Excavation Ryomen Sukuna Word Count: 275
In the desert plains outside of West City were dig sites where archeologists excavated for artifacts said to be buried underground. There were tales of ancient cities and burial sites from millennia ago rooted beneath the surface of the plains. Sukuna's vessel, Kaito, was a worker on such a site, digging through the ground with careful precision and care in the sweltering heat. It was an honest living sure, but beyond that he had a passion for discovery and sought to learn as much as he could about the unknown.
"Alright Kaito, take a break," The project manager said to him.
Kaito wiped the sweat from his brow and took five, sitting upon a folding chair and drinking a bottle of water.
Suddenly there was a disturbance, a man had found a small marbled vase that had been sealed by a paper with ancient markings written over it. He brought his findings to the project manager, who in turn studied it.
"Looks interesting," He uttered.
But then the vase began to glow with a sinister pale light, and it erupted from its container, morphing into a pale wolf that was larger than a man. In shock the men attempted to flee, running for their lives, but this was no ordinary wolf.
This pale wolf was a yokai, a cursed demonic spirit that took the form of an animal. It harnessed primordial power, blasting dark energy from it's mouth, narrowly missing a man and erupting the ground in a loud shockwave.
Kaito booked it out of there on foot, he couldn't believe what he had seen.
Someone, anyone, had to save them.

Comic books weren’t so bad.
Nappa had largely tried to avoid reading; it wasn’t that he was illiterate, but he felt that technology had advanced beyond words on the page for entertainment. Between plays, television shows, movies, video games, and more - entertainment had far and away become a visual medium to be absorbed.
However, comics threaded the line in a way that he could tolerate.
He was reading a new comic that had been recently recommended to him by some random passerby in the shop he had been browsing, but it held his attention fairly well, about some superhuman figure saving the day from evil. He liked those types of stories, because it largely reminded him of himself. While he wasn’t doing the kinds of things those heroes were doing, he helped out Earthlings in his own way when he could.
A flicker on his Scouter drew his attention, though, and he immediately clicked it. Within moments, he had closed the book and was rushing out of his house. There hadn’t been much interaction, but the essentials had gotten passed along: Archaeological dig... outskirts of the city... explosion of power... vulnerable scientists. He was on the way, ready to save the day. As he rushed out of his home, shooting into the air, he could almost imagine a brightly colored cape flowing behind him.

"What the heck is that thing?!" One of the men shouted in fear, running as fast as his feet would allow him. Kaito ran alongside him, not daring to look back.
"I don't know! It's not like any wolf I've seen!" Kaito shouted back over the roar of the pale wolf's bone chilling howl.
He had heard tales before, heck, they all have. Stories of guardian spirits, ancient spirits, demonic beings, familiars and yokai, the names go on and on. But they didn't really exist right? There was no way, yet here he was, running for the hills away from one.
"Aaaahh!" A blood curdling cry was heard in the distance. This time Kaito dared to look back, and to his horror he witnessed a fellow worker get torn to shreds by the wolf monster. Blood and viscera coated its snowflake fur, the crimson lifeblood liquid dripped from its fangs and coated the sand underneath its paws.
Desperation colored the faces of the feeling excavators, and the spirit wolf opened its mouth, summoning forth power from the spirit realm, harnessing it and shaping it into a ball of supernatural energy.
This one was the largest of them all - and it fired the blast directly towards the fleeing excavators.
All Kaito could do was pray that a savior would arrive in the nick of time.

