Repeat the Past The Cell cannot die. The Cell didn’t know that. Before the final assault from the Butter Hurricane and his pet, the Cell’s power level dropped to nothing as it transferred its consciousness to another Cell. There were so many more Cells. Would this happen every time? Would all of the Cells be replaced by another Cell? Still in its first stages, the Cell had been ejected to another planet to be fully incubated. In a small craft, no larger than a bean pod, it was sent to Kanassa, a volatile planet where it could grow into a new form. Where, after a fashion, it was. Then.. was this Cell another Cell or the same Cell? Awakening underneath the sea en caul, it found itself fully formed with a strange new gleam in its forest green skin. The sheen subsided quickly but a strange kind of negative light remained under each plate of its lizard-like skin. Breaking free from the amniotic sac, it impulsively rose back to the surface and took its first new breaths. Birth? The Cell crawled from its oceanic habitat and fluttered its wings as it tentatively took flight. Hunger surged through its body and it immediately took to hunting. Kanassans were juicier than it had expected, as it devoured a small tribe of them. But they weren’t enough. It needed something bigger, something stronger, and something more dangerous. If you’re looking for a real treat… there’s a young girl in the forest of illusion that might fit the bill. New Cell who dis?Just a friendly voice in your head. Got enough of those. We’re at maximum occupancy, sir and or madam please leave a message at the beep.
The for-- Beeeep. The forest of illusion, Cell. You’ll pick up her energy in the soul of the trees. And thus the creature found itself crawling through the forest, a larger insect amongst the world of bugs and things that go bump in the night. When it would make a wrong turn, or change direction unnecessarily, that same voice in its head would make a nice helpful beeping noise. It had information that Cell lacked. Although it changed directions based on it beeps, Cell asked no questions. As far as it was concerned, this was still an uninvited guest. Finally, moving slowly but surely for days upon days, it caught scent and began a more rapid, yet no less quiet, movement. Leaping from tree to tree, it found a large glowing orb of energy in its minds eye, like a bonfire contrasting the darkness of its surroundings. The spirit of the trees, it figured, as it turned on a heel and headed that way. Now that it could smell and sense, tail rising up behind it to strike, it only needed one more thing. Then, it found it. Sight. A young girl sitting amongst the weeds, barely visible over them. Too easy. Too easy. It stopped, crouching stuck to the side of a tree like a spider contemplating a meal from its web. The voice in its mind spoke up, Hold on, Cell. Something’s wrong here. It’s clearly a trap. The Cell nodded, barely perceptible. Hmm. Yep. Trap. Welp. Time to spring it.Leaping from its spot, in the tree, it attacked tail first, one dangerous piercing strike followed by a quick claw as it angled its body just so in order to land in front of the young warrior, sliding through the reeds and clearing them with a wild swipe of its tail behind it. “ Hello,” It said. “ Helloooo. Hm. Probably should have said that before the attacking. Always get those two mixed up.” “ Should tell you our name too? After this break.” It lunged again with a series of clawing strikes, bladed claws eager to shred flesh and rend bone. Its claws seemed to be leaking a strange purplish liquid, a paralytic toxin that had evolved from its previous incarnation. Moreover, there was a strange frenzy in its eyes that hadn’t been there before. Was this a characteristic of the New Cell? Not that the young girl would be able to tell. Cell could easily eat something without even harming it, but tugging at its center was this strange suggestion that a bleeding, broken meal would taste so much better. “ The Cell, we call ourselves. Others call us Cell, or ‘Oh no stop eating me’. Last one’s a little long for our taste.” It seemed to be moving in a slightly twitchy manner. Uncertain of itself, or using every bit of its body to sense its surroundings. In an instant, it charged the young girl again, shoving its claws forward in an underhanded gripping motion as though it was going to literally rip out her intestines. This was followed by a swiping slice in an attempt to gouge the smooth skin clean from her face and leave only its destabilizing poison in its wake. “ Forgive us for being a bit tense. Last time we attacked a girl in the woods things got a little intense. Tense intense. In tents. Er. Past tense.” ACTIONS 1. Be Perfect Form [Physically unchanged] Un-suppress to 900k 2. There were so many outcomes, so many futures, so many decisions that shifted life itself. The tiniest of choices could split a path ten ways. She saw ten different futures showing her painful death, and she saw ten more where her goals were realized. She saw herself killing, she saw herself saving. She saw worlds fall apart and lives changed towards vengeance and hate. She saw hope created from the smallest sparks of energy. She saw the future where she rested in this spot for seven more days undisturbed. She saw the future of the Shadowguard operative hunting her down, and could almost taste the raw chaos on her lips. She saw the future of the bug-like creature dropping down upon her from the canopy. This specific future felt louder, or maybe she was just intrigued by it. It was something she had never seen before and yet, not very different from the many monsters Damaskia’s bioteam created. Had this once been a man? So many of her soldiers went under the knife, offered up as sacrifices to the greater goal of a super soldier. Once her position rose high enough she was able to see the end results: monsters like the green beast digging its claw inside her. She could taste the blood, feel the agonizing pain as it attempted to go through her armor. It landed so gracefully delivering another swipe across her fallen body. She started to rise and the creature spoke but in her future vision it was garbled like someone had turned the radio station one dial off. Static and screeching, warning her of what was yet to come as it attacked again. Dripping claws tried to rip open her flesh, and she could smell the burning acid upon them. It was a good smell. Marcella’s eyes didn’t open and she stayed in that meditative state, feeling the forest around her. It couldn’t be trusted. The forest of illusion was given its name for a reason but she felt herself in her vision. She felt exactly what state she was in, how her energy felt stirring within her and how her muscles ached gently from sitting. The time was... Now. She dropped low to her left, but not quickly enough. The strike dug into her side, slicing instead of digging into her, before the next slice cut into her back. She let out a hiss, but spun around and stayed crouched, one knee still to the ground, the other bent up, her stave held from the low end in front of her, ready to dig into the ground to quicken her next move. But she knew she didn’t need to just yet. The static was gone. The creature stood tall above her and she could see all the little creases in his plating and the danger of the thick shell that coated him. She wondered again if he had once been a man. It was a simple greeting, and he received a wicked grin for it. It bared her teeth, still clenched from the first attack, until she opened and chomped down with them before he rushed her again. She had seen this move too, and this time Marcella had a grasp of his speed. Well, a small grasp, but at least an understanding that she had to move a lot earlier, and had the advantage of knowing where she could go. As prepared she dug the staff into the ground and launched herself backwards away from the strikes. It twitched in response, moving further into its introduction but giving her only a short moment to contemplate his words. She brought her stave to swing around and this time she moved it to intercept. Grabbing it in both hands she dropped it down as the claw ripped upwards to block it’s trajectory then slammed her head towards his before his claw got in the way. They separated and she bit back the urge to immediately rip into her counter attack. She spun the stave again, slow and methodical this time, like a moving pendulum so easy to get lost in and listened. The air around her began to grow hotter, coming off her in waves, making the air seem thick with...tension. ”’Oh No, Don’t Eat Me,’” she repeated back to him in a tone as if she were saying his name, while the heat