Nelgae VS Juch
Juch — Yesterday at 1:27 PM
Whether she had her fill of the pub food or something else altogether, Nier's slumping figure brought a small smile to the android's face. However, it was clear that Nelgae certainly had a strong momentum that didn't seem to slow down any time soon - even in his shrunken form, his stomach didn't seem to be hindered at all, given the pace that he was moving through the mounds of sizzling meat.
So, the job first then?
Juch's fingers drummed against the table, as if he was typing out the case file for this particular individual. After a moment's pause, the android spoke up again, "...Lyla Elcor. Ex Star Wolf. Five feet tall, blonde. Triangle tattoo on her wrist. Intercepted a shipment a few years back and defected to Siberius - the investor in the now defunct Suicide Station on Ruins of Cauldron."
"She's been in hiding ever since things on Cauldron changed. It's an old tale, but it's one that I would like to see resolved. Unfortunately, I can't give you more up to date information than that. She's out of my radar. However, given that Siberius was once affiliated with the PTO, maybe you can find a few leads internally."
Rei — Yesterday at 1:41 PM
Finding out leads on some defunct company, and one that used to be tied to the PTO, was likely not all that hard. At least for someone higher in rank than a Grunt. However, he was quite sure that there were plenty of people that he could get the information out of. He then tilted an antennae before he said, "Hm, a few years back? I guess she must have become a pirate after the last galactic war, then."
That crazy conflict with everyone doing whatever they liked. So strange. The bug then thrumbed his claws on the table and nodded his head. "This package can stay undelivered, yes?" It had been a few years old, so this was an old debt now owed. He didn't mind helping out with this, but he needed to get conformation.
Nier was in one of those good food comatose, or so it seemed. She was happy with the food, but she had nearly blown her cover. Juch was perceptive, but she was glad that Nelgae seemed even less than that. Still, the three of them were a tightknit enough group. Hopefully Juch didn't start to look in on her.
"I'm sure that should be easy enough to manage. Even with little clues like that, I can just tear through the remains of the planet until I find her," he joked, though knowing him more, Juch might have taken that in a less charitable light.
Juch — Yesterday at 2:05 PM
"Yes, she first worked as a mercenary during the war. Of course, it turned out that there was a massive amount of fake currency printed during that time. After everything was said and done, she needed to join in with the Star Wolves to maintain her lifestyle," Juch nodded. It was much more efficient dealing with Nelgae.
"I would prefer the package remained undelivered," the android confirmed before taking another sip of his drink, before chuckling at Nelgae's joke, "You do what you need to do. I would usually add in a 'as long you don't draw attention to yourself' in, but I think you are already in the habit of doing that."
To be underestimated is to remain subtle, after all.
"Nier is down for the count already?" Juch said, looking over at the small girl, "How about some dessert then? There's always room for dessert; I think that's what they say."
Rei — Yesterday at 2:46 PM
Desert. That was unfair! Nier rolled her head around to face Juch, however, when her head turned to him, there seemed to be stares in her eyes. "No take-backs!" Well, he shouldn't be able to find out too mch about her from just how she ate. Right? Besides, Nel did usually give her more on Frieza. But that might be from the lower nutritional value.
In either case, Nel nodded his head in confirmation of the job before he grabbed the platter and used a much faster way to consume what remained on the tray. It was a little flashy, but he didn't mind it all that much. It wasn't like he would let the sizzling meat loose the heat. That's what made cooked meat different to him than raw.
"It's not my fault that I am what I am," the bug replied with a bit of a chuckle in his voice. After all, he was normally a fairly tall bug man that tore through enemies like they were butter. That was his job, it was his calling in life, and it was what he did in order to protect his new queen. "By the way, J, are there any other packages on that planet? Or just the one?"
Juch — Yesterday at 9:05 PM
Juch let out a small chuckle, raising a finger despite Nier’s gaze, “In this business, a gentleman’s word is golden. It isn’t often we get to meet like this, so let’s make it a fully satisfying experience.”
He gestured for the waiter to come over, although not before answering Nelgae’s question as he tore through the rest of the meal with blinding speed. It was like he was a pack of piranhas wrapped up into one body; quite the force of nature, “Hardly anyone’s fault for who they were born as; what they make themselves to be, the choices they make – that is more important to me.”
“But, that is a good question; I wouldn’t be asking you to just pop over to Cauldron every once in a while – that wouldn’t be a good use of your time, especially how it’s a little out of the way in comparison to your usual hunting grounds, I would imagine. But that is the last loose end from the Suicide Station – well, other than Siberius himself. However, whether that Changeling is even alive or not, where he is…I can’t say. Perhaps you may find something about him through your endeavors, but as far as I know, he’s completely missing.”
