Control.
Chirai did not have control over anything. Not her life, her memory or her own power. She was born an orphan, something she could not control. She put as much control over her life as she could, joining Wild Wolf and trying to control her small gang. But in the end, there still wasn’t much control. She still answered to someone who controlled everything for her. Even the small moments of independence she felt had were being controlled by someone or something. Chirai did not have any control over her own life.
After the meeting with the pack leaders, Chirai began to have holes in her memory. She would suddenly lose consciousness and wake up unclothed and somewhere unknown to her. It was not uncommon for her to be around deceased and mangled bodies either. It was something she could not understand and yet another thing she had no control over. Her instinctive reaction to this was to bury it to avoid panic. She did that. Chirai did not tell this to her gang members. The green girl hid this hideous new fact about herself from the world. She did not have control over her memories.
Never did she have control over her own power. She knew she was strong and that she had the ability to manipulate the stored energy in her body, but to what extent? Chirai had always been curious about it. The pack leader wanted to explore her power and there was one place that she was going to be able to do so; The Coliseum. She was familiar with the Arlian Coliseum by just word of mouth, and when her most recent acquaintance, Yan Cass, mentioned it, she was convinced to go there for the hell of it. As she battled, moving up the ranks, she was becoming feared by a lot of combatants because of her sporadic her power was. She came like an explosion and that was how she made it to the finals. She made it without gaining one thing. She still did not have control over her power.
The young emerald girl stood in the middle of the arena, drowning out the sounds of the crowd as she stared at her opponent before her. Chirai had grown custom to not asking for names or anything. The talking would happen in mid fight at some point. Chirai’s stare gave off no emotion initially. It was honestly, the subtle clenching of her fist that would give away her first move. Knees buckled and like springs, her legs uncoiled! She pushed herself at the woman before her with a light and fast fist slicing the wind in half to get towards her face.
Another fist came forward to add to the previous’ goals, another hit toward the face, but this time with a hook to aid her body in twisting to the side. As her body twisted, her leg stretched at and a quick kick at the female’s shoulder was on its way. The angle of her foot only would allow it to graze the shoulder, instead of full stop motion contact. Chirai was using as much knowledge gained from the previous fights in order to put together an understanding of her to properly deal damage.
She wasn’t here for the heavy hits and Chirai was not done yet. With her body twisted, her back facing the combatant, she jammed her elbow back in hopes to hit something. She only hoped because she could not see exactly where that elbow was going. Chirai only felt her opponents location based on what she remembered a few seconds ago. In the midst of attacking with her elbow, the green girl was spinning her body around coming with an open handed slap of her hand that was opposite of the elbow she used for the jam. Chirai was not going to spin again and put her body back to her opponent and extended her other hand with another fist, but toward the chest this time.
Every bit of her motions were rigid and almost unsure, but conviction tried its best to erase the ambivalent. Her last attack was a power punch toward the same part of the female’s face she aimed for before.

Chirai’s final opponent did not seem like a finalist, most likely because she wasn’t. The actual intended opponent for this match had somehow ended up indisposed, and the slot needed filled by someone. This someone had certain backing that gave the organizers some confidence but seeing her stand in the large arena let doubt slither in. From above she looked like a very small unimposing cripple. Weapons and armor were allowed in the ring, and Bulma did have on some gear stolen from various wares that she had modified to her liking, but like Yan’s it pressed close to her skin, easily hidden by clothes. Her legs were guarded only by a long flowing skirt that seemed to be glimmering, laced in gold. She wore a sleeveless turtleneck and the color of it split showing black fabric on her good side and another goldish color towards the armless void. The one arm she did have was at least properly decorated with gauntlet and gloves, but without its matching set it seemed very meager. She held no weapon, nor was her belt filled with the tools she once used so easily. She looked more to be going to a gala instead of a fight, her wavey hair brushed from her face with a gold laced headband. Normally, the look in one’s eyes and expression would deem their level of skill, but Bulma’s face remained relaxed and happy, without a trace of fear or seriousness a fight for her life should have provided. As for her energy signature, well it was nothing so dramatic as Yan Cass’, but it did have a similar darkness to it that demon auras usually provided. The signature wasn’t weak either, but it was not deadly overpowering. When Bulma stepped out far enough to see Chirai properly, her smile was not unkind, nor was it condescending. It felt more...approving. Yes, the certain backing was definitely a certain monkey, but Bulma had her own interest in the girl. Her fingers twitched a little at her side in anticipation. Truthfully, she wanted to be ripped apart. She wanted to see this powerless girl find control, though she definitely would not make it easy. She wanted to see limits broken after all, and while she was quite used to never getting her way in battle, it would be fun to try none the less. The former scientist slid into a careful stance as the fight began, but she did not need to see the slight twitch in Chirai’s fist. The plan of movement filled her mind long before the girl launched herself towards Bulma. The stance Bulma slid into allowed her to move more freely, as stances often did, and the punch that sailed straight into her face in her mind whizzed by it, blowing back her hair as she stepped back. Like the fencer she once was, her feet glided easily into a crossover leaving the next punch to strike the air she once inhabited. The footwork then left her in the position for a quick pivot so that Chirai’s foot too could go a bit off target. The next elbow was wild and Bulma pushed it into the girl’s spin before stepping in. With careful timing she tried to send a hook under the girl’s guard towards the body as well as into the spin’s force for greater impact, letting the slap go wildly off point. Chirai’s next punch was given a counter attempt too, by a shift of Bulma’s body and then a quick elbow down towards Chirai’s wrist as the punch cut through the air once more. She didn’t really need telepathy to read these attacks, though it helped. The girl’s mind was as rigid as her movements, fixated on her attacks and responses. That wasn’t a bad thing and instinct was more commonly triggered in defense. Bulma would just have to see further. She dropped easily onto her back as the next punch soared overhead, her knees pulling in before snapping out towards the girl’s midsection with a fierce amount of power. In an instant she had rolled into a crouch and took off in chase, passing the girl only to slam her good arm towards the green girl’s back to try and push her into the ground. Dropping herself, the demonic human went quickly into a leg sweep, attempting to either slam into the girl’s fallen body or to knock her onto it once more. Rising she used the continued spin to send a right hook (as if she could do a left) towards Chirai’s temple, which was quickly snapped back and out again to try and deliver a chop right to her throat. Without much hesitation, it swiftly rose up to chop down before Bulma’s knee rose up, trying to dig into the girl’s lowered gravity. All the while her left side was left dangerously open, suspiciously so, considering the level of skill shown. Or maybe she was just that cocky. Free. Suppress to 60%Free. Telepathy Dodge A1 A1. The happiness that Bulma exuded caressed the young green girl’s eyes. Before Chirai had struck she took notice in a lot of detail about the woman before her. Was she prepared to fight? Chirai had no right to ask that, as she was dressed as if she had just skipped school, with her skirt on and covering the upper half of her body with a hoodie jacket. She also had on socks that rose up to knee length and her shoes were also unfitting for battle. Her white hair spilled out of her cowl and the purple eyes could hardly be seen.
