The child’s combinations were quickly repelled by intercepting strikes wielding merely her fingers and their sharp claws. Each set of stings pierces him and makes his attacks fall short. One met the center of his palm, causing a hot pain that radiated through his hand; before the piercing finger jabs met his armpit, triceps, and other areas, it felt like he was swarmed by wasps. She had turned the pace of this fight on him, and her grin showed she knew it. Joseph tried his best to ignore the lingering pain radiating through his body. The Tigress sprung toward him again, empowering her stingers with ki. He gritted his teeth as he stepped back and pivoted to the side, steering his shoulders from the first ki-empowered strike. When the second stinger came his way, he dropped down and ducked under the blow, sloping to weave under its path evading their touch and their explosive after effect. He almost felt like he got lucky that she decided to switch to those ki-empowered strikes. Other than them being slower than the jabs, he also had the advantage of not being committed to attacks. He couldn’t let it continue like this. He was slow and stupid in that last exchange, and he lost a good deal of momentum. She even took on a more diminutive form, taking away any chance he’d catch her punching down and the opening that came with that. He decided now the best he could do was remain the aggressor but with some adjustments. Joseph circled around Distora as he shot three jabs at her head, two light and quick, one heavy. He kept circling around her as he threw more punches, shooting another two jabs at her nose, followed by right cross at her chin. Once he was at her center, he swung his elbow at her chin before doing two quick chain punches before stepping back to avoid possible reprisal. The boy followed by moving in and closing the distance with another forward punch from his left, a hook from the other hand, jumping and spinning into a kick aimed at the side of her head. The boy shot two fist forward one over the other, launching them to slam into her chest with a double punch. He then pointed closed his hands with his fingers extended to mimick the beak of a chain before each hand in rapid succession the first aimed at her side to make her want to guard her body before his other hand shot at her neck. With the sun light finally gone and the pale moonlight making things harder to view, Puar put a major focus in her other senses like she eluded to doing earlier. Even with her night vision a factor, it was hard to use sight as a measure taking in account the smog and dust that swarmed around. She would make sure to utilize her ability to sense and smell even more so in order to keep track of the boy.
She could also use the sudden drop in light to formulate a strategy to catch him unawares.
He circled her. She followed his circling body using bursts of speed to keep up with his relaxed movements. He was fast and Puar knew she could not get faster. What she did was stay ahead of his movements with bursts of aura to keep his body in her sights and maximize her guard. His three jabs to her head were met by a stone guard being her forearm.
More punches came through aiming to her nose, and her guarding switched for two purposes. She needed to spread the damage out and she also was utilizing her own body to gauge his tempo. Every fighter had a tempo that they fought to and she needed to feel out his pauses and find the best time to counterattack.
His shots to her nose met her other forearm. With a quick switch to her previous guard, his cross shot to her chin met more of her arms. With another guard switch, she felt the spearing stab of his elbow against her tense muscles. She felt the battering of his chain punches.
There was a pause, and what Puar saw would be him taking a guess to a counter move. Smart, but his timing was just off. That subtle movement was more than enough time for her to shake off the stings and switch her stance up. Each time she shot her guard up, a burst of aura aided her in getting her arms in position to absorb the blow. She still did so with his punch, hook, and spinning kick combination.
Now, this would be all she needed to catch his tempo. The moment he shot his fist forward, she took a bursting step forward to attempt to jam her elbow into his sternum. Puar kept track of a shadow pocket, void of moonlight and dense with smoke and dust. Without wasting a second, she stepped to that shadow pocket as fast as she could with her free fist already cocked back.
Her fist was coming in like a jet, in both sound and speed. Her knuckles sliced through the air, which felt softer than melted butter. The impact would sound like a train crashing into a mountain. She shifted her footwork to give an extra burst of momentum. She hoped that watching his tempo earlier and sacrificing her body to get to know it would help her hit his stomach.
