Nelgae VS Juch
Juch — Today at 3:08 PM
"Mm, I'm looking forward to it," Juch nodded with a small grin.
Taking one last look around in the unkempt safehouse, the android moved over to open the door by a small smidgeon. The creak of unoiled hinges echoed throughout the place as Juch swept his gaze through the hallway - his ki sensors were rather advanced, but he was always in the habit of having a visual confirmation, just in case.
Satisfied that there was nothing besides himself in the seemingly abandoned house, Juch crept out the back, waste bag in hand into the pouring rain, "Hm, I appreciate the thought. Within three days..." he trailed off, evidently speaking more to himself before turning back to Nier, "I'll let you know before I arrive."
"In that case, I'll see you two in three days. This channel is still good for next contact?"
Rei — Today at 3:17 PM
"I am very happy to hear that," Nier replied as she jumped off of Nel's shoulder and into her normal chair. She sank into it a bit as she waited to hear from him a little further into his pause. She was not exactly sure what it was, but she did stay quiet for... whatever it was. Soon enough, however, he did reply to her second set of comments and she grinned.
"This channel is just for you, Mr. J." Though it was through their PTO scouter, it was unlikely that anyone would be dumb enough to try and stop Nel from meeting this person. If anything, the interruption would be to get into contact with Juch to get into the underworld of other planets outside of those that were firmly within the Changelings' hands.
"Don't forget to tell him about the-"
"Oh, right. Almost forgot. You can make a counterfeit PTO badge, right? Even one that just kinda looks like it at a galance." It was to help him not get scooped up by a recruiter, though they rarely approached anyone with the Klaxxi nearby.
Juch — Today at 3:33 PM
"That's a nice gesture," Juch moved through the rain, his silent movements moving from one dead tree to another shadow under a tattered building. He didn't know how encrypted things were, it wasn't as if their conversations had any severe enough implications on the surface, especially given their more careful word choices.
He did take a pause at the idea of the badge, "That would certainly be possible."
There must be some reason for it, such as expediting through some processes or just not standing out from the crowd, "Would you recommend there be anything specific for the ship as well?"
Rei — Today at 3:48 PM
Nel tilted his head and shook it at Juch's question, so Nier replied in the negative, "No, not unless you want to stand out more. People will definitely pay more attention the higher the rank they think you are." After all, the PTO ruled through fear. Best to pay attention so you don't become a burn mark against the pavement.
She then placed a hand on her chin. Things proceeded apace for they next meeting, but she got the impression that Juch was sneaking around. She then grinned like an idiot imagining him sneaking around like in a cartoon.
The bug man tilted his head at her expression before he tapped on the main computer, "Well then, J, we are about to jump into a wormhole. Better cut the communication for a moment."
Once they were in that space, he assumed that Juch could pretty quickly call them back. Even he could tell that Juch was splitting his attention. "Or do you have any other questions?"
Juch — Today at 4:17 PM
"Mm, so to blend in, you'd have to be a grunt at the bottom rung of the pecking order. Makes sense," Juch pressed his back against the wall, watching a lone car cruising through the streets. Once it was out of line of sight, he continued onwards.
So, a counterfeit PTO badge coupled with an unmarked ship. That sounded more than doable. As the android continued through the small town, he began to notice some static coming from the receiver. Oh? Was the signal getting weaker on his side?
It turned out that they were going to travel through a mind bending adventure to bridge the gap between spaces, "Very well, I'll call back in a moment."
With communications cut, the android disposed of the burner phone, incinerating it into ash along with the waste bag. Watching the remains disperse into the puddles and with the heat evaporating the rainwater that accumulated on his person, the android got onto his own vehicle parked a ways away. Revving it back to life, he pulled out, driving down the patchy roads as he calculated the general amount of time it would take for Nier and Nelgae to stabilize after the wormhole.
When that was done, he dialed through a new device, "Y'know, I never got used to wormhole travel when I was younger. Always felt weird," he would say once they picked up again, "It was like...a roller coaster between realities."
Rei — Today at 4:49 PM
"It certainly is different," Nier agreed. It was a little annoying at interrupted conversations, but that also meant that it threw off people that might have been trying to get in their communications, so it sound roughly even out.
With this new space, the big bug man placed the ship on automatic pilot as he sat back in his chair and started to nod off. Nier giggled as she said, "I think Master Nel is gonna take a nap. I guess all the snacks took a toll on him."
Shut decided to ask him one more question as the insectoid closed his eyes and seemed to go into a deep slumber, "Do you know of any other creature in the universe like Master Nel?" Few of the Klaxxi had woken up. None of the others had made it off Arlia.
Juch — Today at 6:48 PM
The image of Nelgae puffed up like a snake after swallowing a donkey flashed across Juch's mind as he took a turn; it was most amusing. However, it was good that Nier and Nelgae made it out okay. Technology had progressed to the point that utilizing such formidable celestial objects for fast travel a commonplace occurrence, but if something were to go wrong during such a stunt, it would go horrifically wrong, "Sweet dreams," Juch remarked.
"The most similar I know of would have to be Queenie," Juch continued, through the squeaking of the windshield wipers grating against the glass, "the Metal Spider Queen. I rescued her and her brood off of Planet Zarbon before it was annihilated. That was such a long time ago. But in terms of Arlians, I'm afraid I don't know any others."
"How did you meet Nelgae, by the by, if you don't mind me asking?"
Rei — Today at 9:47 PM
"Hmm, I'm not sure that I heard about that." She was curious about it, but that was about all that she could comment. A queen of spiders certainly sounded like it would have been quite formidable, but she was not sure if that was a scare for the Klaxxi. Certainly, the insectoid races likely had their hierarchy, but she wasn't sure if the arachnids had a high position than the other.
His next question caught the girl off-guard. Most people just assumed that he had kidnaped her and didn't eat her for a strange reason. But this was not a question that was genuinely asked to know the true answer. She shook herself back to reality as she said, "I met him after he was on a mission from his uh. Handler? I think that's the way the PTO refers to him. But I looked for him, and found him. I've always had a fascination for the insectoid races, but he was the first one that I ran into that wasn't weak."
That should work- while Nier had power, she didn't have a lot of it. Not compared to some of the other monsters out there in the universe. She placed her hand on her chin before she added, "Master Nel was quite surprised. I think he did try to eat me a few times, but we eventually worked ourselves into a more agreeable position."
