Ever since his first meeting with Rhin something had felt off to Burter. An entire squad of recruits - slaughtered by an unusually well-planned ice wolf ambush - and the guy left the battlefield with nary a scratch on his hide. That sort of thing just didn't happen, at least not in his experience. It was with this suspicion that the Na'vadian had followed the newly-crowned Grunt to an out-of-the-way planet named DeKalb.
"Where are you going?" he asked himself of the Grunt. With the press of a button he scanned the planet for anything out of the ordinary and, to his surprise, there was a collection of high energy signatures gathered in a single place, three of them in fact. With another, more in-depth visual scan of the immediate area he actually detected four people and by the looks of things they were in a heated battle.
Lo and behold, Rhin's ship was heading straight for the sight of the battle. If he had his doubts before, they were vanquished then. No Grunt in his right mind would head for a battle of that magnitude. There was enough power on site to make even his forehead sweat, not that he didn't enjoy working up a good perspiration. "Well, guess I'm going to have to get closer."
Going into a situation like this without letting someone know of your whereabouts was never the most solid of plans, but for once when Burter pressed the com button on his scouter it wasn't for his own security. "Jeice, I'm about to land on the planet DeKalb. Something is going down and I want to know what. Something big."
There was a beep as his buddy responded. "I understand. What do you want me to do? Can I be of any help?"
"Nah. These cats even got me outclassed I think. Best you don't get too involved. I'm picking up a distress signal from DeKalb's population. I'm sure it's linked to the battle. For once I wouldn't mind playing the good guy, ya know?"
Burter heard a chuckle at the other end of the line. "I feel you on that. What did you have in mind?"
"If you could pull some strings and get an emergency fleet together to protect the general populace - maybe even evacuate them if needed - that would be appreciated. There are some big wigs here. A stray blast could blow this bitch up, ya dig?"
"I'll see what I can do. Watch yourself out there."
"Thanks brodie, see ya when I see ya."
There was another click as the channel was closed. He was on his own again - just the way he liked it. Pushing his ship's control stick forward he throttled up, moving into the planet's atmosphere. The pod Rhin had stolen before leaving Frieza stopped in mid-air about a half-mile off of the ground, hovering right over the scene of the battle. Releasing a hiss of air the hatch opened and, after leaning out for a moment, the Grunt dove out.
As Burter watched the soldier falling he had the first true surprise of the day when Rhin's body molted into some kind of grey liquid and headed straight for the one fighter that he couldn't detect any power reading from. Finally his curiosity overcame his apprehension. It was time to see what exactly was going on here.

The scars of battle were always deep and lasting. Even the most superficial wounds could incite pain that would betray the cause, and that was the most terrifying thing. This battle had been short-lived but the havoc wrecked at the base of the World Tree has been great with some of the ground burnt charred of the living flora. A blackened circle near the base of the tree indicated where the dark blade had been thrust into the ground and began to spread its corruption through the planet.
All was calm, now. Those who had attempted to intervene had shown their true colors of cowardice and fled, while the sole reason the Celestial had come to the planet managed to escape through her fingertips. She was frustrated.
Lilly could sense the World Tree had staved off her corruption and nearly defeated it, at this point. There was little point in allowing even the slightest fraction of her power to go to waste, so she bent to one knee and pressed her open palm against the surface of the world. In that quick instant, she withdrew whatever remaining bits of her power still resided back into her form.
Would the Tree heal itself? The woman's crimson eyes traveled to the base of the gigantic trunk before stopping at a large gash in the flesh that she hadn’t explicitly remembered creating, though with the considerable chaos that transpired near the tail end of the battle it was not a matter for worry. A cool breeze swept over the woman to caress her bare shoulders and sent the tattered cloth flapping around her legs. Whatever brief moment of peace she had found was interrupted by the commotion stirring behind her.
Lilly had demanded the Ninja to flee and to remember who had spared him. She wanted him to be a messenger and to showcase both her own power and that of the Cosmic Empire. For an instance like this to never happen again, lest the perpetrator suffers swift retribution. Burter, the tall blue-skinned alien, had other plans. He wanted a ‘prisoner’ and to ‘interrogate’ the Ninja.
“What is a prisoner and why do we need one?” Lilly finally demanded as she turned her attention away from the large tree and walked over toward the pair as they shuffled through some sort of exchange. Her crimson eyes glanced over at Daji for a moment, then set on the blue alien.
“I have more important things to accomplish here and he,” she placed emphasis by pointing a singular digit at the Ninja. “Has nothing to do with them,”

"Thanks brodie, see ya when I see ya."
Jeice touched the side of his scouter, terminating the com-link with Burter. His friend had been through plenty of tough battles; overcome the odds on many an occasion. He'd never been one to be afraid of jumping into the thick of things even if it looked like a bad idea. That was where the Zoteran and he made a good team. One of them was headstrong and the other preferred to assess every situation - but both were wicked smart when it came to combat.
When two soldiers form such a dynamic duo, they come to know each other better than most people could imagine. Get a feel for each other's emotions and thoughts, sometimes able to read each other by details more minute than the tone of their voices. Although Burter sounded like his normal, hot-headed and cheerful self, Jeice heard something else in his friend's words.
"I'm not sure how I feel about all of this..." the Zoteran said, sighing. Turning in her chair, his pilot looked him in the eye.
"Yes, you are," Kira responded as bluntly as ever. The crew of the PTS Aurora were a close-knit bunch, but no one threw rank out of the window as much as the galactically renown pilot. She never failed to speak her mind regardless of the fact that Jeice was her captain.
"Okay, fine. I don't like it for a couple of reasons. Burter has never asked for PTO reinforcements. Never. He's also never told me to stay out of a battle - and especially never admitted that an enemy might be over his own head," the Zoteran continued, clenching his fists. Though the Na'vadian would never say it so plainly, he must have been getting himself into some serious trouble.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Kira asked plainly.
Jeice took a deep breath and blew it out of his nose. "Damn it, Kira. Call in an emergency evacuation fleet. For clearance use call-sign Hotel-Echo-Lima-Papa-November-India-Golf-Golf-Alpha. After that get this rust bucket to DeKalb immediately. I'm going in." With the ship and crew left in his pilot's capable hands, the Zoteran touched two fingers to his forehead and tried to sense his best friend's life source. When he located it he teleported to it, appearing next to a tightly bound man.
Within seconds he'd taken in the scene. There was the man at his feet, bound and apparently unconscious and a good-looking woman with blond hair and piercing eyes a few feet away. To his right he saw Burter sprinting towards a dark swirling mass, a dangerous looking spear in his hand.