grew intense enough that the air around her seemed to distort. ”Nice to meet’cha.”It was her turn to rush and she knew she was outmatched in speed and strength. She didn’t care though. She rarely cared, and she had survived this long. The first strike came from the staff, spinning around until it moved in a chopping motion. Like his claws, it seemed to have a poisonous touch, burning in an almost chemical way on contact before she spun in and shot her elbow towards his face. This would burn him in a more devastating manner. Her whole body was like magma, breaking through the surface of her skin as lava on the tiniest of contacts with him. Her stave moved in again as she turned around him, striking hard again from the side in hopes to crush into those hardened plates before she pulled the stave back and shot it forward straight on so her fist could attempt to crash into his face. Once again the blazing fire poured off her, licking at him like she too, was intent on devouring him. He had to be cooked first. She tossed the staff up, catching it in one hand as her other fist moved in a wicked arch meant to knock his head off as it burned. She pressed in further, her knee attempting to dig into his abdomen, testing its durability as the heat intensified once more. Her aim was to keep close and she would recklessly rush in as much as she had to. Pressing in, she slammed the stave down towards his foot, hoping to crush it before sending a more compact kidney blow his way. A rush of speed propelled her forward as the first compact blow turned into two, and then three, and then four all while the fire burned on in her tiny fist. Free. Hot Head: +15% str Free. The Sweet Scent
The rush and flurry of battle turned tides again and again. Attacks that the Cell had sworn wouldn’t hit managed to cause damage, while others that were seemingly certain to make connections were knocked away and, at one point, caused the smaller foe to smash against Cell’s skull with surprising force. Does she have metal in her skull?Next came an onslaught of vicious proportions, betraying a sense of calm that she seemed to radiate. Fire licked at the Creature while it was driven back, back, back by strike after unmitigated strike, cause scorch marks across its greenish carapace. She hadn’t managed to shatter the exoskeleton, but that didn’t mean the Creature didn’t feel her blows. Bruises that had started to form in seconds told the story of crushed veins underneath the Cell’s natural armor. It stumbled backwards for a moment, shaking its head to get its thoughts right. “ We get it,” The Cell said, pulling itself together. It hadn’t been expecting the back and forth to contain so much forth so quickly. It stood still for a second, head down as though it was contemplating or bowing. Then started laughing. A wicked, dangerous laugh. “ We get the joke. And we have a sense of how strong Girl is.” The Creature swallowed, raising its gaze with its eyes beginning to glow red, “ We aren’t going to play it safe this time. We’re going in swinging. The Cell is going to take Girl’s everything.” The Creature’s voice dropped into a low growl, “ Feel it yet? Surrounded by it. Infiltrated already.” Indeed, the scent of heat had masked something that the Creature had been emitting. A type of pheromone, perhaps? It had a strangely sweet scent at first, but something lingered in the nostrils like a type of olfactory aftertaste. It was almost like choking on rotten pineapple. The stench became visible, if only slightly. Darkened waves of energy, like spirits, began to drift off of the Creature. It penetrated the air, causing the reeds around them to start to wilt and collapse. The two of them were surrounded by death already. It followed the Cell everywhere. Unlike those that claimed to be dark and evil, that wasn’t the Cell by choice. It was simply what the Creature was composed of. “ By the way… We would like to know our meal’s name. Otherwise we just keep saying Girl, and in this environment? We just can’t keep doing that. We too.” It gave her a moment to answer then, kicking off of the ground in a sudden burst of speed that distorted the air around it, The Cell rushed forward to close the gap between them with a diving clawed strike. It had made small piercings in her armor already, and intended to continue working at them or simply cleave her in twain. Whichever happened first. ACTIONS Free. Take all. 1. Swipe that vaccine 2. The creature laughed. It was a strange laugh, strained and yet brash. Deep and haunting yet somewhat childish. She supposed that the laugh summed up the creature as she knew it so far. It matched his appearance and his demeanor, and all the more while it sounded so threatening. Normally you laughed at a joke, to play around, to keep good mirth, but Cell’s words after said the opposite. It held finality. She smelled it then, sickly sweet and choking. She didn’t wince however, or even sneer. Instead her gaze went downward as she touched the device on her wrist that was connected to the scouter. She was Damaskian. She was Shadowguard. Biological warfare was in her blood, quite literally. She’s been gone from the guard for a long enough time not that the previous inoculations had worn away. She was no longer safe, but she was trained to endure the worst biological harm the kings of it could imagine and she still carried the technology that would tell her exactly what she was dealing with. Well, it would try. The poisonous gases Cell released were unlike any she had come across until she met him. That was because she hadn’t met him. It was tailored by him, even if not consciously, created by his insides and bio matter. He was poison all by himself. It would take her systems longer than this to come up with any kind of vaccine or antidote, and there seemed to be some kind of energy in the air as well, not quite like ki and yet it felt of life. It felt of death at the same time, and she could feel it pulling from her like reaper sucking at her strength as it prepared to take her to the great unknown. With the data clicking away in her scouter lens she scanned the wilted plant life as well, almost pitying it despite the fact she knew that would soon be her, when the creature spoke again. She was mildly surprised. She had come to the assumption that he was a Shadowguard experiment gone terribly wrong or terribly right. It was the most logical thing to happen considering she was already being hunted, instead of settling on the coincidence that something else might just decide to hunt her for sport. She was in the Forest of Illusions however. She shouldn’t be so ignorant, but he did not feel like this place. The beasts here were all saturated in that telepathic energy, and Cell had...Well, there was something telepathic about him, or maybe it was just the many minds inside him trying to break free that caught her senses like the use of telepathy; the practice of merging one mind with another. It wasn’t from the forest though. He wasn’t from the forest. He was from somewhere else, something else. He asked her name. It seemed like an absurd thing to ask so early, especially while still considering her nothing but a meal. In war, you didn’t share each others names unless it was an earned warrior’s death and even then she didn’t care for them. This beast wanted to talk though. That’s all it was. He wanted to run his mouth and he wanted a proper title to run it to. Normally she wouldn’t have obliged. She would have made a quip about how she was merely his undoing or something as dramatic and threatening as that. She had been in the forest a long time however. She had been on the run for even longer. She could not remember the last time her name had passed through someone’s lips, even her own. ”Marcella,” she said, somewhat quietly, like the name were an unsure answer she was giving a stern teacher. It felt nice though, her lips pressing together, her tongue finding the back of her teeth. It felt right. He didn’t give her so much of a nod of acknowledgement, but she knew what was coming. Her future sight had stretched as far as it could go, but Cell was predictable this early in the battle. Talk. Attack. Talk. Attack. He wanted both, but neither would rest long for the other. As soon as she answered him, she knew he would come. She expected his claws again, but the sheer force and speed he flung himself at her sent a dark feeling of anxiety. Her hands shot up before crossing, and with them the dead plants and ground suddenly moved upward like a landslide he now had to run up. With his straight forward trajectory, and sheet power, he was more likely to dive right through it using force alone to still reach her, but the