It was another day where the days training was followed by a trip to the Astral Realm. He emerged in ruins he recognized to be an area that lied beyond the borders of the major Cities of Planet Kelioux, bordering an obscure City known as Euthperis. There were dirt roads, some greenry a distance away and remaining temples in the area. The boy thought back to his fight against the Damaskian Commander Aria in an attempt to make her answer for her attack on Vita and destruction of a planet known as Madaline IX. Despite the danger, it was a battle he remembered fondly, for the most part. He held his own and proved to not be the same as he was the first time they fought, even so he was on the losing side of the war of attrition and retreated as per the demand of the Commander who may have otherwise killed him horribly and agonizingly. It didn't sit well with him to walk away from a battle especially from an enemy that needed to be brought to justice, but he knew it was wise to take the opportunity to leave with his life and fight her again when he was more prepared, though he wasn't sure when he'd have any chance to fight when he was more prepared, though he didn't when he'd find the Commander again. Last he saw of her she sacrificed herself to become essence and leave the Scarlet Mage's maze. It was disappointing thinking he may have missed his chance to see a fight her to a decisive end. At least the fact she resorted to suicide to escape the mage gave him material for a comeback if Aria decided to make fun of him for retreating from their last battle.
Thinking back to that fight, he was reminded of the time him and Yua went somewhere to fight to help learn to control his powers. In hindsight, he would have learned how significant an advantage Android's had in the fact they did not experience fatigue if he went through with it. Joseph felt like he shouldn't have let Ghost take him away from that fight, especially given the fact what Ghost requested him for wasn't dire. As the saying went "Hindsight is 20/20." but he wouldn't dwell on those things. He improved since then and knew what do next time he saw Aria and felt ready for her.
The walked through the ruins looking around scanning around the ruined lands that served as the battlefield against the shortstack murderbot. He then remembered that Mona attended the Kelioux Academy before leaving and noted to look for her the next time he was actually on the planet. Joseph stopped at the end of a cliff and looked at the City that in the distance beyond. "I should ask about Mona at the Academy. I wonder if I brought her with me instead of Bruce would we have beat Aria."

"I doubt you could have defeat Aria with you and Mona at the time. Damaskia is not such an easy opponent, Joe" Yua said from below the cliff as she rose up from it. She had been in the Astral Realm to examine what was within the Keliouxian ruins and had wondered if Joseph had heard about the little skirmish that Yua and Mona had had. It wasn't even that far away from his home town. If Yua had not of been careful about where she had dragged Mona, it was likely that Joseph would have been forced to come out and see what all the fuss was.
As it was, she had instead placed the Saiyan mage into a hospital away from his town. It would likely be best if Mona and Joseph spent a little more time apart since Mona seemed to not be herself. Not once did Yua see anything that resembled magic, though the ability to stop time could have been considered that. The android had her arms folded and well, she did not look happy at all. But that was also some concern that she had for Mona and her safety after the Epyon system had tried to kill her.
"But the real question is, how are you today?" Yua knew that androids were a bit tough for some people to get over. It also depended on the model of android that one fought. For example, Yua was an offensive type with defensive capabilities that was able to take on Mona. And it was likely that had the fight dragged on, Mona's ability to just constantly fire off ki attacks would have drained her faster than the damage she could have dished out to Yua. But that was because she had thought that Mona had went too hard too quickly. Yua had not even been worse down before the big attacks had came out.
Yua had on her battle gown, but to Joe, it wouldn't really look all that different. Her weapons were the short swords this time, the blade from Damaskia that had been gifted and the morphed weapon took on a different sword that would be her main hand that was only slightly longer than the short sword. She had on a lighter armor than when she had fought Mona, since at that time she had prepared for an actual fight that could have gone to the death.

Joseph looked down at the sound of Yua's voice. She answered his question and he watched her as she rose up from beneath the cliff. He thought about what she said about doubting him and his mage friend could have surmounted the Damaskian commander. He liked to have that that strength in numbers would have made a great difference, however he was always more powerful than Mona even if it was just marginally and he couldn't do much damage to the commander's armor Mona's spells probably wouldn't have been much different. Plus Mona was human at the time, the transition to Saiyan didn't boost her base abilities but it gave her the power of Super Saiyan which she could put behind her spells and sword techniques and Joseph didn't think even that would have been enough. Not to mention she was prone to burning out from using too much magic or ki. "Yeah, probably not but I'll get there," he said as he sat down on a rock.
"How would you know Mona wouldn't have made that much of a difference? Do you know about the fight we got in with Vampire ladies or did you hear about all the times she's been beaten up?" Yua lived up to her background as a living computer. She surprised him with the things she knew sometimes. He didn't even know she he use to hang out with Mona. Yua then asked how he was today, as was one of the motions of conversation, which he didn't mind. The cliches persay were the hammers and nails of communication. "I'm fine. What about you" Joseph said. The Android had a melancholy look, he wondered what was ailing the Android's mood.

