Nelgae VS Juch
Juch — Yesterday at 11:40 PM
They had finished things up; not only that, but it appeared that they were going to remove any evidence of not just the packages, but of the base itself.
Demolition friends, hm? Those were a new breed that Juch hadn’t heard of before, but his curiosity was piqued. Did they gnaw away at the base like termites, were they volatile like sticks of dynamite, or did they melt everything down through a caustic acid? The possibilities seemed endless, but in the end, no traces left behind was just as important as getting the job done.
Otherwise, it would be no different than showing your entire hand to the other players - winning the battle, but losing the war.
"A very thorough job. Well done," Juch nodded with approval as he once again glanced out of the window.
While it may take time to produce the desired friends, it would certainly be worth it if they were as good as advertised - and Juch had seen the results with the ki draining and bomb detecting ones first hand, so there was no reason to believe otherwise.
Nelgae may be more worth investing in than he had originally surmised. It was a bit out of his original projection, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
The cry of shock, if not delight, at Nier hoisted up onto Nelgae’s shoulder echoed in the otherwise dilapidated room from the phone. Juch took another drag from his cigarette before explaining further, “The last gentleman from the incident - to say he is ignorant may be an understatement. It is difficult to to wring water out of a dry towel. But I can say that it is odd for him to know the direct name of G’hokrkel. Generally, ‘hits’ are done by out of town folk - untraceable back to their original master unless it was meant to send a message. But you’d require competency and a successful mission, not getting wiped out while failing in your own mission objective.”
“So, I’ve decided to release him - rather, allow him to escape. I want to see where he goes next, what he does next. What sort of friends would you recommend for such a situation?”

Nelgae wondered just what he was after. It couldn't be said out in the open- after all, that guy had tracked them down before, in fact, when it seemed that the android used nothing but burner accounts and devices. So, they would need something general and specialized. He got an idea and got that look in his eyes that Nier knew very well at this point. It made her shiver for a moment before she composed herself again.
"Why don't we start with a mixture? You'll have plenty of generations that are formed after that." In other words, Juch could do some experiments on them. Nelgae saw them as his tools, while Nier saw them as friends and companions. Though he didn't always leave her behind, he had done so on a number of occasions when they were together for other missions. However, he did realize in the last incident that Nier was vunerable. She needed more, and better training that even Frost couldn't hand to her.
He then placed a claw on his mandibles as he thought of something else. "Letting prey go is not a bad strategy, but if there is one thing that I know about the underground that interact with the arena, those kind of lowly thugs are likely to be killed before they approach their master. A proxy detination, if you will. At least twenty five years ago, it was obvious. Collars that would remove the head, much like the slave pit fighters." Of course, as he implied, the times had changed and advanced since then.
"I'll include a certain bug that can neutralize that for free. I believe I slipped one on him already, since I didn't want him to die right away when I caught him. But you never know if you'll catch another, J." He looked down at Nier. Maybe he was also concerned about her mental health at the time as well. "Perhaps we can dine on planet Frieza next time."
Juch — Today at 12:23 PM
"Hm, that makes sense to me."
There needed to be the right tool for the job. But with organisms, there was a flexibility involved compared to say, a hammer or a wrench. Such was the power of evolution - one that Nelgae was evidently very familiar with.
Another spent cigarette was cast away into the growing ash tray, but this time Juch didn't reach out for another. Instead, his gaze remained towards the outside, where the rainstorm grew even louder, "You have experience in such matters. I concur with your extrapolation, Nelgae," the android chuckled, "That was what I was expecting as well. However, that means that they would have to make a move. And how they plan and execute such a plan would give me just as much information, if not more, on the situation."
"But I appreciate that extra amenity; it would be useful to have a fail safe on hand. I've managed to procure one of the ambers from a source, so you should be expecting that in a day or two. Lab research is going steady, but I'll need a bit more time to see whether or not such results can be used."
"I haven't been on Planet Frieza before, I don't believe. It would be nice to have someone in the know by my side," Juch continued with a smile, "Let me know how your schedule goes and we can set up another time."