Ivy climbed the thick trunks of mossy trees in the impressively dense forest. One particular tree towered over the rest stretching its limbs to the heavens in search of sunlight.
From atop that massive tree a single figure loomed like a gargoyle over it all. A grotesque cloak covered him, the long upper mandible of the werewolf it once belonged too hung in front of his face. A single, glowing red eye peered from behind the yellow canine teeth of the hood, and even with one eye he could see through the deceptively vibrant foliage-- ‘Dekalb is dying…’
He rose from a kneeling position to his full height. The branch below his feet creaked in protest but held strong. The wind gusted ceaselessly up here and ruffled the matted fur of his cloak. He adjusted the pelt so the hood wouldn’t be caught in the gusts, sniffing at the wind like a jungle cat. He exhaled with a pleased sigh. ‘Perfect.’
The Cosmic Emperor purred deep in his throat as he surveyed the landscape from his perch. A Cosmic Empire loyalist, Lilly, had arrived to the world not long ago bringing the gift of death to the world. She came to the planet with her own reasons in mind, but Chaos fully supported her actions. After all, his failure against Beerus had taught him that destruction was the one thing that binds us all, the inevitability of the void. That, and he looked at it now as a way of destroying the gods’ toys. That thought brought a wicked, toothy smile to his shadow covered face.
Lilly and a lone defender of Dekalb had been putting on quite a show in the distance. Though he did not watch with his eyes, he felt every action with his keen senses. Things were going well. Until…
“What?” he blurted out loud to the silent trees.
A new presence had burst on the scene and shattered the barrier around the fight. Goose pimples crawled up the exposed white flesh of his arms. This energy signature was familiar, but different now...heavy with divinity somehow. But why? What business did his old comrade, Tarble, have on Dekalb? Beneath the cloak the dark black ooze of the God Slayer symbiote stung him. He rubbed the area gently as it relented. “Shhhhh,” he hushed while petting the inter dimensional monstrosity.
His eyes focused on the light show visible just at the horizon line. Could it be that Tarble had arrived to ensure victory for the Cosmic Empire? Or did he have some other agenda that eluded the Emperor? His brows furrowed as his mind ran through hundreds of possibilities. His concentration was shattered by the presence of two more intruders.
“…Fuck...” he muttered to himself.
What the hell was going on? The situation was degrading fast and his heartbeat quickened in time, trying to figure out through sheer perception who was attacking who. Surely Tarble and Lilly were going to be representing the Cosmic Empire, delivering the judgement of destruction, as the other three try to stave them off. ‘No, that’s not right. Lilly and somebody else--- Tarble is attacking? What the hell is happening over there?’
A low growl escaped him. It was only then that he realized he knew the other Ki signature traveling with Tarble but he dismissed the information as irrelevant. Whatever was going on now required his immediate attention. He thanked his foresight in deciding to remain nearby to oversee the planet’s destruction. What had turned into a fun sightseeing vacation with some live combat he devolved into something much, much more complicated.
He did not have the luxury of a long drawn out assessment so he wasted no time summoning the primordial energy Azazel had bestowed upon him. Indigo and crimson fire exploded around his body and seared the treetops.
Specks of the primordial ki swirled along the maelstrom of his own dark power. Pale skin flaked away from his arms and face revealing pure black energy underneath. It all took but a few milliseconds and his aura calmed from a wild tornado to a calm triple helix pattern. What was visible of his body from under the werewolf pelt was now completely black with an ultraviolet glow at the edges and totally amorphous, practically erasing the barrier between his body and his power.
Without thinking, he instinctively conjured six mystical orbs that would be invisible to all but the most perceptive beings. His chest heaved with a calming breath. His eyes closed. He vanished in a flash of indigo luminescence.
When his eyes opened he was there, in the midst of the conflict. Though the intense shift in temperature caught him first he accumulated almost instantly and glanced around the battlefield.
But what he found was-
“--nothing?”
Tarble was gone, but the stink of his betrayal was still fresh upon the air.
His dark eyes snapped over to Lilly.
“What happened here? Did you get the gauntlets?” His voice was cold, deadly serious.
Hundreds of questions raced between his ears but he managed to turn his attention to the other two men still there. “You,” he said while motioning to the captive Daji, “what the hell are you doing here?”
He stepped towards the shinobi, ignoring the presence of the towering blue xeno for the time being. With each step the flames around him dissipated until his appearance returned to normal. He stopped inches from Daji’s face and met his eyes.
“Choose your next words very carefully,” he growled. -------------------------------------------- Chaos WC: 980/980 Total WC: 2,423

So here he was--bound by some really tight straps around his arms and hands, laying on the ground and groaning in pain. That last hit had really done a number on him, with its speed and ferocity, but he was far from unconscious--he was just recoiling a little and trying to recover after getting hit again by that massive, blue-skinned alien, but even now, his spirit-energy was retreating from this place towards an even stronger energy. That... felt like Azazel, if Daji's memory served him right. He was not really sure why Azazel was here, but there seemed to be a lot of confusion to go around at the moment.
Another energy presence joined them, this time a red-skinned person, though the woman seemed oddly comfortable with all of this, asking what a prisoner was, why they needed one, and that the Kitsune had nothing to do with what was going on in this instance. Face-first in the dirt, all the ninja-garbed Fox could muffle out was something along the lines of "apologies for the inconvenience" before he was able to flip on his back and take a breath of fresh air before promptly groaning in pain again.
"For real this time--last time I leap before I look..." he chastised himself with another groan as he managed to sit up, arms still pinned behind his back due to the bonds around his torso--and by that point, another individual appeared with the group. This signature was a little less familiar, but Daji remembered it from his precious meeting with the man--
Hayami's father, the Cosmic Emperor, and Daji's soon-to-be father-in-law! The Kitsune's ears perked up as he smiled up at the imposing man, his tail swaying rather happily at the meeting. Last time they had met, Chaos had given him a weird drink that made his head feel all floaty. "Hello, father-in-law!" he said cheerfully, though his voice was a little strained due to his modest injuries and his predicament.
Of course, Chaos was a little stern with the Fox, probably due to his presence on this planet and participation in that conflict that had more-or-less resolved just now, but Daji tried to roll with the proverbial blows like his mentor always did. "I sensed a lot of powerful spirit energies here and decided to investigate. I can't really sense her though," he said, pointing his head towards the blond-haired woman before bowing his head to her.
"My name is Daji, by the way--I am betrothed to Chaos' daughter, Hayami!" he said, explaining the relationship with Chaos before looking back towards the Cosmic Emperor. "Would you believe me if I said I was just here to observe what was going on? That was why I came--I wanted to find out what was going on. And then a couple of my friends decided to attack, so I figured they would need some help--but then something happened and they left. I hope they're okay," he said before leaning back and flipping up onto his feet while his arms were still bound behind him. He looked towards the red-skinned alien.