This woman was also handicapped, or at-least she looked that way. She was missing an arm and that was intriguing by itself. She missed an arm yet she smiled? Chirai may have been inexperienced, but surely she felt…
I should have this in the bag, everyone else was easy and they had two arms. I should have like 3 things to watch out for, instead of 4
She felt the energy signature, still confused at what feeling it meant. This woman was not as intimidating as Mr. Cass had been, but still she was at-least more powerful than the contestants here.
Bulma took a stance and the punch that Chirai sent to her found no home and continued going. Just like her previous fist, the other missed the door of opportunity and found not even a scrape of the woman’s head to bash in.
Chirai’s sweep did nothing but pick up dust as Bulma skillfully removed herself from harm’s way and it left Chirai in awe within her mind. That was smooth...
She wasn’t done yet, her elbow came in wild, and easily Bulma tamed that beast with a slight push and the first hit banged against her body, widening her eyes. It was not the pain, no. She was shocked at the speed and the fluidity of the motions. Bulma was dancing with her, and Chirai was being such a horrible dance partner.
As Bulma dropped down to completely dodge her next attack, Chirai looked down and saw the next attack before it happened; it was just nothing she could do to stop it. She was launched into the air and she winced her eyes closed. As quick as she went into the air, she was sent back down toward the ground and bounced up a bit in response.
Before she could react, a sweeping motion smacked her into a spin, hitting her in the head. At this point, Chirai scrambled to her feet and held her arms in a cross to guard against the next onslaught of attacks. The green girl paid attention to Bulma’s stance and she waited until the knee, putting emphasis on blocking it before swinging hard with her right fist toward the left ribcage.
Chirai thought that would be the only attack she could sneak in on the left side, and with determination painted in her pupils, her fingers set fire with sparks of white energy, popping like popcorn as she stretched them out. She made a fist, which exploded with power as she slammed it toward her face, ready to explode on impact.

As Bulma’s attacks met guard her smile grew. It remained without malice, or even with the mania many fighters possessed in their joy of fighting. It was still as if she was watching Chirai, challenging the girl rather than pushing herself. It was strange though. It didn’t feel like overconfidence, or even that Bulma felt she was stronger than her opponent. It just felt calm, and polished, as if the pain, struggle, and fear of battle had been chipped away from her. Now it was like walking, running once she started being pushed back, but the complexities were almost lost from her.
Her smile did change as the girl went for her left side. It was more carefully timed but Bulma’s arm was already there to block. It was always there just waiting the instant to be called and fully formed. Chirai’s fist crushed into what looked like solid smoke. The arm wasn’t even fully formed but Bulma felt it as if it were her own body, reinforced and strengthened more than most armors. It was connected to her deeply and she felt the vibrations from it even as that smoke hardened further and took full shape. The formation was quick, all before the girl pulled all the way back, and then it was waiting for her.
The limb was somewhat frightening by appearance alone. It was dark in a way that felt more like a void than a color, lacking everything where no light could touch it even as bright purple ki sparked around it. It was larger than it should have been if it had planned to match Bulma’s small frame. Longer too, in a nightmarish way, the limb stretching farther than it should only to end in five sharp claws. By appearance alone, it was demonic, but even the dullest of senses could feel a foreboding coming from it. It was made from the morningstar, Lucifer’s gift upon her, and it was unsettling and itching and somehow quiet like the emperor of hell himself, on the right day.
Chirai moved to create another swing, this one sparking with ki and the claw matched it the purple sparks pulling down into its hand. Bulma stepped forward and shoved her palm towards the strike. The two energies and hands met, and it was very similar to being electrocuted. The force vibrated up both of their limbs with a shocking force that froze all the muscles for a brief second, and then it exploded, the sparks dancing free as the force pushed Bulma back.