Rei — Today at 12:39 PM
"I didn't fight and be the champion in the arena for over a century to not see such things," the bug replied with a little chuckle in his tone. Such was how the dice went, it was just how lucky or unlucky one was, Nelgae was spared from most underworld dealings directly because he was free to join the pits from the start, so it was more observational. Still, it had been an issue before. Now, he was not so sure. The Arlians that they let into the arena were basically just in there to die.
The bug nodded as he looked up at Nier and tapped his head, "I've had to exspand my knowledge even further since I left the arena. Thinking for one's self after a life in the arena has ruined former compedators that have lost their limbs, or their minds to alcohol." Sorry sods in the pub after a match that were already weak were easy pickings.
"Ohh, that sounds delightful. Are they going to Frieza or my current location?" If so, he was more interested to get it from the man's own hands, but he'd settle with a messenger. Juch just had to hope it was an android or robot, or that he had gotten enough food that day. "I'll patch you back in with Nier. I think I'll be swamped with grunt work- no pun intended- for the next few days at least."
He gave it back to Nier, who giggled a bit. "Master Nel's serious side isn't too bad when he's doing deals, huh?"
Juch — Today at 2:34 PM
Juch's smile broadened a little. He could imagine the type of gambling, sabotage, and rigged matches that occurred - it was something that happened in the past, the present, and no doubt the future. So many wanted a quick shot to fame, glory, and riches.
"The post arena career is certainly one that is seldom mentioned," the android nodded, "It would be a complete change of lifestyle, from what I've gathered. Cases like yours, Nelgae, are rather rare."
"I'll be handing it to you myself - it's such a rare item that I don't trust just a delivery bot to get it to you," Juch continued, "I'll talk to Nier about the scheduling, especially if we were to meet on Planet Frieza anyways. Well, I wish you all the best. Until next time."
When the girl's laugh reached Juch's ears, the android moved back to the ashtray, dumping out the contents into the waste basket, "I do appreciate the candor and efficacy. It is a refreshing change of pace from the usual sort that I have to contend with; the same goes for you, Nier. When will be a convenient time for me to come over to Planet Frieza with the amber?"
Rei — Today at 2:41 PM
At the very least, the pair could count on Juch to be a sort of back up if they had any underworld dealings. Or well, so long as he was not the aggressor. But he had invested too much in their little project to not be of the mind to give them everything and anything within reason that they asked for. Well, that was the sense that Nier got. Reality was often very different than that, however, so she kept that to herself.
"The usual sort, huh?" The brought back memories as she was silent for a moment after she pulled up their scedul for their work and she made a face, not liking it all that much. "You probably don't want an afternoon, so how about three days from now? Do you want the meet location to be more secretive, or are you fine with the general port? And if secretive, want it over this burner, or do you gave a more private channel?"
Nel made it back to their ship and when they went in, their little friends were certainly very happy for their return.
Juch — Today at 2:51 PM
As Juch continued to clean up after himself, he listened to the options given. Indeed, afternoon can be a little wonky, so the latter option worked out quite well. However, whether he wanted a more private way or a general way...
Well, it was true that Juch tended to keep things under wraps or on the down low whenever it was necessary. However, given the transaction of this nature, it wasn't necessary. And he didn't want to impose such strict requirements unless it was important to do so; while it had became second nature to him, he was certain it would wear on those that he worked with, especially in this situation where he wasn't playing host, "I'm alright with the general port. I'm not reliving my smuggling days," Juch let out a small laugh, "And I'd like to savor the sights on Frieza anyways. Can't do that in the complete darkness."
Rei — Today at 2:57 PM
Nier blinked and then giggled, "Fair enough. We'll try to make sure that you have a good time," she replied before she swiped across a few things and then looked over at Nelgae. "Just make sure that you don't bring any coin. We'll pay this time." It was likely that Lord Frigid would pay extra attention, but that couldn't be helped. Nel had a handler on the planet, if only because he was a rather strong individual that could get out of hand if he ever lost himself to his nature and appetite. Nier knew that from first hand experience.
"By the way, Mr. J, if you have a more comfortable chassis, you could change into that," she suggested. It likely didn't click in her head that not all androids ha such a thing laying around. It was just in her mind that maybe someone like him did. But she wondered what he would be wearing if he did? Well, she could just decide if he looked interesting or not if he did have a spare that he could use for this or anything else. "Or just come in your regular chassis. Whatever makes you most comfortable," she added warmly.