Upon contact, the fist would glow a vibrant red color around her knuckles and transfer the explosive energies onto its target. Then, a massive explosion would shake the area around them. It would cause a plume of smoke to rise into the air and hide the damage done to her victim. Even with him adjusting his assault to less committed movements, the feline menace could deftly maneuver to block each combination, catching every blow on her guard during the beat of time she needed. The Tigress moved in to intercept his double punch with an elbow. His position made trying to pivot or shuffle away untenable, so he quickly bent his arms amid the double punch, turning them sideways one over the other, narrowly forming a crossguard in time to catch the elbow; Distora would probably remember this shape of guard from the tournament. The impact of the elbow drove him back, an explosive pang of pain shocking his forearms and further agitating his burns as he flinched back. It reminded him why this was his least favorite way to block. It felt more for absorbing the impact than anything else, and the position of the arms wasn’t conducive for countering, not that he could counter ki-empowered strikes in this position; it felt like fighting in a phone booth. He saw her step back and cock back her fist. Joseph quickly tightened his crossguard to prepare himself for the incoming punch. The moment her fist made contact with his forearms, Joseph released a discharge of ki from his foot to propel himself back and released his tension, allowing some of the punches weight and explosive power disburse. He skidded back before making himself come to a stop, his arms shaking from pain. The boy urged himself to ignore the pain and made rose a fist before snaping it forward but it would stop short however, right as it would have entered her reach, Joseph shot a sudden kick to the side of Puar’s ankle, before bring the leg back and quickly snapping it another two times to strike her knee. Joseph then spun while hurling the back of his fist to smack across the Tigress’ jaw. Before he stepped in and swung another elbow at her head, then closed the combination with a quick snap of his leg to slam his sole into her stomach. He shaped his hands to resemble crane’s beak again and sent another two quick shots at Puar’s stomach, making a final crane beak strike at her left cat ear. The child retracted his hands, closing them into fist as he raised a guard at head level. He shot two jabs at her face, followed by a hook with his opposite hand. The child then fired another rapid jabs at her face again to lull her into expecting the same sequence before dropping his other hand arching it up to slam his fist into her stomach with an uppercut. The Tigress grinned as her shots hit marks on his body. Hitting his arms instead of his core, anticipating him to block, was the goal. Seeing it unfold gave her a sense of pride. She knew that her ability to read tempo and tendencies had not weakened, even as she borrowed it from this body and mind. It wasn’t just the Tigress that was impressed by it either, the one that was responsible for this personality take over was off taking his notes. He was impressed that the translation was this fluid. His voice easily communicated into her head and gave her a command she could not refuse, nor did she want to either. He wanted to see the full extent to Distora’s ability to shapeshift anything around her, even if it was what the minds could perceive and feel. Her handler wanted a demonstration, and that demonstration was on its way. The kick to her ankle and strikes to her knee brought her down, the tigress roaring in pain and shock. The boy was still able to move like this? No. This was pure martial art intelligence. He started his assault off with untouched limbs, his legs still more fresh than where she targeted. His onslaught, which started with a fist to her jaw, hit home and the tables completely turned on her. She moaned and groaned at his physical combinations. Her head snapped and blood splattered escaped her mouth every other punch. As he pushed her around, careful to keep her in his sights and in his striking range, their shadows danced around the moonlit city grounds. His final sequence felt like the same one, but even so at this point the boy should have been able to feel that she completely gave up on defense. Her body was slacked and she simply seemed to be looking for an opening rather longer than usual. But all that came to halt when he finally jammed his fist into her stomach, causing her to double over and then take several steps back with coughs parading the air. She took deep breaths and looked up at him, finally her look wasn’t as condescending as it had been. She could finally feel his strength behind his attacks. Her knees had gone weak, but Puar refused to fall down. “Good,” she stated with a laugh that sounded more delusional than cocky. “I chose the right victim. You are strong. I want that power.” Her form shifted, losing the hybrid tiger look it had before. It was a dark skinned woman with green eyes who stood taller than Joseph, for obvious reasons. Joseph had trained with this form before, when he learned his techniques from Puar she was in this form. He was trusted enough to know her true face, and seeing it would confirm that this was Puar’s body in full. There was a major difference in her energy, however. There was something demonic stewing in her energy that did not make her feel quite human anymore. The best way to describe it to Joseph would be Morrigan and Mazikeen, but only half way. She did not have Lilim’s feel either, so that eliminated one half of what she possibly could have been dealing with. Puar had been turned. Slowly, her fangs elongated to prove its point, and her eyes shaded into a glowing red color. “Your energy will be delicious,” she said, finally standing up straight. A psychic force attempted to hit Joseph's mind, trying to force him to lock eyes with her. For a moment, the shock to his brain felt ineffective. “This is the face of the woman you are trying to save. But can you really save her? Can you save me, Joseph? Help me? Are you qualified? Can you save Plutonia Argoni? Or will you let that bitch kill me? Kill your friends? Kill you?” At first, it was confusing how she switched the focus from saving herself to stopping an unnamed woman. Puar dug her out of his subconscious and brought her to light. A cold red energy beam shot passed Joseph’s cheek, missing him entirely. Before he could blink, a hole burrowed itself into Puar’s head and her eyes widened. She was in shock, and it was the kind of shock right before death -- her body falling limp and to the ground. It didn’t take any second longer after that before her southern twang filled the air. “Boy, you take too long to get rid of ya threats. I’m not so kind any longer.” If Joseph turned to the voice, he would only see glowing crimson eyes in the shadows of an alleyway. Aria approached him and stepped out of the darkness, fully showing herself to him dragging a rope behind her. One by one, three small bodies showed themselves, lifeless, battered, and bruised. Just by how their