“Lord Frieza, it’s time for the next step in your training,” the Angel calmly said as she approached the Galactic Emperor.
Frieza turned towards his attendant and smirked. “Does that mean you’ve finally found me an opponent to battle?” His knuckles cracked as he squeezed his fist tightly, imagining squeezing the life out of some poor victim. “Are you sure they’re going to be up to the task of going toe to toe with someone like me?”
“I’m afraid not this time,” Cassis said, the orb in her staff beginning to give off a soft glow. “For this training exercise, you will be venturing into the astral realm. A dimension in which warriors and fighters alike can test themselves against others across the Universe. Whilst in this reality, you will feel everything as if it’s real, however, no true harm will come to your physical body, hence making it an excellent form of training for many,”
“You mean I can’t maim my opponents?” Frieza asked, rolling his eyes. “How very disappointing,”
“It’s for your benefit as much as it is theirs, my Lord. You are well aware of the power that people possess in this Universe. You must not take that lightly,” Cassis continued, as her orb continued to radiate light, growing brighter by the second.
“Yes, yes, I know. You don’t need to be a constant reminder of that,” the Changeling Prince spat, ever frustrated by the fact he was no longer the biggest fish in the ocean. “Let’s just get on with it,”
Cassis pointed her staff towards Frieza, as the light directed itself over the former Emperor. Frieza attempted to use his hand to shield himself from its blinding rays, until they had suddenly disappeared.
The Changeling dropped his hand, his brow furrowed as he gazed at his surroundings. The frozen wasteland had completely vanished, replaced by a lush green field of semi-tall grass that came up to his knees. A flowery scent wafted through the air. The picturesque scene was complete with trees and mountains off in the distance.
“This is the astral realm?” Frieza scoffed, wondering why anyone would use a place like this to host any form of combat.
But before the Galactic Emperor could continue to pick apart how ridiculous the location was, his attention was disrupted by the lone silhouette standing across from him in the distance. It didn’t appear as though his stature was much greater than Frieza’s, but there were telltale signs alluding to the figure’s origin that made Frieza’s blood boil.

The Forgotten Saiyan 414/414 Months have passed since the lost prince last set foot on a battlefield. His defeat at the hands of Trunks and Goten weighed heavily on him, and the spar with Dr. Ghast was the final blow. Lately, every battle Tarble entered ended with him bloodied and broken on the ground. The lost prince had been spending his days lounging on Master Roshi’s couch, watching the latest fighters come and go on while spending his time watching television while sitting on the couch. Despite his best efforts, Master Roshi tried every tactic in the book to coax Tarble back into training, but after months of fruitless attempts, he finally threw in the towel. On this particular day, Tarble strolled along the beach, letting the waves lap gently at his ankles. “I know the pride within me is telling me to get back to training, but I just do not understand why I am always on the losing end. I know I was born the weakest Saiyan… there must be a way for me to break this losing streak… WHAT IS IT”As the lost prince stopped walking, he glanced down and spotted the gem he had thrown out the window upon returning to Master Roshi's hut. Leaning down, he picked it up, a smirk spreading across his face as memories of his battles in the dimensional realm flooded back. “There were some good times that I had within that realm. I remember meeting many friends as well as many enemies”The lost prince began to wipe the sand from the gem, eager to clean it up before bringing it back inside as a keepsake. As the last grains fell away, he suddenly vanished from the beach, reappearing in the dimensional realm. Moments later, he landed with a thud. Rolling over and crossing his legs, Tarble glanced around, realizing he was back in a place he had desperately hoped to escape. “This place again… I am not in the mood to run into Dr. Ghast. Maybe I can convince him to hit me hard enough to knock me out of here with one punch”The lost prince scanned his surroundings, realizing he was in a lush, green field, far removed from the beach. As he placed his right hand on the ground to push himself up, he felt a presence behind him. Turning around, he locked eyes with the figure standing before him. “Who the heck is this… I have never met anyone from this race” Actions1. Introduction 2. Introduction

