Frieza was bored. Exceptionally bored, which wasn’t very common for him. He knew how to keep himself busy, and always had a toy or two lying around. Almost always. He killed his last toy, and still had an hour to kill before he reached his destination. He could arrive earlier of course, but being early would seem too eager so he had to let the hour go by. He had to let it go by and now he was bored.
Then he saw one of those little gems of telepathy. He didn’t bother with them often as it usually just led to more awkward encounters, but his desperation must have been high, because he reached out and grabbed it, summoning the astral realm to him, and his fateful companion.

Shaoran grunted as he slammed back the last scotch that he allowed himself as his gaze swung over to the porthole of his ship. The others were out at the moment, most of them taking care of preparations to get ready for some sort of smuggle operation. The Bruiser shrugged his shoulders, rolled them, and then leaned back against the chair as he pushed it against the back of the wall.
His gem around his neck flared to life and snatched him away into the realm as he looked down at it and sighed, "Aw, man, not no-" He was whisked away into a land of alcohol as he shook his head. Well, it at least had drink for him. In other words, a bar. In it, of course, he was the only one with battle power, and he probably stood out from the faceless crowd, what with his tattoos. "Who'm I gonna meet?" The Smuggler wondered out loud.

Yes, this was one of the reasons Frieza disliked the Astral Realm. Not only did it place him in questionable company it placed him in questionable places. Still, he could sense the man in front of him was real in this mess of nondescript people.
“Are you that desperate for a drink you must dream up a brothel?” he asked curtly.

The Saiyan tilted his head a bit and then turned and looked over to see a Changeling. No, wait, that wasn't just any Changeling. "Desperate? No, but I did finish one right before I got pulled here," he answered fairly nonchalantly.
The man pushed away from the bar and looked at the man once again. He didn't want to be overly rude, "Name's Shaoran, smuggler from the Star Wolves." Not that he asked, but he figured that they could have a..civil conversation for the time being, as his tail stayed wrapped around his waist.

“Hmph,” was Frieza’s only response to Shaoran’s denial. His hands clasped behind his back and he looked beyond the Saiyan at the bar as if he could find anything interesting here. Even if this were a real bar, he doubted there would be anything worth his attention.
“Based on your response, I’ll assume I do not need an introduction,” he said simply. Despite Shaoran’s nonchalance, there was no disguising the recognition in his gaze upon first turn, and it was something the emperor was very used to seeing.

Wow, what chatty fellow. Then again, a bar based on the criminal planet was less than likely to impress one of the Emperors of planet Frieza. At the actual set of words, the Saiyan gave him a little grin. "I suppose that's fair, Lord Frieza." He said it without a twinge of fear. Maybe because he'd always been kind of reckless.
"I don't suppose you got bored of torturing Grunts and came here looking for more sport?" He asked. Though a Bruiser, it wasn't like anyone on the planet had met him. Not like he planned to go back there any time soon.

Frieza’s lips curled up at the man’s retort, pleased he didn’t place stupid and was wise enough to use his title. He knew better than to expect fear from anyone in this place. Not only could you not be killed here, it also attracted a certain type of mind. He would not come across anyone so lowly as to cower here, which could prove an annoyance.
“I threw the last one out the space port not realizing it was the last one,” Frieza replied, finally looking back to him with a nonchalant smile of his own. “Why, are you offering?”
Rei — 07/29/2023 10:26 PM
"Wow, out the space port. Gonna get his family a gift basket or wine?" Fear was of course reserved for those that didn't understand the Astral Realm. He hadn't met many that met such a requirement.
Of course, the nonchalant smile combined with the question was a bit unnerving. But he decided that he'd just have to play along somewhat. "Offering for that? The better question is if I have a choice," he replied with a chuckle. Even if he'd be fine in the real world, that didn't mean it wouldn't hurt like a bitch in the Astral Realm. He still knew better than to be a smart ass.
