Yua: Combat Rune + Telepathic Link (WC: 1,309)
Zyren: Gem (WC: 1,181)
NobleTrinity — 08/09/2023 6:10 PM
Two men entered the same Astral realm 'room' at the same time side by side, the canvas of white space blank for barely a brief moment before it pulled an environment out from their thoughts.
Or, specifically, the short haired, spiky tipped blonde's head in particular. The man with silver hair that reached halfway down his back tsked as the environment grew dark, giant trees and mushrooms filling the space around them at a frightening pace as a moon--the moon called Laix- appeared in the sky far above.
"Miss this place that badly?" Soul grumbled out loud as Zyren crinkled his nose in response.
Rei — 08/09/2023 6:58 PM
Yua laughed as she stepped from behind a tree, in a different look than the last time they met, but with the same voice. Now she had a more toned body, and it looked oh so real. She had long red hair and crimson eyes as she smirked at the pair.
"Soul and Zyren, it's been a while," she said as the woman stepped into view. She had two blades at her side, though neither was sheathed. They were too long by far to be in scabbards.scabbard.
She tilted her head at them as she scoured her memory banks and asked, "I've been to many worlds in this universe, but which planet is this? It looks a bit like Mortoseth..."
NobleTrinity — 08/09/2023 9:09 PM
Neither of them seemed that surprised to see someone else was here, Zyren taking in the Yua's change of appearance smoothly after his interaction with Puar and all of her variations. Soul, on the other hand, was surprised for a few seconds but shook it off after looking her over a bit approvingly. "A new chassis, miss Yua?"
Zyren rolled his eyes and nodded at her question, an almost excited inflection entering his voice as he talked more than his normal; "My old home. Good to learn and fight, to rely on more than sight. To be quiet." He practically beamed at that last statement.
Rei — 08/09/2023 9:59 PM
"Not quite old, but about six, seven months old?" She answered with a little laugh. It was the one that she used to test Joseph, and had additional programming for combat. It had all three of her prime combat modules: Z.E.R.O for magic foes, S.O.C.M. for normal, and B.F.M for true enemies. Along with the hidden Primal, that she only accessed at great moments of stress.
Hmm, a home planet that he didn't name. But she wasn't sure about Soul. Was this also his home planet, or only the blond one's planet? A question that she'd need to ask later. The android smiled as she answered, "Fair, a valid option. Is that also why you have a unique friend?" Her head motioned to Soul.
NobleTrinity — 08/09/2023 10:03 PM
Zyren frowned at her question before giving a reply that caused a flicker of sadness to flash across the other Saiyan's face: "No, not friend. How are you friend with yourself?"
Soul cleared his throat and took a step forward, trying to appear nonchalant as he changed the topic: "So, what brings you hear to Zy's humble abode?"
Rei — 08/09/2023 10:43 PM
She observed the reaction, and such was burned into her memory. She'd remember not to ask again, before she smiled lighter, thought, "I know plenty that would wish to be friends with themselves. Alas, they hate themselves more than others."
"Is this not the Astral Realm? As you can no doubt notice, I come armed for combat," Yua replied with ease as she touched the handle of her crimson blade. "Care for another lesson?"
NobleTrinity — 08/09/2023 11:31 PM
Zyren immediately dropped to all fours and sank into the knee high foliage as his power seemed to fade as he instinctively suppressed it, yet Soul stood warily; "Yes." He growled, the one word vibrant with the strong desire to improve. "I plan on being a tougher challenge than last time." With that, he held out his hand from his side and concentrated, a flash of flame filling their dark surroundings for only a moment as his sword was pulled into existence.
Soul then said, his voice low, emotion bleeding from it to leave it monotone and lifeless, "Ladies first."
Rei — 08/09/2023 11:37 PM
Well, would this be a reversal of roles from their last bout? Yua smirked before she pulled the crimson blade free and then the silver-white blade. She helf the long blades without any balance issues. Just as one might expect from an android, without auro correction for such things. "If you insist," she mused. The loss of emotion was something that she'd have to touch on.
