This was discussed a lil' in chat but there are multiple people who think that it would be neat to allow characters to have access to their own, unsteal-able copy of limited items that are associated with their character.
For example: Goku could buy his own copy of Goku's Power Pole. Nobody could steal it from him.
Why?
1) most of these items are not even that good so I don't see it causing an imbalance in power. also, a lot of the 'good' items are associated with very unpopular characters, like sorbet and hercule. If you really want to play one of those then I think getting their special item isn't that big of an ask.
2) it really fucking sucks to be deprived of your signature weapon.
3) it would encourage staff to make more items for more canon characters.
Someone has suggested that we could instead allow people to use their custom item to 'clone' these items for their canon character. I think that's kind of excessive since every modern custom item is better than donator-limited items. If you really wanted to use your custom item you could make something better that fit your build.
Anyways, posting this all here by request so have at it folks.
Disclaimer: I think Broly's Collar is straight garbage and would never use it so I'm unbiased lol

Wow I rly like that second part at the very least, cuz donation items are inherently balanced and endorsed by staff (they’d be changed otherwise) and there no adverse affect to having duplicates. You just can’t duplicate custom items cuz they’re custom and creativity went into them.
I see no reason from a staff perspective to decline that second idea lol. The first isn’t bad either fo sho