The scientist decided not to give Chirai time to recover. The girl had seen her and made the typical mistake. Two legs and two arms versus two legs and one arm...but the reality was that it was four against six. The fourth had made its appearance and immediately released the fifth.
The claw still outstretched seemed to drip like it was melting, the energies pulsing, before a black rod dropped out, caught immediately into both hands. It was a strange looking weapon, almost as dark as the claw, and yet there was some type of impossibly thin fabric wrapped around it. Bulma spun the weapon before it could truly be inspected however, and closed the difference the two energy packed physicals had placed between them. The fighting distance had changed and while it felt like she was still too far, her posture changed and she snapped the rod down towards Chirai’s neck and shoulder. The fabric would do nothing to soften the hardness of the weapon and Bulma spun it back to dig into the ground to use as leverage to push herself into two quick kicks towards the girl’s chest. It was followed immediately by another palm strike by the black limb, its size enough to hit the girl’s entire face if she didn’t avoid it.
Spinning the stave once more, she then spun herself to attempt to slam her heel into the girl’s ankle. Her skirt twirled with her before she dropped lower so her elbow could find its way towards the girl’s gut before rising and snapping back and into a backhand. Moving in quick succession her hand dropped this time to take hold of the stave to try and jam that into her stomach.
Whether the stabbing was effective or not, she then dug the back end of the pole into the ground in order to vault herself up once more into another hard kick towards the girl’s body. As her feet touched back on the ground her right hand shot out in a side chop to the girl’s head before pulling in to spear hand into her abdomen.
Big scary claw thing or not, she definitely favored her right arm for attacking, which was a result of her training under Vegeta and Mercy while she was still surviving with one arm.
”Keeping up?” she asked as if it were a true question and not something that would have been displayed through how Chirai handled Bulma’s attacks. It didn’t say anything about her mental state though, so maybe she was addressing that.

As Chirai guarded against some of Bulma’s attacks, she didn’t feel intensed agression from the odd woman she was guarding against. The back of the young girl’s neck began to feel icy coldness drip down her spine, Chirai knew she was being watched by Bulma in a way that was mixed with curiosity rather than strategy. How could this woman stay so calm in battle? It didn’t take Chirai much longer than understand that this woman was more experienced than she was in battling.
But what could she do still, with just an arm? Chirai didn’t falter when she aimed for Bulma’s unseen left and she was still bringing it with full force. Upon crashing against a solid demonic shadow, Chirai slightly twitched in shock. Even though she should have foreseen something like this from a knowledgeable fighter such as Bulma, she didn’t.
”What the fuck...” It formed itself into a menacing claw and rose to match her next movement, a move that Chirai felt was going to be the ace to winning this battle. The young girl was not used to using her explosive power to win fights, not having to really use it in earlier fights. But now she could see that she must use it.
The claw clashed with her burning fingers and the canceled each other out, but also pushed Chirai off balanced.
“Gah!” Her eyes shut to block out the sparks, a mistake she wish she didn’t make. As Chirai opened her eyes she saw a dark rod within Bulma’s hand.
Damnit.
Chirai knew weapons were allowed, but still didnt’ expect them to be hidden like this. Bulma closed the gap between them within the time frame of a blink and all Chirai could do was cross her arms against the next attack, angling her block to upward to catch the brutal force of the blunt weapon. As Bulma dug the weapon into the ground, Chirai reset her guard and blocked the two kicks and they made her stumble backwards.
Fast.
The dark claw extended toward her face, forcing Chirai to pull up her guard toward her face. Bulma was quick, but Chirai didn’t have to move much herself to prepare for what was in-front of her. After pulling her guard up, she used as much force as possible to uncross her arms and push the arm away from her, feeling the immense difficulty in doing so. She did that, to keep her eyes available for the next attack, and was still ready to guard against her front. She rose her ankle to avoid the heel and both her hands cupped and pushed out toward the elbow to block her own gut.
Bulma was yet to be done as she came up with the same vigor to backhand Chirai, who rose the one arm up to block that as well.
But...that was all Chirai could do to keep up for that instance. The emerald skinned girl was tired. Exerting her body like that to keep up with such a brutal onslaught was physically and mentally draining and just as she took time to let out a sigh of weariness her eyes popped open from a jam by that stave into her stomach.
Saliva spouted out of her mouth and she immediately grabbed her stomach in response. Chirai wanted to avoid a direct hit again, they really did hurt. She stumbled back and was wide open to the last combination that Bulma had, surprising Chirai with that stamina of hers to keep an onslaught going so long. Chirai’s body slid back even more from the hard kick, and as the chop to her head sent her spinning, at the end of her spin she felt a jab into her abdomen that made her drop to a knee.
Chirai brought herself to her feet with a quickness, shunning the pain away at that question. Chirai was not keeping up. It looked like it at first, and the young girl had confidence that she could. But the reality of the situation was that Bulma was just a bit too quick. She managed to put a grin of approval up and her eyes sharpened to a focus.
“Somewhat.”
Chirai regained her composure and put up her fists. Sparks began to pop and almost liquid like energy dripped onto the concrete floor. There was a hiss as the energy pelted onto the ground and tiny lines of smoke whimpered up into the air.
“Didn’t think I was gunna have to stress myself with using power, but there ain’t a better stage to learn how to use it!”
Her muscles tensed. From her shoulders and down to the very edges of her palms were ripples underneath her skin as she forced her hands forward and a massive wave of chaotic energy rushed outward toward Bulma. The wave lasted a few seconds, but that didn’t stop her from yanking her hands back and forcing them forward again to send more energy into the double wave, making it bigger and badder than the last one.

