Tarble: Champion 3, Combat Rune
Tarble took in a deep breath. His chest began to widen, inflating outward slightly. His eyes were gently closed as the energies of the gem around his throat took hold, transporting him to a new world. Around him, a hallway was forged. Dark, dank, cold. And yet when the Saiyan God exhaled, azure flames lit to life on the torches that lined the hall.
They stopped at a point, sapphire giving way to a blotched indigo that went further down the hall.. and aimed to reveal the other within this world.

The Cosmic Emperor sat in his traditional meditative posture. His breathing slowed to where any onlooker would think him dead. In this deep trance his psychic mind was able to connect to the higher realm of psionic energy: the immaterum.
He exhaled slowly and allowed his eyes to open in time with his breathing. Gone was the lush surroundings of his meditative chambers, now replaced by a well lit (though musty) hall.
He glanced over the psychic world as it began to take shape and with it, in the distance, another being came into the world. His eyes narrowed in a squint as the being took shape. Could it be?
Without pausing to confirm the Emperor took long strides towards the other man, pace quicning with every step. Then, the psionic fog lifted---
"Tarble?" His voice was a mixture of confusion and relief. It had been so long since he had last seen the proud saiyan alive. Truth be told it took every bit of his dark willpower to stay the tears that threatened to come. He dropped to his knees, the weight of guilt suddenly overbearing his soul.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "That day...I..I failed you my brother."
His head hung shamefully. This was not an encounter he had expected and though he was overjoyed to see one of his closest allies it came with a heavy reminder that filled every heartbeat with lead.

Tarble's eyes came to a slow open, only to gaze.. at a figment. It must have been imagination. A glimmer of something created by tricks of the Astral Realm. Yet it was all too true. Cosmic Emperor Chaos, alive and in the flesh. "Chaos..?" His own voice came out with pure confusion as well, his eyes widening at the sight of him alive and well.
Yet Chaos fell to his knees, speaking of apologies and failure.
And that infuriated him.
"No." Tarble began to walk forwad, letting the weight of his new power show across the hallway. It was no show of strength nor a method of intimidating the Emperor, no, he could never do that to a man he considered his dear brother. This was to show that Tarble had not idly sat to the wayside in the wake of that battle. "Stand, Chaos. It's very unlike you to kneel." He offered his brother a smile and a hand, moving to clench at the Emperor's wrist and tug him back onto his feet.
"It is I who failed you," he confessed. "Half-cocked and in over my head, only seeking to protect you. I did not have the strength to do so before, but now.." His grin only grew as he gazed at his Emperor. "I have power comparable to my brother's. I won't let you die again, my brother." And he tugged that wrist he clenched, taking Chaos into a hug.
"We will direct our rage toward the man that tore our lives away from one another.. that damned deity."

Chaos was pulled up to his full height by the reassuring grip of his friend. This man was different now. Not that he had changed, but that he was the same man he knew-- but his power and the confidence behind his eyes and voice had amplified several times over. Somehow, since that day on Quasar, Tarble continued beyond his limits.
And Chaos? Another wave of shame. He was largely the same as he was back then, if not a bit more prone to bouts of depression and letting his revenge plans take over his life and empire.
As Tarble spoke Chaos knew what he said to be true. He was much more than he was now, so similar to his older brother in power and certainty. He couldn't help but return the smile until Tarble did something no other being on the cosmos would dare attempt-- he embraced him in a brotherly hug.
Though the guilt continued to weigh in his soul the words were sincere and did uplift his mood. Gone was the pain of loss and failure, replaced by relief and pride.Stepping back Chaos placed both hands on Tarbles shoulders and looked him over.
"Damn. Look at you. I'm here wallowing in self pity. And here you are, stronger than ever. I don't doubt your words. I haven't gotten much stronger since that fight, but I have picked up a few tricks. And a few allies, " he said with a grin. He was referring to the demon prince, Azazel, of course. But thag didnt really matter. As Tarble was now, he had no doubt the two of them alone could overwhelm any individual in existence.
"All I need to know is when you are ready to unleash that rage."

Tarble couldn't help but release a chuckle at the compliments he had received from Chaos. Such high marks from one of the most fearsome warriors in the universe, after all.. but to hear that Chaos had picked up a few tricks and a few allies made him very intrigued. "I see that you've been busy as well. I can feel the remnants of that energy around you.. it seems you've been playing with the Primordial, haven't you?"
A knowing smile found the Saiyan's features. "The one known as Azazel, he's my ally in arms as well. It's funny how fate works, isn't it?" But as Chaos mentioned unleashing that rage, the God's facial expression shifted to that of a neutral, thoughtful figure. "Unleashing this rage.. it will have to wait." He knew that such an answer may disappoint Chaos, something he wouldn't blame the Cosmic Emperor even slightly for. But..
"You may remember soon after our deaths, Beerus consumed an entire planet. The one we stood upon. He committed this ritual and essentially doubled his strength. Even as we are now.. I have doubts we could defeat him." Yet he gazed into his brother's eyes all the same. "But I have ways around such a gap." Tarble raised his hand to eye level, only for a violent, murky indigo aura to surround his palm. Chaos may recognize the power.
Destruction Energy.
"I've got a few tricks of my own.. and I've been training to rip the power away from the deity and reclaim our status at the top of the food chain again."

A look of disappointment crossed Chaos' face but he restrained his disagreement...for now.
After all, it was just being realistic. The Beerus they fell too was a far cry from the monster he has become since then. This was undeniable, and making preparations was pragmatic.
So he bit his tongue, instead focusing on the joyful reunion in that moment. That, and any other thought was cast aside at the energy Tarble produced.
Chaos simply stare at it for a moment, expression a mix of awe and anger.
"Is that what I think it is?" He asked, knowing full well the answer before Tarble replied. Yes, the saiyan had been very busy indeed. Coupled with their shared allegiance to the primordial beast known as Azazel, they were truly a force to be reckoned with as they stood.
But was it enough?
Knowing that there ain't no kill like overkill, he understood that there was no way to be over prepared for the conflict to come. Haste is what lead to their defeat before, after all. He nodded and smiled.
"When the time is right, I'll be ready, " he stated confidently.