facial expressions looked it was obvious that they were tortured before ultimately succumbing to death. They were his friends. Karen. James. Emily. “Your mother is a little bit stronger than your friends. I still have work to do with her. I supposed that is a reason your father had relations with the woman," Aria said nonchalantly. She slung the rope and sent the three bodies closer for Joseph to look at. “You just don’t know when to put your monsters down. When will you realize that permanent solutions are the only ones to prevent these kinds of things from happening?” Her eyes looked down toward his lifeless friends as she said that and then she looked up at him. “Too late, just all too late. Isn’t this your worst Nightmare? Allow me to put you down so you don’t have to worry about your failures any longer.” The mad elephant didn’t give Joseph anymore time to process his grief or shock, if he was even doing so. She rushed at him like a stampeding mastodon. Her strikes were like tusks looking to impale him and tear him down. Her combination was strong with her strikes aiming to cave in his chest. But could he even concentrate? The lifeless eyes of his friends stared at him with tearful regrets and frozen fears stuck on their faces. It all felt so real, and all of Aria’s strikes would feel full and dense. After a few strikes, she would attempt to climb up his body, despite being short. She would wrap her thighs around his neck and squeeze tight to suffocate him. She hoped to force her weight forward to put him on his back. If that happened. She would raise her elbow to the heavens. Then, she would bring it down onto his head as if she wanted to split open a rock with a pickaxe. “You failed them,” she whispered during the drop of her elbow. This was the power of the Kai known as Distora. She used Joseph’s fears to create a scene which she controlled. Everything was real, except when it wasn’t. The bodies of his friends were shapeshifted from rubble. Puar's dead body was shapeshifted from a car. The one attacking him was still Puar -- in the guise of his obsession and unchecked fear, The Steel Legion Queen. His combinations started to land clean, and he witnessed Distora recoiling from the blows, even managing to draw blood. Joseph almost couldn’t believe it. However, the feeling of satisfaction was short-lived. During the latter half of his assault, he saw that she had seemingly given up on defending herself before the uppercut made her double over, and she looked up to him, saying good. The way it looked like she was reveling in the pain reminded him of Mazikeen. “I chose the right victim. You are strong. I want that power.” She said before her form shifted, becoming less bestial as she took on a fully humanoid form, one with more familiarity. Her true form, but the aura didn’t feel earthly. It felt more like demons he had, particularly Mazikeen and Morrigan. Joseph concentrates his spirit energy from within, stockpiling energy and then projecting it as a translucent layer of energy over his body, giving him a faint blue color. Her fangs elongated as her eyes gave off an eerie red glow, saying his energy would be delicious. She straightened his stance before looking at him. Joseph felt a shock hit his mind. It felt unnerving. He didn’t command any psychic abilities but was attuned to the feeling of something connecting to his mind, but surprisingly, after a moment, whatever force was engaging his mind suddenly felt ineffective. Distora spoke again. “This is the face of the woman you are trying to save. But can you really save her? Can you save me, Joseph? Help me? Are you qualified? Can you save Plutonia Argoni? Or will you let that bitch kill me? Kill your friends? Kill you?” The boy looked at her, bemused. What was she talking about? Who was she talking about? A glint of red whisked past him and struck the woman before him. The boy’s eyes widened at the sight of a hole in Puar’s head and the look of shock before she collapsed. “Boy, you take too long to get rid of ya threats. I’m not so kind any longer.” The female southern-accented voice. Joseph’s heart skipped a beat, palpitations pounding in his chest as he slowly looked over his shoulder and turned in its direction. He hated how familiar it was; he didn’t want to turn to what it was, but instincts compelled him to go see where it was. A dark shape with two glowing red eyes slowly approached, coming into the light to confirm his dismal suspicion: Aria. The boy quickly adjusted his stance, crouching slightly and raising his arms to chest level. What was she doing here, and why did she have to show up now? As she approached, he noticed the rope she had in hand and saw things dragging behind her. He looked as they entered the light. His eyes widened as he gasped at the sight. It couldn’t have been, Joseph implored himself to believe. They weren’t downtown. He made sure they were safe before he came here. The boy started to shake. “Your mother is a little bit stronger than your friends. I still have work to do with her. I supposed that is a reason your father had relations with the woman," She said before throwing the ruined bodies at the feet of the child. Joseph glanced down at them, then back at Aria. She spoke again. The shaking child grew tense as the Steel Queen said. “You just don’t know when to put your monsters down. When will you realize that permanent solutions are the only ones to prevent these kinds of things from happening?” Joseph thought back to the Saiyan Elite, who had been sent to rob him. After he and Chaga beat the Saiyan, Joseph saved him from falling to a possible death and simply let him be when he couldn’t fight anymore. Not long after, he heard about the Elite killing his own son. That wasn’t the only memory brought to his conscious thought. A while after that, he confronted another Saiyan for killing a student of Kami. During that encounter, he learned that that same had a Majin connection to Halcyon and was using one of Chaos’ planets to grow a tree of might. One of Joseph’s attacks left Halcyon at death's door, which horrified the boy. He had complied with Vegeta’s demand to concede, fearing for Halcyon’s life whether the primeval would get caught in the crossfire or succumb to the injuries inflicted by his attack. Whenever Joseph thinks about that fight, he can never help but wonder if he could have surmounted that Saiyan had Halcyon been allowed to die. The majin connection that he had relied on throughout that battle would have been lost to him, and Joseph could have kept him from getting the power from the Tree of Might and made him face the consequences of his crimes. “Too late, just all too late. Isn’t this your worst Nightmare? Allow me to put you down so you don’t have to worry about your failures any longer.” Aria said before she rushed him. The speed took him by surprise. The barrage of strikes was true to the ferocity of Steel Queen as the strikes pounded his body, sending shocks through his upper body that still burned after each hit landed. The child’s body appeared limp. All movement was him flinching from the weight of her strikes before she climbed him, wrapping his head between her