earth would slow him. His poison did not sink so deep that it completely withered the tangled roots below them, at least not yet. They weren’t as hard and sturdy as a tree root, but they were thick and netlike to further assist her defense. He would still break through, but when he crashed into her guard, sending her small form crashing into a tree that quickly cracked, she imagined she would have gone straight through it otherwise. Or maybe he would have gone straight through her. The claws sharpness was at least disjointed, and with the wind knocked from her weakening lungs she was not pierced through. This time, she did not pause in her assault. She was warmed up now, and if he was going to play hard ball. she had to as well. Her cross guard pulled out just a little before she moved it quickly back to her chest. The action cause a sudden popping sound as a bubble of ki formed around Cell upon her command. Whether it caught him or not, she rushed towards it. Swinging her staff in a swift downward motion she send the ball shooting forwards. If Cell was inside it, he was in for a nasty ride. If he wasn’t she made sure to aim the ball right under his fleeing form. It crashed into the torn earth and exploded, kicking up more dirt and root before the ground began to bubble. She swung her staff into an upwards motion this time, and the ground immediately rumbled before thick lava shot out with all her telekinetic force and speed. It shot directly towards Cell in huge circumference of spray, hoping to engulf him as leftovers rained down and the poisoned earth became scorched. Then came the real magic trick. She pulled the stave in, using something close to slight of hand as it vanished in her cloak, only for the fabric to open and reveal a huge gun that’s length probably matched more than half her height, cocked and loaded, it’s barrel already glowing a fiercer red than Cell’s eyes. In an instant it was at her shoulder and aimed, and when it erupted it knocked her back, sensing a missile sized blast at the creature that ripped through the air like it could tear through space and time. It exploded on contact but before that she was already releasing a second round, her trained eye fixing back on him with immaculate precision. She could already hear her own blood pumping in her ears. A1. Bio Scan @ Cell (+5% DMG) A2. Telekinesis Block Dragon Dive A3. IST + Burning Hokaku Kon Dan [DR6.5] (6%) {Burn} Second Wave. Gifts From A Martyr Marcella was an interesting name. The Cell hadn’t heard it before. But there were plenty of names the creature hadn’t heard before. Weren’t there? It supposed it wouldn’t know until it heard them. He contemplated this in the microsecond before a tree smashed into it. Or it smashed into the tree? The tree definitely hadn’t been there before, but it cushioned the blow between the Creature and its target. Whirling around to catch itself, the Creature let out an unintentional snarl. It hadn’t been planning to snarl now. “ Sorry, we didn’t intend that.” The battle was heating up. The Creature could feel it. Would they be able to retain a clever back and forth throughout? Had she really been contributing to her part of the witty banter? Would she start? It was nearly caught off guard by the suddenness of the energy sphere. In the fraction of a second between the bubble surrounding it, it managed to create a smaller, much more snug bubble underneath, squeezing itself into a ball within that to contain itself against the globe of energy. Unfortunately that wasn’t quite enough to stave off the complete damage of the shattering exterior orb, nor the embarrassment of becoming a Cell-shaped billiard ball. “ Didn’t appreciate that!” It said from within its confinement. Before it could recover, the shattered ground beneath gave way to a burst of magma that melted away a good portion of the small, olive-sheen, protective sphere. “ Okay, really not appreciating the attempts to burn us.” It said, purposely failing to acknowledge that she had already done that, and there were darkened spots across its hardened carapace that would no doubt be easier to shatter. Before it could fully stand, the orb now hanging onto it like a partially birthed chick’s egg, she seemed to have summoned a massive weapon from the hammer-space, and had it aimed straight at the Creature. “ Oh the Marcella is just cheating now.” The rocket slammed into the shell with enough force to shatter it and send the Creature flying into the brush. Another shot followed into the darkness, the Creature leapfrogging over it and rushing back into the fray. It then spoke words that it, by all rights, did not know. “ KAIO-KEN!!” Its body ignited in a violet aura, swirls of red and purple dancing into each other as the Creature’s body seemed to gain a heretofore unseen level of speed and power. It moved with such speed that it seemed to blur its movements into each other, melting like a single flurried movement. Strike after dangerous strike came in, churning up a one person storm and attempting to quite simply melt her armor with the force of the repeated blows. Its claws continued to work into her, almost desperate to feed on the flesh that hid underneath the protective hide. This energy hadn’t been the Cell’s. Since it had died so close to the Dog With Fight In Her, it had absorbed some of her traits and abilities in essence. Included in that was this new ability, which she had given her pride, and very nearly her life, to transfer to the Creature. Was this how the Creature worked? Something akin to a leech? Was this the way for it to become more, to become more than The Cell? Since when have we wanted that? The strikes continued, not from varying angles or any kind of alternating strategy. It simply pummeled into her with the force of what could be considered a small but very aggressive god. At least some kind of para-deity. The repeated strikes slowed after just a few seconds, with the term ‘just a few seconds’ being relative in this case. The Creature’s aura waned and it finished the onslaught with three powerful punches and one final slash before the aura dissipated completely. Left standing in place, shoulders heaving with a sense of tiredness that it had yet to display, it stared at her and said, “ Going to use a gun again, huh?” ACTIONS 1. Barrier vs A3/SS/A4 2. After such an assault, the creature’s snarl sent a sickening and panging feeling under her bruised and likely fractured rib cage. It wasn’t fear however. It was something she had long gotten used to. It was hunger paired with disgust. Her belly ached, while her mind reeled in protest, not quite there yet. Not quite. He quickly took it back, recovering her own composure and giving her time to collect her own and start her attack. She caught him unawares, and like a child he lashed out at her with words, still able to keep up his glib replies even when slammed to the ground. Even when pressured by the heat she pulled from every direction. She liked it. Even when he claimed it was attempts to burn him, she could smell burning flesh, even his flesh was a bit unordinary. It seemed to meld with the chemicals in the air, creating a harsh scent that also felt toxic. She could feel that too, the chemicals burying under her skin, sinking into her organs and sapping her of her strength, and that too sent waves of sickening adrenaline through her, making the hunger grow, and the blood began to sound like a growl. Her go to was weapons. That’s how she had been trained, but there was another reason for it. Using that much energy clawed at her. She needed to refill it. The beast inside her demanded it and if she kept going on her own strength alone it would consume her, but even without using it, something was sucking it away. Something was pulling for her and she wanted to pull back. ”You’ll wish I cheated more,” she gave him, her lips twitching against a smile. It almost seemed like an earnest warning, except there was a shiver in her tone that read of anticipation, of challenge. Push on. Push further. The sudden shout made her drop her weapon, purposefully. She couldn’t guard without it and she knew that aggressive call to the wind. She was never a fan of gods, kai’s even less, but she had experience with those brought back from the dead. She knew what such a technique would bring unless it was a feint, but she couldn’t risk that. He already had her beat in speed and strength and now it was going to go up even more, spreading a fierceness into him she would not be able to match. She needed to guard, and she did her best, curling up as she fell back towards the ground, trying to protest as much of her vitals as she could, cringing from pain and the sense of