"Are these really necessary...?"

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet DeKalb boasted a beauty few planets in the galaxy could match. In addition to that Dende caught sight of several unknown types of plantlife. There wasn’t enough time to study each one but he made a mental note to check into it later. For now he needed to seek out the Cosmic Emperor and figure out why he was here. The last thing he wanted was for his tardiness to be taken as desertion. In most situations he would have simply sought out the Emperor’s profound power. The only problem with that was Dende’s ability to sense ki was adversely affected by his unstable power. He could register large sources of ki but couldn’t distinguish them yet. It was painfully obvious that some major fighting was going down somewhere far away. It took a whole two seconds for the young healer to decide to avoid that part of the world. Getting caught in the crossfire wasn’t high on his list of priorities. Of the two clashing powers Dende could at least discern that the Emperor wasn’t involved. At least he wasn’t directly involved or so Dende hoped. Combat wasn’t his forte. With little recourse the only option available was to seek out the nearest settlement. If Dende had to use one word to describe the Emperor inconspicuous was not chief among them. If he truly was on DeKalb then someone must have seen him. Eye witnesses tended to talk and talk meant rumors. Where better than a settlement to hear such rumors? Simply wandering aimlessly wouldn’t get either of them anywhere so the young healer motioned for Guldo to follow and he took off into the air. There was a river nearby that ran towards the north. If there was a settlement nearby then it was a reasonable assumption that it would be near a river. In an attempt to avoid drawing too much attention to himself Dende remained low to the ground and stuck close to the riverbank as he glanced at Guldo. There was so much he didn’t know about the man. Beyond one obviously poor life decision as evident by the emblem which signified Guldo was part of the Planet Trade Organization. Who was he to hold that against him though? Just because the organization was universally seen as bad it didn’t mean that all of its members were bad people. While it was sometimes to make such a distinction Dende planned to give Guldo a chance to prove himself. Several moments passed without a word as he stared. Then he simply looked back towards the horizon in an attempt to keep a watchful gaze out for any signs of civilization. “ Oh,” he said suddenly. Once his eyes focused he could just make out a walled settlement roughly the size of a small city. The river flowed right to the city and passed through a raised sluice gate. Presumably it exited out of a similar gate on the north wall. With a grin Dende pointed towards it. “ Perhaps we should land somewhere and approach on foot. We won’t want to alarm them by simply flying in.” Beyond the name of the planet’s name Dende knew next to nothing about it. After some observation a plan began to take shape. They were currently flying towards the southern wall of the city. To the east a small trail of dust rose up into the air. That is what Dende gestured towards. It was some manner of traffic that was headed towards the city’s east gate. From that distance it was impossible to tell if it was mechanized vehicles or carts drawn by beasts of burden. Dende suddenly veered to the right and angled away from the river. Until they found a suitable place to land he planned to keep as low as possible without risking injury. “ I don’t know how advanced their civilization is,” he called out without looking at Guldo. If they didn’t possess the required technology for space exploration the young healer desired to make as small of a footprint as possible. The last thing he wanted was to have a profound impact on their development. “ Let’s keep this low-key ok?” Finally he turned and fixed his rose-colored eyes on his companion. After getting Dende to agree to let him tag along, Guldo felt a great weight leave his shoulders. Finally he could relax and take in the planet around him, both with his eyes and with his senses. A few things stood out, almost immediately. Somewhere on the other side of the planet was a collection of powers even more impressive than the namekians. Some of them were so incredible that they sent shivers down the Galvan's spine.
Note to self: Avoid those guys.
Even after all his travels and years of military service, Guldo could still hardly believe that fighters of such a caliber existed. Sure, he'd never been much for actually training and perhaps hadn't been the most gifted physical combatant ever, but was that really enough to excuse the exorbitant powerlevels that he could feel on DeKalb? Finally, after shaking his head and leaving such thoughts for another time, he reached out with his mind, looking less for other energy signatures and more for other minds.
He was hit with a second astounding surprise. Whereas Guldo could feel the namekian's incredible energy with ease, he couldn't sense a single shred of thought from Dende's mind.
Surely he's not an android?
Even if that were possible - unlikely he thought - models as advanced as this one would have to be often gave off some form of cerebral activity. With Dende there was nothing. Just a black hole where the kid's entire existence should be. Guldo remained stumped until his unwitting protector glanced backwards, making eye contact. For just a moment the Galvan had a vision of the past - that namekian had been much older, but there was no doubt he had the same eyes. Guldo would remember those eyes anywhere.
That's impossible though... Namekian's don't have women - they can't have kids, can they?
Still racing through the possibilities in his head, Guldo looked again at his companion to see that Dende was speaking to him. He wanted to avoid setting off any red flags with their arrival in the town. That was reasonable - one never knew just how primitive these backwater planets could be.
"I'll follow your lead," the Galvan replied, nodding.
======================= Before Jeice could even figure out what exactly was going on he watched as Burter traded blows with a familiar looking man.
Is that... Azazel?
It had been some time since he'd met the demon prince, but there was no mistaking that dark presence and overwhelming power. While Jeice had all the confidence in the world in his friend, there were some battles that were over even Burter's head. This was one of them.
And yet...
He's holding his own. He's really on a whole new level.
While Jeice marveled at his ally's incredible strength, which had come along leaps and bounds quicker than his own, someone new arrived on the scene. The Zoteran sensed the new arrival behind him and when he turned he saw a man with his face inches from the hostage's. Here was yet another fighter with a powerlevel many times his own, fortunately he knew this one by name as well.
And so the Emperor arrives.
======================= Although his attention was fully on his very dangerous opponent, Burter couldn't help but notice the arrival of the Cosmic Emperor. Though he wasn't sure what business Chaos might have here, there was no mistaking that this had turned into quite the gathering of titans. He might have lagged behind the others, but Jeice was in dangerous company.
I have to find some way to tell the Emperor that Jeice is a friend. Maybe that'll buy me time to get him out of here...
The Na'vadian started to open his mouth to yell but before he could his opponent pulled some kind of trick and created an otherworldly barrier between those on the ground and themselves.
Fuck...
What had begun as an uphill battle of titanic proportions had, within seconds, devolved into a hollow victory of sorts. At Burter's feet laid the fox-faced ninja, unable to escape like the others. He was wrapped tightly in a rope of energy and although his eyes were closed Burter could hear his slow, steady breathing. His own lungs rose and fell rapidly after pushing his body to it's limits in preparation for an epic battle that hadn't come to be.