She grinned, before her body floated off the ground without sound as she suddenly flew at the two and lead her attack with a charged wire that was flung in Zyren's direction, before she spun like a top and slashed one blade into the marshy ground and flung the dirt up. Distraction by it for but a second, and then she was gone.
The android slashed towards Soul with devastating strength as she sought to give him a taste of her true power, at least in her base form.
NobleTrinity — 08/10/2023 12:20 AM
The charged wire sliced foliage, bark, and dirt all with the ease of a hot knife through butter, but the hybrids flesh wasn't one of them. Zyren hopped up and to the side, his feet and hands seeming to glide into the bark as he stuck himself into it before jumping off at a diagonal to rush her position with a slash of fingers and limbs.
Yet he hit nothing but dirt from her smokescreen.
Soul however narrowed his eyes, his sword flicking up and around to come to bear against her own. However, he had a rough idea of her strength from last time and with his practice of the sword, the best thing to do was to divert force. Metal met metal with a clash of sparks that lit up the darkness as he deflected it to the side, then used the counterforce generated from their difference in strength to spin him around and lash out with a diagonal strike of his own.
Rei — 08/10/2023 12:25 AM
The only problem with his attack was that she lashed out and grabbed his blade with her hand as she grinned at him. "What now?" She dragged his sword towards her in the same motion. So filled with momentum that wasn'r his own, she thrust her elbow at his stomach in a counter strike as she grinned and then snapped her fingers.
This was one of her own special creations, as she ignited the air around Zyren with energy, a one time trick that he was likely unable to avoid easily. With that, she turned her attentions back towards Soul as she started to rain blows at him as she decided on a divide and conqure strategy against the soul-bound pair.
NobleTrinity — 08/10/2023 1:01 AM
He barely gave a grunt as her blow sent him backward, yet he let the blade go not by accident but on purpose. Her attacks started to rain down upon him, yet he braced himself and summoned the blade from her fingers to intercept hers once more.
Sparks grew as the blade shivered in his hands, his stance helping turn the assault into a co-opted web of steel around the pair.
Zyren groaned, smoke trailing from his form as he hit the tree behind him from the sudden attack. He had trouble manifesting his Ki outside of his body and the fact she did it so easily, and almost akin to a trick did him good.
Rei — 08/10/2023 1:10 AM
Though he struck to move bet blade aside, he would start to feel it. Though he moved such strength aside, each movement cost him stamina. Stamina that was limited compared to Yua's.
It was only when she seemed to pause that he'd find that Yua shoved psychic energy towards his stomach, and likely too late, so focused on her blows.
Even if he did, the android moved with practiced patience, at she stepped into his defense again, as she rained blows again , they became more complex. She even slipped out a second weapon that stabbed at him instead of the slashes abs hammer blows of her lengthy blade. "Not so talkative this time. A shame," Yua commented.
NobleTrinity — 08/10/2023 1:54 AM
Easy breath grew harder as his defense continued, yet he only grew annoyed at how she didn't tire. Was his stamina high thanks to his biomechanical nature? Yes. But one area failed in comparison to a full android, and that was the fact that she didn't tire like living things did. He slipped up, his movement too slow compared to her own, but the strike that came was one he didn't see. Barely sensed it in fact as his clothes fluttered in a way that they shouldn't from their movements and by the time he registered the possibility of what it was, the air had left his body and he was reeling backward.
Then came the second weapon came, and so did his. Hers was of finer make and longer, but his held the capability of being held closer to the body as a dagger clashed against that second sword. Yet, now pressed on two fronts by superior strength, speed, stamina and skill it was driving him back, even if he had the full intention to let her swings go through.
Zyren, however, sprung up behind her as Soul said dully; "You didn't say you wanted to talk."
Then he joined the brutal melee from behind, trying to sandwich her between the two and limit the movement of her offensive and defensive capabilities.
