Mira VS Juch
Juch — 01/09/2023 10:19 AM
Overall, it was quite a difference experience than what Juch had been initially expecting. It had started off so serene and calm. Now it was different compared to the outside.
The abandoned farmstead living room was a grim sight. Cobwebs covered the corners of the room and the windows, and layers of dust covered every surface. The once white walls were now a yellowish brown color, and the floorboards creaked underfoot.
The only source of light in the room was the flickering glow of the television, which was tuned to a channel with only static. The screen flickered and danced, casting eerie shadows around the room. The smell of decay and rot filled the air, making it hard to breathe.
In the corner of the room, a moth-eaten couch sat, its cushions sagging and covered in grime. An old coffee table with chipped and peeling paint sat in front of it, its surface cluttered with empty soda cans and fast food wrappers.
"At this point I couldn't tell if they were forced out in a hurry like a sudden disconnect or if they just simply left it as this," Juch muttered to Mira as he stepped around the empty pizza box on the ground and moved to the television. He pressed at the power button, but nothing happened.
Repeated presses didn't change that at all.
Shell Mira Towa — 01/10/2023 9:53 AM
Mira looked around the room and the sign of just how long and beat up this place had been left like this was obvious. How long specifically was hard to tell, but it was certain they had been abandoned for some time. That or it was designed this way, but who would design a place this way?
The smell of the room was pungent and made Mira want to turn off his ability to smell, but he knew his senses were important. It was more important if this place was really a haunted house, or if the strange feelings they had up to this point since entering the house were with merit. He wanted to be ready for anything.
The android flared his aura out a little bit, the fiery blast touched the cobwebs causing them to chain burn away in a pretty cool light show. He looked at Juch, "Learned that trick a long time ago. Makes it a little cleaner to not have the cobwebs all over."
Then the attention went to the Television. Juch tried to turn it off, but nothing happened. Mira tilted his head, "Remote is probably dead, likely a battery issue." He figured looking at the scene Juch had figured that out. If nothing else he could have shocked the remote with power, it might work.
Then Mira remembered a movie he watched one time, "I saw a movie where a little girl crawled out of a static filled Television and killed people. Maybe someone will crawl out of the television?"
Juch — 01/10/2023 10:18 AM
The cobwebs burst into what was akin to sprinklers at a fireworks show--a shimmering glimmer of a flash, illuminating the room for a brief moment. It certainly was a welcome touch given what the two of them had seen so far and Juch nodded in appreciation; it was not only nice, but also a display of Mira's ki control. Just a little too much and he may set something else other than cobwebs on fire, and given how small his target was, it was a really precise release of energy.
Very impressive.
"At this point, if we do stay around here for a decent while, I'll definitely have to clean this up," Juch shook his head. With a point of his finger, the clutter on the floor was at least moved out of the way so they didn't trip on anything going forward.
He then turned his attention back to the screen. Mira's suggestion was responded with a soft 'mhm' as the Scholar turned around, heading away from the living room to see where some extra batteries would be stored, "I remember watching movies in the realm with that pink monster; he played a bit of dress up based on the sort of movie we finished. It was probably the most peaceful time I had with him," Juch remarked; no doubt Menoetius remembered that period of time as well.
But at Mira's words, a shadowy figure appeared on the screen, "Oh, speak of the devil--I'm going to look for some batteries. I guess if the phone rings, don't pick it up. I don't even know what a curse for seven days in the astral realm would even mean," chuckling to himself, Juch continued to head out of the room as something slowly reached out of the screen and onto the living room floor with a slithering growl.
Shell Mira Towa — 01/10/2023 11:17 AM
Mira titled his head as the television became a point of interest. Juch even mentioned watching movies with the pink demon back in the day. The tingle in his mind from the titan showed that it was a memory that he had as well. Maybe he could watch movies through the titan's powers in the future? The ancient being had an divine memory of things and if nothing else maybe he could suggest something to watch during the flights from planet to planet.
Juch started moving to find batteries, but as he started to move and after Mira had suggested the movie, an image appeared on the screen. The scholar made a joke about not answering the phone and getting an Astral Realm curse. It caused Mira to smirk slightly at the idea that he would be worried about a curse.
As Juch moved towards the door though something slowly reached out towards them, onto the floor and a slight growl was released.
"Seems we have a guest." Mira said, calmly holding his hand out ready to blast it away, "I'm going to assume you will want to see what happens first and not just blast it and probably this building away?"
Juch — 01/11/2023 12:42 AM
The room was dark, save for the blue light emanating from the old television set in the corner. It had been years since anyone had watched it, but the static-filled screen still flickered with an eerie energy. Suddenly, in addition to the growl, a strange noise came from the speakers. It sounded like something scratching at the glass, trying to break through. Mira's words caught his attention more than anything else, as it wasn't just part of the show, but an actual being is starting to break the barrier that was the screen. Juch paused and whirled around.