thighs as her weight came down and forced the child to fall prone on his back. He could feel the legs tightening around his neck. It became harder to breathe, and it felt like his neck was cracking from the pressure. He saw her elbow rising. Yellow embers manifested near the boy’s feet before they started appearing around his body. “You failed them,” she whispered before the elbow came down. The moment the elbow connected, red flames exploded, engulfing the two as a shockwave thundered from where they lay, the force of managing to force the child from the head scissor hold and sending him a few meters from the woman. The red fires surrounded the child like an aura of ki while darkness surrounded his form, making him resemble a silhouette. The child rose from his prone position, brusquely sitting up and rose. Neither hand touched the ground to push up, nor did he shift in either direction as he bent his legs and got to his feet. “Whatever.” Joseph coldly said as he turned to ”Aria’s" direction. The display itself was marvelous. She sounded like Aria, spoke like Aria, moved like Aria. However, there were things that didn’t quite add up. The military presence, he could still sense the soldiers that were surrounding the area. They would have had the tech to pick up on an Android coming, and guns would have gone blazing after Aria refused to obey the order to stop and he didn’t hear a hear a shootout. As for his friends, he’d need a moment to pin down where exactly they were, but James and Emily were siblings and the children of a Galactic Patrol officer. Aria had targeted Eutharis’ for her conquest because she knew Adel didn’t have eyes there. So Joseph was sure Aria would twice before going after the children of a Galactic Patrol Officer just to piss him off, assuming she even cared about him that much. Puar also poked a hole in this setup. He fought her and trained with her. She or the one behind the driver seat with all her skills and techniques was too good to go down by a potshot, especially from someone they had time to announce the presence of. Plus during that colorful chase that lead them inside the mall, Joseph had gotten a quick look at the loot and he never forgot where things were. A car was missing, it was possible it could have gotten knocked away by the blasts from earlier, but it wouldn't be missing altogether. Still, Joseph was curious how far Distora would ride this out. "You can pass it like the real one," Joseph right before he became a red blur as he rushed toward her, appearing as a red and yellow beam as he closed the distance on her. He opened his retaliation by darting to each side swinging to slam his fist across her face with two heavy hooks. The boy then got in front of her and throw a flurry of punches, shooting his fist to bombard her stomach and chest. "Let's see if you can take it like the one." He then kicked kicked his leg straight up to slam under her chin with the bottom of his foot and then moved forward and threw another barrage of rapid hooks at her face, circling around her to strike at multiple angles and deny her time to set up a stable guard. Joseph then half closed his hands, curling his fingers to imitate the mouth of chomping wolf before he swiped rapidly swiped his fist at her, striking at her joints and sides before sending the last heavier blow at her neck. The weight behind the blows would make it feel like bombs were going off inside where they struck. They carry the shock of blunt force trauma and and would feel like his fists were on fire, her bones would feel like they were burning. So Puar’s first post is nothing to write home about. Like good or bad. He manages to keep track of Joseph’s attacks and counters appropriately but despite all the stringers it didn’t have a lot of zing. The same could be said about Joseph’s first post. I appreciated the logical responses in both and the concentration both characters were showing but it’s kinda like the talking point of an action movie. Joseph’s attacks are very this type of punch, this type of punch, this type of kick! Which is precise but lacks the zing.
Now I gave Puar points to his blocks for the second post. Again, it stayed very logical over cocky. The confidence she did protrude I’d expect in any seasoned warrior on this site, not to mention someone in the master’s guild. Each separate hit was acknowledged, pieced a part, and blocked in a way that kept me invested in reading it all the way through.
Blocking a counter is tricky, and if Puar asked I would have thought hard on it and probably failed this as only a partial block. You threw one punch, immediately throwing the next one in a double punch. Puar moved under the first one as you were throwing the second one which you wrote to be immediate after each other. Boy, you know boxing enough to bend your arm back mid punch let alone get BOTH arms back in time is a stretch.
Again, I appreciate the details in the strikes but the zing is just lost entirely.
Now, boy do I love a researched Nightmare. Even if it was just tossing in some names the reality of it really seeps in. And Aria is Aria. The little details he added really painted the picture so well to give off a really believable nightmare. The shock lifelessness on Puar’s face, the little battered bodies. Like, he wrote it like Aria just killed Puar and that was his storyline for today.
But Joe’s response to that Nightmare was some of his best writing thus far but this man had to RUIN it. The first half of his post doesn’t match up with the second half. You can’t write to your ref believing it and having an emotional reaction just to come out of NOWHERE to be like I knew it all along! He noticed the car gone? Bro when? He noticed there was no police? WHEN? You have to meld that shit INTO your initial writing or explain it properly. You can’t write your character reeling, having flashbacks to past battles, shaking head to toe in fear of this reality to then be like, in the middle of being pummeled no less, he exploded her off him realizing somehow it was “Aria.”. I hate you for that, and really hope you grow into a writer than can meld that shit together because man it could have been BEAUTIFUL. You had the content to make it work, the clues make sense, but you just kinda half assed it, shoving it in the end without giving up any inkling to when these realizations were made. Like even if you couldn’t meld it, he could have thrown her off in self preservation, and taken that moment to calm down and stop and think, What were the police doing? Why didn’t he hear them? Wasn’t there a car there? How did Aria do this…shit that aint Aria. HAHA! COCKY RESPONSE. Instead the realization is completely hollow.
So I gotta decide here between one really great post that fell short and Aria’s solid run. Like he was just completely solid this round. I don’t have any complaints except for what I have for Jospeph as well. Joseph also had a number of GRAMMATICAL ERRORS. Solid wins the round over potential. Aria keeps the reward, but damn Joe, I am proud of you.
Joseph: 93.3% Puar: 52.57%
Joseph is Near Death but very confused about this fact. Last Ditch Effort is off the table for 10 actions.