A distant wind blew across the field, causing the long grass to sway. The Galactic Emperor couldn’t believe how real everything felt. He’d been privy to all sorts of impressive technology, most of which had been stolen from other races, and then enhanced by their own forces, but none quite as spectacular as this. Although, as spectacular as it was, his focus was now more preoccupied with the person standing across from him.
Frieza stared daggers through the short, dark haired man, standing opposite him a couple dozen feet away. It was clear what he was. The trademark spiky, black hair usually gave it away, but the brown, furry tail was yet more concrete evidence. A Saiyan. Although there was something else about him, a familiarity that Frieza wasn’t able to place his finger on.
“Well, well, well,” the Changeling began, the tone of his voice dripping with condescension. “Who’d have thought that I would have found one of your kind here,” he continued, folding his arms. “I didn’t think monkeys were past using sticks and rocks as tools, and yet somehow you’ve found yourself in a completely different realm. Perhaps you're lost,” Frieza surmised, mocking the Saiyan. “Or maybe whichever master you serve has let you out of your cage for a brief time to play a little,” the Changeling laughed as he continued to tease the monkey.
The small, horned Changeling continued to stare. His piercing red eyes locked onto the Saiyan’s, eagerly awaiting his response, expecting the usual angry outburst that was so common in their pathetic race.

The Forgotten Saiyan 466/880 A faint breeze stirred across the battlefield as Tarble sensed an unsettling presence emanating from the figure before him. The alien’s voice dripping with overconfidence, was harsh and rasping, as he spat insults; mocking Tarble with slurs like "monkey" and belittling him. “Why is he calling me a monkey”
In that moment, Tarble's mind drifted back to his past. He could almost hear the echo of his father’s voice, sharp with anger, as he sat at the dinner table with his family. His father had been ranting to Vegeta, furious over the constant taunts from the changelings, who always referred to the Saiyan’s as “monkeys.” Among them, there was one changeling in particular who seemed to harbor a special hatred for the Saiyan’s; a hatred that ran deeper than the usual contempt. The small changeling crossed his arms as he didn’t stop with the insulants. “A master I server… what is this changeling talking about. I server only myself”
A smirk tugged at the corners of the lost prince’s mouth, and a low chuckle escaped him. His shoulders gave a slight bounce, as if the tension in the air had momentarily lightened. It was a rare sight; finally, someone on the battlefield who was close to his size. The thought amused him, though he knew better than to underestimate the danger this alien posed. Still, there was something almost... satisfying about facing an opponent who wasn’t larger than the lost prince. “I need to pay attention to those horns on the top of his head. They look vicious and could pierce my armor quickly. Luckily, we both have the same arm reach, so I don’t have to fight my way through his attacks to get close to him” “I’ve heard a lot about your race over the years,” Tarble began, his voice steady but edged with a quiet bitterness. “How you look down on Saiyan’s. But let me tell you something; I wasn’t raised as a Saiyan for very long. In fact, I was born the weakest of them all.” He paused, his gaze narrowing as he gathered his thoughts. Clearing his throat, the lost prince continued, his tone shifting, more resolute now. “I’m not in the mood to fight. It’s been a long time since I’ve touched a battlefield, and frankly, I’d rather not start now. I’d much rather return to where I was, before this madness began." He uncrossed his arms, only to fold them again, mirroring the changeling's posture with a deliberate calm. “So, I’ll make it simple for you. It would be in your best interest to let me leave here in peace. I’m not like the other Saiyan’s you’ve encountered. I’m not looking for a fight.”The air between them thickened, but Tarble stood firm, a quiet confidence in his words. “I do hope this changeling decides to not battle. I am pretty rusty since it has been months since I done any sort of training” Actions1. Introduction 2. Introduction