future pain. She hardly had the chance too, and a strike cut into her. Over and over, strikes attacked at every angle, picking apart her guard until it fell and then it felt like they did cut her. Her armor held but each strike had the strength behind it to feel like a sharp blade, and it felt like blood should be gushing out. On and on, raking deeper into her and she did bleed, where he managed to cut through, and where the pressure scraped against her for too long, but most of it was internal, rising into her mouth and over her lips. She tasted it. The warmth and metallic taste, and her hunger grew. ”Yes,” she whispered in response, her cloak opening once more. This time her hand seemed empty and yet it held the pose of holding onto something. The noise of a shot went off, and she rolled over and away from him as an invisible blast barreled towards him, aimed for the worst of his burns. Rolling into a crouched position, she launched off the ground and towards her dropped weapon, scooping it up before shifting her ki in the opposite direction to send her towards him, and again she aimed it with the ease of someone who held such a weapon for countless hours. It might as well have been her hand pressed against him. She knew the force of the weapon, she felt the breeze or lack thereof, she estimated his speed compared to the weapons, and the easiest way for him to move, blocking it off. The recoil knocked her back, and this time crashing into bruised shoulder she let out a cry, hunching over and almost dropping the weapon once more. It wasn’t like a cry of simple pain, it was a cry that came from everything splitting away, of a transformation, and the air changed. It immediately grew heavier. The poisonous gas seemed to sink into the bruised earth, pressed against some greater force. Cell would feel it too, before he could take advantage of her momentary lapse in ability to move. It spread out and into him, igniting every soul inside him. It created a strong sense of anxiety that was almost existential. Like the very world around him was coming down, and it no longer made sense for him to be one being, one cell. The feeling beckoned chaos, in its rawest form, demanding it from him just as much as Marcella. The transformation itself caused thick black smoke to cross the battlefield, suffocating his poison. It coated her skin like ash and soot and when she looked back to him her grey eyes had turned a deep red. ”Now we can play,” she said with a wide and menacing grin that split her face in two, a hissing laugh escaping it. ”Let me see you.”Free. -5% Ki, -1% all stats, -5% more vitA1. A Brand New You The distance between them had grown. It wasn’t merely physical. When the blows struck like pellets of thick rain, the Creature could feel something dissociating between them. The pain of the burning had sunk in, the scorching hot remains of her shots sinking into its mind. Some would have called her next action a cheap shot. An invisible hit from an invisible gun that finally cracked the carapace of the Creature, sending it rolling backwards. The Cell, however, figured this was completely fair. After all, the two of them were locked in a battle of death and there wasn’t really ‘cheap’ between them. What was perhaps, more surprising, was that it kicked out of the roll and flew straight at the gun as she was heading towards it, determined to take the weapon from her. When it became clear that she had the advantage, it turned the dive into a barrel roll, feeling the wind of the rocket shooting just past it, the explosion behind it causing a slight departure from its intended flight plan. It raked its claws against the ground and rolled back into a crouch, watching her. And here it came. Something within her had awoken, something that caused the Creature’s own flight or fight responses to trigger. All of them. The Creature’s wings flitted in reaction as it took a half a step back, the energy swirling around them rushing throughout it. The smoke rose across the battlefield and caused the Cell to bring its hands up in a shielding motion, palms facing outwards, claws curled ever so slight against whatever was happening next. When she spoke, it watched her for any other movement. And slowly, unknowingly, He began to grow against the chaos. She said it. She said the magic words.No. The Cell said, firmly. Not necessary, not wanted, not needed, not requested, no one in here voted for you. You’re weak enough. You’re too weak now. This may be your shell, but your shell is broken. It was only an instant to her, but it almost seemed as though her power caused the Cell to shut down. The Cell’s eyes started to dim. Its skin began to fade into a deep olive color, as though it was empty of anything within the shell itself. We reject this. We’re calling for a recount. We won’t let you!!Relax. You don’t have to worry about me. You don't have to worry about we. In fact, there is no we. There is no we. There is only Me. A fist burst through the shell, exactly where she had pierced it prior. Following that, the entire shell seemed to shatter into bits, electric-golden energy mixing with the smoke on the battlefield. Standing in place of the carapaced Creature was a being that was roughly a foot shorter, yet still towered over Marcella. It seemed more human, yet still strangely alien. The entomoian features were still visible, wings on its back and a strange crown atop its head where the horns had been, along with the tail — truncated— coming from its back. This new Being carried no energy signature of several beings. It was now just One. “ You wanted to see me?” His voice was deeper and firmer, commanding respect now. It was no longer uncertain or guttural like the previous Creature. The energy He expelled was overflowing but, unlike the Cell, completely in control. Lifting a single finger at her, He fired a burst of purple energy, radiating with gold around it. He clearly wasn’t trying to hide Himself anymore. The beam headed straight for the weakened point of her armor, but seemed so casual that it was almost expected to be ignored. Seemingly the moment the energy had left His finger, He rose into the air with the aura around Him almost struggling to keep up. As He rose, the same energy gathered in both of His hands and came down in a shower of slow but thick smatterings of energy, hot purple globes of ki that searched for anything solid to explode upon contact with. He hadn’t lost her throughout the ruckus, dropping down to her as the blasts cleared out. With the force of a contained hurricane, He sent a pair of uppercuts her way, dropping down to give Himself enough leverage to send her flying into the air. With blurring speed to meet her, He punched her back into the ground with enough force to create a crater beneath them. Even as He landed casually on the ground, He took a single step towards her. Within that one step, He crossed the entirety of the distance between them with the greatest of ease. He grabbed her arm and raised her up, “ Hey,” He said, placing an open palm just below her right breast with the intention of firing a cacophonous blast straight through her. Whether she was the victim of it or not, it would absolutely get rid of the forest behind her for nearly for nearly half a mile. At least there were no more places to hide. ACTIONS Free. Take A2 1. When you predicted how someone moved in defense, the probabilities of them bum rushing towards your attack were usually too low to account for. They were only a little ways through the battle, so it was no surprise the creature could surprise her. The Cell ran at her before she could get her gun fully in place and tried to grab hold of it,. She did what she was trained to do, but he still had superior speed and was able to duck below her forced shot, which got him a grunt before the poison in the air sapped more life from her and the transformation moved into place. The change in Cell brought a manic glee to the soldier’s eyes. His body died before her, and then it was shed away and abandoned for something new, something greater, but she found she didn’t like the change. The close to telepathic waves but not quite telepathic waves had spiked like they hit a weyline and then were also silenced with the explosion of his outer shell. The man before her now, though perhaps still a monster, was not the same creature. Not quite. ”Booo,” the girl let out scrunching her nose in a childish expression of displeasure that didn’t match her earlier seriousness at all. ”Not you,” she offered the monster, sticking out her tongue in distaste. She didn’t want to see him. She could feel new power from him, and her hunger grew, but she had wanted to play