Her body flailed, a gasp escaping her lips while she was airborne. Puar performed a flip with the elegance of a feline and landed on her feet as she always did. Her form shimmered away from Aria and toward the dark-skinned woman from before. All of the players in the nightmare faded away, as the boy’s ominous crimson aura brought light to the darkening city. “Of course I can,” she said back to him when he spoke about her passing like the real Aria. Distora did not know her limits, but something like that was within the known limits of her abilities. She was marveled by this power and change in his personality. His level of power did not actually increase, but the density of his seriousness did. An unseasoned warrior would confuse this with a power spike. But, the Distora possessed Puar knew this was in line with a second wind instead. Puar could tell she did significant damage to him, and looking down to herself she could tell he did some to her too. Her adrenaline was still running high. But, she could feel the pain creeping up. It showed no signs of stopping its intensity. I will have to tap into the dragon’s healing factor, she thought to herself before looking back up to Joseph. “What no--,” she decided to say hoping she could provide a big enough distraction to shift, but that was an immediately failure. He had already closed the distance, and she gasped loud. He was the brighter light source. That source zapped in front of her, stopping with a boom. It sent pressure that fluttered her hair, making the woman reel back in surprise. Joseph was no longer holding back. He swung his fist at her face with two hooks. Surprisingly, the pain was not as great as she anticipated, and she knew why. Her attacks earlier had a specific aim. It was his arms and body. She targeted his arms to lessen his punching power over time. She targeted his body to weaken his legs underneath him. She could feel the fruits of her tedious labor on the first two hooks, and she wondered what attacks did their number on him the most? Was it the bullet bites from her fingers he took haphazardly? Or was it the elbow he block? Her explosive fist he took head on? Either way, her aura shot out in burst like they did before in attempts to push away from his strikes as they came and lessen their impact on her. She knew she could not escape him all she could do was weather this tiny storm until there was an opening. A flurry of punches impacted her chest and stomach, making it difficult for her to maintain her footing to adjust. She attempted a guard, but his speed was far to great. Instead, she continued to adjust her body at each impact to slip his punches off after. If she was going to take his hits, she was not taking them to their fullest. It did not prevent her grunts of both pain and frustration from singing out into the world, though. He switched up, striking her with his leg, almost breaking her footing as she hopped upward. She stabilized herself with a burst of controlled flight. She placed her feet back on the ground and curled her body into a guard. That guard did nothing against his strikes, but her body had gotten use to his ability to put power into his punches. Puar wasn’t worried. As a fighter pain passed, even when he switched stances to increase the power of his punches. His blows were heavy, but she did not feel them to be like bombs -- she felt them to be like high quality fireworks. Puar could tell he wanted to put more power behind it, but could he really with such damage already on his limbs? His final show toward her neck was used to put space between them more than just her simply taking it and trying to maintain footing. Her feet shuffled to the side a few feet. She shuttered in pain. Then, she looked his way. Her pupils were slit, like a reptile's. Her crimson eyes shone gold. She had her hand over her mouth, wiping away trickles of blood and breathing heavily but not before her hand had reached into her pocket. “So…. you think… you are doing damage? Your punches lack the power… from before. Maybe you should heal before you continue,” she said with a chuckle and a loud crunch was heard before she swallowed a medicinal herb. She took her own advice. His punches hurt like hell, but they were not as effective now as they were then. Her breathing stabilized and her body stiffened. An aura simmered into existence around her, pure and white as snow. Now she started to let out grunts of pain and discomfort. She was transforming into something big. It seemed like her power wasn't rising, but her change affected the elements. Clouds rushed to hide the moon and left the only lights out being the pale street lights and the boy’s Omega aura. The aura around her body quickly fogged up and became solid and shaped like an egg, which then began to grow in size. Once the egg was about the size of a dumpster truck it began to crack. The sound filled the air loudly as each crack formed on the surface of the egg. When it finally exploded, the hard shells faded away into tiny beads of sand. At first, there was just a silhouette of a beast. The clouds finally found it safe for the moon to come back out. As the selective lighting hit the beast, its eyes were the first feature to be seen. Golden glowing eyes of a monster. Soon, there was enough lighting to see a dragon, with its scales blue and gold. During egg formation, Puar used the dragon’s healing factor to heal itself. there were a few more wounds on it, showing the healing factor was still working as the closed. “Kid, this body has a lot of surprises,” said a bellowing woman’s voice. It spoke, but there was no lip movement. It was as if she spoke through telepathy. She wanted to strike him, but she had to let as much of the healing continue. The state the boy was in, she knew that she needed to be able to weather the incoming storm. Turn Notes Current Form: Form 4 [7.5% per] Character's Damage: 12.65%? He could feel the impact of over a dozen strikes landing flush. It was worth the pain of agitating the pain that was throbbing through his arms. However, as the flurry went in, he started to feel more winded as it went on. He started to feel short of breath, and the pains in his body became sharper with each passing moment. Joseph noticed that her form shifted again, shifting from the image of Aria back to Puar’s true form. He watched as she recoiled from his assault as she wiped away blood. As she tried to reach into her pocket, Joseph started to lurch forward but suddenly felt his legs give out; he fell face-first toward the ground, narrowly setting his hands down to break his fall. The Demi-Earthling pushed the ground in an attempt to get back up but couldn’t push hard enough to