Joseph
After returning home from playing with his friends. Joseph returned home putting away his things and meditating by his gem of telepathy to take a trip to the Astral Realm.
//
Yan
Yan had mostly stopped using the Astral Realm for random get togethers long before his death. He had enough connections on his plate to be kept busy with them, or he just met people in the living world. There always seemed to be someone happy to interrupt his lunch when he tried to take one in public. He still used the astral realm, just not for randoms. He believed the place did toss you in with people meant to pop into your life he just hadn't bothered with it.
He wasn't sure why he did today. Perhaps is was after meeting Puar. Such an encounter was refreshing, so maybe some new person he'd never met before or someone who never had much of a connection to him would be a good change of pace, so he perused and ultimately ended up on the edge of a mountain. A boy was there, calling out to the void.
He was never a fan of kids, so maybe luck just didn't like him.
He lifted his hand like being called on in class and said "Hello."

Joseph turned his head in the direction of the voice to the sight of a Vaguely familar redhead raising his hand. He was surprised to see this man of all people. Their meeting were usually few and far between despite how close he was to his mentors and some of his worse enemies. "Oh hey, Commander Cass,"

Yan
“Little…uh…” Yan started in greeting blanking for a moment. He used to be very good with faces and names but that was before the hard drive of his memory was corrupted. Outside of the astral realm he had Juturna to cheat for him, but they were still working out the kinks of transdimensional linkage.
“Ha…” he started before remembering, “Joseph.” He wasn’t sure why he was thinking the boy’s name started with an ‘H.’ More glitching he supposed. But he had seen some data on Joseph more recently, just by chance.
“How goes the hero gig?” he asked. If he remembered correctly, Joseph was a very strange ten year old, but someone who wanted to be a good guy.

Joseph
Joseph looked at Yan bemused as he seemed to struggle to get his words out like he was trying hard to search himself to remember something. Then he had finally addressed him by name. Joseph wasn't surprised that he didn't immediately recall it. Then he asked Joseph about his hero gig. First Yua, and some Paladin Master he never met, and now him.
More people knew about what he was doing than he cared for. "Eh, mostly been random thugs lately and helping people with stuff."
That encounter Keres had given him reason to slow down on going after the really big bads of the Galaxy he mainly focused on school and training. So the fights as of late weren't as exciting as something like his fights with Chaos and Aria.

“Well what do they always say,” Yan offered. “No act of kindness is too small~” He felt like he was getting the saying wrong, but the sentiment was the same. Probably.
“The little guy is too easily forgotten, so you’re probably doing more good than you realize,” he continued, not meaning to give the boy a make shift pep talk, but Yan liked good guys as long as they were actually good. He had a very black and white childish view of ‘good people,’ and when he actually found someone who fit the mold, he always liked them, even if they hated him, usually with good reason.
Just as he advised Daji once upon a time, knowing it might make the fox turn on him later, Yan was very much about supporting people with whatever they wanted to do, which was part of why he was so liked despite the fact he was a murderer and monster in his own time. If Joseph wanted to be a hero, even if it placed them on opposite times at some point down the line, Yan would never fault him for it.
Unless he blatantly failed to meet the standard Yan had, then he’d be critical as all hell.

That didn't sound quite right. The saying was No act of kindness, no matter how small, is never wasted. but it was close enough, Joseph. Yan wasn't someone he expected to get aphorisms right.
He went on to say the little guy was too easily forgotten about and that he was doing more good than he realized. "Thats of along the lines of what my mom says,"
Joseph said as he sat down on the rock next to him. It wasn't like he felt like the things he was doing were a waste, at least not as of late though it had been boring. He looked at Yan. "Where are you now, in real life I mean?"

“Damaskia,” Yan replied with ease. “I’ve been bouncing around a lot as usual but there’s a lot of work to catch up with the Shadowguard. It turns out they’re useless without me, and my one year vacation in the next dimension was a very large set back.” The way he said it was more in jest, not actually believing the Shadowguard was in any way useless, but anyone coming back after a year was sure to find a number of their projects mishandled.