Frieza could barely contain a cackle as he listened to the Saiyan make excuses as to why he didn’t want to fight. Clearly, whoever he was, he’d had a history with Changelings, or at the very least had been warned about them. It was nice to know that even in this Universe, his race was revered as being fearsome.
“Ho, ho, ho! So you’re telling me that you’re a monkey who doesn’t like to fight?” The Changeling continued to mock, outwardly laughing at the Saiyan across from him. “Well, well, you are a rare breed. Perhaps being as weak as you claim to be, you’ve finally learned the same lesson that all monkeys should have learned - that you are inferior to the likes of me,” Frieza couldn’t help but continue to tease, with his usual innate penchant for wanting to humiliate any potential foe.
The Galactic Emperor continued to stare at the man across from him. That ever present familiarity just wouldn’t go away. What was it that he was missing? All Saiyans had somewhat similar hair, always bold, black and spiky, but there was something in his facial features…
“My best interest huh? You have the audacity to tell me what would be in my best interest?” Frieza’s tone shifted from a more playful, mocking tone, to something somewhat more authoritative. “There is not a monkey alive today that is capable of telling me what to do. So instead, let me tell you exactly what’s going to happen…” Silence fell across the would-be battlefield, save for the gentle flow of the breeze, as Frieza paused for emphasis. “If you don’t want to fight, then I’m not going to force you. In fact, not fighting me might make you the smartest monkey of them all. But instead, you are going to kneel before me. I want you to pledge your allegiance to me. In fact, I will even give you bonus points if you decide to beg me for your life,” Frieza ordered, as a wry smirk crossed his black lips.

The Forgotten Saiyan 605/1,485 Tarble stood unmoving, letting the changeling’s insults rain down on him like sharp stones. The creature’s arrogance was almost laughable and Tarble couldn’t help but smirk. It was clear that the changeling had no idea who it was dealing with; this kind of arrogance was nothing new to the lost prince. In fact, it only fueled his growing sense of fight. “I find it interesting how someone could be so cocky but has never seen me fight. I do not think this changeling knows what he is getting himself into. I am trying to be nice and just walk away from this situation and go back to watching my shows, but if he wants to feel the rath of a monkey”Before Tarble could respond, the changeling cut him off, its voice dripping with arrogance. "I won't force you to fight," it spoke. "You can kneel before me, beg for your life, and perhaps even join me." The words hung in the air, and for a moment, time seemed to slow. Tarble froze, the gravity of the insult washing over him. This was the first time in his life someone had dared to demand he kneel. For years, he had watched his people, his race, bowing to others; pledging their loyalty to forces far stronger than them. It stung with the bitter reminder of a time when the Saiyan’s weren’t masters of their own fate, when they were ruled by others, forced into submission, their pride stripped away. And now, here was this changeling, expecting him to do the same. Tarble’s fists clenched, but there was no anger in his chest, only something deeper; a cold, burning resolve. The lost prince knew the weight of what he had to do. He wouldn’t bow to anyone. Not now, not ever. “Interesting that this changeling would want me to kneel and pledge my allegiance to him. Not even Dr. Ghast was this arrogant. I know it has been some time since I have been in a battle, but I have an idea how this scenario is going to turn out”Tarble let out a low chuckle, his head tilting back in disbelief. "You're quite the character," he said with a smirk, his voice laced with amusement. He paused for a moment, letting the words hang in the air, before bringing his gaze back down. His eyes locked onto the changeling’s, unwavering. "I will never kneel before anyone," he said firmly, the defiance in his voice sharp and clear. His smirk deepened as his eyes narrowed, cold determination flickering behind them. The lost prince stood tall, unyielding, as if daring the changeling to challenge him further. There would be no submission. Not today, not ever. “It’s time for me to get focused just in case he makes a move. I need to be on guard, I have heard this race is pretty powerful and can have many different forms”"You talk nonsense, calling my people 'monkeys' and claiming we're nothing more than aggressive pawns," Tarble said, his voice laced with a mix of frustration and quiet pride. "But I can tell you this; times have changed."
His eyes narrowed, confidence emanating from every word as he stepped forward. "The Saiyan race has evolved. We’ve transcended the barbarism you’re so eager to mock. Today, we are the most powerful race in the universe."Tarble’s gaze softened slightly, almost contemplative. "I’ve missed the thrill of battle," he continued, his tone shifting as a spark of excitement flickered in his eyes. "And now, encountering you... it's reignited the fire I’ve been missing. So, in a way, I have to thank you." Actions1. Introduction 2. Introduction

