Cooler was on the verge of a new life he just didn't know it. It was abandoned by his parents and left dead, and he had no idea why. His was a superior race, power flew through them, and many of his kind set their sight on ruling the Galaxy. But for whatever reason his parents didn't care about him he was abandoned. Had no doubt one day he would meet his real parents they were still alive because of how unique and rare his race was. Not to mention that most members of his race ended up working for the planet trade organization, or PTO just because their power allowed them to reach the upper echelons of the organization.
Had no real interest in it of course, but when you're hungry what are you supposed to do? So for the last 7 years he found himself working for the PTO and climbing the corporate ladder as it were. He had a trusted sidekick, Calanor, who is his goat between the organization lower peons and himself. They had a boss to the answer to but he didn't know his name or what he looked like he was just called shadow.
Cooler wanted out, this is violence for the sake of violence never suited him, but there was no way out. And the more intertwine his life became with the PTO the less likely he would ever escape this life of crime and destruction.
Little did he know he would soon get his chance…

Korra sat before Guru, once her teacher, but now a close confidant. He had asked her to come to visit him as soon as she could. She was able to do so instantly, because of her ability to teleport instantly across the universe. It was a great ability she possessed, and she was looking forward to seeing what Guru wanted her to see. She needed something to take her mind off the fact that she would soon be heading into the next dimension and training under the grand kai, or at least she hoped.
When she arrived on Namek she realized her technique to teleport was not as good as she wanted it to be. She was on Namek, but she couldn’t see Guru’s island mountain anywhere. She would have to pick a direction and fly until she saw a village, and then she could get proper directions. The moment she came to the planet, another thing happened deep within her which she could not explain. A great shift felt like it was about to happen, but she could not be sure what that meant. She wasn’t even sure it wasn’t unrelated to her next dimension trip, but this felt powerful and faint, as if a great power was touching her from a great distance away. She just couldn’t understand it.
It didn’t take her longer than an hour to find the nearby village. Considering how large the planet was, that was actually pretty good timing. She landed in the center of the village, which immediately drew the local Namekian’s attention.
“Hello everyone,” she said with a bow. “I’m Korra, a human friend of Lord Guru. I just arrived on your beautiful planet less than an hour ago, but I’m afraid I’m not exactly sure where Guru’s place is from here. Could you point me in the right direction?”
One of the elder Namekians said, “Normally we don’t just tell offworlders where our leader is. However, I can only sense overwhelming goodness flowing from you. Your heart is pure, and Lord Guru would be good friends with one such as you.”
He turned left and pointed in a direction. “You will find him in that location. You are actually not very far.”
She smiled and bowed, “Thank you!”
She waved goodbye to them and headed off towards the direction she was pointed in. With her course set, she was free to travel at her top speed, since she didn’t have to keep an eye out for a village. It was next to impossible to miss Guru’s mountain island, so she held nothing back as she let her ki flow through her to fly as fast as she could. She figured she was traveling at about 80 miles a minute!
So of course in now time she was able to make it to Guru.
________
When she landed, she was met by the opening of a door and Guru’s guardian stepping out. He recognized her instantly and gave a curtful nod in her direction.
“Lord Guru has been expecting you,” he said with a smile.
“What’s up Nail,” She said with a wave. “It’s good to see you again.”
He stepped aside to allow her to go in, and then followed behind her as they rode up to meet Guru.
“So any idea what’s going on?” She asked probing for information.
“Yes. But Guru is gonna have to be the one to explain everything to you.”
“Ah, you are no fun today!” she giggled.
“I’m never fun,” he said with a hint of a smile.
The elevator finished bringing her to Guru, who of course was sitting in his massive chair. He was the largest of all the Namekians by a long shot.
He spoke first.
“Greetings Korra.”
Korra bowed and said, “Master Guru. It is always a pleasure.”
“Korra, I asked you to come here because I have a gift for you that I have been working on for quite some time.”
“Really!? A gift for me!?” she smiled with delight. She had never expected a gift from Guru. Her mind tried to figure what it would be and she thought that maybe it was a very specific uniform for her, or maybe something very honorific to his people that he was bestowing upon her. She was pretty used to that as the Avatar.
Guru looked passed her at Nail and said, “Get them.”
Nail bowed and moved out of the room. He returned a moment later, holding a giant orange ball with a 1 star in the center. Korra recognized it at once. The legendary Dragon Balls were able to grant wishes to whoever collected all seven of them. As far as she had heard, there were very few limits to the wish that could be granted. What is Guru up to, she wondered to herself.
She was about to ask, but Guru beat her to the point.
“Korra, I am sure you know about the Dragon Balls. I have had all seven collected. Nail will take you outside and allow you to summon Porunga.”
Korra was speechless for a number of different reasons. The first was that she couldn’t understand why she was given such a gift. This was the gift of gifts; she could think of no greater possession in the entire universe. The second thing was she didn’t know what she would wish for. She could send her and Asami home, but she couldn’t imagine Guru had called her here to do zzzc that. She wasn’t sure if it was an offense to ask, but she had to.
“Lord Guru, I don’t know what to say. Can I ask why you would go through so much trouble to bestow upon me such a gift?”
Guru looked amused, which was better than being offended. At least Korra hoped.
“Korra, I put a lot of thought into the story you told me of your adventures back on your home planet in your universe. The struggles you and your friends overcame have touched me dearly. I know you desire to go back to your home, and that despite that you have decided to remain here, in our universe in order to try and help bring people together for a more balanced universe. It is a noble sacrifice you and Asami are making. I want to help you in your endeavors. So I trained you, and you have grown under my tutelage and others. I can sense that you are far stronger than when you left, but you have further to go. So I thought more about how to help you, and it dawned on me that I could offer you something that was once lost to you. Something that was good for you to do without for a time, since you have had to grow on your own, but that you could greatly benefit if it were restored to you.”
Korra was trying to think about what he was referring to but she couldn’t think of anything. What did Guru think she was missing and needed restoring, especially through the use of the Dragon Balls? Just as she started to understand, Guru spoke her thoughts into existence.
“Five years ago, your connection to your past Avatars was severed. You have carried on, essentially as a new first Avatar. I have collected the Dragon Balls for you to have the dragon restore your past lives to you.”
Korra felt a tingle all the way down her spine. She remembered the year following her fight with Vaatu. She felt so alone, having lost connection to her past lives. Especially since she had just really started to figure that part of herself out. She had accepted the fact that she would be a new first Avatar, and she wasn’t sure what it would mean to be reconnected.
“Lord Guru,” She began but her words were caught in her throat. “I don’t have any words that can possibly explain what is going on inside of me right now. I’m scared. I’m honestly not sure what it would mean to be reconnected, but I also feel like I should be a complete Avatar. If I can restore who I was, I will. This is a gift I can never repay.” Speeched failed her then. She knew she wouldn’t be able to say anything else.
“There is nothing to repay,” the old Namekian said with a smile. “Follow Nail outside and let him restore you.”
She bowed, and with all sorts of emotions welling up inside of her, followed her friend outside. Nail understood her current state, and said nothing. When they were outside he pointed towards an island just off of the mountain, where the Dragon Balls were waiting for them.
