its list of things to defend against back in the tournament, it did have shielding technology to protect the building even if it cared little about the people. Still, even these shields screeched in protest as the power rippled through taking chunks out of the stands and stone pillars.
Bulma expected Chirai to put up a guard again. Something as powerful as the last one to keep her completely shielded from the explosions warpath, but she didn’t care. It was simply another test of what Chirai could and could not withstand.
While the dust and debris lingered, the dense ki smoke was gone and Bulma could see the girl, or felt she could. Pointing her staff at Chirai once more, another smaller explosion rocked against her chest, building up even more rapidly than before. In an incredibly fast movement she lifted up the staff and then released it, her hands stretching out. As if mimicking her, walls of energy immediately appeared on either side of the wolf. A clap sounded almost instantly, Bulma’s hands catching the staff once more as if it were Chirai, and in that swift movement the walls rushed just as quickly and curved in an attempt to capture her in a ball similar to the barrier she formed in protection.
If trapped, the scientist would shoot downward with the force of ki and gravity to swing her staff into it like a bat in order to send the ball crashing into the wrecked arena.