lift his weight. His arms felt like wet noodles. “So…. you think… you are doing damage? Your punches lack the power… from before. Maybe you should heal before you continue,” She said with a chuckle. Joseph looked up to the sight of her consuming what he guessed was some type of herb. It betrayed that she is posturing, but he couldn’t stand, let alone capitalize. He felt her energy rise up from what it was before, reinvigorating her while Joseph lay exhausted, and his efforts were now freshly disparaged. The light that began to exude from her drew his gaze to her as the energy surrounded her. Joseph dreaded the thought of her taking another descension while he was in this sorry state of lethargy. Clouds shrouded the figure with the energy that cocooned her and took the shape of an egg that grew gargantuan before starting to crack. Lightning struck the egg, and the boy saw two yellow eyes giving off an eerie glow after a few more moments. The lighting returned enough to reveal the sight of a blue and gold dragon. It spoke in its mind, saying that the body had many surprises. He could feel Distora’s strength being restored as she spoke. The boy wanted to get up and run, but his body didn’t comply. Eventually, his arms lost the strength to push. The sight of the dragon started to blur, and he felt himself drifting off. It felt like it was over at this point; he had put so much he had into the flurry, put all his strength into this fight, yet Distora, the former Kai that conquered the will of a Master who bested him, was standing restored and in a larger, more imposing form. He doubted he could fight a lizard as he was, let alone a dragon. The boy wondered what Distora would do with his power? Continue her rampage? Joseph realized he was never in the habit of asking the bad guys about their motivation. The child lied on the ground, limp. His mind fired off with all sorts of things he wanted to do. Run, fight, at least stand, but his body wasn’t receptive to any of those requests. He wished that Yua didn’t lose interest in watching over him. It would have been nice to have her do one of her dramatic entrances to his rescue and take over or have Mona enter the fray and shoot looks of blasts, but those two were no longer a factor in his life. The boy thought of what would happen after once Distora had finished him. He wouldn’t be able to help his mom with her garden tomorrow. He Wouldn’t be able to help Karen with her homework or play any games with her, James, or Emily. He wouldn’t be able to tell his dad about this fight. He’d miss at least four weeks of school, assuming he’d come back this time. Puar would hate all this, he was sure. He wondered if she was aware of all this going on, being able to be a spectator to what her body was being used for. His friend was being capriciously used to cause destruction, and the boy couldn’t even stand up. His mind went back to the encounters with Broly. A good was brutally killed, and one of his best friends was brutalized. In the second encounter, his performance was so sorry Broly decided to blow his home country off the map. Why did he always come up short when it mattered most? Why couldn’t he ever be enough? “But can you really save her? Can you save me, Joseph? Help me? Are you qualified? Can you save Plutonia Argoni?” He tried to, but he tried every time. ”When innocent lives are on the line, try isn’t good enough,” Keres may have been insufferably peremptory and deluded, but that was one of the few things he agreed with. The fact he tried wouldn’t change the fact that Puar was being held prisoner in her own body, and it wouldn’t protect anyone from Distora going on another quest of wanton destruction, not the people of this City, not any of his loved ones likely hiding in a building terrified or free Puar. Blue lightning began to crackle from the child, sparks flickering around him. No, he couldn’t lose again, not this time. He had a friend right in front of him that needed him. The child slammed a fist into the ground and slowly stood to his feet. The electricity intensified as the child’s body flooded with a golden aura; he adjusted his stance, holding his arms out in front of him and widening his legs. Joseph gritted his teeth and leaned forward. He felt vibrations through his body as the ki vigorously ran through him. He lowered, placing a hand on the ground as he knelt and extended a leg back. Green eyes stared into the yellow eyes of the Dragon before he kicked off into a charge, dashing at the dragon. He threw three launched three rapid jabs at Distora's body before darting back a few feet and crouching down. He then jumped into the air, shooting from the floor toward the Dragon’s head. If Distora did not block or evade, his head crashed headfirst into her skull. After the moment of impact would have happened, Joseph started to fall back toward the ground, his eyes losing their focus and slowly closing before suddenly widening as the blue lightning discharged from him again. The boy clenched his fist and spun forward, curling into a ball as his aura enveloped him. The moment he was a mere few feet from the ground, a shockwave erupted from beneath the spinning warrior, and he was launched into the air, shooting upward uncurling and arching a ki enveloped fist up to slam under the chin of the Dragon. He spun to face Distora’s direction as he made his landing, stumbling as he touched the ground. A twinge of pain made him staggered. Joseph suddenly hacked and coughed up a gob of blood, leaving a puddle of standing blood that could halfway fill a cup. The battered child started to fall back before lurching forward. Joseph tightened his fist and stretched his arms to the side before rushing at Distora again. Once she was within his reach, he let his hands go, throwing a barrage of punches, jabs, hooks, and straights firing at blurring speeds. It appeared as if eight arms were coming at her. The child began to circle Distora; Dust rose from the ground, making a ring that encircled the dragon before rings of golden light emerged from the ground and formed into a tornado that threatened to lift the Distora into the air. Shockwaves erupted within the tornado as multiple bursts of golden light flashed at different points of the dragons body. This was Joseph riding the winds within the tornado and throwing multiple punches, targeting her gut, her sides, and her back. After finishing a few punches in the set, he’d flicker and strike at another part of her body before closing with an uppercut under her chin. After that second combination, Joseph retreated to the edges of the cyclone and circled her before kicking off from the tornado with a burst of ki from his foot. He