Pent's eyes darkened, only to flash back to life moments later as his BIOs booted the scouter. "I see. This village's average power level is 1,000, but I don't see anything resembling a barracks... Given global data, I've concluded this is a civilian settlement comprised of... 10 to 14 villagers."

Character Bio: 74K1 was a third generation kill-bot designed to fight in a war that never came. When his creator company inevitably scrapped his line in favor of manufacturing Cookbots and HostTrons, he was hastily reprogrammed to serve as an industry standard Security Guard and sold off to the highest bidder- the Crimson Caravan. With his ambient personality commented away, 74K1 remained a non-autonomous unit for nearly two years.
At an unrecorded time, the Crimson Caravan's Namekian Chapter was attacked. Along with an astronomic figure in lost product, the Caravan also lost a small army of Dumb Bots, Cyborgs- and three Androids.
I know that much, he- Wait a minute. An identifying pronoun...? Yes, he thought. And autonomous thinking. Holy crap... I'm live!
As 74K1 became aware of his awareness, a sharp tap tap tapping drew his eyes up, and a face that had no statistics attached to it granted the Android a new awareness. What the... My ocular scouting program is offline? No... It's not even installed! Then how am I-
"You're seeing out of organic eyes, little friend," the face without numbers said. "But you're still thinking in binary, mostly. Would you like to see your thoughts?"
Hesitant at first, 74K1 found himself nodding, his forehead bobbing up and down on an indefinite loop.
"Binary accompanied by poorly written while loops... It ain't perfect yet, friend, but I'll have you running right in no time. My name's Saint Greplova. Break."
74K1's head stopped nodding. In the same moment, Saint Greplova turned a mounted monitor to face 74K1's isolation tank, revealing a terminal. Each line contained an executed command or a print statement; each one correlated to something, both consciously and unconsciously, 74K1 had done.
"You're missing quite a few components, but... Well. It's not every day an Enforcer Unit falls into my lap, and I just happened to have a special sort of... Let's say... Motherboard, that was compatible with all of your bits and bobbles." Saint Greplova crouched down to eye level, and pressed his palm against the isolation tank's glass. "You're not some run of the mill Enforcer anymore, lad. You'll notice you've been stripped of your Anti-Grav systems, your scouter, and your Ki-Disruptor... In addition, your RAM cards were damaged, along with your cooling fan, GPU, and heatsink. Luckily, your CPU survived the attack, so you're still... You."
"I'm... Me...?"
"Yes. And what shall we call you, Enforcer?"
The Android... No... He was no longer an Android. The creature pressed its nails into its palms until its skin split open, yet no blood leaked out. "I... Don't... Know... What... I... Am."
Saint Greplova chuckled. "Fair enough. I'll give you a hint, then. There's something... ethereal, pent up inside you. Not quite organic, in the traditional sense, but not machinery, either."
"Something... Pent. Pent. Pent..." The creature found itself iterating the same output. Despite his best efforts, Greplova could not untangle the creature's broken code quickly enough, and aborted the run to avoid a meltdown.
Yet the bug stuck in his mind, and became the name of his pet project. It would be one year before Project Pent concluded, and the creature was set loose on Namek.

"Namekians are... Green."
"That's right. Not the keenest observation, but... True. Yes."

"Don't worry about that," Saint Greplova fished around his carrier bag, and produced a purple Gen1 Scouter. "You can use one of these, for now. It'll be quite a bit like your old integrated scouter. Normally, you'd need to use your fingers to operate it."
"Peripherals are... Inefficient."
"Maybe so." Despite his protest, Saint Greplova attached the scouter to Pent's ear. "Fortunately, you're not a purely organic creature, so we can use this cable here..." Greplova fished a short wire from his carrier bag, and used it to connect Pent's Gen1 Scouter to a small port hidden behind the creature's ear. "So this peripheral will be able to piggy back off of your internal systems. For you, it'll operate almost identically to an integrated scouter. A bit slower, I'll grant you that, but effectively the same."
"Very good. Your objective is to meet each of the villagers in order to learn about this region. If they have requests, fulfill them. If they offer lessons, learn from them. When you've exhausted this village's resources, move on to the next and repeat. Your ultimate goal is to locate and salvage the remains of Enforcer Models 74K2 and 75K3. You are to return to me if you receive significant damage, or once you've located one of your siblings. Does this register, Pent?"
"True."
[/font]"Very good. Best of luck, my boy. You have a direct line of contact with me, if you need it."
Saint Greplova embraced his creation tightly, and then departed swiftly. When Pent sensed his creator had gone, he turned his attention back to the Namekian Village.
It was time to get to work.