Well. That answered her question, he hadn't heard about the beating Yua had given to Mona, or the stabbing. Or the attempt to make her unable to move with a very powerful attack. That was well enough, but she wondered just what he knew, and what he wasn't told by Mona. If they had spoken at all, frankly. She was not sure on the limits of magic, since to her, there shouldn't be any. Magic was supposed to make the impossible, possible. That was how she viewed magic, and abhorred it for that very reason. It existed to break the natural rules of the universe and nature, and so she held distain for such a process or power. It didn't matter which one it was, honestly. Luckily, though, it seemed that Joe agreed after some thought. "You'll get there?" She gave him a stern look. He was gonna make his mother cry again if he died. Hell, she had half a mind to stop this and go see her right now.
But, he gave her a question and now things heated up. So he didn't know, and he was ignorant of their skirmish. Yua had always been truthful with Joseph, it was almost like a cornerstone of their friendship. In some cases, what little partnership that they had had in the past year or so. Yua looked over at Joseph and folded her arms before she sat back in the air like the android had her own chair. "I had a match with Mona. I was suspicious of her, and to be frank, I deeply distrust magic. As a being that exists only by logic, it goes against something deep within me. The end of the match was when she burned herself out of ki. But what made me disturbed was the way that she... threatened the city that I found her near."
Was it the Saiyan in her? Ah, but that was racist, since Joe wasn't like that. No, she didn't entertain that idea. Yua added, "She seemed unable to use much magic. I guess she stopped time brief enough to dodge some of my attacks, but that was all that she was able to do." That could have meant a few things, but perhaps she was cut off from magic. And since it was an integeral part of mages, it messed with her head? But that was speculation. "I made sure that she was in the finest hospital by the end of our bout," Yua added, in case he would ask, but her eyes narrowed then, "I advise not to visit her until I can make sure that her mental malady has calmed down. But of course, I can't stop you."

The way Yua repeated what he said so questioningly and the way she looked at him took him by surprise and caused some worry. The stern look reminded him of the way his mom looked at him during times he lapsed in judgement. "What?" Joseph asked. He said as he wondered what he had said wrong. Sometimes talking to her was awkward, though that was how he often felt whenever she approached him and tried to engage with him whenever he was out and about, he enjoyed those moments even if he was never sure of her angle. She was nice though, sometimes intimidating, but nice.
Yua went on to float in a position like she was sitting in a chair. He thought it was pretty cool. The Android explained that she had a match with his old mage friend and that she was suspicious of her and distrusted magic in general how it went against something deep in her. Joseph looked at her intrigued as well as concerned, he had no idea she felt that way. However, the parts about what his friend did perturbed him. "Threatened a City? That doesn't sound like her." Joseph said.
The Android went on to explain that Mona seemed unable to use that much magic. Something he also found quite strange. She commanded all types of Magic, her home planet ran on it. What could be going on with her? "I get it, something that goes outside of and subverts what you were programmed to comprehend doesn't sit well with you." Though she may have seemed diffident to share her unfavorable stance of magic, he wouldn't hold it against her. Why would he? He address the other things she said. "Freezing Time is her signature move, but no glyphs? Water Attacks? She didn't turn into someone else?" Joseph rested cheek on his hand and sighed. "That doesn't make any sense. She has saved people, saved cities. We were even going to stop an invasion on Yardrat before some of Lilim's guys attacked me and jumped in to help me when that happened." He didn't want to believe it, but Joseph knew she wouldn't lie about it. There wasn't any reason for her too. Plus it he would have been able to find the truth otherwise.
Hearing that she was taken to a good hospital was somewhat assuring though she recommended against him seeing her. That brought a twinge of frustration to the boy but he could understand why. "Mona was probably just trying to bait you so you wouldn't dodge or something. Still, its unlike her. I remember her telling me and Master Roshi that its cowardly to hide your true power. So I think she'd consider that even more beneath her." He frowned. "Maybe I should give her space while she figures things out, but what if she needs help? I'm her friend. I should do something."