Frieza continued staring at the Saiyan, he could see the cogs turning in his head, but he could also see that same stubborn spirit that he had come to despise in those insolent monkeys. He had yet to meet one that didn’t possess that look in their eyes. The same look that you would find in a dangerous pet, one which you’d need to put down, for fear of it biting you the second you turned your back. Of course, in his own reality, Frieza had done just this. The entirety of the Saiyan race had been exterminated by his hand. Something that he may have to accomplish in this new reality too.
“Oh dear,” Frieza began, shaking his head and tutting. “And for a moment, you had me convinced that you possessed a higher level of intelligence than your fellow monkeys, but it would appear that you share that same stubborn flaw,” he continued, watching as the fire in Tarble’s eyes ignited. It bore a striking similarity to the same look he saw in King Vegeta’s eyes the moment he had enslaved their species. “It is a pity. As much as I enjoy exterminating your wretched kind, I had hoped we could have turned over a new leaf and started afresh, with me as your supreme overlord, guiding you towards a much brighter future. But alas, it seems that as per usual, your kind is not able to recognise true generosity, even when it’s staring you in the face,” a smirk crossed Frieza’s lips as he continued teasing the Saiyan, knowing that it was likely that he was getting under the skin, as he had done so many times to so many of his brethren.
The Changeling’s knuckled cracked as he clenched his fists, taking a deep breath as he prepared his body. He could already feel the heat rising from within as his power surged, flowing through his body at an ever increasing rate. The very ground itself started to rumble and shake from the intense power his body was now giving off.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Frieza added, as his smirk turned to a scowl. His petite body immediately began shifting, the power inside of him forcing his body to grow and expand to accommodate. His muscles pumped up, and his stature continued to grow. Even the horns on his head grew larger, sticking out further. The Changeling groaned as his body reached the final stages of his metamorphosis, now standing easily at around eight feet tall, even without his horns. He now possessed a much more imposing figure, particularly in comparison to the much smaller Saiyan.
“I’ll give you one last chance to kneel before I skewer you like a pig,” Frieza warned, his voice sounding much deeper and more menacing after his transformation.

The Forgotten Saiyan 429/1,914 Tarble stood motionless, arms crossed over his chest, listening to the arrogant words spilling from the changeling's mouth. Then, the changeling said something that struck a nerve, reminding Tarble of the chilling statements he’d once heard from Doctor Ghast. But there was a difference: while the Doctor experimented on his kind, this changeling spoke of exterminating them. Tarble’s left eye twitched in barely-contained fury. “Talking down to me is one thing, but now telling me that he takes pleasure in destroying my kind… my race…”Tarble’s hands tightened around his biceps as he struggled to rein in his anger. For months, the lost prince had abandoned his training, determined to leave fighting behind. Yet now, as the changeling’s condescending voice droned on, talking down to him and promising to "guide him toward a brighter future," his resolve wavered. Tarble shook his head slowly, trying to drown out the arrogance; until he caught the chilling words, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”The air around the two fighters crackled as the wind began to rise. Tarble watched as the changeling’s form shifted, growing larger and more menacing. Moments ago, they had stood eye to eye, but now the changeling towered over him, a monstrous presence. With a final, sweeping gesture, the changeling gave Tarble one last warning, commanding him to kneel. “Does he really think I will kneel before him after he just told me he was exterminating my kind. I will tear each limb from this changeling with a smile on my face the entire time”Tarble was determined to get his words in before the changeling could start another arrogant rant. “I kneel before no one,” he declared, voice steady. “But now, you’ve given me a new purpose.” He paused, letting his arms fall as he turned his body, positioning his right hip toward the changeling. Extending his right arm, he pointed directly at his opponent, his gaze sharp and unyielding. “Everything you said was nothing but wasted breath. But when you spoke of exterminating my race…" his voice rose, filled with anger, "MY RACE…" he clenched his fist, "that sealed your fate. Your time has come.”A golden aura flared around the lost prince, sending gusts of wind rushing outward. Small sparks of lightning crackled through the energy field as Tarble began to unleash his power. The ground beneath him fractured, splitting under the force he radiated. Raising his power only slightly, he sneered, “I’ll give you just a glimpse of my strength... Scum like you don’t deserve to witness the true power of the Saiyan prince.” Actions1. Introduction 2.