with her friends and now they had been replaced and it didn’t seem fair at all. She pulled her tongue back into her mouth, but the monster pointed to her, a quick beam cutting into her in an instant, and her eyes darkened before her smile grew back on. Her gun had slid back into her cloak when her hands trembled too much, and now her staff slid out once more, spinning around her in as much speed as she could manage before she twirled it like a high powered fan above her. The globs of ki crashed into it and just like goo into a fan, they were sliced up and spat back out in a spray of much weaker ki that sought to reclaim its master. She planted the staff back into the ground, using it to launch herself away from his next attack, but his speed caught up to her too quickly and she gave him a sneer before her fist cut up into her chin. She tried to carry herself with it, using ki to try and get away but it only caused the next uppercut to go into her gut instead. At least she gave it zero resistance, letting it fling her though the air, even assisting it if that meant getting away from him. She didn’t want to get away from him, but she really wanted to get away from him, and the contradiction made her bite down a giggle. Lucky she did, or she might have bit her tongue off when the next fierce punch crashed into her, sending her barrelling towards the ground as she tried to use her ki again to cushion the impact to the dry and ashy forest floor. It didn’t do a lot of good, the ground still breaking away, and he was upon her again, pulling her small form up like she was a rag doll. ”Bitch,” she said over his greeting. Ki control had still been her prerogative, and after it left her in the impact she pulled it back in and let it surround her body in a skin tight bubble that expanded when he stretched his hand out. The beam crashed into it, and as beams do, sent her flying with the force of it before it managed to crack through her barrier to dig into her as another tree fell victim to Cell’s viciousness. ”Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch,” she repeated, her voice getting louder with each profanity as she picked herself up. The tree fell down behind her, crashing through the canopy before being held up by its brethren, the strength of the forest refusing to bow down so early. ”Poor, poor, Oh No, Don’t Eat Me,” she said as she flicked her wrist to hide the stave away again, her small hand beginning to glow a bright purple. ”He ate himself!”With that she vanished, the bright purple still glowing where her hand had once been, and then trying to match his speed, trying to stretch beyond it if she could. Her own palm attempted to press against his chest this time. Despite her mania, she knew she didn’t have time for another quip if this was going to be successful, so all she let out was a cheerful ”Bang!” at the same time her finger tips exploded with machine gun fire. She continued making gun noises, with the put, put, put sound as her second hand shot forward to release more ki bullets in a deadly spray of aggressive fire that would spread out in a large range even if he was able to escape her point blank assault. ”Put. Put. Put,” she let out slower, enunciating each one, as her hand machine guns died down and she pulled them back towards her, rolling through her cloak before removing her staff once more. ”He thought he was poison,” she said whimsically, even as she felt ki being licked up from her from that very ability. The sound of thick water drops against the canopy began to sound before it turned into a rushing sound as rain poured down, melting the leaves and branches away as the broke off and began to fall all around them. The acid rain itself covered their entire battle field, washing away Cell’s poison in the wake of its own. Marcella briefly closed her eyes and looked up to feel it on her face. I Don’t Know When I’ll Stop Even as He brought Himself back to the ground, taking stock of what had happened to her, she was standing up with a series of curses and getting back to her feet, she was on the attack again. Her power level was rising steadily indicating something was coming, but He didn’t have enough knowledge about her to tell what. It was a clear indicator when she attempted to place her hand on Him that it was going to be a big one, and as the energy started flying He let out a defiant cry, jerking his body backwards even as the two of them continued to move through what was left of this portion of the battlefield. Even as the attacks came at him, his defiant roar of power created a porous grate through which the attacks were forced to squeeze in order to get to Him. The remaining attacks pelted into him, seemingly to no effect. As the last of the attacks came through, He threw Himself backward in a horizontal spin, landing on the ground in a three-point stance and standing up. To say that He was undamaged would be incorrect. To say that his body showed signs of damage would not. Although there were surely internal effects that would need seeing to, his perfect shell was undamaged. “ Well,” He brushed a little dust off of his right arm. His aura ignited in that familiar burst of red that indicated an outrageous influx of speed and strength, as He rushed to her with a strange mix of casual movement and irrational speed. To say that his wild, monstrous claws previously had been rough was not an understatement. But with this new, perfect form, came an increase in the number of strikes that Cell now unleashed. It almost seemed that for each one that was sent out, two struck, multiplicative of his actual limbs. This time, unlike last, He didn’t work only one spot. He struck to make her hurt all over, almost as though to punish her for some unknown crime. This didn’t spread the pain out evenly so much as it would have before, instead it laid twice as hard into more places, without remorse or chance for recovery. Much more quickly than should have been possible, these strikes gained a brutally sharp effect as well, what had once been a natural part and uncontrollably wild part of “The Cell” was now evenly distributed from Cell’s perfect ki. The poison still leaked through at the exact time that would cause the best chance for damage, the draining strikes continued and the ki seemed to sharpen against her flesh, threatening to continue lacerating her armor to shreds. Once the red ki started to waver and wane, Cell let up for a moment before He reignited the outrageous aura and continued to pummel into her. His speed reduced ever so slightly and for three consecutive hits, He simply threw out three wild punches to her jaw. Following that He fell back into His routine of punching her with such speed that his arms were those of Vishnu. I am become Death. His fists seemed to hit almost every inch of her, with little room to defend herself and hopefully no room to escape. Destroyer of Worlds. As each strike made its way to her, they were filled with a new kind of poison. Not a kind of hatred or the vicious poison that had seeped into His ki. It was a kind of personal lethargy. Punching into her was not necessarily boring, but a kind of tedium that came with an experienced chef tenderizing meat for the thousandth time in a single day. This part wasn't what He had been looking for, but each and every strike allowed Him to get to the part that allowed Him to express himself most clearly. Meanwhile, the grill was warming up, and He was getting ready to seal in those juices for extra flavor. With a sudden jump backwards, he spread his arms outwards and his wings lifted up, razor thin membranes revealed underneath. “ Don’t worry. They’re still in here.” Was all the warning He gave before His wings spread open to release a torrent of spirits that clawed all around the young woman from every direction, attempting to rip her very spirits to shreds. With any luck she would be punch drunk enough to be unable to properly defend herself. Otherwise, He would have to be pleased enough by having hit her so many goddamn times. ACTIONS 1. Kiai. 2. Animals made noises for various reasons. They made cries of pain and frustration. They let out hisses of hostility, to give warnings in hope of scaring a weaker predator away. When a lion roared it was a testament to his dominance, and that was the closest comparison to what Cell did but it still did not quite fit. It wasn’t a war cry or something so passionate. The New Cell was far too composed, icy cold and almost solemn. It was something like defiance, a clear cut refusal of her attack as if he were above it and all he had to do was command it to stop. I held that feeling combined with an animalistic power. The roar pushed back