“In other words, any other potential packages would be related to this initial package that we’re discussing. I can imagine that she has some henchmen leftover, or perhaps some small operation running; anything of that sort, you may have them all disappear. I would like to tie this loose end up completely.”
Rei — Yesterday at 9:50 PM
So, at least Juch was one to keep his words true. Nier's eyes lit up as she looked over at the waiter and started to pester him about deserts. That conversation was quickly replied to by Nelgae with a simple, "If you have something akin to honeycomb, I'll have that." Probably strange, but the unrefined sugar was now too his liking. Cloying sweet, without the good stuff taken out of refined away. "Otherwise nothing."
He then focused on J, presumably after the waiter walked away. Though they spoke in some code, it would be understandable if he didn't want even an inkling to get out to the target of this mission. And it all made sense. Tying up loose ends would be the best for this, oh yes indeed. The alien grinned as he said that. All the more food for the Klaxxi. He could be quite the glutton. Further and further evolution through consumption.
"Very well. I'll make sure that the warehouse is competitive run down." Nier looked up after her order. In this, she could tell that her master was very happy to do this. Just like with that demoness, he took his time to evaluate and calculate his potential gains over the potential losses. He was driven and focused to become stronger and stronger. Such was the way of the Klaxxi. Such was why she followed him to learn more.
"J...uhm..." She quit her query as a slice of cake arrived. Exotic (to her) pieces of fruit lay on YNt sides. This was a bar after all. Nelgae assumed this was like bought as a sheet cake and the people in the back just added based on customer wants. But he, ever the predator, watched what she liked. As his follower, he wanted to know how to phrase her on jobs well done. Food seemed a good way to placate her. In this way, he also grew. It wasn't all bodies, but notes and information as well.
Juch — Yesterday at 10:38 PM
The waiter paused, thinking about it more a moment, before informing Nelgae that he had just the thing; he left, although he seemed to be a little worn out by Nier's...enthusiasm, so to speak, "Hm, that's interesting. I'll make a note of that - baking cookies may be a suboptimal choice in the future," Juch spoke, recalling the last bit of time they had spent on Roshi's island before they went their separate ways.
Of course, it wasn't surprising. Sugar was a store of instant energy for many, and some insectoids even had social stomachs to share such treats with their brethren; this was especially true with those who functioned in a colony, and considering that Nelgae did mention a queen to Juch before, that possibility couldn't be discounted.
Although it seemed that Nelgae was rather pleased with the prospect of multiple packages - perhaps a little too much so, but Juch wouldn't judge someone who was willing to help with such work. It was a messy business, after all, "I'm positive you'll do a fine job. I'll be waiting for your good news."
The cake was soon delivered and in front of Nelgae, a pair of long crystalized rods were presented, "Shimmerreed Sticks," the waiter introduced, "Dried sweet sap from a local plant here."
Each stick is about the length and thickness of a typical breadstick, though irregularities in width give away their natural origin. The texture is a balance between firm and chewy, providing a satisfying mouthfeel that slowly releases the sweet flavor as it is enjoyed.
After the Lismian left again, Juch tilted his head towards Nier. She seemed like she had something to say, but then the dessert probably distracted her. Still, he was in no hurry. She could finish her food first before finishing her original thought.
Rei — Today at 1:45 PM
Good results were the Klaxxi's specialty. His work outside of the PTO was honestly more skin to a higher rank, but it wasn't like those achievements would have boosted him up in those ranks. As the bug looked over at the sticks, he tilted his head a bit. Sap was certainly something that made the amber that he was after, but this wasn't amber itself. It should do fine, so he nodded his head to the waiter, "This will do nicely," he commented.
Before he would have indulged himself, the bug turned back to Juch with a nod of his head. "My work is my life." His work was everything, it was for many an insect. Workers made to work, warriors made to fight, and guards made to keep the queen safe. Even nursery insects in some colonies. "But that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy down time like this." He nodded his head.
Nier wanted to try and not say what had been on her mind. It was probably too dangerous to say. Juch was too precievetive, and it was like Nelgae didn't acknowledge, but he incorporated what he learned very often. She had started to dig into her cake before a pair of thugs pushed their seats out and started to come near the trio. What they likely didn't expect were the cockroach-like insects that started to climb onto them and move about.
"The fu-" These insects, under Nier and Nel's control, were very specific and very defenseive of their masters. Nel's were still hidden, but Nier had let out just enough bloodlust against those two in particular. The two men collapsed as Nier just sat there, enjoyed her cake, and smiled a bit. Nelgae turned as the men started to shrivel as their chi was drained by the bugs.
Nel shook his head before he quickly supped on the sticks and looked at Juch. "I guess we should wrap this segment up. Package for Lyla Elcor. Ruins of Cauldron." Well, he had to make it sound nicer. They likely had more than a few eyes on them now. "Hurry and eat, Nier." He then placed a card with zeni on the table. "For the tip."
