Having joined up a group of warriors on a certain Bra's recommendation, truth be told Upa still wasn't too sure what things were truly about. He was happy meeting some people whom he could call his allies, but allies in what exactly? His limited worldview was, while aware of outer space to some degree, still very much confined to the Earth at best. He knew most of the powerful warriors he's met to this day to be Saiyans, and learned to decipher their Ki signature from mere experience. But what would these guys truly hope to achieve, banding together?
Nevertheless, he joined because a friend invited him, and he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.
And yet... "You're the Chief in this alliance, right?" The boy turned to one such scrawny-looking chief, taking note of her exponentially stronger power; dwarfing pretty much anything he's picked up so far. Her power alone was enough to dwarf even the mightiest of Beings he's come across - and for the second time in his life, he's been face to face with one he deemed to be A Power That Be. Possibly strong enough to rival a God -- a powerlevel so high that it was almost tangible in the air, just being around her.
He had to remain calm, despite the clear perceived threat. While he may have joined the alliance, the fellow dark-skinned hadn't seen himself as a true member yet; reason why, he turned to the Boss. "I'm Upa. This led to that, and I'll be in your care from now on..." He said, trailing off somewhat while still, trying to keep relative cool.
Does he instigate an actual spar here? Or does he wait? Fending off a power that much greater than his own never seemed to work in his favor before, despite surprisingly himself on occasion. But with a properly designated ally...?

"You want me to lead to a team?" Kale asked. Rose was across the table from her typing on a computer with one hand and writing with another while she spoke to Kale. "Yes well you'd be one in more a defacto sense. You wouldn't believe what's been going on in this Universe Kale, the Fallen War, Damaskian Commanders destroying planets on a whim are just a few things on the list. We can't just count on someone who is capable of facing these threats to just happen to come around-even if that happens a little more than you'd expect. Anyway, we need a unified force of strong fighters that can engage individuals and small groups that are acting as a threat."
"I mean it makes sense, but each major power has their own armies. Their military, the organizations. Certainly any people in need can get recourse from those groups."
"Yes they can and they're often effective but they focus more on things that effect their position in the Galaxy on a greater scale as opposed to someone coming to destroy or conquer a planet. Besides events involving major powers coming together to combat something that threatens the wellbeing of the Galaxy as a whole. They're not swooping in to stop an individual or small group from invading a planet."
" I haven't even ran my my own vanguard even on Sadala, my sister and Cabba were the leaders. Isn't there anyone else that can lead and I can just be part of the time."
"No one that has more experience than you. You have military experience and you're the strongest out of those we could find."
"Alright. I'll do it. Worse case scenario You or me could turn the position over to someone else."
"Great. There is someone I'd like to meet. He's the newest member of this group. He's on his way."
Later that afternoon.
Kale waited in one of the training area, kicking her legs and checking nails while she waited for the newest member to arrive. She heard someone enter and looked in his direction. He looked like the picture Rose showed her and what he said further hammered in who he was though the way he asked somewhat confused her. "Y-Yes, well. I think the term she used was Captain." The human went on to say that'd he'd be in her care for now on. She didn't care for that wording, she was already diffident enough about the idea of being responsible for a team, that wording just further drilled that thought in. "Umm, well. I'll do my best to make sure you're taken care of." Kale said she got off the bench and gave a small bow. "So. Where are you from?"

So they use 'Captain' around here... Not unlike at the security office, huh. "Y-Yes," He awkwardly assured at the woman's confirmation; instigating what must have been an odd moment for the both of them. He'd be in her care, for now, somehow.
"I'm from--" -- A short pause before he finished, intrusive thought getting in. "-- Earth." This one was a Saiyan, wasn't she? He got a little better at noticing the minute difference in Ki signatures, and already attributed the Warrior race to be a clan different from those who lived alongside him on his home planet. That said, the very prospect of outer space was still foreign to the boy, and his instinctive answer attributed to his origin specifically, and not in galactic terms. He could only assume other aliens would inquire about residence in that scope, unintuitive as it was to him.
That said, he'd never before met another 'human' from outer space. Everything from the outside just seemed so far out of his understanding, as things were. Upa wouldn't know at the time, how oblivious he was to state his home planet, while obviously hailing from it. "I live in West City right now, but. My family lives in the western forest." Again, secretive. He wouldn't name his home village, only alluding his general appearance in his skin tone and out-of-place choice of fashion, to the tribes around Korin Tower. It was a principle of his home not to overshare information; fact that he was outside as it is, was already exposing the villages to potentially unwanted visitors. Of course, the boy could warn others of not overstepping their boundaries, if it ever comes to that. If anything, his 'hint' would explain his choice of terminology.
The issue at hand was clear; a distrustful attitude, rooted both in a first-time meeting mixed with old cautious habits, as well as the leader's overwhelming power. His expression reflected the discomfort he felt, the Chief's general hint of sheepishness and his own uncertainty playing part. Yet, he'll see this to the end. He was, after all, enlisting officially.
Surely there was much to learn from an inter-galactic alliance Chief, right?

"I figured you were," Kale said about him saying that he was from Earth. He looked like a human, felt like one, felt like one but how readily available travel not only to different planets many outside this star system made for him not being from Earth to be something that wasn't that unlikely. "Oh you live in West City, so do I. I've been living with the Brief's family. Kale was surprised to hear that he had family living in the forest, mainly because she wasn't native to the planet so his heritage didn't do much in alluding to that.
The girl simply smiled and nodded at the comment. She did have some curiosity about his family but she didn't bring herself to ask about them. Doing this meeting already took some persuasion she wasn't going to float an idea that would lead to her having to meet and talk to more people. Kale thought to herself about how she'd proceed with this meeting she had just went in with the vague idea of getting acquainted with this man and was just happy he was genial. She figured she'd just ask some basic questions just to get things moving on from what would be an awkward silence if she spent too much time thinking.
"So what made you want to join this group?"