her hair and cloak and her blasts hit clear resistance, which made Marcella’s grin grow wider. Her teeth clenched down as she pushed whatever she could against it, but she found no surprise to see that his chassis unharmed. She had enough battle experience to know he was hurting, even if he could disguise it. Well, she wasn’t completely sure. The bio-scans he showed were nothing like she had seen before and he showed nothing of damage, and she knew that when Changelings took a new form they healed themselves. It was possible he had done the same thing but she could feel his power, and knew what should have happened to him. Even if his power had drastically increased, she fought tougher. She felt like she fought tougher. Maybe not stronger, at least not alone. The blood ki wrapped around him once more and the world froze. She saw his attack as he launched forward, saw the steps she would take, and see how she eventually hit the ground. Even seeing all this, she couldn’t move fast enough against the first rush. Battle hardened instinct put her on guard but he busted through it. She tried to raise her stave but his strength crushed into her chest before his strikes simply wove past, finding her body over and over again, keeping her on her feet by pure velocity. She wasn’t any stranger to pain. It poured through her and her senses sharpened in protest. Every strike set her nerves on fire as they were crushed and torn open. Her experiential armor connected right into her nervous system, and each strike made her feel more alive as it sent her wave after wave of encouraging adrenaline. It was a terrible idea long term but for short term she felt her senses sharpen until the key moment when Cell slowed the tiniest bit down. She had seen it. She had seen the exact moment he paused ever so slightly, and she felt those upper cuts disconnect her mind from her body, freezing it up and setting her up to fall victim to the next attack. It was only with that foresight that she could move. It was only because she saw it that she was able to plant her foot at that last quick, to feel the momentary relief and move her body in a slide just inches from his wild strike. The next one came, and she threw herself backwards to miss the next strike before ducking a hairs length behind the third. The next was routine, even more so with her inner sight and she rolled over, pushing her stave with pre-seen precision to push back the next strike before she drove it towards his ribs. Her goal was to disrupt his flow more than the damage him, but she spun quickly to strike his neck in a wild attempt to stall him. It didn’t really work. He recovered and moved back into his dire assault and she couldn’t move until he jumped back. Again, it was pure battle experience that saved her. The monster had shown his colors as a close ranged opponent. His vicious assault showed how much he wanted to be close to her, to personally feel her falling apart in his hands. He had no reason to flee, and even if the kai technique was rumored to carry heavy physical strain, she felt confidence pouring off him even as he pulled away. Once more a thick barrier of ki burst out around her. She fell to the ground, knees sinking in the scorched earth, but the barrier stayed up. The spirits crashed into it, ripping and tearing at her but she dropped her stave and held her head tightly as if that would give the shield more power. Maybe it did, or maybe it simply gave her the mental fortitude to keep her spirit intact from the spirits that got through. They were loud. Screaming in her head once they were released and the arguing Cell normally had with himself ran through her mind. They were so utterly loud, and they fed the madness her chaos seed provoked. She sat up, letting out a visceral scream from what did touch her. Her hands dropped from her head, and she held them tightly together, pressed to the center of her collar bone as the last passed by her, the lingering barrier of ki wrapping up in that thick black smoke as it momentarily flowed upward as if drawn there, before it sunk back to her skin. Her cloak had stayed intact. Somehow his strikes seemed to pass right through it, reaching her armor through minimal defense but it shimmered as if made of black light, woven together by something that could not be destroyed, even if it did nothing but hide the damage below it. Her hands fell beneath it, but she did not immediately rise. She looked up to the monster--missing the creature--worn down and clearly staggered, but her eyes peered at him coldly, like whatever pains she endured, he was still below her. Blood dripped out from her mouth and he was still below her. Her head tilted, as if to see what he would do next, but she spoke before he really had the chance to do anything. ”Weak. You’re still weak,” she said simply. ”Do you know what happens when two predators face off against each other?” she asked, the sense of mania growing thick in the air again. ”It’s unnatural. Two animals are not created to both want to eat each other.”She lifted herself up again, almost stumbling as she did. ”In that case,” she continued, straightening herself, ”the reality is that neither one is the actual predator.”She vanished, tapping into speed she mustered against all injury, and reappeared behind him, gun unleashed once more, his glowing red barrel erupting with the only speed and power she really had to match his. She would match it in whatever way she could, cheat or fair. Pierced: Defensive Actions: 166,070 tou, 192,203 vit Free. -1% PL from Heart Virus Free. Take A2, A3 &4A1. Insight Cell was surprised. During His assault, she had actually managed to strike back. He hadn’t reacted throughout, but once His onslaught had finished, and He slid backwards into place, He actually seemed to crack His neck. A sign of actual damage, perhaps, although there was nothing physical on Him yet. His insides were entirely bruised, internal bleeding was definitely a problem at this stage, and bones were broken beneath the impeccable shell that covered Him. But, like body armor that held Him together by force, He showed absolutely nothing externally. When the attack came from behind him, there was only an instant to react, which He managed to take, form blurring as He managed to fully backflip over the slug, His crown barely missing the massive bullet. When he landed, as though nothing had happened, he turned around to face her. “ Blah blah blah,” He said, walking right up to her. He stood face to… well, about chest height, but looked down at her to ensure their eyes met. “ Let’s talk about the truth. Tiny little girl trained in the military, probably an orphan or just disowned. Either way, no parental reinforcement. No one to teach you the fundamentals of that little thing called love.” His mental abilities weren’t working on her, but that didn’t meant that He couldn’t get underneath her skin. He tapped his crown twice before He motioned to her, “ A little goofy in the head but good with guns. You can see with ease that you’re an outcast, but you’re good so you pretend you don’t care that no one talks to you. So eager for approval by someone older than you that you chase the praise of your commanding officers and purposely ignore your own morals being squeezed out of your body as though by an overeager serpent.” The winds started to swirl around them, his power rising higher and higher, “ No one sits with you at the lunch table. No one wants to spot you in the gym and no one plays with you at recess. All your life.” Internally, his organs were righting themselves just a little bit, outer carapace reinforcing itself against attack. The air around them started to move at cutting speeds, creating a cyclone with the two of them at the eye. His body started to glow with the faintest bit of energy, which increased slowly but steadily as he spoke, speech picking up tempo as though it were an attack all on its own, " Just a little off. But you’re good at this and so you’re fine. You are the monster. You are the huntress. And that’s all you need. Because connection doesn’t interest you. It’s become so easy for you to hide that one niggling little fact.” “ You’re lonely. You don’t belong. You’re not an animal. You’re not a hunting creature with no conscious, you’re not a roaring tiger stalking the forest.” The energy in his body was overflowing now, wind striking against itself and creating thunder clashes throughout the area, “ You’re still just a lonely little girl sitting on the swings, watching the other kids play strike ball and wishing they hadn’t told you they were full up today. Hoping that tomorrow someone will be absent, just so you can play too.” “ It’s