Hi,
The current Master Uniforms take 15 weeks of consecutive training to obtain. I believe 3 1/2 months of one planet is too much of an ask. Keeping in mind that we want people to stay on planets for an extended period of time (sometimes) I think cutting the time to achieve a master uniform down to 7 or 8 weeks is a much better compromise.

Hey!
So I remember way back that someone said "15 weeks for a decision of a lifetime is bad", like. You can't reset your Gi once you've attributed some master into it This is indeed rather inconvenient, and while it does justify the 15 weeks deal. It is also contradictory to the canon series, as Goku's Gi changed numerous times throughout the show (and Gohan's if you count Goku's outfit).
The idea of the Gi being sellable or, introducing an item like "letter of termination" or whatever to reset your Gi back go 0, would be good.
I think though, on a more meta note -- Stronger individuals would probably require less time to master their master's techniques and style, since they're already more experienced (granted they've been training with a master before). It would probably make sense for a master to gift their students with a 'graduation' once they reach a certain level of training, but if the student is already powerful, it shouldn't take that long.
Maybe if it was like this: - Starters, real newbies, will require a hard 15 weeks. - Once they have trained with a master for X weeks, ICly meaning "got some experience with martial arts", their number drops to say, 10, should they choose to switch a master. - Again, X weeks training with a specific master, and the number then drops to 7 or 8 weeks. It will not drop any more than this number.
- Starting individuals with over a certain Powerlevel threshold (like, say, Watarian Implants souls) start off 10 weeks anyway, since they're already skilled from the get-go and 'learn things' faster. - This also drops to 7 or 8 weeks, after X weeks training with a specific master. It will not drop any more than this number.
- The Gi can ultimately be either reset using a build slot for 1 week OFF the counter, if you happen to realize you want another master's Gi. - Or you can just buy a new Karate Gi and start off 0/X, for whatever counter your current Master is at.
TLDR: - Newbies - 15 weeks - Newbies post X weeks and a different master - 10 weeks - Newbies post X weeks with ANOTHER, different master - 8 weeks
- Veterans - 10 weeks - Veterans post X weeks and a different master - 8 weeks
- Gi can be reset using a build slot - Resetting needs to happen when you're not master training
This is how I've envisioned it anyway
