SAMPLE ROLEPLAY:
A lot of time had passed. The world he had once called home had become a cold and wretched thing for him. People he had once cared about and had come to depend on, had been the very people to put the final nails in his coffin. Literally. There was a coffin, rituals, a pyre, and the ashes scattered out to the wind.

By all rights, he should have been dead to the world, never to feel the wind on his skin again, never to hear the calls of the cicadas in the summertime, the owls hooting in the forests at night, nor the rooster's crow in the early dawn. Yet when his eyes opened, he was in a waterlogged coffin, unable to move, yet being distinctly aware of some kind of disturbance outside of the coffin. His hearing was like listening to underwater sounds from a distance. His ears, his entire body, was full of water, his limbs exceedingly heavy.

The next few hours were a blur to him. He occasionally had vague flashbacks of moonlight streaming into the coffin, of a blurry world mostly shrouded in darkness. An overwhelming pain as his entire nervous system screamed with a white-hot intensity, a thirst that burned and ravaged his throat like no pain he had ever felt before.

He remembered his body moving as if on its own, he remembered the faint impression of hot fluid splashing along his face and body, of some of it hitting his lips, and a single swipe of his tongue across it filling every cell in his body with the wildest sense of euphoria.

He remembered his body suddenly coming to a halt, and then a hard THUD as it hit soft earth, and he basked in the afterglow of....what had it been? What came after that was a series of wild flashes, bodies strewn along blood soaked grass, dead eyes staring up unseeing at the night sky, and the alien sound of blood pounding in his ears as his heart began to move the blood through his system and he experienced new life once more.

Had someone spoken to him then? Had he been overcome by a sensation of some being or creature that was unfathomably old, offering him an implicit invitation to join him in some kind of bloody crusade? Whomever it had been, Maximillion could at least recall that he hadn't said anything in return. He hadn't moved his body. His body was *warm* now, no longer waterlogged. He had thrown up huge quantities of sea water at some point, but even that was foggy.

All that remained from that time, was a feeling of apprehension, that he was probably going to meet the one who that voice belonged to; somebody old, powerful, someone who Maximillion would not be able to evade when the time for their paths crossing actually came again.