It made sense for someone that strong to guess his home planet, though Upa questioned initially whether or not his answer was even viable. Imagine then, his further surprise hearing that the very leader of this intergalactic alliance, just so happened to have a home in the same city he did. He blinked twice in visible surprise --
"The Briefs family?" Upa asked; somewhat recalling.
In a way, something clicked. He wasn't too sure if there was direct correlation between the two, but at the very least, it was a hypothesis worth keeping in mind. That is, that his friend Bra knew Kale from the same residency. Though then it would be hard-pressed to reason why he'd never felt the woman's presence before, let alone heard about her as a designated roommate.
The next segment was, tough to answer. The tribesman's eyebrows furrowed slightly as his face somewhat dropped; looking down, past the shorter leader. "Well... That's," Truth be told, he didn't even have a proper answer. He knew a friend that happened to be part of the alliance, that's about as far as it went. But he was all too aware that such reasoning was awfully flimsy.
In retrospect, he may have given it a bit too much thought, the pause before he continued pointing to his inner conflict. In the end, he admitted it flat out. "Bra is a friend of mine," He suggested. "I don't really understand what this alliance is, but I am willing to be where my friend is." That's it.
A primitive Earthling, barely aware that space was even a thing. That's about all he could offer.

"You know Bra?" Kale asked surprised. She had assumed that this was just someone Rose had found while searching for sizable power levels in the area. "Yeah she's probably in this group since she's Bulma's daughter and pretty strong herself." The familiarity from him knowing someone she knew at least made her feel better about having to watch over this team. She had earned Bra's trust and it seemed that Upa didn't feel the need to have her prove anything. The next thing he said Kale was able to relate to all too well.
"I'll be honest I don't think i understand it much better than you but from what Bulma's assistant told me we're here to help people so that's reason for me to support this. It seems like what I was doing before I came to this Universe." Kale paused for a moment realizing how abruptly she dropped that news on someone who probably knew little beyond Earth.
"I'm a Saiyan from a different universe. I don't know how I got here that's what I'm hoping Bulma will figure out. Honestly I'm just doing what I can to help while I'm here. Bulma and her family have been kind to me and I don't want to let them down."

-- "Probably in this group, rather," He momentarily paused, somewhat awkwardly; "she's mostly why I'm even here..." It was natural to want to be around those familiar to you, or at least bringing some comfort. In Upa's personal struggle, that may have been a potential downfall; for he needed to explore the world outside his village as much as possible. This, joining the alliance, was another way to interpret the task.
It was reassuring to know the leader was fond of his friend as well. -- A little less reassuring, knowing she was in the same position he was, regarding all information. "Huh?" Leading the charge, yet being uncertain about the faction? That's new. "Chief, if you're not too sure what it is, but you're the one leading. What do you want it to be?" He asked, an eyebrow raised. For the boy, the Chief of any Tribe (in this case, the alliance was the tribe in question) was the absolute ruler of it, deciding what went, what its character was like, and how secure their people were. It appears, that he may have come to assume something about the handling of this alliance.
An idea came to mind. Something that may or may not spell his end in the alliance - a small sacrifice to make, should he attempt it. Though, having yet registered himself internally as part of their ranks, the tribesman would best save his antics where they're more due.
Perplexion; only recently had the boy registered that there were worlds outside of his home planet, a concept by itself that he had a difficult time fully grasping. This one Saiyan wasn't just an alien to his planet, but to his very universe. "--You're... From a different universe?" He questioned, completely confused. It might be at either Rose's or Bra's fault for recruiting a boy so oblivious to outside laws that the mere concept strained on his mind. "Bulma from Capsule Corporation, right? --I see..."
The dominating family hosting a foreigner, this far out of their universe. "What do you-- No, how-- ..." ...There were lots of questions swirling in his head there. For starters, the boy breathed in, then out. Calming himself down. He was, for all matters and purposes, in the presence of his current Chief, confused as she herself was. He at least needed to maintain some degree of tranquility. "...Kale, if you're from another universe. Do you plan to get back?"

"Same for me in all honesty." Kale said in response to Upa saying Bra was the main reason he was part of the group. Her coming to rescue Bra was the main reason she was probably the main reason Rose wanted her to become the leader. Then Upa asked her another question, if she wasn't sure what this team was what did she want it to be. That was a question Kale wasn't expecting she was mainly thinking about what Rose wanted out this group.
"What do I want it to be?" Kale looked down and placed her hand under her chin while she mused on the man's question. "I guess I just want it to be a good team. One where we can help each other and anyone else who needs help. I've had never spent time leading, either I was handling things on my own or following my sister's lead." She folded her arms. "We'll figure it out as we go. That's what my sister usually says when she didn't have a plan.
When Upa asked if she was from a different Universe Kale simply nodded before answering. "Yes Bulma from Capsule Corp. That's Bra's mother."
Then Upa had another question, if she was from another Universe then did she plan to go back. "Yes. That's what I've been trying to figure out since I found out I was no longer in my own world. The Earth from my universe was destroyed a long time ago. I hope that doesn't happen to this one. I've heard about a lot of things Earth has gone through. I'm surprised it hasn't happened, hopefully it won't."
Kale pushed passed that disturbing thought and looked at Upa. "Well anyway, that's what we'll try our best to protect Earth, that's why this group is being made anyway. I'm glad Bra has a friend like you."