What? What?! Yua would have slapped the shit out of Joseph if she didn't know him better. He was a child, with a child's mentality. He was strong, but undiciplined and needed guidence. Even if he went to the Kelioux Academy, until he officially joined as a Scholar, there was only so much guidence that they'd give him. Yua decided that this was another subject to talk with his mother about, though she was sure that his parents would find it strange that an adult spoke to them about their son. She'd have to either use a child-like android chassis to initiate the conversation or pretend to be from the Academy. Or maybe she could have someone from the Academy have her as a bodyguard or something. "I'll explain it to you later," she decided.
"Sometimes being a friend means to let that person figure things out by themselves. Mona knows more about herself and her body than you do, after all. There's only so much that you can do. The hospital staff are better equipped to deal with her than you think," Yua offered this as advice. She had taken Mona to a hospital that also had mental health facilities within to help her as well, if she chose to take advantage of it. But she also needed Joe to understand that there were areas that he was not experinced in. She didn't know if it was exactly a good idea for someone, a kid in fact, that had no training to help someone that was a bit disturbed, as she saw it.
"No," she decided to answer is other questions. She shook her head and folded her arms, "She used that Time Freeze magic and fired off a lot of Kamehameha attacks. I was forced to defend the lands around us as well as whatever else she randomly attacked. You can still likely find the craters, but I assure you that my systems would have sent me into a berserk state if she had used actual magic." It was a failsafe to ensure her own safety in the end. A sort of state to not think so that her systems didn't get a burnt copper smell after trying to compute too much about the logical impossibilities. "Nor did she really turn into anyone else. She did use a big sword, but as you probably know, I had the superior sword skills." It wasn't a brag, but just a statement of fact. Yua's chassis, the Epyon System, and every training modular that she had at her disposal made her a rather deadly combatant with a sword, when it came to life of death.
"I will give her credit," Yua said, as a sort of sandwich to what she had said earlier, "She did break one of my swords with one of her beams." She made a quick replica in the realm of what the Morphing Weapon had looked like when it shattered, with just the hilt left over and the blade about the size of a butter knife. "I was just lucky it was my sword that I can reform." She hadn't really shown him what the morphing weapon could do. He'd find wthat out when the two eventually squared off in their own skirmish, on the Android's time.

"Ok," Joseph said in response to Yua saying she'd explain it to him later. It was nice knowing there'd be an explanation for her sudden disgruntlement. Yua moved on to explain the situation with Mona. In all honesty the fact there was a fight didn't surprise him, knowing her and her jaundice attitude toward magic and her...theatric way of going about things sometimes; Yua saw her, dragged her out the City and Mona was provoked to start blasting. The detail of her targeting a City wasn't something his assessment would lead him to infer. The lack of magic was disappointing to hear, but he appreciated that it at least prevented Yua from going into a berserk state. Joseph listened as she further advised against intervening in Mona's situation. He didn't much like the idea of not helping, but Yua was right that Mona knew more about her situation than he did. "I guess it's best to give her space. She'll know how to find me if she wants my help."
Yua's break down of the fight of the fight was surprising. From what he knew of Yua's abilities and Mona's fighting style, he would have expected the Mage to shoot out a barrage of Magic Missiles from her glyphs and take on the Avatar form of one of her planet's swordsman to match Yua's skill of the blade. The fact that she managed to break one of Yua's sword was quite impressive regardless of the fact she could reform it. Mona kept up with him in terms of power growth so Joseph was sure he could do the same thing. He looked at her change to how the blade looked when it was destroyed by the Mage. The morphing weapon was was something he found quite interesting when it came to Yua's arsenal. It was one of many things that made him eager to fight her for real.
"Cool." Hey Yua, what are you made of, exactly?"

What was she made of? Quite the complex answer, honestly. She looked at him and tilted her head as she answered in this way, "I can't tell you that before we fight. I don't want to give you any advantage other than those that you already have. If my scanners and calculations about your power growth are correct, then you have surpassed my chassis' abilities in all ways expect strength in base form. Perhaps even fully transformed." It wasn't that she wanted to give him something akin to false hope that she'd go easy on him. Not that believed that he wanted that, in the first place, he was a bit like Shaoran when she first met him. Always up for a heroic challenge. Expect that Shaoran was a lot more cynical and jaded. She didn't want that for Joe, since she had seen how hollow it had made the Saiyan warrior.
She believed that Joseph needed much more training, though, he didn't have a lot of training that he could do on Earth without fighting. That was why she wanted this to be on a planet that she knew could withstand the blows and was a lot more deserted than Earth was. Too many buildings and lives to worry about. It was a part of her training, her learning, and what remained of her origonal programming. So much of that origional programing was gone, thanks to the ritual that she had undergone, that she would hold onto what remained, selfishly if she must.
Yua then spun around in the air, as she thought about what else that the two could talk about. She decided on a question for the boy, "If you could pick, Joe, would you remain a warrior forever, or would you rather be a family man?" Probably a strange one for him, but her eyes were determined to know the answer.

"Ok," Joseph said. It was fair that she didn't want to tell him about what materials she was composed of before the fight. He wouldn't want to know before the fight if it would give him a tangible advantage. Plus he had things of his own was chosing not to divulge before they fought. Such as Super Saiyan 2 and the Fire-based abilities he learned on Caldron.
Yua then went on to ask him a personal question, one he didn't expect. "I haven't thought about picking one or the other." Joseph thought for a moment. "I don't know, both probably. My dad still fights."
