Pan slipped her school book into her bag and head out of the classroom. School was finally done for the day and she was free for the afternoon, or so anyone would have thought. Really her afternoons were busier than ever with her training. Sometimes it felt like all she did was train. At least today would be different. She could spar with a new found friend she made. His name was Joseph and truth be told she didn't know much about him, except that he was a great fighter! Really that's all she needed to know for now. She arrived at the outskirts of town, in a large open area. 111

Joseph decided to go on a run after school was done for the day. The people walking about the streets caught glimpses of a fuzzy blue blur as the Half-Saiyan sped pass them on his way to the outskirts of the city. The blue wind weaved around the pedestrians and ran along the side of buildings. He was on his way to meeting a girl that he had met recently, another Half-Saiyan named Pan.
The boy made it to the outskirts of the City seeing an open field where the grasses spanned by miles with little more plants in sight apart from crops of wheat and bushes far in the distance. Joseph looked around while reaching out his senses to try to pinpoints Pan's energy. He found it and sped to the girl, passing by her, a gust of wind followed him as he skidded to a stop.
"Hey Pan. How's it going?" Joseph asked.

Pan, who had gotten pushed back a little from his entrance, said, "Oh hi Joseph!"
She had a feeling he would show up here and she was eager to show of her abilities now. She was still far behind where she wanted to be, but some weeks training with Roshi had really expanded her capabilities, even if it wasn't all that much. For one thing, her ki attacks didn't drain her nearly as much as they once did. She also had a bunch of new abilities to try out on him, however, since they were all basic, she was sure he probably had already seen them before.
She started stretching and said, "One go around for the week?"

Joseph didn't expect Pan to be eager to see him. They didn't know each other for that long but he didn't mind it at all. It was a while since meeting someone new needed up being friendly rather than hostile and out for his blood, as fun as it was to see action from the latter Joseph was happy to be met with someone who was a fighter like him. People like him and her weren't that common in Satan City.
He looked Pan up and down. The increase in her strength since their last meeting didn't go unnoticed. Joseph was sure she'd keep it up and hoped she'd push her limits even further and be at his level of strength. Fighting a good guy who could keep up would have been a welcome change of pace. As Pan stretched he stretched as well as she asked if he wanted another go around for the week.
"Sure," Joseph said simply. After doing a few more stretches he settled into a lowered stance and extended his arms out. Another thing he liked about meeting her was that she made for a fun sparring partner, having someone to spar with often didn't last for him.

Pan could feel an excitement in her blood, and had heard from both her parents it came from Saiyan blood. She could feel her power level starting to rise as she began to let her ki flow more freely in anticipation of the fight. She wondered if she would still feel this excitement if the fight was life and death, and honestly she hoped she wouldn't ever find out, but knew that one day she would probably have to cross that line.
She rushed towards Jo with all the speed she could muster, throwing four punches aiming two at his ribs and the other two at his face. Jumping up and trying to use her ability to fly, she flipped over him and tried to kick his back as she turned around. Landing behind him she jumped back as she unleashed a volley of ki energy at him.
The movement was taxing on her body, but not nearly as much as it had been the last time she had fought him. She was getting used to the movements of combat and how to manage her pacing during a fight. She wasn't worried about Jo, he was way tougher than those attacks. Pan hoped he would be able to see how much she had grown under master Roshi.

Joseph blocked quickly lowered his guard, blocking the punches at his ribs with his forearms but the seamless transition to striking at his head caught him off guard. He took the punches, stumbling back to ride the blow to reduce some of the impact. Pan quickly took to the air getting behind him before he could turn around and nailing him with a kick to the back. Joseph stumbled forward and caught himself and turned to Pan who followed with a volley of ki blasts.
The Half-Saiyan rapidly swiped his hand from side to side, deflecting each blast to another direction, leaving each bolt to fly off into the distance. Pan's improvement didn't go unnoticed by him. After knocking away the final blast, Joseph sped toward her in a dash and threw two quick jabs from his left, followed by a cross from his right. He then lunged forward and jumped in the air, launching his knee toward Pan's chin.
Once he landed Joseph, pulling from her play earlier jumped back and starting shooting his arms back and forth rapidly shooting bolts of ki to bombard the other half-Saiyan in front of him shooting a half dozen to keep her under pressure and stave off another possible aggressive assault. After shooting the final blast Joseph rushed to Pan again. He then channeled his ki into his fists, blue aura and sparks of electricity crackling from his hands as he threw a flurry of energy empowered punches at Pan, sending out jabs, hooks, and crosses at her body to drive her to back pedal. He closed the barrage with a heay uppercut to take her feet off the ground.
Afterward Joseph stepped back to try to get out Pan's reached to better prepare for any potential assaults she'd do in return.