The last set of strikes landed with satisfying pressure, bringing her opponent down to one knee. It wasn’t an outcome Bulma was unused to. Before hell, she was the one constantly taking a knee, but in it...well, she was still constantly taking a knee but she helped Mercy sometimes, training weaker demons, torturing those with enough spirit that they might prove useful in some other way. In both of those cases, the response that came next was important. Would they attempt to flee, or launch into another desperate attack? Would they rise again, prepared to continue and give back as much as they could without a thought of giving up?
The latter she loved the most, and when Chirai moved to do exactly that, rushing back to her feet before immediately refocusing and grinning, Bulma loved it more. The girl gave an semi-honest answer, though her sharp eyes seemed to tell another story. She wasn’t keeping up, but that was not going to stop her.
Her fists rose and began to spark. The human took one step towards those sparks, to separate her feet for easier movement without backing down. Her blue eyes sparkled against the life they produced though, lit up in excitement and curiosity at the effects. The ki seemed to drip out, like she tried to tear the paper lid off of one of her chakra points only to rip off only the top layer and a tiny corner. The lid was much more frail now, but it held and Chirai worked it like she was gravity and the point was a bottle that had been flipped over and banged on.
It was beautiful really, but that didn’t mean Bulma was going to allow it to drip on her dress. The first set of blasts poured from the girl’s hands like an electrical current finally unleashed, and Bulma stepped forward again, her staff swinging in a swift circle before it spun down hard on the first blast before up through the second. Like the water metaphor we’ve carrying on with, the blasts exploded against the force sending stray droplets of ki over the scientist’s arms and hands, but released harmlessly elsewhere.
She could feel another blast coming, this one with more force and in a split second’s decision she chose to drop the staff completely. It began to fall, but long before it reached the arena tile did Chirai’s beams strike home, and they struck home, technically.
The two beams were caught in Bulma’s open palms, held there for a moment, pushing, as the staff finally clattered. One, two, the harsh metal sounded on stone, and then both of Bulma’s palms closed as the beam’s tails caught up to them. Calculations spun and went into effect in her own thin aura. She covered the blasts entirely with it and her hands at exactly the right pressure, and an explosive rush of hot wind erupted from each point. Ki flowed back towards Bulma as sparks of lightning erupted like she were an electrical conductor, only for it all to melt away.
What was once Chirai’s ki had merged into Bulma’s aura, it’s color changing to blue as the sparks seemed to get eaten up by the sudden heat, creating new lightning bolts that let out immediate cracking noises. Bulma’s hair had fluttered back and now fell still, her entire body still surrounded in blue bon fire. There was noise from the crowd. Many had jumped back, but the fire began to shrink until it merely danced on Bulma skin like she was coated in alcohol, still so hot the air around her looked blurred.
”Stress yourself until it is no longer stressful,” Bulma said with a smile that quickly turned sly. ”Or at least not as much~”
Her foot stomped down on one end of the staff, kicking it back up and into her hand before she rushed forward again, bringing literal heat with her as each step across the tile hissed.
When she reached the staff’s lengthy range, it spun again before lashing out in a side strike. The heat luckily didn’t transfer over the weapon, but Bulma had spun now in the opposite direction in an attempt to deliver a flaming kick, followed immediately by another from the other leg, and then, with her hand still clenched around the staff, she slammed her fist towards the girl’s face.
Bulma pulled it back but immediately pivoted to try and send her elbow into the girl’s gut, flames still crackling around her. Tossing the staff slightly upwards behind her, she turned to catch it with her other hand while ducking down to deliver two quick body blows. With another turn she sent the staff hard towards the side of Chirai’s knee.
From her lowered position, Bulma then pulled the weapon back and shot it upwards to try and take the girl’s head off. She followed it up, meeting any recovery with another uppercut, followed by two more swift body blows, in hopes the guard was high.

RP Award
Both sides are going strong with their posts, and it has been an enjoyable read thus far. It was great to see Chirai opening up from her stoic persona and the efforts in Bulma's attacks are commendable. Chirai's third post certainly stands out, but Bulma has been more consistent in maintaining that level of quality. Therefore, while it was close... A note to both fighters: don't forget about the arena! You're not fighting in a vacuum, after all!

There was a rumble that rivaled the pelts a herd of buffalo would beat upon the ground. That was the crowd of people’s roar of excitement as the energy exploded from Chirai’s palms and attempted to sweep over Bulma. In-front of Chirai was a tiny wall of power, cloaking what Bulma had done to rid herself of the first wave. The people were in awe at Bulma as she swung the blast and broke it into pieces. Chirai reverenced as well, her eyes lowering in concentration as she sent the second wave of power at Bulma.
Impressive.
Bulma absorbed the energy and made it her own, cloaking herself in an aura of soft blue heat. The wind burst about, shaking Chirai’s hair and causing a few spectators to shield their own eyes. The arena itself was still in tact, save maybe a few cracks on the ground. Chirai’s eyes opened up to a normal filler, watching as Bulma propped her staff back up into her hand. As Bulma advanced toward the young girl, the crowd had grown silent with anticipation.
Even the subtle gulp from nervousness could be heard by Chirai. Was that her own imbibe? Nonetheless, the girl was prepared for what she had to do. She needed to adjust her eyes and body to Bulma’s current quickness, or this was going to be a long battle. Bulma swung it much like a baseball bat, or so did the arc seem that way… maybe not in form and Chirai ate it like it was an appetizer. She winced whilst getting a feel for the pain. The crowd gasped at the obvious hit. To them, Chirai was the upcoming champion and also the crowd favorite.
