The Dual-Souled Avenger 411/411 Soul watched his counterpart inspect the stove over with a critical eye, the attitude of Zyren causing a slight grin to arise on the other Saiyan's face. He rubbed a speck of something off of it, then nodded, once, to himself and certainly not to Soul. He was glad that Zyren was taking the initiative to do things on his own, even if one of those things was cooking of all things. It seemed to be one of the only things that could drag the boy out of his shell, and with a flare of warmth from the induction stovetop, Zyren began. He took a hunk of meat from the fridge and practically threw the thing onto the cutting board without a care in the world of what was done to it, then dressed it quickly with his hands. Ki and the boy's strength made short work of it and any undesirables, and within just a few moments meat was sizzling over the stove as whatever was tossed out made its way down a chute to the compost system in the ship. Soul knew the boy could dress and identify what was eatable thanks to his extensive childhood of eating anything and everything in the wilderness to the point where it came secondhand to him, even when it came to animals he didn't know like a sixth or seventh sense of sorts. Even he himself would carefully test each piece of something, but Zyren... I wonder if it's the boy's sense of smell, he wondered, He did grow up with no light, so even after years, his hearing and smell are much better than my own. Outwardly, he was looking forward to whatever his twin-of-sorts made today, since it was always something different when it came to the boy's creations. "How long?"Soul asked Zyren, not bothering to try and have a conversation with his counterpart when he knew the hybrid wouldn't want it. The boy sniffed, rotated the meat, and looked at the time, "Twenty? No. Maybe fifteen. You will know."Soul nodded, jumped up on the counter, and calmed his breathing as he attuned to the gem fashioned into a bracelet on his left wrist. Almost immediately, the sweet smells of meat cooking and spices faded, quickly replaced by a world that he plopped into as he looked around, seeming to be in a city of sorts. Was he the first here, or did he pop into someone else's manifestation?

The Dual-Souled Avenger 217/628 Soul felt the light rain pitter-patter across him and he lightly smiled, enjoying the rain and surprisingly missing it much like the embrace of a long-lost lover and making him pause from the abruptness of the wistful thoughts that galivanted through him. He glanced left and right, noting the umbrellas and the people that busied themselves to-and-fro, and tried to focus on a few to ask directions from before he stopped himself. He knew they had faces, yet when he focused on one that was coming up to him, it was blurry much like an old memory that he couldn't quite recall; something he had quite the practice in when it came to his amnesia. There was a scientist that had a term for this, he pondered, not quite recalling it and zoning out a bit before he felt the rain suddenly stop and a shadow to pass overhead. The Saiyan glanced upward, then smiled at the woman that was kindly shielding him from the rain, knowing that this person was the other person here. "Thank you, Miss. What's your name?" He asked, his eyes on her hair as he thought, Pretty. "After you?" he said, then started to take a step, wondering if she'd follow suit or take the lead.

The Dual-Souled Avenger 266/894 Soul almost paused as her voice reached his ears, and he cocked his head a bit, digesting the bit of an accent much like an sommelier would when they tried a new wine. However, he matched her slow pace, first looking at the crowd and partly wondering if he needed to watch where to go, but quickly figuring out that they stayed clear of him and the woman. Occasionally, however, he'd steal a glance at her, wondering who she was and why she seemed to be absorbed into the indistinguishable faces before trying to figure it out himself and look at the strangers that they passed. He turned his head to glance at her again and froze for barely a second as he met her gaze before glancing away, then swallowed as he took in a small breath. Take two."You're right, it wasn't the politest I should've been, and for that, you have my apologies." He said easily, testing her almost as he continued; "I do, however, want to try again. It's not everyday that someone wants to know my name. Are you wanting to one of my various titles, my name here or from where I was from, or my true name? I fear that some of them may come off as boasting, while others may put me down. Some may be too personal, and others not personal enough."He walked a few more steps, silence following his statement like a passing cloud before he turned turned his head to look at her and asked with a mischievous tone; "Which would you like, Miss?"

Soul gave her a studious look as he debated which name to give her, his mind a whirl after the revelation that she knew the importance of true names. They did have power and under nefarious purposes...it could spell the end in a variety of ways for the victim.
"Sadly, I don't even know if the true name that I could give you would technically work for me anymore." He hinted, his intent of confusion true, for he was missing too many memories. Could it give the other sway over him? Possibly...but probably not.
Not with how splintered my soul is.
He turned his head away to look up at one of the countless buildings and continued with honest words dabbled a bit in regret, "Therefore, I cannot, as much as I'd like to keep my word that I would...so I won't ask you to do the same for fairness. Call me Soul. That will have power enough, I think...and I'm with the Scholars."
The Saiyan looked back at her and asked his question quietly now that he fulfilled his end of her request by giving his name first: "Now...what may I call you?"

His eyes shook at her remark because it was true, because it caused a thrum to shake the core of his being. Soul frowned as he tried to hide fists that barely shook at his sides and cleared his throat and tried to shake his troublesome thoughts with the rest of their conversation.
"Nice to meet you, Sitka."
He would say with a light smile, the expression earnest, yet also forced. He had to distract himself and he figured that her name was just as fake...or as real as his. Soul nodded at her interest of books, but he figured he'd continue their little game of back and forth of testing one another before answering her question.
"Tied down, huh?" he remarked with a wry grin and raised eyebrow, an unspoken question floating before him as he looked at her, then waved a hand dismissively, "The Trans-Dimensional Theory of how Ki Affects the Soul."[/color] He paused, them added with a bit more animated interest, "Its a bit of a slog and the author could've written it better, but his passion is there along with well enough logic. Id give it an overall seven out of ten. What are you looking to peruse?"