"So, someone's got some es'plainin to do," he said aloud, turning to face the blonde-haired woman. A flicker of movement in the corner of his eye betrayed Rhin's presence. "You didn't disappear after all, huh? I wanna know why you abandoned your post and made me chase you to the corner of the god-damned galaxy." He continued, turning his gaze to the Grunt soldier. Just as Rhin opened his mouth to answer, Burter felt something that shook him to his core.
"Wait - someone else is coming," the Na'vadian said, cutting the man off. He turned again, scanning the sky, but saw nothing. Whether or not he did though didn't matter, he could feel a new presence on its way. It's power wasn't necessarily as awe-inspiring as the guy that ran away, but it had a weight to it. The air around Burter seemed to begin to press in on him in a way he wouldn't have been able to accurately describe. Whatever was coming, it wasn't something to be taken lightly.
There was a point - a few dozen meters in front of him - that a swirling darkness appeared to be gathering at. That also seemed to be the direction from which the anti-gravity effect was emanating from. Moving on a hunch, he darted forward, swinging his arm in a wide arch as he did. From thin air a long steel haft materialized in his hand. At the end of the haft sat a spearhead of obsidian. The razor-sharp volcanic glass cut through the air towards the gathering shadows.
Just as he'd predicted, a figure stepped out of the darkness just as his spear point reached it. He'd hoped to get the jump on whoever was arriving and end things quickly, before they got messy. It looked, if only for a moment, like he was going to pull that off. And then the blade of his spear met the newcomer's shoulder and stopped. It didn't cut through to the bone, sever any limbs or indeed even draw blood.
The man spoke, his words alone like slaps to the Na'vadian's face - and then backed away. The man unleashed his energies, tearing the ground below them to pieces under the sheer pressure of his power. Burter was forced to shield his eyes from the debris. Though he obscured his own vision, a weird prick at the back of his mind made him roll to the side. He was rewarded with the sight of his new opponent's fist slicing through the air where he'd stood only a moment before.
Not to be denied, the warrior rose into the sky and rained pure hellfire down upon those below him. Burter's eyes shot over to where his captive and the blonde-haired woman were. They were going to have to deal with this on their own, somehow. To his stunned surprise, Jeice had appeared in their vicinity as well.
"Fucking... fuck!" the Brute roared, throwing himself forward with all the speed he could muster. Energy blasts slammed into the ground around him, throwing debris upwards and, painfully, against his body. Still he pushed forward until he'd reached his friend. Jeice was a tough soldier, but while he'd learned to also become a good one, Burter had reached a whole new level of strength. And even with that, he knew that this new arrival was something else entirely.
Like a savior of sorts, Burter hovered over the trio on the ground, his teeth clenched as energy blasts hammered his body. Each blow rocked him, but the Na'vadian held strong. Finally he heard his foe speak again but before Burter could turn to face him the warrior flickered into existence in front of him. Two fists snaked out, driving the wind from his lungs with ease. Before he could find any relief Burter found himself pulled downwards into the monster's knee, forcing him to cough up blood on the first strike. Though the second one landed, the Brute had begun to get himself ready for a counter.
When his opponent reared back for an elbow smash, Burter side-stepped and danced backwards in mid-air. He'd dropped it during his mad dash to protect Jeice, but his trusty spear materialized into his hand again when he held it out. He wiped blood from his chin with his free hand and grinned, showing off his snake-like fangs. "This is gonna be one for the ages, huh bub?" he said. He shot a glance at his friend below. "Get yourself out of here, Jeice. I aint askin."
"The name's Burter. I'll have to catch yours at some point, if we get that far."
Still grinning he shot forward, first stabbing his spear and then swinging it over head before bringing its obsidian blade straight down atop the fighter's head.
Burter's attack was rewarded with the grating, almost jarring feeling of his spear tip scratched a jagged line on the surface of his opponent's armor. He hoped for something more satisfying from the rest of his combo but again he was disappointed. This time, instead of a disheartening result, he got two slaps to the face and an uppercut to the chin that sent him flipping through the air. Though the blows more than stung, the warrior was able to land upright on both feet a few yards away. His foe's fists glowed with the energy of a pair of punches that his momentum had fortunately carried him away from.
To his surprise, his foe claimed to have heard his name before giving his own.
Azazel, huh? Well I'm about to kick his Az...azel.
With his trademark toothy smirk, the Na'vadian threw himself forward again. When he did though, Azazel responded by vomiting a fiery inferno between them. Burter paid the flames little mind though, allowing the energy barrier that sprang up around him to take the full brunt of the attack. In the ensuing smokescreen the soldier found himself inches from his opponent and instinctually he'd already drawn a small grenade and a syringe from his side.
"This should slow you down some," he muttered quickly, flicking the electronic grenade against Azazel's body. It would, with any luck, even the odds against the faster combatant. "And now I think I'll use this!" he yelled, plunging the syringe into his own thigh before tossing it aside. Pushing backwards so that his own attack didn't hurt him, Burter held his hands up. An array of blue lights shined from his palms before a large orb of pure energy grew to life in either one.
"Catch these, Azazel!" he yelled, firing both of the energy blasts. Out of the corner of his eye the Na'vadian now noticed another new arrival on the scene. Shockingly, it was Emperor Chaos, whom he'd only just recently met in the astral realm.
Could this get any weirder?
Burter gritted his teeth, refocusing on his own battle. He could only hope that the Cosmic Emperor wouldn't see reason to cause any harm to Jeice. He'd have to trust that the Zoteran could handle his words well and with care, because Chaos was not someone he wanted as an enemy.
Fuck...
The barrier that Azazel raised seemed unlike any that Burter had seen before. It was greater than any of the incredible shields he'd seen used to protect the more vital PTO bases and that was saying something. He stared at it, looking for a moment for any sort of gap or weakness, but was brought back to more pressing matters by the sound of Azazel's voice.
His eyes widened as he laid them on the warrior's hand - there he'd collected a small mass of highly concentrated energy. The Na'vadian could feel the pulsating rhythm of the ki orb even from his distance. Knowing he couldn't survive such an attack head on, Burter did as Jeice would and went for his trump card. As Azazel unleashed his energy he pulled a sack of marble-like metal beads from his belt and poured them into his hand. When tossed into the air the beads spread out around him, stopping at an almost predetermined point in mid air.
Though a massive amount of volatile energy filled the air around him, Burter remained unharmed inside of the beads. Flames rushed past his body but were either absorbed or reflected to the side by the invisible strands of energy connecting the beads to each other. When finally the danger had subsided the Brute held his hand out; the beads came back together and fell into a pile in his hand.