became a ray of golden light as he launched himself at the dragon and struck again with an elbow. Joseph propelled himself from multiple points within the cyclone, eventually feeling space within with the beams of light that trailed behind him as he shot back to the edge of the tornado and shot for more blows at her body. He focused on the belly of the Dragon, shooting back and forth from it, leaving more and more beams to meet there before he closed, crossed his arms, and made a heavy slam at its chest. After that blow, whether it landed, the tornado disappeared, with Joseph no longer circling to sustain it. Joseph landed on the ground and looked up at the dragon. He crouched down and held his hands to the side while cupping his hands. “Ka-” his power rose exponentially. A red orb manifested in the space between his hands and lit the night sky with a azure glow. “Me-” Joseph began to sink slightly into the ground as a crater formed under his feet. “Ha-“ The ground started to rumble as the bright sphere expanded and shot beams between his fingers. “Me-“The orb grew more prominent and reached the size of a basketball; its light radiated and colored the sky in blue for a square block. “Ha!” Joseph hurled his hands forward, releasing a brillient blue sphere beam from his hands. The blast threatened to detonate on Distora if she did not escape it. The moment contact would be made she'd be consumed in an explosion of bright blue energy in an explosion that would create a dome of light that could be seen throughout the city. Joseph lowered his hands and hunched in exhaustion once the beam was finished. He panted and gazed in Distora’s direction to check the state of his foe. Post by Puar on Jan 17, 2024 14:32:57 GMT -5
Joseph collapsed right before Puar as she stood there in a similar state. To her advantage, she was the one healing and not him, the herb working its magic to uplift her. The last thing she saw before turning into an egg was Joseph looking her way wearily. Her crimson eyes watched. There was a very tiny speck of green at the very center of her gaze. It was one of the only specks of Plutonia. It looked on helplessly as one of her students dealt with an unleashed variant of her own body. The dragon appeared, breaking from the eggshell. The eggshell served as a regenerative factor. She stared at the downed boy. There was no sense of victory in her eyes or cockiness. Saiyans. The boy was strong and already showed his ability to kick start from a second wind. As Joseph lay there, no doubt hyping himself up with reasons to stand again, Puar thought to herself as well. Was Azara satisfied yet? There were sections of herself locked away, and the only thing he allowed her to feel was this aggression. What happened to her wasn’t a simple possession or a dominance of her mind by Distora herself -- it just looked that way. Puar could not blame anyone, let alone Joseph, for thinking that way. What she was dealing with was her mind being remotely controlled by an entity she once thought to be her father. He was playing with her like a toy. He showed off a fusion of Puar and Distora and used their best qualities as fighters. But in the Astral Realm, the mental world where all things connected through the mind, was the true Puar. It was the only way she could communicate with anyone -- it just came at the cost of watching herself destroy. Joseph was there. He was trying to save her. But even so, when he was trying his damn hardest, Plutonia wasn’t even looking his way. Her physical body and the hybrid mind created by Azara spoke as if Pluto was begging Joseph to save her. She only looked on through a rainstorm that served as her tears and anguish. She looked through Joseph. “....Help me,” she said for maybe the hundredth time, but she wasn’t talking to Joseph. “Help him,” she uttered this time, a fresh line of thought. That time she was talking of Joseph, but who could she be begging for help if it wasn’t the boy in-front of her? “He can’t hear you. "Shame, Oolong won’t come,” Pluto heard. This made her eyes lower almost to a close, and tears started shedding from her eyes again. “Watch him die.” The boy slowly stood up. He gathered his resolve like a true saiyan. Once again, a bellowing female voice came from the dragon. “Come die in the moonlight, boy.” He ran toward the draconic Puar and she braced from him. Three jabs impacted her tougher flesh, but still had the power to push her back. Like in her previous form, she did not underestimate the power behind his punches. Even when his arms lacked the power. She wasted no time stepping back after each punch, lessening the impact from all three. She winced in pain, but it was nothing compared to the headbutt that zoomed toward her skull. She made sure that it was an impact to the hardest parts of their heads, lowering her head to do so. She grimaced and grunted as her body slid backwards. Her feet ripped into the streets and tore the concrete from the earth as she slid several feet. A roar came from her maw, shaking the pain off with her arms extending. As he exploded into blue and bounced off the ground toward her chin, Puar swung her claw downward on him the moment he uncurled himself, her claw blurring out of view with how fast she swung it suddenly. Her sharp nails would clash with his body, leaving a trail of fire behind the swing. Puar knew that his spinning should be his downfall. He was confused and weakened as it is. How could he be fast enough to react? The claws clashing with his body would dig deep and disrupt his ki flow. She attempted to knock him senseless and towards the ground before he could react. She hoped to cave the ground into a massive crater. She burst forward, flapping her wings to gain a sudden and surprising amount of quickness. This would give her the beat on his attack. She would still feel the hit of his fist, however. It would lessen the impact enough to keep her from reeling. She would instead roar in a mixture of pain and adrenaline. After her counter, she needed to shake her claw if it connected. During that, she saw him rush. Puar took notice of his hacking and coughing. He left enough blood to satiate a blood drinker, and she salivated at his liquid crimson. His speed was amazing, but his power still lacked. At one point he felt like he was putting dents in steel, but Puar felt them more like he could only chip trees. They still hurt, no doubt. But she knew that spreading out where his punches landed would be more beneficial than letting them remain concentrated like she did to him. A tornado was being formed around her, which was a testament of his speed. Puar felt her body getting lifted off the ground, her toes dangling inches