Another Son Son Gohan 324 | 324 Champ. II |
The familiar white dome seemed to sweat its paint under the warm summer sun. A humble stone building in the shape of an L was attached at the sides, connecting together almost cartoonishly. Gohan looked back and forth between the home - his home - and the library that unnaturally replaced half of the landscape as if it were the set of a movie. The grass halted at an imaginary border, transformed into soft wood floors. The blue Earth sky became an incandescent yellow which showered rows upon rows of books with kind familiarity. It was the kind of scene that could only be seen in the Astral Realm, and it left Gohan puzzled.
He had often dreamed up his home, when he came to the Astral Realm. Just as often, he was in a laboratory, essentially lucid dreaming before one of the present timeline's warriors came in to shatter his experiments. Seeing a grand library was new.
Seeing it superimposed over his home, a place he would give nearly anything to return to? That was nonsense. It wasn't necessarily true that the Realm generated the place that its inhabitant wanted to be the most. In fact, exerting a bit of control over the locale was common, but when the Realm seemed to take over and construct something subconsciously it tended to all be in one theme. As Gohan straddled the border between his old home and the unfamiliar library, he wondered what that theme might be.
Well, I've got some time to kill. I may as well see what's here, he thought, beginning to turn toward the wooden stacks and grabbing a leather binding with "The LOST" stenciled into the siding. Stepping back out into the summer air, Gohan lay down and held the heavy book up to block the harsh sunlight. Who knew how long it would be until his fated meeting arrived? The boy saw no reason to be uncomfortable while he waited.
