Bersimmon (L) vs Riki (W) [Ref: Hal]

When people thought about Kelioux they tended to think about the academy. Scholars, books, libraries, and other intellectual stereotypes came to mind, but the reality was that Keliouxans were very martial arts focused. The largest study on Kelioux after all things The Lost, was Ki Theory, and there wasn’t a single Grand Master without the skills to completely destroy someone in combat.

Even knowing this however, you still had a sense of high class, that a city built around fighting competitions and arenas was below their standard of prestige, but that was what Crater City was.

Born when a normal Keliouxan city was victim to a high stake super powered fight, the city was rebuilt inside the crater left by a finisher level attack. While most of the homes and businesses were rebuilt, a large amount of property was bought out by a mysterious benefactor. These properties were all used to make fighting arenas.

Some housed arenas as big as football fields, while others were the home of many boxing rings. The most important part to all these rings however was the technology used around them. Crater City had developed technology specifically for its new purpose: energy dampening abilities. All of the fighting areas in Crater City were encased in barriers that could absorb massive amounts of kinetic force, explosive ki, and anything else you wanted to throw at it. The barriers had been tested against attacks with power levels up to fifty million.

With these barriers guaranteeing viewer safety, Crater City became a fighting sensation, and the place to go on Kelioux if you wanted to stretch your legs and go all out against someone.

Riki came here in hopes of doing that, but she was, of course, disappointed. While it was true these arenas could go up against her most powerful attacks, that did not mean Crater City had fighters at her level at all times. There were some arrangements she could get into if she proved herself and spent a great deal of time there, which she considered, but if she wanted to fight someone today, she could not fight at her level.

Which, Crater City had an answer to as well. If they could negate energy attacks, they also had great technology in power level suppression for those who wanted to challenge their level of technique over power, a very popular thing among Keliouxans.

Riki wasn’t sure she had a great deal of technique. She was used to pushing through situations with her raw power, but maybe she could learn something this way, so she signed up and was quickly matched against a Saiyan Paladin.

As an Earthling, Riki’s opinion of the Paladins weren’t great, but she knew individually they should be quite powerful. They were vigorously trained after all, and often the pinnacles of discipline. She could definitely learn something from a Paladin, if they were actually as elite as what she heard.

The arena for this battle was not exceptionally large, maybe fifty yards squared, and it was designed to have a rocky terrain. Rocky terrains were very popular because they provided a good amount of cover, and could be used defensively, but were not super powerful defenses. The effect of seeing rocks blown to bits was also an appeal.

Riki walked out to meet her opponent, and she did not seem prepared for a true battle, but then, Persimmon had probably long learned that appearances could be deceiving. The Damaskian armor she wore was an invisible skin tight film that he would have a great deal of trouble breaking through, and her belt had a number of pouches that could house a variety of tools and weapons. She might have looked like a simple young woman, but suppressed her power made waves as his did, fairly even.

Her demeanor also wasn’t very warrior primed though, as she stepped out and immediately looked out over the crowded stadium in awe at all the people, and had to shake her head to get herself back in gear. When she did, her energy seemed to change, to become slightly more chaotic, and she took an aggressive fighting stance.

The gong rang, releasing an invisible wall between them, and Riki didn’t hesitate, crossing the arena in what seemed like a blink, her arm pulled back in a wide and powerful hook she tried to slam into his head before pressing in and delivering two swift jabs towards his body.

Despite the first large swing, it seemed the girl was an infighter, as she pressed into his space into a range she could comfortably dig in punches, focusing on speed and number, peppering into his body one after another. She moved wherever he did, taking each step in to put more strength and speed into her quick punches, attempting to break into any guard to the man’s body with terrible numbers.