Chirai could feel the shift in the crowd as Bulma’s kick hit its mark and she felt the scorching pain. It was a lot more painful than she anticipated and a yelp or whine came out of her lips forcefully. Another hit from the opposite side of her body felt a bit more familiar but that didn’t stop it from hurting much. The punch to her face slammed her eyes shut and she stumbled backwards, now she had to add her face to the bruise list along with her arms and torso.
Her feet shuffled through the sandy arena, doing a great job at keeping her on her feet while she took the beating from Bulma. Chirai’s body careened in all directions as Bulma bombardment of attacks smitten her. Even though it seemed that Bulma was gaining the upper hand, or masterfully already had it, Chirai didn’t waste the opportunity to learn from this.
After the first exchange, Chirai had already made up her mind that this battle wasn’t going to be won by just a flashy show of power. She needed to adjust, and so she did. The young green skinned girl stopped sliding across the arena grounds and placed her hand against a column within the battleground and looked up with her eyes focused on Bulma’s oncoming charge. Her free arm swung up into position to take the brunt of the staff, the damage lessening. Her head dropped hard, using her own forehead to block the uppercut, rather than letting it crush her chin.
With her hand that she was using to hold onto the column, she brung that forward along with her other one to block the two body blows and her hand snapped back up and she looked Bulma directly in the eyes with own set.
Visualize gas as your base. You can do so much more with your power, young cub
With a crimson flash of her eyes, Chirai’s fingers outstretched on its own and her arms bulged by only a bit. Like a tea pot ready to boil over, a bright white steam exuded from her pores and cloaked both Bulma and herself in a mushroom cloud of thick smoke.
Now feel her energy. Feel her out.
Bulma was a spark in the back of Chirai’s mind, just like every spectator in the stands. The sparks danced with different colors and Chirai’s eyes moved to each one until she realized that she just needed the spark in-front of her.
Hide.
Chirai’s own energy signature dropped to absolutely nothing as she jumped back. It wasn’t something she purposely tried to accomplish. It was more like, she wanted to become a ghost and she did so by dropping her presence instinctively. She was making sound, but that wasn’t her issue. The roar of the crowd would become her muting device as she swung around to the side of Bulma. The purple in her eyes grew over the crimson tint, making sure only a dark red outline was all that could have been seen.
Cub, don’t let this confuse you. You are fighting for control, but I own you. Attack.
There was once a moment when Bulma would have noticed how rigid Chirai’s stance was. Now, once weaving through the confusion of the smoke, she would see Chirai had become more fluid but wild. Her punches were not punches, but swipes of rigid hard fingers as if they were claws and they were aiming for a specific part of her body, her only exposed flesh arm. Whether to force a block or not, she targeted that arm with all nine of her quick strikes within the dying smoke.
As the smoke died off, the people themselves began to increase their volume as they could finally see some of the action. Chirai felt that the thoughts she were thinking earlier were her own, but all the same she could not shake the feeling that something else was inside her. It reminded her all to well of the times before she completely blacked out.

As Chirai stretched out her hand, Bulma jumped back, taking caution against her opponent despite her apparent advantage. The girl had a lot of raw power along with hidden talent. She was learning as she went, taking each hit with not only stride but attention. Her eyes told the scientist to be ready. The last display of ki would not be Chirai’s last, and if Bulma was not careful she would be caught by the next one, so she gave herself some distance to handle it.
Unfortunately, the attack Chirai powered her ki into was not a trackable blast or beam. Instead it was pure smoke that expanded to cover the whole arena in an instant. The only out of bounds in the Arlian Arena was completely out of the arena. Getting knocked into the crowds didn’t matter, being swung into the air didn’t matter. It was only it you were knocked completely out of the venue were you put on time limit to return. The crowd was victim to Chirai’s gas too however, which immediately caused complaints and even more noise to block out the girl’s movements.
There was no where for Bulma to go outside of it, so she had to do what she could in it.
Of course, if it were just smoke that would be one thing, but it wasn’t. Chirai dropped herself to a level her scouter could not detect. She had good senses as a human, but she was surrounded by ki. The smoke was made from Chirai’s energy, making her tiny point zero one percent be reflected in every space the smoke took.
The human tried to rely on her ears, but that was quickly given up on when a loud boisterous man shouted something quite rude with as much volume as he could manage. By then it was too late anyway. The dark outline of her opponent could be seen, moving quickly. The whole fight Bulma had been managing to get her attacks in, but she was suppressing her own power to the point their speeds were actually quite matched. The difference had been technique, and now as the girl moved more fluidly, she was less easy to predict, and the game changed however slightly.
The first set of strikes crashed into her arm like razors. Wild punches were dangerous to perform in normal circumstances. They were always wide and full of motion, so countering them was much less difficult. In the smoke where these actions could not be seen, the wild unpredictable nature was more dangerous. They were swift too, using less motion where possible. She could see the shadows in the smoke, feel the gas against her skin as it moved towards and away from her. She didn’t stay completely still for the next one, moving with her own weaving motions, half expecting to crash into the girl on accident.
Three more strikes landed, striking into her arm with only the gauntlet to defend if she managed to raise it enough. Three more strikes would be coming. Would she be so predictable? Bulma took the bet, planting her feet as she reached the center ring, her arm exposed, until it wasn’t. Her body twisted so the thick black claw guarded the strikes. It left her in a position where a physical counter strike would be a challenge but that wasn’t her plan.
