Nelgae VS Juch
Juch — Yesterday at 1:10 PM
Away from the cliff, sparse patches of fungi came into view as a heavy fog began to descend upon them. As Juch continued to walk away in the shadow of the much larger alien. The ant's judgement on Earth did have some merit - certainly technological progress, whether it be from Capsule Corp, the Red Ribbon Army, or just some other scientist, would raise some eyebrows. The most recent example being the Steel Legion, even if that was already years ago.
But it was an analytical side of Nelgae that Juch hadn't been in close proximity with last time. Well, regardless of whether he was correct or not, the android appreciated a good head on the shoulders.
The gravelly, chittering sounds that seemed to be signs of amusement emanated from deep within the alien's core; Juch, on the other hand, didn't show any indication of distress or uncomfortableness - instead maintaining the same serene expression on his face.
"If it's going to be the first time that we'll be cooperating in a more serious manner, then it'd be best to start off with small steps," the android spoke to the face that may have horrified or intimidated many others, "There's a certain individual that 'dined and dashed' from one of my establishments; fled the planet completely. I haven't gotten around to look for them myself - if you're interested, the job's yours."
Rei — Yesterday at 2:00 PM
The job to hunt others- unlike many other Grunts in the Planet Trade Organization- Nelgae was a hunter through and through. It was what the Klaxxi were created and bred for. To hunt and eliminate life from planets judged to be too low for the mortal level. Even though his new queen was not under such strict orders, that hunter side of the insectoid never left him. Such thoughts brought him joy.
He was amused at Juch, but then again, the android likely kept any thoughts of disgust to himself, or he had none of those. Perhaps he just saw life as...life. No matter the shape or size. He'd likely need to ask about that, though in that regard it was best to be blunt. He placed his hand to his mandibles as he chittered a moment, as if he put some thought into it.
"I'll take the job, but of course, you'll give me some details?" The Ant wondered about these types. Dine and dash was something that he head learned about on Earth. When one uses a service and then leaves without payment. Most commonly used within the food industry, but the concept could be used elsewhere.
"Also if you need this one dead or alive," he added. He doubted Juch would have left that out, but it needed to be said. Death was easy. A corpse was easy. But to capture something alive and hold it? That was harder. That required care for the injyred and food for the victim to sustain. As well as vision kept on them to make sure that they do not take their own life.
Juch — Yesterday at 10:24 PM
Juch's smile grew a little wider. He tapped his cane twice onto the ground wordlessly; the fog in front of them twitched and churned, until it formed into a wispy, but still comprehensible format - as if they were watching footage of a security camera, the grainy footage revealed a figure emerging from the shadows, its features distorted by the unclear angle of the lens.
"Maximillion 'Eclipse' Vega,” Juch spoke, tapping his cane onto his palm like a disciplinarian ready with his ruler to slap the palm of any rowdy students, “Currently owes a debt of over one hundred thousand zeni at a particular casino.”
While the images given weren’t clear, certain details emerged.
Max stood at an above-average height, his form lean and sinewy. The camera's limited perspective conveyed the outline of his broad shoulders, hinting at an underlying strength that belied his extravagant outfit - dark hair, goatee, beauty mark above his brow.
“Last I heard, he managed to board a ship towards Mortoseth,” the android continued, “I would prefer that he remain alive to pay his dues; however, if he does end up passing to the other world, then I will cut my losses.”
Rei — Yesterday at 10:39 PM
"Mmm..." Nelgae mulled at his words as the creature took in the details. It was all plastered into his mind as he haunched down as if he were in a gang and was trying to look it. That wasn't it, of course, it was just one of his oddities. He chittered a bit as he took in the details before he looked at Juch with a little smile- or was it a smirk?
"If he's on Mortoseth, that means he's on my territory. PTO territory." Thar meant that he was stupid to have done so. Either he'd find him there as someone in the PTO itself, or he was on a slight list. Either he decided to try and survive in the light, or he lived on the Dark Side of Mortoseth. Notorious for it's danger. A danger that Nelgae had went into twice and came out less hungry from.