from it. With a strong flap of her wings, she stabilized her footing and gripped the ground with her clawed toes. There came a set of eleven strikes at blurring speeds. Puar utilized slip dodging to allow these generic punches to hit her body. This way, she dictated where she moved instead of letting him hit her full force. All eleven strikes would make her wiggle her body eleven times. When she got punched from the left, she moved to the right just after the impact. When she got punched from below, she would jump her body upward. She continued to do this, all while gathering his attack flow so that she could continue to ease the pain of his assault. Another set of ten punches went to impact her body, splitting between her gut, her sides and her back. His gut and side shots were coming in fast. She flapped her wings to generate backwinds to combat his tornado and lessen his momentum on each punch. “You just don't’ know when to sit down,” she grumbled between hits. His uppercut to her chin knocked her upward and she groaned. With another fierce flap of her wings, she had to restabilize her footing. The storm continued. He dashed at her with an elbow, her wings flapping to create more crosswinds against his momentum. She groaned at the shot. Each hit toward her belly didn’t reach her without a flap of her wings to slow him down. Even so, she continued to stumble back with each impact. That final heavy shot to her chest flung her backwards. She flipped in the air, blood leaking from her mouth. She placed her claws into the ground to stop her from flying too far away. She was on all fours with her wings flapping to slow her down. Now the boy was about a football field away. Puar stared at the boy from end zone to end zone. Joseph started channeling his energy. Puar felt his power spike. She dug her claws into the ground to serve as a tripod for stabilization, as if she was a long-range, high-powered rifle. Her wings expanded and her tail became rigid. At the tip of her tail started a glowing energy, and her mouth hung open. From the depth of her mouth was a glowing light that was getting brighter as the light from her tail’s tip began to proliferate. Her scales were glowing and growing toward her mouth. The clouds returned as both of them channeled their energies, the elements dancing at both of their command. Lightning struck the ground between them. From afar, anyone could see two bright light sources getting bigger and more powerful by the second. Both of them sank as craters were being made at the weight of their attacks and power. Puar pulled back her neck and took in a deep breath right before Joseph’s “Haa!!” and belched out a massive blast as she slung her neck forward. Joseph’s bright blue blast slung toward Puar’s bright white bomb of malice. Both met at the halfway point. Upon contact, the explosion was much greater than Joe expected. Puar flung backwards, using her wings to flap and make it more controlled. But mostly the pressure was like a nuclear bomb. It had enough pressure to send both of them several yards away—or even almost half a mile. The growing dome of white would overtake everything. Despite having the technology to protect the city, the firemen and militia were in danger. The barriers that tried to keep the buildings together cracked and shattered. The closer the buildings were to the epicenter of the blast, the more destroyed they were. A crater started to form from the impact. As the blast spread out, the barrier tech was able to withstand more and more of it. Once the bright white light settled, Satan City halfway stood the test. The people however…had more victims added to the list. Many had grave injuries. A rare few died on impact, especially those closer to the center. The ones that knew to run survived. It was not the dragon’s intent, but she did not care. The ground shook as she stomped toward Joseph. Her monstrous gilded glowing eyes were visible through the dust and smoke from the blast’s aftermath. And deep inside her, Pluto cried. She was killing again. After the explosion and the destruction of Satan City at the hands of the dragon’s retaliation the play ended. That was long enough of a distraction to get what she needed from the boy’s body. The scene itself shifted like a computer graphic glitch, a jarring snatch away of city destruction. Joseph thought he was out of the Nightmare. He thought he caught on to her tactic, but he did not understand that his realization was also part of her game.
After squeezing his head between her thighs until he lost consciousness, she infiltrated his mind and manipulated that rest of the battle in his head. She allowed him to keep powering up and exerting himself, why? Because she had sank her vampiric fangs into his chi line at the thin of his neck and was draining the power he exerted in his horrific dream state. She meant was she said earlier before his down fall --
His energy was going to be delicious.
It tasted like honey and sweet berries, soaking in his energy. Everything was normal as they could be when it came to siphoning his power, up until she tapped into a certain energy that stung the evil in her. She wanted to stop, but now that power was forcing its way into her body more than her taking from it.
It took time but she finally reeled back and gasped, the boys blood dripping from her fangs. Her eyes started to battle from its crimson look and to a vibrant green with Puar holding her head in anguish. The connection to her pupper master severed. Puar hit the ground with a gasp, as if she had finally pulled her head from underneath water, which was how she felt.
It was the normal Puar that choked and let out deep breaths as a strange energy circled through her.
The boy’s Alpha energy renewed Puar’s willpower and soul.
She looked over towards the comatose boy now and her eyes widened. Was he dead?
Puar rushed over toward him and placed her finger on his neck to search for a pulse. She pulled his head onto her thigh, serving them as a pillow as she frantically searched for a pulse.
There. It was barely there, but he was on the verge of death -- how much power did she drain from him. Speaking of power, she could feel her body shifting and becoming stronger. She took the boy’s lifeforce and she trembled with his head in her hand.
“I can’t let this keep happening,” she said, referring to all the other times she had been killed or hurt. “What have I done?”
Puar knew she had dug herself into a hole and it kept raining and making it hard for her to pull out of it. What will Puar do about the comatose boy? She knew one way to reverse the effects, and she knew that she owed it to him for trying to save her.
Puar needed to save Joseph.