Pan was elated that she managed to get a blow on him. She wasn't sure she had managed that the last time they fought. She watched as he deflected each of her ki blast and knew she would have to step her game up. She noticed her hand was slightly numb from where he had blocked her earlier punches. She wondered how much he had to hold back just to make this fight somewhat fair, but then tried to push the thought out of her mind. Even if he was, it was to her benefit - and not her disgrace. This was a form of training after all.
When he started to rush in Pan knew she wasn't going to be able to block all that he was about to throw at her, so she tried to focus on protecting her head. She managed to easily deflect the two quick attacks coming in, but the cross slapped her hard. She wondered if he lull her into a false sense of security just to pull that one off. He jumped up and all Pan knew was she didn't want to be anywhere near him since she couldn't predict what he was going to do.
She rolled out of the way just in time for what she could only imagine would have been a brutal knee to the chin. That right there is a bite your tongue kind of blow right there, she thought to herself. She managed to get back on her feet only to be meet with a torrent of energy blast. She breathed in deep and managed to scream a ear shattering scream that somehow dissipated the incoming energy attack. Then next she was assaulted with a barrage of blows that managed to put her on the ground.
She got up after a few seconds and breathing deep she fired off 3 suiken attacks at her foe!

Pan was at least able to keep up with the current pace. Joseph found it impressive even if he had to suppress his power. She was keeping up with his pace better than Yakumo the first time he fought him. Yakumo had grown to be a ways above pan in terms of power, but at this rate Joseph was sure that she'd be able to match his strength before long.
She had managed to take his attacks, Joseph saw her recoil from his knee. He was thinking of asking if she wanted to take a break, though she was fast to get back on her feet and started unloading three blasts at the half-Saiyan. The boy crossed his arms in front of his body and formed a barrier around himself. The first blast was disbursed against the boy's shield next to know impact, though the second cracked the barrier and made him flinch back and the final shattered it and made him stumble and fall on his back.
Joseph jumped back up to his feet, dusting himself off and giving Pan a thumbs up. "You've better Pan, have you been training?" Joseph asked. "Goku would have loved to fight you if he was around."

Pan watched as Joseph created a barrier around himself. She would have to ask Roshi how to learn that move, or maybe Kami would be better. At this point having trained under two powerful masters had elevated her power slightly. She wondered if she should track down more masters to diversify her style even more. Maybe.
Then Joseph mentioned her grandfather. She couldn't remember the last time she saw him, and she wondered if he would indeed like to fight him.
"Hey, you know my grandfather!?" Pan asked a bit skeptical. It honestly wouldn't surprise her given how strong Joseph is. She was pretty sure she remembered someone in the family saying something about grandpa loving to fight. Maybe that was where she got it from?
"I'm pretty spent. We did good, though I imagine I need to be able to go for a much longer time. I'll have to work on that. I'm training with Kami now, and I want him to show me that barrier trick you used. Maybe the next time we meet, I'll have some more tricks up my sleeve."
She breathed deeply and let her power lower down to a more normalized level for her. Her power level dropped about 10,000 to around 37,000. She was far stronger than most humans on earth, though she knew she was pitiful compared to the strongest fighters on earth, to say nothing of the galaxy. She wanted to be one of the great ones. Known throughout the galaxy as a defender of peace. She wanted villains to hear that she was coming and to surrender before she put a beat down on them the likes they would never forget.
What an idiot I am, she thought to herself. There has to be more to life than fighting, but at the moment, this was all she wanted to do. She wanted to be the best. The real quest for her was what was she willing to do to be the best? And what did her new role inside the Earths Defense Force help with that? It at least pays the bills for now!