"It looks like we both like our tricks, heh," Burter commented with a grin as he placed the beads back inside the pouch. "I reckon the million-dollar-question is, who's gonna run out of 'em first?" Though he talked a good game, he knew that his well was running low. Eventually the stark contrast in power would begin to wear on him heavily, and once that dam broke there was no putting the water back in. It would be the beginning of the end and Azazel didn't strike him as the type to spare a life.
"Here's some more for you," he said, suddenly throwing his arm out. A pair of bolas formed of pure energy whipped through the air, aiming for Azazel's legs. Hoping to have slowed the demon down Burter clenched his teeth and opened up the floodgates between himself and his reserves. There was no point in holding back now. It was kill or be killed, as far as he was concerned.
With a translucent blue aura coating his body he clapped his hands together. When he spread them again an elastic-like material had formed between them, clenched at both ends by his fists. A small 'pop' could be heard as he teleported behind Azazel and threw the elastic material at his opponent's neck. Immediately he held his hand out, once again calling on his trusty black-tipped spear, and aimed to run his opponent through at the spine.
Knowing he couldn't survive such an attack head on, Burter prepared, as any confident speedster would, to dodge it. As Azazel unleashed his energy he shot like a rocket straight into the sky. He had a feeling that the amount of destruction Azazel was about to cause was going to be enough to fill the area they were in, so he rushed into the sky so quickly that he appeared to teleport there. A wave of heat rushed past his body but he kept moving until he was sure he'd managed to avoid any serious injury. When he turned he gasped. The forest below him had been decimated - reduced to smoldering heaps. Even the roots of the World Tree were badly scorched.
"This guy... is on a whole nother level," Burter commented with a sigh. Though he would fight until the end, he knew he couldn't last forever. It was only a matter of time before his opponent hit him with an attack like that last one and when that happened... Eventually the stark contrast in power would begin to wear on him heavily, and once that dam broke there was no putting the water back in. It would be the beginning of the end and Azazel didn't strike him as the type to spare a life.
"I'm not done," he said, suddenly racing towards his foe. His spear lashed out once again, the razor-like obsidian looking for any kind of flesh it could find to sink its teeth into. Burter then threw his body to the side before flying in a circle around Azazel. He put on a show worthy of his nickname, moving so quickly around his foe that there appeared to be a circle of blue surrounding the demonic fighter. "Let me show you why they call me the Blue Hurricane!"
Just when Burter felt sure that he'd trapped his opponent in his whirlwind of energy Azazel managed to pull out another powerplay, fighting against the tornado with his own surge of energy. Though there was a momentary power struggle the result was basically inevitable. Thrown off course, Burter flipped head-over-heels through the air before stabilizing himself just in time to see the demonic warrior finish his very dramatic wardrobe change and then raised a hand brimming with energy.
Beginning to accept his fate, the Na'vadian closed his eyes - until he heard the Cosmic Emperor's name mentioned. Eyes opening wide he tried to yell out, only to realize that he was very much about to die if he didn't do something, and quick. Once again up against a wall, the Blue Hurricane fell back on the only thing he was sure about in this world - his speed - pouring it on towards the top of the barrier with everything he had.
As he neared the outer edge of the magical barrier the heat at his back made it clear that his wasn't going to make it. Doing something that he had decided awhile back that he wasn't going to do, he called upon the mysterious powers of his ring. A black hole, rimmed by fiery red flames, opened almost instantly straight ahead. With one final push and no time to consider his actions, Burter hit the portal. The instant he cleared the portal's threshold he was rewarded with the feeling of fire on his ass subsiding.
He turned around to see that he'd somehow teleported to the other side of the barrier, and surprisingly that the barrier was also dropping before his eyes. "Time to see what's really going on here..." the soldier muttered, heading towards the group of titans that somehow included Jeice.

His glowing red eyes bore a hot hole through the captive shinobi. He searched Daji’s eyes as he spoke, so intently caught up in the summary he was completely unaware of the conflict that had sparked up just a few yards away. Chaos’ brow knitted together tightly at the mention of Hayami.
“You don’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation you find yourself in. Those restraints will remain until you tell me what I want to know about your ‘friends,’" he said sternly.
He straightened up and glanced at the others. His dark eyes narrowed. ‘An odd bunch. Hm...I swore I sensed Burter here as well.’
As he glanced over his shoulder he was greeted by an eye wrenching sight. Something like a sphere was there. Massive, rivaling the World Tree itself, it was similar to the one Tarble had broken through yet as different as a sphere is to a circle. It was, quite literally, dimensions greater than the one Lilly had utilized. It was unnatural, impossible. It was---
‘--Azazel?’
More confusion, more questions. But with those questions came at least on realization: Burter was going to die.
“Shit…” he hissed under his breath. Right now, every soldier was a valuable commodity. Watching Burter, trapped with the primordial entity in some incorporeal cage, Chaos knew he was perhaps moments from losing one of those commodities.
What was supposed to be a simple smash and grab mission had turned into a complete shit storm. His eyes closed as he rubbed the side of his head with his fingertips. Before Quasar, before so much of the Empire perished or deserted him, Burter’s life likely wouldn’t have been worth the trouble. Now, with even the Oath Empire’s position in question, he needed every able bodied, like minded individual he could get. In their brief meeting the blue xeno had come across as sincere, fiercely loyal, and most importantly hungry.
With his eyes still closed he took in a calming breath and reached out to the great demon.
‘Please don’t break my toys. I still need that one,' he said telepathically. It was simple, playful even, but he believed Azazel would get his meaning.
Slowly his eyes opened, glowing red gracing the world with their splendor. Soil crunched beneath his wooden sandals as he turned to face Lilly.
“The gauntlets are still a priority, but I want to know more about what happened here first. And I want to hear it," he said, spinning around and kneeling to stare into Daji’s eyes, “from you." -------------------------------------------- Chaos WC: 461/1,431 Total WC: 4,756

Spiraling clouds whistled in the wind as the thunderous bolts of lighting struck the disturbed ocean waters with booming crackles. The waves rushed over each other in overwhelming bursts that towered to the heavens while forcefully submerging the shattered, crumbling continent under its weight. The massive saiyan looked on from overhead as the land that he ruined lie in rubble beneath him, slowly breaking apart and drifting away from itself. The repeating circular trenches indented in the sinking soil spread slowly until all that remained in the very center was the beaten, unrecognizable body of a decimated human boy. His face was raw, fresh flesh exposed to the waves that rocked his body up and down.