As the scratching grew louder, a figure began to take shape on the screen. It was a monster, its twisted body crawling out of the static and into the room. Its eyes glowed red in the darkness, and its mouth was filled with razor-sharp teeth, "I'm curious to see what else this house holds. Let's hold off with just destroying everything--just yet," Juch replied with a small smile, "But if it gets too boring, then at least let me go outside to move our little experiment out of the blast radius."
If they were just regular people, then as onlookers, Juch and Mira may be paralyzed with fear as the monster continued to crawl out of the screen, its body becoming more and more solid with each passing second. Soon, it was fully formed and standing before them, a terrifying sight to behold. But unfortunately for the monster, Juch and Mira were anything but ordinary.
It let out a deafening roar as it lunged at its prey, its razor sharp claws ready to tear them apart, "Oi oi, are you serious?" with a wave of his hand, Juch directed the pile empty cans and discarded scraps to lunge forth, meeting the monster midair and slamming it back down onto the ground. Obviously, it was a sitting duck for whatever Mira had in store.
Shell Mira Towa — 01/11/2023 9:40 AM
A slithering beastly looking creature. Mira's eyes narrowed, trying to identify exactly what kind of monster this was as it came out of the television. Juch had suggested not blowing the entire place up, so for now, he would oblige, but interest was then the next thing to set in.
The ferocious looking monster shrieked once more as it got free from the television jumping towards the scholar who impressively dealt with the problem. Mira took a few steps forward, the beast tried to get up, before the shadowguard agent jumped into the air and crashed a foot down on its neck pinning it to the ground. The monster tried to turn, but the might of the time traveler kept him down. It went to shriek once more, but as it opened its jaw, Mira grabbed the top of the mouth, slamming his other foot higher up on the head as he pulled it back, breaking the neck of the creature.
As it died though it did not remain a corpse; simply the monster of the beast faded into a random assortment of color speckles that went back into the television. As the last of the speckles went in, the television turned off. No more static, it was now just off.
Mira looked at Juch and shrugged, "Guess we won't end up needing those batteries after all." He starting looking around again, to which room and which direction would they end up going next?
Juch — 01/11/2023 10:55 AM
A brutal execution. The monster had no chance, being pinned under Mira before a vicious crack echoed in the air. No body left behind--rather, just like how Mira dealt with the cobwebs, the creature disappeared in a pretty light show. Various sparks of light that made up the static returned to the television screen, leaving little else other than the sounds of rain pitter pattering on the roof.
It seemed that the rainfall outside continued to grow in intensity. The rain pattered against the windows, creating a soothing background noise as it cascaded down the glass. The drops were large and heavy, and they splattered against the dirt paths, creating small puddles that reflected the dim star lights outside; but soon, those puddles melted away into clumps of mud as the rain continued. The air was thick with moisture, and the smell of wet earth and damp mold filled the air. The wind howled through the fields, whipping the rain into a frenzy as it lashed against the abandoned farm.
Even further out, from the homestead and the broken fences; beyond the outreaches of the dusty barn, the livestock seemed rather content throughout all of this. The rain fell in heavy sheets, drenching the fields and the cows grazing on them. The cows huddled together for warmth, their thick coats matted and dripping with water. The rain made the grass slick and shiny, and the cows moved slowly as they nibbled at the soggy plants. The sound of the rain was a constant drumming on the leaves and the ground, creating a symphony of nature.
The sky was a deep gray, and the clouds hung low, obscuring the tops of the trees. Lightning flashed in the distance, illuminating the fields in a brilliant white light. The cows didn't seem to mind the storm, they continued grazing contentedly, their tails swishing back and forth to shoo away the flies. The rain continued to pour down, turning the fields into a sea of mud and creating small streams that flowed through the pasture. It was a peaceful scene, the cows and the rain creating a sense of tranquility in the midst of the wild storm.
Juch looked at the remote in his hand before nodded, placing it on the table nearby, "I guess we don't," he agreed as another groan grumbled throughout the house. A crisp click sounded somewhere upstairs, as if something was unlocked.
"Well, it looks like it's time to head to the second floor."
Shell Mira Towa — 01/11/2023 9:17 PM
Mira's execution of the monster left little doubt that he was certainly not playing around. Maybe it was not necessary, but it was fun for him.
He did have one question in his mind, "So the webs that was flame control, but this body dematerialized basically to physical harm. Is that normal? I don't recall that being normal in this realm."
They both heard the grumbles from above. It seemed more guests in the house existed and certainly were not happy with how Mira had dealt with the television monster. Maybe things would actually end up getting interesting now.
