Nelgae VS Juch
Juch — Today at 2:51 PM
Well, that escalated quickly. The crash of the two thugs onto the ground sent a cascading effect across the rest of the tavern, even more so at the sight of the insects as well as the men resembling more like dried prunes rather than their original form.
The more savvy patrons headed straight for the exit at the first sign of trouble, while the waitstaff, seemingly used to such disturbances every now and then, took cover rather than try and coax the rising tensions down. Self preservation was more important. However, there still remained a few who seemed to be in a cahoots with the original thugs, and now they came towards the table, brandishing their weapons.
Juch, who seemed more perturbed at the interruption rather than the fate of the initial two aggressors, coughed into his handkerchief after giving Nelgae a confirming nod of his target(s). However, the android's hand reached out to push the card back towards the former champion, "I insist - my treat. I'll have everything taken care of. You and Nier should focus on exiting the premises. I can stay back and...clean things up."
"Unless, of course, you would like to show me skills in real time. I don't think I've seen you in action yet."
Rei — Today at 3:14 PM
"Not unless you watched a bit of that tournament," the former Champion chuckled. As the other thugs approached, Nier seemed to have stuffed herself into a comical choke as she grabbed water and swallowed. The cake at least moved out of the way as the former champion stood up and seemed to have grown to his origional height. That was probably not on their minds, as the thugs paused. But they were paid good money if they could get rid of Juch. No Arlian would stop them, as they just gusesed he puffed up for dramatic effect.
But this Klaxxi was not to be underestimated. He wondered if these thugs could be used for interrogation, so he'd spare a few of them, at least. As a king of the ring, he was a more hands-on fighter, as they brandished all kinds of weapons, from knives, to knuckled weapons, even a short sword and a blaster. But they were sluggish in his eyes as the former Champion stepped and then there was wind.
The first one, the one with the blaster, didn't even see it coming. He had his blaster pointed at Juch, but found his breath knocked out as he smashed into the ground. The guard of the one with the blaster looked over before his face was grabbed and smashed against the ground as well. It happened in a split second, as the grey ant looked at the ones around and behind him.
But that wasn't all. As the other paused in their distraction, Nier moved her palm up and said to Juch, "Please excuse this unsightly behavior." A few ki blasts rang out, and thought she was not as powerful as her master, her strength wasn't a trifle. The sound of the blasts caught their attention, but it wasn't really as terrifying as the bug. He swiped his leg out and caught another cleanly in the head as he launched him hard enough that he dangled, face broken through the roof, legs swinging with his body. Either his head as crushed, or he was just barely alive.
Nier spoke up with a sigh, "Ya'll should just surrender. No money is worth your lives."
Juch — Today at 3:52 PM
Juch sniffed into his handkerchief as Nier and Nelgae went through to engage with the assailants. Or rather, would be assailants.
The Ant certainly deserved his title; the goons were down in an instant, with two more of them crashing into the wooden floor with such force that the entire tavern shook a little from each impact. So focused they were on their target that they had even ignored the towering frame of Nelgae - not to mention the poor set up in the ambush in the first place, it was clear that these guys were amateurs at best.
But, the real world wasn't forgiving to rookies, especially in belly of the underworld. Nier also displayed her prowess with the sizzling of flesh accompanying the subsequent explosions of the ki blasts; however, such meat may not be viable for any other patrons other than Nelgae.
With one more man smashed through the roof, his limp arms and legs dangling like the gateway to some horror movie, Juch adjusted his suit before standing up from his seat. There were only a handful of people left and they were finally realizing the threat that Nelgae and Nier were posing. At the girl's words, a hint of hesitancy grazed upon some of their faces. Each thug glanced around, seeking solace or affirmation from their companions, but instead, they were met with mirrored expressions of uncertainty. It was as if an invisible hand had woven threads of apprehension throughout the room, tangling their collective resolve. Their crude weapons, typically held with a twisted sense of pride and authority, now betrayed their bearers. The gnarled fists that once held them so confidently now shook involuntarily, the sharp edges of their blades and the heavy weights of their bludgeons quivering in their grasp.
"Who sent you?" Juch finally spoke as he neatly folded up his handkerchief with precision before placing it back into his pocket, "Anyone who answers truthfully may leave this place alive."
...