Instead as the last attack fell against her block, her knees bent and her ki suddenly rocketed up. The smoke had yet to clear, but that didn’t matter. Suddenly her blue aura expanded around her, her power level shooting up, until it rushed out in all directions with an explosive force that pushed all the smoke into the crowds before forcing it upward. It wasn’t just the circle around her either. It expanded to create a giant dome that crashed into the stands and the air above with brutal force that sent a number of people out of their seats and onto the ground.
The smoke was gone, and Bulma jumped up from her bent knees, taking high to the sky before finding her prey somewhere below her. She wasted no time, quickly shooting six fast balls of ki towards the girl. They came in a mismatched timed clump, and using the girl’s own strategy, Bulma chased after, using them to create a blind spot.
From there she tried to jam the staff down into Chirai’s chest like a spear. Using the force against the girl or the ground, Bulma used the stave once more as a vault, her feet kicking off the ground into a fast kick, before the hand highest on the staff shot out in a reverse hook towards the girl’s face.

As the smoke thinned enough for Chirai to measure the damage she had done, her presence flipped back on like a switch but not because she willed it. Chirai’s body reacted like a predator that had been caught by its prey whilst it was in the guise of shadows. Her body tensed and her power regulated. During that regulation she felt the sting of fire rushing underneath her skin like a river of lava and it impacted her swift she was going to be as she felt the danger getting ready to explode from Bulma.
The spark that was Bulma’s power had become an inferno and the people around the arena and covered their eyes at the sight of the bright blue aura. Chirai crossed her arms, feeling them against the force of her aura as it began to get stronger.
Remember, your power and your creativity are one.
Boom!
Bulma’s power expanded and engulfed all of Chirai, leaving it unknown to what had happened to the young girl. The entire arena had been purged of smoke and many of the columns and random debris that made up the arena from past struggles. As the light died down, there was a single star of green energy pulsing and Bulma could see it from her height within her jump. Chirai had formed a steel hard barrier and managed to obviate any harm to her already weakened body.
The barrier flickered away, with Chirai’s eyes locked onto Bulma ever since she made her jump. Chirai was beginning to get a feel of how free form energy was. It was not just destructive forces that can be thrown, but also could take the form of anything she desired. So then, what was it that Bulma did earlier?
The first ball slammed against her arm only to be eaten like the delicious meal it was. With a small pop, each ball had been consumed into her body and she set a blaze, as if she was a human torch. It wasn’t as controlled as Bulma’s version, but the transmutation prevented them from doing any harm to her and also did something even better.
As the staff jammed itself into her chest, breaking her guard, the fire tried to nip back but Bulma was out of reach. The tiny streams of fire finally bit Bulma as she physically assaulted her, kicking and punching Chirai. The people in the arena had gotten to their seats, some annoyed and many others almost giggling at the high power.
Finally.
That was what they came to see. Bulma was quickly becoming a fan favorite because of her power, but they could not count Chirai out yet. Chirai’s facial expression calmed itself. At first it was showing Bulma that she was stressing out the learning curve, but now she was calm and she allowed a small grin of confidence poke out.
“This isn’t going to be about who is stronger. This is about experience. You have a lot of it. I want to tell you that I respect that, and I respect you.”
Chirai stood straight and gathered a decent center of gravity as she spread her legs and held her arms out to her sides with closed fists.
“With my respect comes my full power. I’ve learned from you so far. I want to continue to learn. I want to push myself.”
Yes. Push yourself. It makes it easier for me to come out. Give her all of your power. I want to show her, cub. I want to show her what we can do.
Vibrant streams of energy were like her own vines that covered her body. Her power was pushing itself upward and to its very limits. The energy broke her skin and an emerald aura flared around her, shaking the foundation of the arena. The crowd had gotten louder than it already had been. This was definitely what they paid for. They paid for power, not technique.
They paid for flash.
In a vivacious spark, the green aura popped like a bubble finally and settled itself around Chirai in a soft aurora luminance. She spat on the ground, allowing a small pool of blood to leave. She could still feel the flow of lava within her veins, the detrimental pain which weakened her guard. Did that stop her from advancing? Of course not.
Chirai pushed off onto the offensive with a burst of power, and pulled her fist back wide and bled her openings to Bulma just as bad as her aura bled off of her because of the sudden rush to get into Bulma’s face. In a feint, she kicked at the demonic human, twisting her body to the side to add weight to the kick. Her foot resounded like a race car passing a still nascar fan, or maybe even a jet engine over passing a grounded civilian. Once Chirai’s foot made its way to any part of Bulma’s body, her physical arm being the initial target, a burst of an explosion would add even more force and damage to Chirai’s opposer. She would then drop her leg and push her fist to Bulma’s shoulder which had a usable arm attached to it. Her aura looked like the wind, and that her fist was trying to cut through it, when in reality, Chirai was gathering power at the tip of her knuckles. At the point of contact there was another detonation.
The crowd had two separate cries of joy and excitement, each following the attacks Chirai dispatched at Bulma.