Rei — 08/10/2023 9:23 AM
She was not so easily surprised, but she held the advantage in speed, strength, and even toughness. Her metal shell was likely capable of shrugging off Zyren and Shell if she put her all into defense, though she wouldn't want to to that to the two of them.
"Don't warriors usually talk a lot of smack while fighting?" She asked with a laugh, but then she added, "You know you lack something in your swordsmanship? It's not the stamina," she only paused briefly as she enjoined melee with Zyren as she split them to one blade apiece, the shorter blade for Zyren as she rained blows upon them even fiercer than before as she fully engaged her Majin mark now, a crest that neither of them could see,
"What you lack is joy in what you're doing. Reducing yourself to nothing is no good," the android pointed out. "You let your guard down earlier, but that could have been fatal." Yua wasn't just talking smack, shge was trying to tell him something. To reduce your emotions to nothing could actually dull your sense of danger. "Fear is integral to survival. Unless you believe Frank Herbert and believe that 'fear is the mind killer', I guess. Even then..."
She then turned her full attention and blades on Zyren as she blurred in all of her attacks, and attacking him in a whirlwind, from the front, side, back, side, front, back- it was brutal in it's apprpach, but utterly efficient as she had super charged her movement. "You'll find that pure animal instinct can be useful in moments like these." Her main weapon had changed into a scythe, so that even if blocked, it would still pierce his defenses.

He heard her words and the advice within over the humor, yet frowned; He did enjoy his sword skills, or would if he didn't find them lacking in more than just stamina. He lacked the edge he remembered having in his prime, yet for the life of him couldn't remember the difference. Skill, perhaps? If he took out his reduced power from the equation...
I'd lose against myself from skill and as she said, enjoyment. Life on the line coupled with Saiyan pride and ferocity.
He thought, then felt the glimmers of suppressed surprise rise up as she suddenly grew stronger and faster before attacking Zyren, the latter of which who completely abandoned offense in favor to defend to the best of his ability as he felt death's intent settle upon him and give him goosebumps. He moved, his movements not normal for a classic fighter when it came to martial arts, weaving, hopping, and dodging where he could and raising his arms where he couldn't. The latter of which happened more frequently then the former, and he growled as his blocked arm crashed against his chest accompanied by it's friend, the scythe who had put him there.
And buried the point in his shoulder quite aggressively. Blood dripped from that wound in addition to the multitude of cuts and scrapes that varied in size and depth across the hybrid's body from where he had been to slow to enforce his body with enough Ki to defend with.
"Yet, attacking him left you open for me," Soul said quietly, blood-red mist joining the aura that flared into life around him as he removed the muscle limiters by force by prodding a pressure point with a surge of internal Ki. Then, he strove to swarm her with attacks, each careful and focused on precision rather than speed or intensity of strikes.

Offense was the wild child's forte, while Soul's appeared to be defense. She was not exactly sure why he's split his attentions like this, it felt like an intentional design flaw, she had to admit. Yua frowned deeply, though it seemed that her little low worked.
Yua turned and looked towards Soul and she smirked at him. He made the mistake to think that her back was open. It seemed like the gates of a treasury opened up as portals opened up not just from her back, but also in a cage around him. Yes, he must have forgotten that Yua was not so easily trifled with. The charged ki attack would pierce any barriers as she said with a smile, "Plans within plans." She always had back up plans. Twin rounds fired off at the white-haired of the pair, but she wasn't done with Zyren.
She used the chance to place a hand to the scythe and ripped it out painfully from his shoulder, before she resumed the mixed attack, as she said calmly, "The problem with splitting yourself up like this, is that you must share your strength." She was indeed much faster and stronger than before, and she drew on the next generation strength, enough that the pair would have to engage their own forms just to compete with the android.
But she enjoyed the teaching aspect. It was rare that she got to help at the dojo for greater lengths, as she was forced to leave that to her own inner soul, Yuna, but such was the lament of a General. Her attacks against Zyren suddenly ended then as she blurred at Soul, who should have just finished his entertainment with the purple arrows that rained on him, as she appeared at his back with a heavy kick and then a swift grab for his head.