"No takers? That's a shame. Nelgae, Nier, would you mind persuading them some more?"
Rei — Today at 4:05 PM
Wha fools they were, to think that they could get out alive. No, there was likely more to this than that. Still, the Ant had no mercy for the weak. "Nier, please have your bugs check outside the tavern." This was too messy, too fishy. Juch was maybe not the most known warrior out there, but as a former Champion, his own prowess should be well enough known. Nier blinked as the bug turned into a blur this time, as he used his long limbs to snag people and smashed two heads together so hard there wasn't a crack. There was a crunch.
As he left those two corpses crumple, the last one looked between the three of them. Then he saw the world tumble as his head out an "Eh?" That was it. His head lay the hand of Nier who had kicked him towards her master, who had chopped with his hand on instinct. His head tilted a bit before he sighed and stood at hid full height.
Only one fool remained, the one with knuckles. The smell was a clear enough indicator as he fell to his knees. "P-please! We were just paid!" A paid job, that would not spare them from the ant's wrath. But that also meant that he was even more suspicious of this. "Just get me out of here..." There was the pleading that Nelgae wanted. But it was too late. He had recieved word- image- back from the bugs. His eyes narrowed at that, and then the Klaxxi jumped over Nier. "Defenses, J."
That was all that he got out before the tavern was ripped apart in an explosion that would have likely killed the likes of even Nier if the bug hadn't of covered her. The last thing Juch would have seen of the ant was a crimson hue that came cover his body, as his aura grew terribly sickening, and those outside felt like bugs had started to crawl all over their skin.
Juch — Today at 4:44 PM
A bomb.
In that harrowing moment, time seemed to slow down. The once lively and raucous tavern transformed into a chaotic scene of destruction and panic. Tables and chairs were flung into the air, splintering into fragments as the force of the explosion rippled through the room. The very walls groaned and cracked, struggling to withstand the relentless onslaught.
At the last second, Juch conjured up a shimmering barrier for both himself as well as Nelgae and Nier - perhaps the bugs that covered them would help a bit, but the android wasn't going to just look out for himself in such a situation.
Despite his attempts, with the very foundation of the tavern quaking beneath them, throwing Juch off balance. Dust and debris filled the air, obscuring his vision and filling his nostrils with acrid smoke. By the time everything cleared up, the android found himself buried under the rubble. Unscathed thanks to Nelgae's warning, but still inconvenienced.
It was evident that the thugs were only there to buy time - and that the real point of attack was this explosive. It may not have torn Juch to shreds if it had hit him head on, given his own durability, but it would no doubt left many a gash in his exterior. Pushing up from the dust, Juch waved away the particulates as he looked around to see if Nier and Neglae were safe.
Rei — Today at 5:04 PM
The explosion had torn their meeting spot into splinters, and had taken away a spot that they could have used for further meetings. But even such a quaint place was under watch. Juch, though a man hidden well within the underground, still had one or two that could keep an eye on him, if not counting his own organization. The insectoid grunted as he pushed himself up, as he looked down at Nier. He realized that there had been a barrier placed around them- probably by Juch.
Most of their chi sucking insects had been torn apart or set ablaze by the bomb, but there were just enough to protect Nier. He pushed himself up and the insectoid looked pissed. His aura was prickly, as he revealed that the usually smaller arms on his torso had moved and now he had four long limbs. His general color was a black-crimson as he rushed at the presences that he sensed out.
The three that had set off the bomb looked at the area, happy that things had gone off. Those punks had to work quickly, but it seemed that they had killed those that they wanted to-
The first's one's head just expoloded by a punch. The body twitched, before the bug spun around and grabbed the other two by their heads as he snrled, "You've wasted my mood. And you've annoyed my friend and ally." He pulled them off the ground before he turned to see that Juch was fine. He jumped and landed in front of him as he held the two above before he dropped them in front of his android friend.
"Package delivery, J. Sign on their blood when you're done, if you don't mind."
Juch — Today at 6:23 PM
The dust had settled, but Nelgae certainly did not. Juch, covered in dust and rubble, reached over to help Nier up on her feet; the charred corpses of the insects that had covered her, however, remained a casualty - a dark stain that irked the android more than he liked to admit.