Bulma felt the fire lick at her limbs, so hot it was almost cold. She could feel the prickling on her skin that quickly turned into an almost scraping feeling as her foot connected, but that slowed her little. Her fist sailed through that burning aura into the alien girl’s face, but Chirai recovered quickly. She was getting the hang of things now. She even grinned. The scientist was tempted to say something about her power being a lot higher, but her days of bragging were long past. Besides, she had made her power match the girl’s on purpose. Taking it back now would be a bit silly. She hadn’t quite meant for it to be about experience, but that’s what it had become. She must not have been pushing the girl enough so far, but there was still time for that. ”Do your worst,” Bulma offered, grinning herself. The display was interesting to say the least. Bulma completely ignored the crowd, focusing instead on that strange unstable energy. When it erupted, Bulma took note of the new power level, but she did not adjust her own. For the first time in this match, Chirai would have the power advantage. Would it really be about experience then? The girl rushed in, but speed was not the issue. A feint was tossed in, upsetting Bulma’s guard, and the scientists only just managed to make a cross block against the flying kick, her black arm forward. The rough ki burst forth from the kick, making the cloth there fizzle while causing the demonic arm to ripple in protest. Bulma stepped back with the force of it, then rushed forward, side stepping the next explosive punch so that it whizzed past her ear. From under the girl’s arm, the black claw rose up as if to deliver a palm strike towards the girl’s jaw but instead it stopped short of the still flaming aura. A gust of sound erupted from that claw, like a thousand screaming souls. They screeched and howled at a pitch higher than most organics could create, as if their vocals had been strained unnaturally from whatever pain they endured. It spread out towards the girl’s ears like an attack on its own, sending a sharp pain through her skull unless she escaped it. Stepping out of the girl’s guard if she had to, her staff shot out once more towards the girl’s gut before it spun rapidly, creating another flash for the crowd. Her blue ki sped down the stave with electric sparks before they merged into a solid spinning disk. Bulma hurled at her with all her strength and while it was slow, it was honed to sharpened points, another display of how ki could change. On top of that, despite the straight forward trajectory, this disk would in fact give chase. Bulma pulled the stave back in a swift motion before striking the air to point at Chirai again. This time that blue ki grew immediately on the girl’s chest, bubbling up in an instant before rocking a compact but painful explosion. A1. Block A4 A2. Dodge AT A3. A pulse of pressure made parts of the coliseum rumble at the connection of Chirai and Bulma’s guard. The explosion distorted the air around them and picked up dust which covered a portion of their bodies. But even with them being slightly unseen by the crowd, they continued to cheer madly at the display. The young emerald skinned girl saw her punch miss at the skilled maneuver of Bulma. Chirai saw the claw approach and she went to guard against it, folding her arms up in-front of her… but there was no contact yet.
She opened up an eye just in time to feel the ear-piercing screams shatter her ear drum. Not only did the screams attempt to disorient her, but her aura was blown off by the force of the screams. Chirai’s feet landed on the ground and she started to take steps back, feeling her balance impediment as she wobbled her way away from Bulma. What helped her escape more was the staff shooting into her gut, which Chirai allowed to give her increased momentum in her escape.
With just one eye open, Chirai could see Bulma gyrating her staff with masterful speed. Energy leaked into the staff and escaped in the form of a jagged edged blade. This made Chirai’s eyes open up in both shock and excitement to see such a dangerous technique created. Her aura flared back up, like a wacky birthday candle that just wouldn’t go out, and she decided to test something she noticed about sound a moment ago.
Bulma’s hand created a sound so high pitched that it disoriented her and blew away her aura; was that energy? Could Chirai do the same with her own voice? She took a breath and felt the light build up into her vocal cords. Expelling that breath, along with stressing her own voice box into a high pitch scream, she produced a weaker, yet similar screech that the demonic hand did. The already slow moving disc of sharpened points began to wither away like ash against the wind until it was no more than blue fairy lights floating up into the atmosphere.
Chirai grinned after she brung in breath to compensate for the stress of reaching such a high and beautiful octave. Whilst her chest, light and sensitive, heaved up and down, she looked down feeling the tickle of bubbles against her clothing. Reflexively she slapped her hand against her chest, suffocating the explosion, as if it were a rising flame against her body that needed to die before bursting into something even more dangerous.
The young girl looked up to Bulma and saw a split second where she was froze, and that was her indicant to spring into action. She grinned as she had quite a few things in mind prior to the scream she used to destroy the blade. Chirai’s battle genius began to flourish under pressure. Ki was not something just made of jagged energies, or made of smoke, or even a solid dome for protection. It was limitless in its design.
If you understand that, cub, show her the impact of the moon.
The sky itself was covered by dust and cloud, there was no indication that the moon or the sun was out from the looks of it. The planet was always murky and dark, so which could it be? That all didn’t matter as Chirai placed her hands in-front of her as if she was holding a ball the size of her chest. Even though there was nothing there to grip, her fingers seemed gripped onto something that wasn’t there yet.
She closed her eyes, knowing just what she was trying to do with her power, and sure enough at the reward of her mind’s vision a bright white and blinding light started off as a simple dot between her fingers and expanded instantly into an insufferable lambent sphere of light which leaked between her fingers to create rays of light which beamed directly into a few groups of spectators and blinding them, almost to the point of burning away their very retina with the intensity of the light. Chirai held it over her head and then launched it at Bulma. The properties of the ball were bent towards its brightness over being malicious, which made the energy itself harmless. It didn’t travel far before it expanded and a flash of light attacked Bulma’s eyes before doing a slow rise into the air.
A moon was born.

Bulma smiled slightly as her attacks were fended off, glad to see her expectations met. The girl was getting a deeper understanding of things through every attack, and it was exactly as Yan said: all she needed was to fight someone strong.
