Nova was born on Earth to a family of middle-class humans, Greg and Lia. Though they weren’t extremely wealthy Nova’s childhood was rather normal and he never really had to struggle for much. His parents were hardly home due to work so most of his time was spent training at a local dojo. During his time there he found a passion for martial arts and sought to learn and practice as much as he could. However, near his graduation his sensi was murdered by a group of thugs just outside of the dojo. Afterwards, Nova fell into a depression that would last multiple years. He soon found himself in a situation where he wasn’t really sure which direction to take his life due to lack of guidance from his parents in his youth. One day while sitting in his living room watching tv he saw a commercial for the Paladins. The Paladins were a military group that protected the Avalon Protectorate. Much to his surprise he found himself with a drive and purpose once again. His new goal would be to join the Paladins and become a beacon of hope for freedom and oppression. After a ton of paperwork and patience he was accepted into the academy. He said farewell to his parents and ventured into his future.

The room hummed with the sound of small vibrations. His eyes were shut, his soul and mind were open to the knowledge that the gods would offer. His heartbeat slowed and his breaths became deeper. The humming began to fade, and his mind drifted into a holy meditation. For a moment there was nothing, an empty darkness that nothing could escape. Then there was a rush of light, a holy light, one that filled the body with rejuvenating life. He could not afford to lose his concentration before the meditation session was over. His mind stayed focused on the spiritual essence that formed before him.
Young one, what is it that you seek?
Nova focused his heart on the question, “I seek your insight on the path that lays before me.”
There was a brief pause from the spiritual essence, “You are not yet ready for the knowledge I can bestow to you.”
The man raised his brow keeping his eyes shut. His link to the meditation had begun to slip too soon, “What must I do to become worth of the knowledge?”
You must seek the one who will unlock your potential, only then can you receive the knowledge you seek.
“Very well.” Nova said as he opened his eyes.
The light faded in an instant and the humming sounds returned. He had been meditating in a temple on the planet Kelioux. The temple was old and falling apart. The tiles that once shined were now mostly deteriorated and the pillars that held it up were now breaking apart. It was old but was said to hold the strongest connection to the gods. Nova placed his feet gently on the ground. His body felt slightly drained from the meditation session that had just occurred. He was not expecting the meditation to drain him so quickly. Afterall he was just a novice in the ways. He scratched his head and sighed as disappointment filled his mind. He stood there for a moment placing both hands on his hips.
Ahh well. It would have been too easy if they just gave me the answers.
He heard a chirping noise near the entrance of the temple. He glanced over to see his droid companion waiting for him eagerly. The small droid started hopping around and making excited chirping noises as Nova casually made his way towards him.
His heart warmed as the droid crawled up his back to rest on his shoulder, “Alright little buddy, lets head back to the academy.”
