Chaos:Hydraulic doors hissed closed behind the Cosmic Emperor. The only light in the room came courtesy of a hundred candles scattered about in a ceremonial fashion. In the seeming center of the set up was a single ornate pillow of crimson and gold.
Chaos sat cross-legged on the comfortable cushion and shut his eyes. Within seconds his psychic essence was whisked away to the astral realm. When his eyelids cracked open he was greeted by a foreboding expanse that boggled even his mind.
The ground seemed to be a sort of mirror that stretched in every direction. It was devoid of even a smudge as far as he could see. Across its surface was a perfect reflection of the off-blue sky and the white clouds that moved unnaturally fast.
His head snapped westward as another presence came to his attention.
Broly: The muscular saiyan squinted into the distance as he took in his surroundings. The unusual locations ground was comprised of a mirroring effect that reflected the fast paced endless skies from above. Broly’s eyes wandered until they fell on a shadow in the distance, a unidentifiable figure who seemed to track the brutes strut as he made his approach.
“Chaos, of course. I shouldn’t be surprised,” he stated aloud.
“Is this meeting by chance or choice?” He asked flatly, raising an eyebrow.
Chaos: The abrupt invasion of another energy met the Emperors senses. Ah, a familiar face. Chaos cocked his head in the Saiyan's direction while sporting a sinister smile.
"Stick around as long as I have and you'll learn the distinction between chance and choice is often imperceivable. I try not to worry about the reasons. I'm a man of results, " he said with a dismissive wave.
"But a more direct answer is: as far as i can tell, our paths crossing is once again a random chance. Honestly, the results of chance are so much more special than preordained outcomes, wouldn't you agree?" He continued, his tone carrying an air of mystery.
Broly: One edge of his lips raised slightly at Chaos’ nonchalant tone, dismissing the nature of their encounter once again. There seemed to be a large gap in their familiarity of this foreign realm.
“I suppose so,” he replied. “Better your company than the intrusive demon, so there’s that.” The massive saiyan motionlessly reached out to the horizons but could sense nothing, not feeling even an ounce of ki from his own being. Somehow though, he still felt a subtle underlying connection to the void. The uneasy sensation took the smirk off of his face.
“I should be in the depths of space in pursuit of damaskian training gear. I take it I’m still on my way,” he raised both hands slightly in inspection. “And where might you be, emperor?”
Chaos: Chaos' expression remained stoic.
"I...am hunting," he replied with a shrug. "Speaking of that demon--" he said curiously. "--what exactly does it want with you?"
Any time that haunting creature appeared it was generally with Broly nearby. It was unlike any other demon he had encountered in his many travels to Hell and back...whatever it was, it seemed to share the Emperor's interest in the towering Saiyan. It reaffirmed his suspicions that Broly was far from a normal saiyan, but now his curiosity to know why only burned stronger.
Broly: Broly snickered lowly as he thought. The pesky fiend was an annoyance that appeared everywhere he shouldn’t. “I haven’t asked, but I want him dead.”
The immediate plan was to have the mysterious being complete errands for the warrior, though the spontaneous demon had other plans. Broly turned to face the emperor with a cold gaze.
“So, how goes the upper echelon of the galaxy?”
Chaos: "The upper echelon," he echoed thoughtfully. "I suppose that is a matter of perspective. In some ways, I am a bit removed from what you may consider the top of the galactic order."
Admitting to his recent failures only renewed the pain of those gaping wounds. He cleared his throat, let out a deep sigh, and continued.
"Let's just say the universe is an ever-shifting, ever-evolving beast. You seem like a man who could climb the cosmic hierarchy yourself...I wonder if that's why you have that specter following you around, " he said, gaze flashing curiously at the massive saiyan.
Broly: “An ever evolving beast,” he repeated under his breath. There was truly no doubt about that. “My rise should come in due time, but until then I have quite the load of work to finish.”
Broly looked out to the horizon with scrunched eyebrows. His mind was flooded with memories of his own rage, moments when dense, unbridled power leaked from his soul in untamable portions. In those seconds his strength felt limitless, and dangerous. Once the brute could master his own force, then he could begin to craft his legacy.
“I should be progressing right now, but here I am. Wasting more time,” as a heavy exhale slide through his lips.