been a sad, sad life. But you were good at what you did. Weren’t you?” He pulled his hands back and cupped them together. The energy that had been forming in his body compressed into his hands and were barely contained even by his own strength. “ Ka… me… ha… me…” His body blurred into the shadows, melding with the winds until his energy caught up with her and He reappeared near enough to her face, jerking his hands out towards her and releasing an absolute maelstrom of energy, “ HA!!” ACTIONS 1. The creature walked towards her, and her guard rose, sliding into a careful stance that would help her defend or flee depending on the situation. Most likely it would be to defend. Her speed still couldn’t catch up, but her eyes flashed to the ground and environment around her as he began to speak, looking for any advantage. His words however made her blink. She looked up to him, seemingly interested in his speech. As he went on, no hurt flashed through her eyes, or even a sense of acceptance. She just looked at him, quite blankly. It was only when he began to bulge did her temperment change slightly, and she bit into her glove in response. Powered from the chemicals there, the aura of ki that still barriered her expanded and strengthened in protest to his power up. She leapt back from him, recreating the distance he had stolen and began to focus her own mind. She couldn’t defeat him in power alone, but they were on Kanassa. The psychic power was thick around them. She had come here to strengthen her mind, to fight better against the beast that was the chaos seed and to figure out her next move. On Kanassa, she could see many futures, many possibilities, and they all spanned almost endlessly here versus when she meditated back home or in her ship. Here, she was empowered, and she tapped into that power with ease, letting it fill her up and further strengthening her ki wall with pure kinetic force. He was still talking. She listened. She didn’t ignore him. Now she was listening to everything, him and all the voices he tried to silence and over power. When he finally quieted, his hands moving into an attack she smiled. ”My parents loved me very much,” she said, holding back a laugh. ”And I was a jock.”She figured the monster didn’t have much knowledge of Damaskia despite the many souls inside it. You didn’t have to simply be good, though she was, to get into the highest ranks of the Shadowguard. You couldn’t gain a position on the Chaos Council without any social skills, though some of the Chaos Lords seemed like an argument for that. You also couldn’t rise in the council without your own ambition. Higher positions often meant betraying your higher ups to steal theirs. If she was so desperate for approval she would have remained a lieutenant and never touched the commander sigal. No, she was raised kindly by xenophobic parents who loved their empire. Every Damaskian was required two years in the military, but she was praised for her continued commitment and her rise in it’s ranks. She was showered in love, approval, and admiration her whole life. If anything, she was unfamiliar with what Cell described. She was unfamiliar with not belonging, with not being right. He described her as a little off, and that she found hilarious though she held back her laugh in the face of his power. Yes, she was off, and not by a little. She was so dangerously off her rocker, and yet that was a gift too. The chaos seed was the highest honor a Shadowguard operative could receive and being able to strive despite the madness it thrust upon you was another testament to her will and her strength. It was the only thing she was a little miffed about in herself, that she couldn’t control it better, but people who did not understand True Chaos could not criticize her on it. Until they felt it digging in their mind they could not speak with understanding. She hadn’t always been off. That was a gift. Everything in her life had been a gift, until she got greedy enough to want something no one wanted to give her. She didn’t wait for the lingering syllable of his second ‘me’. She was unfamiliar with this attack considering it’s origins were on Earth, but such a battle cry could not go on for too long. Her hands rose up and the earth followed with it surrounding her tightly like a beautiful coffin he could not hope to fit inside with her though his speed probably tried to barrel through it. The power was frightening, but again, she had faced stronger. Usually not while she was this weak though. Her meat shields usually covered this type of damage before she faced the final boss. But his beam cut through her earthly shields with a crushing force. It slammed into the multiple barriers around her and was softened but even that was devastating on her weakened muscles and injured form, but her mind withstood it. Pain tried to fill up her mind but she silenced it, accepting it and breathing it in. She was thrown backward but what happened to her next Cell would not see. No, he was no longer in the forest. His power had vanished and he was back in the lab where he had been created. People were poking and prodding him, inflicting pain after pain, but it wasn’t just sadistic white coated scientists. It seemed like every soul inside him moved to have a turn. The feeling of each soul that touched Marcella was amplified by ten against the creature as each one filled his mind with constant thought that for some reason he no longer had the ability to control and push down. This perfect form, the monster, was powerless to the creature now. The votes that didn’t matter suddenly flooded to fruition and every soul inside him was against him, remembering their deaths, remembering how they were absorbed with perfect clarity that filled his mind with death and pain he could not see past. And still, the scientists worked. He was powerless, trapped inside that shell. There was no moving, no escaping. He could pour all his power out but… The words began to quiet. They began to fade away and his own consciousness was pulled with it. He had to fight back, he had to eat, but he couldn’t. He was still powerless and the instincts inside him were threatening to take over. He was turning back. He was starving. All the minds inside of him were being swallowed up, and with it his ability to speak, to walk, to fight. Everything was being taken from him, but not in the violent way he tried to take things from Marcella. No, it felt factual, like it was simple cold fact that his mind could not reason with. This is what was happening. This was where he was. Everything else was buried with the voices, lost and forgotten. One should not mess with a telepath on Kanassa. Said telepath did not move from when she had fallen, her mind settled on her task, picking him apart fear by fear with all her mental prowess. She was not the lonely one, not that she took offense, but he wanted to get personal, so she would. Let his own mind be his worry. Nine Hundred Billion And One Cell had been traveling the cosmos for decades. In that time, He had taken the souls of a number of lives that He could no longer count. But that didn’t mean that they were uncountable. With greater lives and smaller ones, there were more than nine hundred billion souls within Him. As He moved back into a fighting position, His body stopped. His body seized and began shaking. His eyes unfocused, staring approximately at where her feet would have been. This wasn’t an attack. This couldn’t have been. They were speaking. All of them. They were awake and they were telling him their stories. They each held memories and feelings, they all had a history that stopped at the same point. With Him. The Cell was a creature that had learned to cope with its captives, learned to work with them. He, however, subjugated all of them, kept them under heel and used their power as He wished. That was His method of fighting. He fought alone and used their skillset as needed, in order to accomplish His goals. But that was not how The Cell had functioned. And now it was how Cell was being forced to function. Now, a mind designed to rule had been forced to hold court. To listen to its subjugates and acknowledge all of them. As they told their stories, they left. They left him all alone. Each mind clearing out, seemingly disappearing. His power dropped with each and every departure. He looked down at his hands. He was reverting. Back to the It. Back to The Cell. Proud, strong hands became green, insectoid claws. A de-evolution of insulting proportions. But it went further. The Cell continued to revert. These insectoid hands grew thicker and the arms grew shorter. It felt its mind regressing. Back… to the first one. A bulbous body, long and huge like the most disgusting of bugs. Horns returned and it fell back onto all fours, unable to remain bipedal. Looking around, its surroundings changed as well. Through space and time it was traveling back to that laboratory, where it had been created. First, as a failed experiment to cure disease, then as a failed experiment in general. Felt more predatory and less intelligent. No longer thinking good. Now all instinct. No more self. Only hungry.
