Yan
The weight of Anna’s decision had begun to press on him even before the Paopu fruit. Even without knowing her as he once had he could feel a listlessness about her. In some ways, he wondered what attracted him to her in the first place, because they way she was now, while cute, certainly wasn’t what made him throw his life away for her. She was a bit…boring. Just a tad, but it wasn’t normal air headed boring house wife. There was emptiness there. Emptiness he caused.
Now, after the fruit, he could blame her for these choices. They were not his first, second, or really anywhere on his list of choices. She brought this entirely on herself, and it wasn’t his concern.
But he was empty enough for the both of them, and there was one catalyst to restoring his connections he had yet to pursue. He had considered it of course, but felt like it would turn into some Gift of the Magi bullshit he wasn’t ready to entertain. On more stable footing now, with more information and non-personal connections reestablish he followed the trail to the Trade Master, wherever he was lingering. He might have been a master of trade, but Yan had once been a master of deal making. It was time to see if he had regained that stride.

A trail to the master of trades started with the want to find him, it always had. As did many trails of course. Yan would have found himself in Kelioux space and venturing off onto a world in that same start system outside of Kelioux itself. It was small, about a third the size of Earth.
Here was just a Kelioux subsidiary Academy with its own little library and campus. The entire world itself was considered the campus, giving the world the name West Kelioux Academy -- as if it were merely a branch down the street from the normal Academy.
The world was busy with scholars, and Yan could see that much on his way to a building on the north side of campus. It was tall, probably about 9 floors. Hanging over the entrance was a sign that read:
Center of Trade.
Well, that certainly proved he was going in the right direction. Upon entry, there was a young lady at the register that was slacking off it seemed, feet propped up and a book over her face to hide that she was sleeping -- though such a poor disguise it was.

“Seems a little much,” Yan noted at the places name, not without a smirk, but when he entered it seemed there was only one person there, at least in the front room: a sleeping woman at the only register. He didn’t really feel like waking her, though nine floors of exploration didn’t suit him either. He plopped his elbows on the counter and leaned his chin in his hands and considered his options, all while watching the book that threatened to slide off her face at any moment.

Slide.
She didn't seem to snore much, but the rise and fall of her chest was in a settled rhythm. She did mummer in a sleep a bit, giving off hints of her seemingly Earth islander accent that had been perverted with common language speak.
"There ain't no way.... I ain't take that shot," she mumbled.
Slide. Drop! Plop!
She woke up with a gasp and leaned forward, stopping just mere centimeters away from Yan's nose with her own and she froze. It was a freeze of unexpected shock that there was a person watching her sleep and there was just a split moment of confusion in her golden brown eyes.
"...Welcome to the Center of Trade," she said as if on brand even though she was still mystified in her confusion. "Wait a second, were you watching me sleep, and for how long?"

When their eyes met, Yan’s immediately closed into an easy smile that did not hide his amusement. It turned into a grin at her attempt to cover it and a laugh when she questioned him.
“Not long,” he said honestly. “I doubt your face could balance your book very long anyway. It was already slipping when I got here~”

She looked to the book and there was a glare as she humanized the book. It was supposed to be her accomplice and hide her slack, and yet it could not hold.
"Well, I need a new accomplice then," she said but not before a grin and her sitting back to put space between their faces.
"But what can I do for ya, do you have an appointment with Trade Master or is this a walk in? Walk ins are always welcome!" There was ease in her smile as she spoke what seemed to be lines she rehearsed for quite some time.

“Tinted glasses aren’t bad, but they have to be stylish enough to excuse wearing them indoors,” he offered her as she pulled away. One would think someone with Yan’s level of insomnia and sleep issues wouldn’t need such a thing, but they were useful when a drug hit too hard or he could feel himself going in and out of consciousness for whatever reason, even if it wasn’t a good nap. Yeah, unhealthy sleep for the win.
He also stood up straight again after plopping his hands on the desk like he was happy to get into her rehearsed routine. “I am a walk in, though I was referred to him.”

"Oh is that right, tint glasses don't sound half bad of an idea," she said looking away and giving it thought.
"Ah, excellent! Let me check his schedule then," she said as her hands glided over the keyboard and brought up a holographic display for her to read off of.
"Let's see," she started before a door opened to the far left. It was a plain door.

The man standing at the door pushed his glasses up and there was a sharp stare he put on Yan. His expression was unreadable at first, but then there was a grin.
It was a grin that seemed genuinely expectant of this outcome but only after a brief delay of uncertainty, Yan coming to see him was expected but there was never a time frame for it. "Miss Che, clear my schedule until further notice."
He walked out of the room, taking time to turn and close the door and pulling out a set of keys to lock it. He pocketed the keys and spun around and walked calmly towards Yan.
"I expect many outcomes. I did not expect to see you this early."

Yan pouted when there wasn’t any referral bonus, but it didn’t last long and he leaned back on the counter as he waited for her to go through the man’s schedule. On one hand, he was probably quite successful. On another office was empty, and his skill was someone niche. He might have a wait list until next June, or a free consultation in ten minutes. He might also be the lawyer styled squeeze everyone in and charge them by the hour.
Then the door opened, and Yan’s gaze shifted away from the socialable receptionist to a man with much more presence. There was recognition in his gaze immediately and so Yan’s eyes closed again in his trade mark smile before he pushed himself straight one more time.
Clearing his schedule. That was good wasn’t it? But could mean quite a few things really.
“Really?” he asked. “I expected me earlier.”
He wasn’t saying that just to contradict him, though that was a plus. As soon as he found out Anna had gotten his connections back via trade, via an ability this man gave her, he thought of approaching him. He almost did a few times already, but haste made waste, and even connectionless he knew better than to go into a trade deal without more cards. Even then, he expected himself to get those cards a lot sooner.
He was a bit if a disappointment to himself as of late. A lot of expectations weren’t being met.

Trade Master
"But whatta bout the referral bonus," she asked looking at Trade. "Are we still doing the free lunch and tea?"
"Yes, if I interrupted that... sorry. You were saying you had a referral? I suppose we can put that down for reference and keep everything professional. That, and Ajay over there will throw a fit that I didn't let her do her job."
Ajay nodded and smiled. "Thank you. So now, your name and the name of your referral please?"

“Well, you’ve ruined the game of it now,” Yan said, with a shake of his head. “It was supposed to be real dramatic! A referral from the woman who thinks you just tried to kill her! But now you know who I am and there’s no surprise at all.”
While now Trade Master might be left to wonder if Puar had sent him as a counter to sending Anna, he could also assume Anna had just told him about everything. The fact that the man seemed to know what Yan wanted on a personal level now also made him care less for acting ‘for Puar’ then seeing exactly how the man would let things play out. It was best to leave things uncertain anyway. Information was a currency as well.
“Yan Cass~” he said to Ajay, not wanting her to get annoyed she wasn’t able to slack off for no reason. “But it’s okay, I can pay for my lunch.”