But such darkness that radiated from the Arlian, one of vantablack and blood boiling rage, was more palpable. His anger was not indiscriminate, however; rather Nelgae pinpointed the culprits of this dastardly deed, seeking them out like a gilded missile.
The crunch of the skull caving in before spewing out into gore echoed in the otherwise silent aftermath of the explosion. Juch let out a sigh as he began to brush the contaminants off of his outfit.
It was truly a pity; he had grown fond of this establishment over the years. And what had been a quaint get together had been ruined completely - it was an embarrassment and a loss of face for Juch, especially in front of those that he had sought to establish a stronger relationship.
Such an affront cannot be tolerated.
The powerful slam of Nelgae shook the space as he brought back the remaining two, “Thank you, Nelgae,” Juch let out a sigh, “Wonderfully done.”
One of the two was evidently more anxious, as he scrambled to get away. But not even two steps later and the muzzle flash blinded him completely before his lifeless body slumped to the ground. With the smoke from Juch’s pistol still wavering, the android turned his attention to the last person, “In this world, neither good nor evil shall perish, but only the foolish.”
Juch aimed his pistol towards the last man, who too had the foul odor of ammonia running through the darkening patch on his pants, “And you’ve made a rather foolish choice.”
“P-Please…! I didn’t have a choice! G’hokrkel, h-he forced…!”
The android lowered his firearm as a rare flash of surprise brushed over his usual expression, “You’re not lying?”
“I swear! I swear!” the thug’s voice turned to a hysterical high pitch as he swiveled his head from Nelgae’s imposing figure back to Juch’s, “By the Kais!”
Juch took a glance towards Nelgae and Nier with an unreadable expression as he slowly holstered his weapon, “I’m going to have to do a bit of homework on this,” he finally spoke before roughly grabbing the man and hauling his shaking body up to a standing position, “I must apologize - a bit of underworld business had ruined the evening. But this accusation, it has ramifications. Wide sweeping ones. After I confirm my findings, I’ll let you two know the specifics.”
Rei — Today at 6:45 PM
Though their flesh and bodies were covered in dirt and dust, the bug waited patiently. He was a patient man, though in this situation, he was rather angry. That anger roiled around in his aura. Nier didn't seem to mind it, but there was a little unease in her eyes. Yes, it was likely that she had been both scared and surprised by the explosive anger of the insectoid. He was usually very calm and collected. Rarely on Frieza did he have to defend her. She actually didn't think that he'd ever do it.
But as the Klaxxi warrior loomed over the two, one of the pair broke. He ran like a coward, and so he was executed as a coward. Shot in the back, the heart or the head. It mattered not, as the Klaxxi didn't take his darkened gaze off of the one that had pissed himself. Juch was, as the bug had expected, as ruthless with his enemies as he had hoped. Though they didn't hold a lot in common, they both would not stand cowards or weaklings. Not in their line of work.
As things stood, the last man started to speak. Babble, that's what it meant to Nelgae. He used his psychic powers to bring Nier to him as she started to stand up. She wobbled a bit, but he didn't let her feet struggle too much. As she leaned on him for support, her azure eyes glared down at the man. Juch was as a gentleman should be, but to her, he seemed more like one of those men in the nior movies.
"G'horkrkel?" The name seemed to surprise the android. Though the name held not meaning to him, that didn't mean that it didn't hold significance to Juch. As the other seemed surprised, Nel silently guessed that that was the one of one of his business partners. So he was beytrated from within? Though still furious, the Klaxxi powered down as the man started to be dragged away.
He didn't sense a lie from the man, either, as the thug would have felt little prickles on his brain like ant's feet scurrying about as he probed his mind with little care for his feelings. "I sense no intent to lie," he confirmed.
With his other message, Nier knew that it was at least true that there was something going on in the background. She bit her fingernails as she looked back to her master and then back at Juch. "I understand," she said in Nelgae's place as he started to collect the bodies that were strewn about. At least the ones of their attackers. "I'll keep an eye out for those messages. And... thank you for caring about me, Mr. J."
That one, though a bit lower, might not have caught Nel's attention, if it wasn'y for the slightest of hesitations in her tone. He just looked at her a moment before he collected the last of the bodies. He then nodded towards their ship. "We'll be waiting and hunting," Nel added, before his wings opened and Nier grabbed onto his thorax from behind. The two sides separated from there, though they would be sure to join one another in time.