"Perhaps I could just take his purse to pay his dents. But I'll assume that he has interest coming to him, yes?" Though he said the quiet part outloud, the two were in their own little space. It wasn't like this Maximillian Vega with the moniker of Eclipse could piece here. Nor could he escape the Ant so easily.
He stood back up as he decided that Juch must have done some of his own research on the man. "But there must be more than just that. Certainly he must owe something more. Cash-see-nos on Earth are built to be unfair to the partons, so that they can absorb such losses. Are yours not the same?" He could put a few things together, but the fellow Hunters need not hold secrets between each other. "Perhaps he's also a valueable research material?"
Juch — Yesterday at 10:57 PM
"Hm, that would be convenient. Of course, I don't have intel on this character beyond that - he may have moved to another location since then. However, I figured it would be easier for you to hunt around there for starters," the android nodded at the alien's expression with a smile of his own, "Just at a quick glance, I wouldn't be surprised if he took up in one of those fancy resorts that the Changelings have built. I doubt he would be willing to go straight from a high roller to the other extreme so quickly."
"Your suggestion could also work; as long as he can cough up the principle one way or the other, then that would also settle things," Juch paused as he looked up at Nelgae, "Indeed, you are perceptive of the nature of such places. Don't gamble at casinos - or, if you must pocket your winnings right away. The house always wins by nature."
"While it is not difficult to recuperate such losses, theft is still theft. Such must be dealt with one way or the other, or one's reputation would suffer. But, if I must be honest with you," the scholar took out a cigarette case from within his pockets, "he may have some information that may be useful to me. May, mind. Which is why I would prefer him alive, but it isn't absolutely crucial. So whether that would come to pass, my friend," he reached out to pat Nelgae on one of his many arms, "it would depend on your skill."
Rei — Yesterday at 11:26 PM
Creatures of this era were certainly more complex. Then again, this thought was not new to the bug. He noded his head, indeed it was likely that he had started his little adventure on Mortoseth to enjoy some resorts. Maybe he had a fondness for mushrooms, as well. The insectoid noted that he would have Nier find the man faster than he could in the database. So long as he hadn't bribed his way out of it.
"Aye, so I've heard." Nelgae nodded, but one must also note that it was unlikely that the gambling dens found on most civilized worlds were not likely to allow giant bugs to wander around. Or so it was said to him by both Shaoran and Yua. Maybe the one Juch owned- or was it that he was an employee- would not discriminate based on something like that?
He thought about Juch's next statement. "Mmmm... so like the collisum, you don't want too many fixed fights. Or in your case, little knowledge of such getting out." There had certainly been fixed fights, and certainly there had been those that were made lopsided on purpose. Escpecially when crowds were in certain moods. "Then I will endevour to bring him back alive with his mind in tact." He could certainly bring people back alive, but also put the fear of the gods in them so much that they became like plants.
He noted the pat on his arm and nodded his head. It would certainly do to get off the frozen planet every now and again. "I'll start once we part ways."
Juch — Yesterday at 11:43 PM
"That is a good analogy."
Students that were able to turn such concepts into their own thoughts were always the most promising ones at the academy. And thus far, the android had gotten a similar impression from Nelgae.
Juch tapped his cane once more and the fog disappeared altogether, leaving a rush of grass to fill in the void. It didn't take long for an open field to blossom forth, "I look forward to hearing your good news then - and if things do go well, to working with you further."
"I can establish a line of communication once we're out of this astral realm. What's the best way to reach you?"
Rei — Yesterday at 11:51 PM
The best way to reach him? He had to think for a moment before the bug swayed his hand and produced for Juch an image, much more clear than that camera footage. "You seek this girl," he stated. "She's rather popular on Freiza Sei, and isn't hard to get a hold of. If that does not work, you can likely tap into a psychic connection of millions of ants in a single ship on the same planet."
As his minions, he would know if they were communicated with in that way. And these ants could only live on his ship, since the cold of the planet would otherwise kill them. "The girl's name is Nier. I know not why she is devoted to me, but she is probably more uh. Common sense than I." More being the word that he used for her on purpose.
"I also look forward to working with you. Hunts are most exciting with strong prey," he added with a nod of his head. As the pull back to his body came, the Ant looked over at the android. "May we have a profitable friendship."
