Once again, Pain had missed the setting of night on Cactaylisma. Though he'd traveled there with that singular purpose, other matters had gotten in the way. It was a shame, he longed to witness the dancing lights of the crystalline planet. It would be years before the next opportunity arose - perhaps he would manage then. He'd disappointedly departed to Avalon, continuing to retrace the steps of his past. It was the only way he knew to rediscover what he'd lost - who he'd been - and to fully understand who he'd become. Meditation helped to still his mind in the quiet parts of the day, and it was into a deep meditative trance that he retreated once more, this time seating himself upon a rock surrounded by the Cougon Plains.
As he fell into the trance, Pain found himself standing in a dim plane, the bounds of which he could not sense. Whether the nondescript dimness extended infinitely, he could not tell. "Hello?" he called in a voice that was not his own, but that had once been. If it chose, the abyss would answer.

Amelia was sitting in her study crossed leg, eyes closed. Body still as she focused on the gem of telepathy to form the connection between her consciousness and the immaterial plain known as the Astral Realm. Mona had said that it made for a good space to find potential opponents and served as a space for reflection and study. Amelia often made herself busy in the realm conversing with the people she met often leading to sparring matches or amiable conversation, before outcomes she liked indulging in. The realm beckoned and took her mind to a dim plain that spanned a distance beyond what her eyes could perceive.
The woman crossed her arms as she turned to each side to take in scenery. It was a simplistic setting, but she could appreciate the peacefulness of the setting. Amelia basked in the silence, closing her and lending herself to her thoughts until a voice signaled that she was not alone. She opened her eyes and turned toward the figure. "Oh, hello there," Amelia said to the figure smiling. "What brings you here?" she asked.

"What brings you here?"
Pain considered the question. Had meditation brought him there? His quest for discovery? Decisions in his past life?
"I do not know," he replied despondently. He turned his attention to analyzing the woman. She appeared to make no effort to hide her capabilities. He mused on that for a moment. Could she be so powerful that this was her suppressing herself?
"I return the question. What brings you here? Perhaps your answer can help me decipher my own purpose in the Astral Realm," he continued at last.

"I find the Astral Realm to be a good place for reflection on my studies and also a safe space to practice my spells. Not to mention it often brings me to colorful characters such as yourself so that's a plus," Amelia answered.
"Deciper your purpose? I'd be happy to help you with that." Amelia manifested a broomstick and sat down on it as it levitated into the air. She thought for a moment and did a full spin around while she thought about what the Android said.
"Well from what I've read about this incoproal dimension is that the manifested setting is often influenced by memories and even subconscious thoughts." Amelia touched her chin as she thought about it. "What does this setting mean to you?"