The skin of the child’s face had been peeled off with inhumane mercilessness, and was now unceremoniously stitched over the saiyans own face in a mocking display. It was a rather silly idea that originated from the ever-present demon, but after all the trouble this boy had put Broly through he had no objections. He brought a finger to his chin and picked at the extra layer and stretched until it snapped back, tickling his skin.
The scene was fresh in his mind and repeating behind sealed eyelids as his behemoth hovered in the orbit of the home of the Tree of Life. The planet was relatively unknown to him, but the stories had been shared and a peak at the attraction was hard to pass up. The violent fiend was just over his shoulder, looking down on the globe with interest.
“My my, now that is impressive,” he said mysteriously breaking the quiet. Broly didn’t budge but scrunched his eyebrows in mild confusion as the seconds passed, still unwilling to bite on the devil jester’s game. It took almost a full minute of silence until the dense ki reached him.
Then he felt it. The heavy shift in energies that Janemba spoke of, that made the hairs on Broly’s folded arms stand tall. There was some sort of friction of Dekalb, and it seemed like he arrived just in time.
Without a second thought Broly vanished, speeding toward the commotion and spiking power levels. As he breached the atmosphere and plopped into the skies of Dekalb, the immense pressure pressed down on his skin like crutching weights. He stressed to turn his head left to right as he spotted the cause. A pitch black figure of darkness was high above him, taking aim at a tall yet slender teal colored mortal, each one flexing their might. Broly grimaced in pain as he grabbed at his side, still bearing the effects of his heavy ki exhaustion on planet earth just days before. He was nowhere near one hundred percent and it was obvious that he had better steer clear of the conflict.
The intrusive demon flickered into existence with an abruptness that startled Broly out of his own mind.
“I like that one,” he said looking toward the skies, placing a hand of the saiyans shoulder with a stern tone as the stranger ignited a sheet of ki that domed over the planets surface like a bubble. As the density of the energy among the sky rose, the saiyan was forced to make his decision. Stay up high and possibly deal with that force, or withdraw to the pavement and scout for some sort of intel. A girthy hand swatted away the demons wrist before he disappeared, relocated below the layer of ki that seemed to dispel the energy.
He manifested about fifteen yards behind what immediately came off as the most random mashup of beings he could think of. Some familiar faces were before him, and none anymore expected than the last. They included the blonde shaman telepath who had taken him for quite the ride back on planet mortoseth, a red skinned alien whom he had somehow managed to battle alongside and against already, and the Cosmic Emperor Chaos himself.
The unrecognizable was a shackled young prisoner who rolled over his sides trying to stand. As he straightened upright Broly noticed the man had a tail sprouting from his backside. The brute grunted to himself under his breath. Doesn’t seem to be saiyan, he noted with annoyance as the stranger plead his case to the emperor.
Father-in-law? he muttered under his breath. He didn’t strike me as a family oriented man, Broly reminisced. The plot grew thicker and thicker…
“Hey! Funny to see y’all here, who called for the light show?” he strolled forward snickering loudly with a wide grin, more than likely gathering the attention of the group. Broly’s chest rose with a deep breath as he rolled his eyes.
“Well there goes the element of surprise,” he sighed as his gaze lingered over each person one by one. The alien made him drop his head to the side slightly in curious thought, while the woman got a nasty side eye from him. The captive received a hard state, then Broly’s jaw tightened as his eyes rose toward Chaos, the man who once took his life. This wasn’t at all the gathering he’d foreseen, but now he was truly intrigued.

Chaos did not seem all that pleased with the Kitsune's answer, the Ninja Master tilting his head a little bit as the much-taller man indicated that Daji was not aware of the 'gravity' of his situation, which really just left him confused as to what was going on at that moment. He sighed in defeat a little as Chaos insisted that the restraints on him would remain until he was told everything Daji knew about his friends, which the Fox figured was probably a fair-enough exchange, given the circumstances. The stern tone from Chaos did little to blunt the Kitsune's good cheer, however, his ears only drooping ever so slightly at the stern expression on his father-in-law's voice, though their conversation was interrupted rather suddenly.
Another energy barrier sprung up in the distance, the energy over there spiking to an absurd degree--Daji was relatively used to this kind of expression of power, already sensing the familiarity with it as it seemed to soar to unbelieveable heights. Daji winced at the sensation, his senses lighting up like wildfire in his head, causing him to squeeze his eyes shut for a moment as he shook his head, ears folding down on top of his head as if to keep them from being overwhelmed by the noise. Whatever Azazel was doing, Daji doubted he was just playing around--if anything, Azazel had decided to get really serious all of a sudden, though the only energy the Fox could sense over there was the blue-skinned alien's power level. Whatever he did to mess with Azazel, he hoped the alien would survive whatever came next.
Chaos seemed to do something telepathically, though Daji was not really able to intercept it or sense it out very well, though it was obvious Chaos was probably trying to speak to Azazel. That being said, the Cosmic Emperor spoke up again, speaking to the blond-haired woman for a moment before he spun around and kneeled in front of Daji, staring into the Fox's eyes for some kind of explanation. The Shinobi really did not see the issue in telling him, so he figured he might as well explain as much as he knew.
"Oh? Certainly--look, I had felt a powerful psychic presence on this world a little over a week ago, the same one that I felt when another planet was destroyed... well, not necessarily recently, but some time ago. I tracked that psychic presence to that woman," he said, nodding towards the blond-haired woman once more before he looked back to Chaos, trying his best to hold the Emperor's gaze. "I wanted to find out who was going around destroying planets, since that seems like the kind of thing people should know about, you know? Planets and liveable places for people is kind of a finite quantity, so I figured even if I could not prevent it, I figured I might as well know who it was, right? When I got here, I started to track her down, but then she got into a fight with another woman, though I'm not sure who it was your friend here was fighting. Then I sensed Tarble and Yamato--they're friends of mine, since I helped them out with a curse that Yamato and his people had been dealing with for some time. It feels like the Curse had been lifted or, at the very least, suppressed for now, so when they decided to leap into action, I figured they might need my help. Then that blue-skinned person showed up, and then Yamato disappeared, and so I told Tarble to go make sure Yamato was safe, and then... well, here we are," he said, shrugging once more to indicate the restraints that were around his arms and torso.
"I didn't realize she was with you, though, father-in-law--is there a reason you're having her going around to blow up liveable planets, or was that just a coincidence on my part? Sensing people's psychic energies from so far a distance can get rather vague at times, so even now, I'm not entirely certain she's the one I was looking for--perhaps you do, though?"
