“And what a collection it shall be, by the looks of it,” Mona said with a smile as she finished up a conversation with a man who specialized in collecting rare animals.
“Well, if you ever need assistance in hunting beasts, I would be happy to help. I’ve been looking to take on more jobs. Plus, I’ve been looking for excuses to experiment more with magic.” She followed the red eyes of one of the caged beasts. They were unsettling and something about them felt powerful. He got the impression that the beast could kill her in a heartbeat if it wanted to.
“I should get going,” she said, feeling as though a change in subject was due. She went home and decided to meditate to take her mind off of the beasts she’d seen. She looked inwards and tried to seek out someone to fight.

This gem was peculiar. Usually when touched, Upa would find himself in the realm of Those Beyond, as he called it -- alluding to his own capabilities seemingly always dwarfed by those lingering in that space, unclear as it was. It was never a way to triumph over an adversary, but to test his limits and hopefully push past them.
This was no different. His initial mindset before reaching for the sphere, telling him to simply enjoy the ride; whatever comes up. "Alright, one loss, coming up!" He hyped himself, smiling defeatedly already as he closed his eyes, palm firmly grasping over the orb.
... Now what is this dimension going to look like this time?

Their location was a clearing in a large forest. The trees around looked straight out of a storybook with ridiculous colors and proportions. They acted like a wall, preventing anyone from escaping. This was like an arena for a fight to the death.
Mona breathed in deeply, trying to find the courage to do what was necessary. She had to fight if she ever wanted to prove herself.
She held out a hand and flicked her finger up to point at the newcomer. “So, you’re my opponent,” she muttered under her breath. “So be it, let’s see what you can do.”

-- A fairytale-like forest. The likes of which Upa could never imagine before.
Some of his fellow tribesmen may have alluded back in the day, to have witnessed sights such as these on the occasional trip via some suspicious mushrooms. With the memory unlocked, the boy's eyes squinted, eyebrows furrowed as he looked around, quick to violently shake his head in an attempt at refusal. "(Father... I swear I didn't take anything weird!)"
"---" The voice of a sudden other snapped him back to this 'reality' as the boy took a moment to examine his current adversary. Looks can be deceiving, but he'd be damned if he's ever seen anyone appear any less threatening - though suspicious - than this woman.
"...Alright," His ears, trained over years in the wild, managed to at least catch her last piece of speech. Assuming a stance, the dark-skinned prepared to launch the first move, as he was used to. "Let's see how long this can last!"
Immediately springing forward, Upa bolted towards the other with his head forward, attempting a very direct headbutt straight to her center of mass.

Mona had seen a lot of shit doing these telepathic battles, but she couldn’t remember if she’d ever been headbutted. The thick skull collided with her abs and she just barely managed to tense up quickly enough to help brace herself. She grunted and still skidded back a good ways.
“Curse you and your hard head,” she muttered as she took a deep calming breath. She then held up her fists and narrowed her eyes. “Do you always open with such brash moves?”
She took a few careful steps forwards and tried to jab at him to test out his defensive abilities.

Seems his advance was successful! Though the opposition's hardened core managed to mitigate some of the damage, the tribesman would credit the strike's lesser effect mostly to his own lack of aim; usually starting, as she suspected, with a wild move to throw the other off. "Is it bad?" He questioned back, bracing himself for the following advance.
At the woman's incoming fists, the boy took a leap back, eyes fixated on her form as she closed the distance in no time, throwing a series of one-two's into his form. To retaliate, he took to all fours, lowering his stature to test the woman's capabilities, fighting a shorter foe.
He could only infer from her build and height, that this would be a rather new experience for her. Hopefully, he was right; finding his wild stance effective, but that alone wouldn't be enough to bolster his defenses, as Upa took a quick straight to his shoulder despite his defenses raised.
Though from his quadrupedal position, making high attacks would be easier than it seems - with the boy's reply coming in the form of a power-packed kick, using his left leg and coming in a wide arc to swipe into the lady's side.

Mona nodded in approval when Upa leapt back to get out of range. It was a good idea not to get close to people who could explode ki out of their hands. She was also trying to figure out what kind of opponent she was up against. She couldn’t remember the last time she had fought against a quadrupedal fighter. Alas, this was good because it meant she could gain experience.
She tilted her head as he came at her fast, swiping a leg into her side. She was ready for an attack this time though, and knelt. She brought up both forearms to intercept the leg, grunting as the power of the kick made her question how much she committed to the defense.
She pushed out with her arms, trying to shove her opponent away. With her outstretched hands she tried to fire some ki blasts at him to see how durable he was. Mona felt a surge of ki well up insider he and she transformed into a super saiyan. She knew she might need the boost, though she wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do next. Her opponent was so unique, so… strange. She needed to think outside the box if she wanted to win. She thought about even letting loose a Kamehameha to try obliterating this opponent in one hit. If it worked then she at least knew she was capable of dealing with the threat if she ever ran into it in the wild. And god she didn’t know if she wanted to.

Upa's fighting style would be described as less effective than most warriors'; at least, by the standards displayed in this gem's enviornment so far. Most of them had been trained in actual martial arts through several masters, while he decided to stick with the rabid style instilled into him by his fellow tribesmen and the numerous times he's executed these upon animals in the wild. A fight is, in a way, just another form of a hunt.
His leg intercepted and thrown away, the boy leveraged the sudden momentum and leapt up in unison with the force applied at him; causing him to take further distance away from his foe, though in his flipping motion he failed to properly react to the incoming barrage.
