Character Bio: At first appearance, Astra can be mistaken as a frivolous fashionista who doesn’t belong in politics. She has long, red hair and matching eyes, with a slender physique at 5’4. Often dressed nicely, sometimes she’ll be seen in glasses, and other days she’ll opt for wearing contacts.
Despite being 21, and Earth’s youngest political ambassador, Astra’s socially awkward when introduced to new people. In professional settings, she’s able to usually control the jitters. In personal settings? It’s impossible, and she often slips into what Astra calls “the nerd momentum.”
Born in East City and raised in one of Earth’s capitals, she had been exposed to politics since childhood. It wasn’t just in the city but also in her home. Astra’s father was a college professor, and her mother was a journalist. Bookshelves and technology filled the Hart Residence. She was encouraged to study, and study she did.
As a teenager, too shy to make friends, Astra found herself interested in fashion. It started as a hobby and became an extension of her personality.
Overall, her life was often viewed as picture perfect. It would’ve remained that way, too, if it weren’t for the Steel Legion. On the first night of their tyranny, Astra’s father was killed on his commute home from work. At the same time, her mother was captured and taken away for enslavement while reporting on the massacre.
Astra found herself alone and survived by traveling to different shelters.
Once the Steel Legion was defeated, Astra went to the authorities and pleaded for their help. After all, her mother was still missing. Last seen on a nearby planet, enslaved by her abductors. A report was taken, but no action followed. As she persisted, Astra heard similar stories and witnessed other neglected families.
Why wasn’t anyone helping? Even if those enslaved were dead, people deserved to know the truth.
East City started the electoral season in an attempt to return to normalcy. Unfortunately, Astra noticed no one placed in their bid. It wasn’t surprising since capital politicians were targeted first. People had every right to be afraid… but someone needed to stand up. If she became a politician, she’d have the ability and resources to travel Earth and the galaxy. She could help others affected by the monstrosity of the previous years. Most importantly, she could try and find the missing slaves.
Astra started a campaign and ran unopposed. It was time for this next journey to begin.

“Ambassador Hart!”
Astra slamming unceremoniously to the ground, she winced. It wasn’t due to pain. Instead, it was due to her trainer. She could hear the concern in his voice. It made her worry he’d end the session early.
“I’m all right, I promise.” Shifting on the ground, Astra’s body ached, but her resolve had her stand tall and steady. “I was able to lift myself an inch higher! Did you see?” She asked, tone enthusiastic.
“Yes, I saw.”
Offering a cheeky smile, Astra wiped the dirt from her jogging pants. Her trainer, Bongo, had approached swiftly with concern. It was the same expression when she initially asked to learn how to fly. He didn’t want to teach her. In all honesty, no one in the city did. Why did their ambassador need to fly? The explanation was simple. No, she wasn’t interested in becoming a fighter. But the ability to fly? It had tactful uses. Plus, it could be utilized as a defense to escape hostile situations.
“I’m not too sure we should continue…”
Astra promptly whined. “Bongo!” Inhaling a breath and holding it, her cheeks became puffy, and her arms crossed. As Bongo began to panic, his explanation was blurted quickly and jumbled. She couldn’t understand anything he was saying. However, it made her feel guilty for acting so childishly.
Exhaling the breath, Astra pouted. “I signed up for this.”
“You signed up to assist the citizens of Earth–“
“Exactly!” A single foot stomped stubbornly. “The people of Earth… the people of East City, they need…” Voice trailing, Astra looked to the side. “They need someone afraid like they are… but someone who also stands for a principle.” Ruby-colored eyes looked to his now. Despite being flustered, her resolution shone. “I know I’m young and inexperienced. I understand the hesitation to place any trust in me.” Her fists clenched at both sides now. “Please, though, trust when I tell you I’m not that delicate. I will not break easy.”
Bongo watched as Astra remained unwavering in her resolve. Her words caused the retired martial artist to grin, exactly how a proud father would’ve. No, he wasn’t her father. He was just a constituent who felt relieve and hope for the first time in a while.
“Okay.” He relented with a soft sigh. “Let’s continue.”
Astra smiled widely, beaming with excitement. “Yes, lets!” Perhaps this time she’d be able to hover midair for more than 15 seconds.