Big green water room. Home? Things swirled and changed as it was jutted forward or backward in time, the testing processes altering and changing its perspective. Green. Green? People around. White coats. Several people stared up at it with mute expressions, writing on clipboards and staring with curious eyes. There was disgust in their voices. Finally, the latches unlocked from above and a claw-like machine grabbed at the creature even as it squirmed and hissed. It was carried into another room, never touched by human hands, and subjected to tests of indescribable pain. Poking, prodding, burning, shooting, stabbing, mutilation, electrocution, nothing seemed too far. Thunk thunk thunk. Tests. Burning. Finally, it was returned to the tube and its wounds healed. It had only one word for pain, and it couldn't help but use it. Days, weeks, months later, the process was repeated. This time, it was pushed to its limit, and actually lost its life. Submerging it in liquid magma as it squirmed, cried and clawed against the walls, the scientists scribbled on their clipboards and watched with mute expressions. There was disgust in their voices. Thunk thunk thunk. Dead. Alive again. A corpse of a thing was returned to the tube and, within a month, returned back to the world of the living. The scientists wrote on their clipboards. Within another time frame, one of the scientists began to sneak in and speak to the being. Every night she would sit with it, and talk. Like talking to a plant, a reassuring and calming voice, promising things like freedom and pride. Then, one day, she came in and opened the tube, pulling the creature out. Thunk thunk thunk. Talking. Kindness? Tricks. Burning. It was returned to the testing chamber. She was at the helm of the tests this time. It didn't squirm throughout the tests the tests. While other scientists watched, she wrote in her clipboard. There was disgust in her voice also. Time and space fell apart with the repetitions of these horrifying events, of different scenarios and attempts to learn about it popping up in its minds eye like bubbles of a drown victim. Thunk thunk thunk. Tests. Burning. Burning. All around burning. Life is burning?
Life is forever this? Even the bubbles faded away into nothing. No. A voice said from deep within. This wasn’t a captured soul. Perhaps the only soul that it had never forcibly stolen. The only one that had been given. We travelled together remember? You’re bigger than this, Cell. You got bigger, I took care of you. You took care of me. Get up. We’re not done traveling together yet. It’s not real, you know. You’re better than this. You broke free, you killed them all, and then we ran together.
The voice beckoned him from elsewhere. Come back to where we are now. Come back to me and let's continue traveling together. “ Ship Friend,” Like a snap, the Being's eyes opened. Submerged in a green viscous fluid, it hung like the abject horror that it was. It squirmed and thrashed in what appeared to be a non-Newtonian liquid, for it fought harder the harder the creature fought. It took a calm movement to the glass to finally drag a single claw down through the exterior. One time didn't do it. Ten times didn't do it. But it happened. The glass cracked and broke, sending the Being sliding down to the ground on the worlds slowest slip'n slide. It remembered this room well, the surroundings flooded back into it, with all the sounds, smells and tastes surrounding it. As it began to move, the scientists flooded the room. Their clipboards were in their hands. The being pounced. Claws slashed and ran through the scientists. The looks of disgust on their faces were replaced with permanent fear. The being began to move through the laboratory, bits and pieces of its shell breaking off and allowing it to stand up completely, once again as the Creature that had travelled the stars for so long. It walked with determination to the entrance of the Laboratory. Originally, it had crawled through vents and snuck its way through the building, in fear and a self-doubting determination to make it through the facility to freedom. But now, it walked through the building with pride and certainty, straight to the exit. As it did, the souls that had abandoned it rejoined by the droves, a flood of energy following behind it, empowering it to destroy the building around it. This memory was just that. This feeling of the past would haunt it forever, perhaps, but like the shadow of far-off trees, it posed danger equivalent only to the amount of attention that was given to it. It flung the doors open. And there it felt her. She whom it had absorbed in order to reach this newest form. This form purely for overwhelming power. That it feared, but that could get the job done. It represented not only the Cell itself. But their time together. It was the escape from this memory. The way out of this nightmare. His eyes snapped into focus and looked straight at her. There was an exhale from his nostrils, hot enough to cause steam to burst forth. The electric energy started to jump and dance around him, the heat evaporating the sweat that drenched his body as the changes that had been forced upon him were reverting. The organs that had been misplaced were readjusting, the minds that had temporarily departed were awakening once more, their eternal rest once again taken from them. But this awakening was unanimous. The minds gathered as one and they seemed to share the same absolute wrath that seethed from Him. He and The Cell were of one mind on this. Kill her.His hand lifting was the preparation He gave, his energy bursting from his body and solidifying into a saucer shaped disc, glowing with the same purplish energy that covered him, as though He had put actual souls into the attack. He burst with speed through the space between them, flinging the whizzing ki at her, at such close range that it may as well have been a melee strike. From his other hand came another one, moving upwards like an uppercut, with the goal of spinning vertically along her body and continue slicing into her. He used the momentum from the attack to rise into the air, right hand jutting out at her with His left hand bracing it for support. With a thunderous war cry, the electricity that had been running along His body transferred to a burst of royal purple energy that crashed down on her last known location, causing the ground to crackle and spark with resonant energy. Without letting her relax, that same hand curled into a fist, His body surging with energy as He followed that blast straight at her, attempting to almost burst through it and pierce her straight through. But she had proven resilient. And He had learned that she had something severely wrong with her mind. Something that needed to be punished out of her. So rather than stop there, He turned around in mid air, copies of himself multiplying into the same shadow-like beings that had appeared before, exponentially. Each one of them gathered energy into a discus shape, much like the other. With any luck, He had deceived her into thinking that this one carried the same power as those. However, a serrated edge and massively higher concentration of ki revealed, ideally at the last second, that this one was capable of much, much greater and more terrible things. Hopefully more than she could handle. As though it was her birthday, and the best present had been saved for last, one of the shadow copies seemingly switched with the real Cell, reappearing above the battlefield as a whole, " Just die already," There was disgust in his voice also. With a wide, sweeping gesture, unleashed a battlefield destroying blast of outrageous energy. This poor forest had suffered trees being destroyed, entire eruptions of energy and electricity. There were even a few unexpected magma eruptions. However, this technique seemed to be much, much worse, lighting the landscape ablaze like an irresponsible deforester, and causing a crater to boot, that would leave a permanent mark on this continent's peaceful landscape. The mind could do so much. But a wrathful soul could dole out so, so much more. ACTIONS 1. Block/Overcome Nightmare. 2. Senzu Bean. [+25% ki, -50% damage/battle fatigue] Free.