It was fascinating to the scientist as well. Fighting had never come easy to her. She had no secret potential or quick understanding of her own energies. It took laborious training, sped up only through battle after battle in a war, and even after that she remained weaker than most warriors. Her fighting style became defensive as well as overly aggressive, fighting for her life every battle, which served her well enough on that front but did not allow her to grow. Vegeta had tried to strengthen her next, but his style was also all about survival. She scraped through every fight until Tarble, and grew steadily but slowly, with no awakening in sight.
And then she had gone to hell, and that changed everything. Survival became a secondary idea. She was no longer afraid of death, pain, or destruction. She was able to apply ki theory more easily, and a deeper control came. Still, her time in hell, though it was only a year in the living world, moved in its own time, making her training seem to last a millennia. Her progress was still slow. Not like this girl.
The brightness of her ki was unnatural, and Bulma had spent enough time with a certain perverted turtle hermit to know to be weary. Both her arms rose up over her eyes, as she bent downwards so her guard wasn’t completely destroyed below. Even with that protection, her vision dotted as the blood vessels under her eyelids came to light. She felt the soft burn and waited, expecting an attack to come barreling at her...
Instead she heard a scream. It was followed immediately by noise of panic and when Bulma lowered her arms, seeing blearily still, she could at least tell that the anxious crowd was all looking to the sky. The flare had risen there to create a make shift moon, and its presence terrified every Arlian present. It made Bulma’s eyebrow rise, and she wondered vaguely if it was because of the Saiyan presence. It was a common Saiyan technique, used to bring out the fierce giant ape that could level towns in an instant. That didn’t seem right though.
She didn’t follow tournaments back then. She had no way of knowing a young girl had created a moon in the exact same spot as Chirai—right before she crushed everyone.
Some of the crowd began to disperse and flee. Braver, or stupider, Arlians stayed put, wanting to see how things played out this time. Bulma looked back to Chirai, an amused smile on her face now.
”Let’s really scare them shall we?”
Blue ki filled her hand, but this time she pressed it to her own chest, feeling the electricity pass through her. Her eyes closed and her aura grew again, but the blue seemed to darken instead of brighten. What had been sparks and flame twisted up like dark smoke, tendrils of it dancing around her. When she opened her eyes again, the deep blue had turned to red, but the appearance alone was nothing compared to the feeling released from this transformation.
As promised, the already panicked crowd grew even more uneasy, thrusting them into something close to madness. The smoke pushed out a dangerous feeling, sparking anxiety and uneasiness. It welled and pushed at the consciousness, trying to ignite mania in anyone it touched. It made things feel like they were suddenly going too fast, starting from a person’s very own heart beat.
The crowd fell into complete chaos, and realizing that would bring upon understanding of the auras effect. It was chaos. The aura was pure chaos, and it aimed to draw everyone into it.

Another great round from both participants! Both are working great in the context of the setting, and I hope this pace in quality can be maintained. With that said, while Bulma has maintained her consistency throughout this second round--and I appreciate the little bits of character history popping up here and there--but Chirai edged out with a jump in vocabulary, description, and dialogue.

Scare them? Chirai could hear the screams of the spectators, which worried her. What was so scary? The people scrambled and tried to escape. The soft green skinned girl looked around in wonder at such a reaction. There was the occasional crowd that stay because of ignorance or curiosity. Well, there goes what she was trying to accomplish. The point of the battle was to entertain. Chirai snapped around and looked at the moon she created. Was this the source of their fright? The moon. It can be so majestic yet to some they fear it. Cub, how do you feel about it?”Issac. Why are you in my head?” She stopped ignoring the voice that continued to verbalize softly into her ear. Every word seemed to push her to do what it wanted, and she was victim of its suggestion. But now she thought no more. Chirai recognized the voice, it was their supreme leader Issac. ”Every time I hear your voice , I pass out and I do not remember a thing.” The day that you finally return home, instead of running from yourself, I will teach you, cub. The further away you go without completing the ritual, the more control you lose. The more control you lose, the more of you that you lose. Don’t be like the others.Chirai could feel her consciousness slipping as he spoke. His voice was starting to move far away from her ears. Even the sounds around her sounded like she had dove into water. Her vision, the last of it, saw the woman before her plunged into a dark azure chaos. Bulma's eyes were a crimson that shined affright. And then she slipped. Her body slumped over as if she was going to fall, but it stiffened before hitting the ground. Crack.Crack Crack. Crack.Crack Crack. Crack.Crack Crack. Her body flipped down onto all fours and seemed to roll and crumble into a transformation. It seemed very painful and there was a scream breaking from her body as it naturally felt the pain of change. Her body went from a small emerald girl and buffed out into a monstrous green canine. She rose to her hind legs to unleash a frightening howl. That set the beasts height at of 6’3 and an upper body wingspan that gave another foot or two in diameter. The wolf slung its head down and spewed a wave of fire at Bulma, before rushing in at the chaotic drenched woman. The beast wasn’t completely mindless. She showed she was watching just as intently as Chirai was during the fight. She used the combinations of the flames and the moonlight to ambush Bulma from the left side. Her outstretched manus created a ring of energy and she tossed it like a horse shoe at the woman, looking to trap her. Her skin exploded into steam, like Chirai’s had done near the beginning of the fight. It filled the stadium once again with a white bright smoke. Her presence faded once again as she rekindled the old strategy. The crowd had gone to hell. Bedlam! Pandemonium! Chaos!