More Powerful Than A Locomotive... Nappa Word Count: 361 / 593 PASSIVES: Champion II
Within moments, the dazzling lights and soaring skyscrapers of the city had faded in the distance, leaving the suburbs and winding roads. Nappa kept his eyes out, scanning the ground for anything that stood out of place, but he hadn’t yet found anything that sounded like an excavation site. In his experience, most excavation sites he’d heard of were in desert areas or swamps; there wasn’t really much in a city’s outskirts that would fit either description.
After a couple of minutes of searching, though, the landscape suddenly changed. The evergreen trees had almost vanished before his eyes, and the color palette of the land below him shifted to tans, oranges, and reds. His heart started to calm down a shade as he slowed; after some closer examination, his eyes were drawn to a dust cloud somewhere to his left.
Changing course immediately, the Saiyan began rocketing towards the dust cloud. The closer he got, the more he could see the outlines of small figures - humans, probably, fleeing the site - and a much larger figure at the back. It was only when he was close enough that he could make out the details of the excavation team that he recognized what he was looking at.
It was a massive wolf.
Bigger than any that he’d seen before, and just when he locked onto it, the wolf leapt forward and began tearing one of the runners to pieces. Between the screams and the splashes of carmine staining the sand, it was a gruesome sight. Nappa knew he needed to act fast. Without thinking, he flew down to the surface, aiming to be right between the fleeing scientists and this demon monster. He hit the ground just in time to see that as he had been approaching, the wolf had been charging a ball of Ki.
Instinctively, he lifted his hand to block the blast, sending it harmlessly flying into the air. He took a breath, bracing his body for the creature’s approach, and shouted over his shoulder, “Run! Get out of here as fast as you can! I’ll hold it off!”

Hopeless Creature Ryomen Sukuna Word Count: 302/808
Time slowed to a crawl for Kaito. His short and uneventful life flashed before his very eyes - a power point of mediocrity. Was his purpose to live and die wallowing in obscurity? Was fate such a cruel mistress? Thankfully fate had more plans in store for him yet. The ball of energy the beast unleashed whizzed through the air, slicing through ozone like a hot knife to butter. Yet an explosion never came thanks to the efforts of a large man that touched upon between the beast and the scientists. He guided the blast away with his bare hands, an inconceivable sight for Kaito to behold.
"Run! Get out of here as fast as you can! I'll hold it off!"
The scientists did as they were instructed, and they ran for their lives. Thankfully a convoy had been set up just a few more yards down the hill, thus, they would be able to make it to safety.
Save one. Kaito approached the large man and stood at his flank, his skin was marred with black tattoo markings of a primordial nature. He looked forward at the white wolf with crimson eyes that swelled with disdain and disgust.
"A hopeless creature," The man's voice was as dark as it was sharp. "It may be powerful, but it lacks intelligence. You can use that to your advantage."
The man rose into the sky and drew the attention of the feral wolf spirit. With a snarl it generated another ball of energy within its maw and fired it directly at him, but much like the hero had done, he tossed it harmlessly to the side with a swipe of his palm. While the wolf's attention was on him, it gave the heroic man the opening he needed to strike.

“A hopeless creature.”
A cold voice, calculating and devoid of any empathy, met Nappa’s ears, causing him to jerk to his side and stare at the person beside him. Perhaps a teenager, or young adult - either way, he was human. It was unnerving to see a regular human speak with such a lack of compassion, but as the man continued to talk, Nappa noticed dozens of black tattoos crawling along his body. Was there some sort of magic going on?
“...you can use that to your advantage.”
Before the Saiyan could ask any questions, the man rose into the sky, his very presence alone drawing the attention of the white wolf. There was no visible aura, but Nappa could sense the energy rising in the stranger who floated into the sky; he was grateful for that, because already the wolf had decided to target the scientist, shooting a ball of energy up at him. Nappa started to fly after it, but something about the unshakeable arrogance of the man now floating in the sky told Nappa he didn’t need to worry.
He hesitated a second longer, before deciding to take advantage of the opening by rushing the beast head on. Within moments, he stood directly in front of it, and leapt into the air, wrapping his arms around its thick, meaty neck. Using his full reserves of strength, Nappa managed to link his hands together right at the wolf’s nape and squeezed. His muscles bulged and the monster immediately reacted, shifting its head side to side to violently try and fling the Saiyan off.
Nappa held firm, though, trying to bring the creature down in one slow, agonizing attempt at knocking it out. His eyes darted to the sky to make sure the one who had stayed behind to help him was still fine; thankfully, he appeared completely unharmed by the wolf’s attack moments before.