At that point, another person arrived, a massive Saiyan-looking warrior that seemed to have a respectable spirit energy as well, so Daji could only assume this one was with the Cosmic Empire as well. Well... at first, Daji had assumed, but then judging by that look he had given Chaos, there was probably more to that story than met the eye. "Oh, hello there--my name is Daji. Nice to meet you!" he said with a wiggle of his Kitsune ears and his tail. He then looked back towards Chaos with a wry grin.
"And here I was thinking you were probably lonely--Hayami seemed to think you had problems making friends, but looking around now, you seem to have lots of them!"

When it rained, it poured.
It was only a few moments ago that Lilly found herself engaged in high stakes and thrilling battle, then the next she was surrounded by people she couldn’t kill! They were allies - most of them. And more were coming. The ground beneath them shuddered as the incoming, great darkness tore through space and stepped foot on the charred soil.
It had been part of their plan - retrieve the fabled gauntlets that held the power of life forged into the metal and stitched into the seams. A powerful artifact that seemed to be thought lost to the cosmos or possibly tucked away in a vault collecting dust. Wherever they may have been, the Cosmic Emperor had somehow divined their location and sent the Celestial to retrieve them. It was her mission to succeed or fail by on her own merits.
The atmosphere seemed to grow heavy around the World Tree as the crisp air rapidly receded to make way for the Emperor and his faint indigo aura. The Cosmic Emperor’s dark eyes met with Lilly’s crimson ones as they were locked for the briefest moment.
“I don’t know where the gauntlets are. I was ambushed by someone I did not recognize, and him,” Lilly said with a stern tone as she stood to her full capacity and waved a hand in Daji’s direction as she finished, then she fell silent.
The calm moment was fleeting as the PTO soldier Burter was suddenly pulled into a dark vortex that encapsulated the area just beyond the reach of the gigantic tree. It was similar to the one that Lilly had conjured up only moments ago, yet this sphere held a more frightening energy source. It resonated with her by sending a low hum to her core. Was it the Angelic host communing with whatever dark source happened to be? Impossible to tell. The Parasite within had so little knowledge of the workings of other races.
Regardless, Lilly knew the shield would be similar to hers as it contained whatever events were to transpire, within its dome. Destroying it would take an immense amount of power and with the battle for the gauntlets still to come, it would not be wise to peer into foreign matters.
As Chaos demanded answers from the bound prisoner, the thought immediately crossed the woman's head to let the Emperor have his way with the prisoner, despite his relationship to the furry eared fiend. Did she smirk at the topic of planets being destroyed? No, Lilly was not one to smirk. She did, however, fold her thin arms across her chest while the Ninja spilled the information. The Hunter stepped forward to interrupt the two as Daji’s attention was turned to the pair Lilly recalled as her bully plaything on the shadow planet.
“He may be able to tell you, but I will show you.” the golden-haired woman broke into the conversation and extended her hand outward. The sleek black bodysuit-like armor that clung tightly to her every curve began to glow as her dark digits curled upward. The five thin pillars were still as a swirling blue orb rapidly manifest in the poorly contained space. It swirled in upon itself until the ball of energy grew to the size of an orange. Lilly hefted her arm upward gently as if prodding an animal to partake in her gift.
“This is his energy. Taste it.” she ordered. Perhaps Lilly overestimated the abilities of others to sample the energies she could absorb. The foolish spikey-haired boy had attempted to pull a power move but instead had willingly given the Hunter his scent.

Enter the Primordial
The primordial watched on as the confined battle field shimmered in his nova like destruction, the ecstasy of his unlocked power made him lick his lips as he turned his attention from the center of the explosion where the blue speedster was located toward the group just outside his heavily damaged arcane barrier. His crimson and now amber hued irises zeroed in on Chaos, the Emperor was in a no nonsense mood as he appeared to be interrogating the master ninja who still appeared to be bound, the blond females lips were moving as she addressed the Celestial who had his mark, the power of the first curse flowed through her and it tantalized the ancient one. It reminded him of the mark Lucifer bore, but this one was slightly different... like another variant of the same mark... but perhaps from a different universe? A smile spread across his lips as he hovered, his arcane wings of ebony fire flapping slightly as he turned back to look towards the destruction he had wrought. The land would hold this scare, his mark upon the world for quite some time. He had not used it without blowing up a planet for as long as he could remember, but the area would be highly contaminated... the planets World Tree though would hold the spread of the chaos unto this scarred now molten piece of land well enough though he surmised. Waving his left hand and muttering a small incantation the barrier he had erected dissipated, shimmering away into the wind as if so many rose petals scattered into the jet steam. It was time he joined the grouping of individuals below and figure out exactly what the hell had transpired here... why he had been attacked... and why the Cosmic Empire had decided to pick this back water world of all places to appear en mass for a battle with what he could only perceive as a fleeing Oath King. The skies boomed with thunder as he made his approach, sizzling subzero flames shimmering around his body as he smashed downward into the hard earth in between the members of the Empire present, his bent knees straightening from his landing returned him to his full towering height as his burning wings of arcane energy flared out to their full prominence. "Chaos...." His voice was stern... cold as he acknowledged his Majin disciple, his eyes scanned those present before he set his sights upon the tainted blonde celestial before him... "So... we meet at last!" He took several steps forward toward the female celestial only stopping before her when he sensed a bit of the Divine Ki Tarble usually emanated... so he had been here! As he approached the group on the ground Burter glanced out over the havoc that Azazel had rained down on the planet's surface. DeKalb might never heal from the wounds that the warrior inflicted on it. Like a scar on the skin, it would bear the mark of his battle forever.
What a weird way to leave my mark on history...
Landing a few meters away the Na'Vadian surveyed the scene. There was Chaos, the Cosmic Emperor himself, in the flesh, and he was face-to-face with the fox-ninja that Burter had left bound when he began his battle with Azazel. "Good," he muttered. He thought the blonde girl was going to kill the ninja for sure. She seemed like a real Debby Downer. Whatever the reason, Chaos had arrived and spared the fighter - at least for the moment.
Standing closest to Chaos was Azazel, who he now knew had some kind of connection to the Emperor. It seemed amicable enough. If they were allies then Burter could only hope that he hadn't just pissed away his chance to learn more about the Cosmic Empire. Chaos seemed like the kind of guy that stood by his people. At least, that's what he'd said when they met in the other dimension.
Also new arrivals since he'd first gone after Azazel, there was a hulky saiyan and a... demon? "Red skin... Horns... Pointy Tail..." Burter said under his breath, "Is he the Devil?" The soldier didn't believe in such things, of course, but if he'd ever seen anything that he could definitely call a demon, this was it.
Finally the Brute rested his eyes on his best friend, his pal, his buddy, Jeice. "Hey you idiot," he said, walking up to the Zoteran. "I could be wrong, but I'm kinda sure I told you to keep yo lil ass out of here. Just couldn't help yourself, huh? Well, you got to see all that shit, right? Believe me yet?"
Jeice shrugged away his comment and muttered something before looking back at the rest of the group. Sighing, Burter glanced over at his former opponent's back. "Yo, Azazel. I won't act like I have any fuckin idea what's goin on around here, but if you are somehow a friend of Chaos, I reckon I'm sorry for attacking you like that. What did you mean by "what it means to be what you've become"?" ======================= While Burter's battle continued to heat up, Jeice also had to focus his attention on the rapidly growing crowd around him. After Chaos appeared out of thin air a saiyan. one that he recognized all too well, descended from the sky. The bulked up monkey was accompanied by a devil-like creature that he hadn't seen the likes of. The creature made light of the situation, commenting on the dramatic explosions coming from within the dome nearby. The Zoteran shot a glance towards the battle to see his friend on the ropes, but still hanging in there. It was impressive, even to someone that knew Burter was ridiculously stronger, to see the Na'Vadian fight on stable ground with the likes of Azazel. The very air around that dude was menacing - he couldn't imagine what Burter was experiencing.
Jeice sat back, trying to figure out the dynamics of the group before speaking to any of them. Chaos and Lilly he knew from his recent travels to Mortoseth. They weren't exactly friends of his, but at least they were familiar faces. Broly... that behemoth he recognized too, but for all the wrong reasons. His face was weird though, still familiar, but it belonged to someone else he knew.
Is he... wearing that kid's face?
Jeice shuddered as he recalled having his body crushed by that particular Saiyan. He wanted to speak up, but what do you say to someone that killed you after coming back to life? Shooting another glance at the dome, Jeice gasped. The barrier was gone, and in its wake was a field of razed land. Completely scorched earth as all that remained. His eyes darted around but came to rest on Azazel. So he had clearly survived whatever massive attack had just obliterated part of the planet - but where was Burter? H his pulse quickening as he prepared himself for the worst only to have the Na'Vadian land next to him, apparently more or less unharmed, already saying "I told you so" within seconds of landing.
"Whatever. You have no idea what you were up against," Jeice muttered before looking back at the group. There had to be an explanation for all of this... and he was going to figure it out. For now that meant waiting, observing how everyone acted together. For all he could tell this was a group of enemies ready to explode. Or it was a meeting of the most powerful team in the galaxy. Which was it going to be? He listened intently. Guldo Words: 000 / 369 Jeice Words: 400 / 561 Burter Words: 400 / 1526

“Silence, beast.”
The words were sharp and venomous and were intended to put the Ninja in his place or suffer the consequences of speaking out. While Lilly had opted to allow her attacker to flee after the self-proclaimed king had cowered into the wilderness and even went so far as to flee the planet, her mercy had very little flexibility to it.
“Everything is birthed from the darkness. I am only sending it back,” Lilly stated in response to the Daji’s concern. The Cosmic Emperor may have condoned her actions but by no means was he the final authority on what she did. The First Curse demanded satisfaction of murderous urges and the Cosmic Empire provided an ample outlet and to that end, she would stand behind them - - the cursed parasitic angel forever on the group’s shoulder.
Lilly’s attention notified of two newcomers onto the what was becoming a rather large gathering, two who she had become familiar with on the planet of light and shadow, even if not by name. Her attention was not stolen, however, as she still presented the swirling energy for the darkened Emperor to observe for a moment longer.
A heatwave suddenly descended from nowhere as the shimmering barrier collapsed in unto itself and presented a sight of carnage and fire. Embers of supernatural origin waged war against the green verdant world - or what remained of it. Blackened and scorched, much like the ground all stood upon now yet to a degree that made the Celestial’s scars of war look like baby marks.
Clamping her slender, long fingers in on the swirling energy caused it to dissipate back into her reserves as a being of fire and darkness emerged to stand beside the Cosmic Emperor. Whoever this newcomer was held a burning gaze that rested upon the blonde Celestial. He spoke only a handful of cold words before stepping toward Lilly. An ally of Chaos was an ally of her own?
A dark flash of light surrounded the woman's hand and in its wake was the long blade of crimson and twisted ebony. Lilly hoisted the blade upward and created the sword’s length between herself and the stranger. The gaping maw poised to bite into the Red Stranger’s neck.
“I don’t know you. What do you want.” she stated with a cold and unwavering fortitude as she faced down a near literal devil in the flesh.

The Cosmic Emperor’s eyes narrowed at Daji’s words.
“The Empire’s reasons are of no concern to you.” He sighed disappointedly. “You have the idealistic ignorance of youth; it’s best you hold on to that as long as possible.”
He turned towards the familiar presence of Broly. The towering saiyan shot him a look that suggested he had not forgotten their last encounter. He broke the heated stare, shooting a glare over his shoulder when Daji said ‘friends’. His long hair waved as he shook his head. ‘So Tarble really….but why?’
Oblivious to the chatter around him he was lost in thought until Lilly snapped him back to the present. She produced a gently glowing ball of energy that his eyes were instantly drawn too. Could it be? He hesitated as if unwilling to take in the last (and most damning) piece of evidence for a heartbeat. Even with it just resting in her open palm he knew it to be true; he could smell it.
“Soy…” he muttered under his breath as he took the energy in his hand. He examined it, rolled it over his hands, bounced it around, even took a bite from it like an apple. After a few seconds he spat at the ground and the remnants of Tarble’s ki dissipated into blue motes.
But why? So far, all he knew was that Tarble came with the plan to save Dekalb, ignorant to the reason for the Cosmic Empire’s presence there. Why hadn’t he reached out to Chaos? When Tarble began building his own kingdom Chaos had been apprehensive, but never questioned the saiyan’s loyalty to the Cosmic Empire and her cause.
While Lilly barked at Daji, Azazel’s barrier shattered and his massive presence washed over the gathering. He watched the primordial powerhouse descend with the power and grace of a comet. His message had been received it seemed and Burter had been spared.
Another problem suddenly presented itself though. Perhaps even more impressive than the massive girth of powers gathered there were their collective egos. Dekalb was far from safe.
Chaos stepped around Azazel and placed a hand on Lilly’s glinting blade.
“It seems introductions are in order. There are no enemies here, now,” he said, glancing over Broly and Daji. “This is Lilly, a Lord of my Empire. Though she utilized her own methods, she came to this world to retrieve something for me. Before she completed her mission we...were betrayed. As you know---” he said while locking eyes with the primordial, voice dropping an octave---
