The boy had transitioned his mind to the immaterial setting of the astral plain. The setting was nearly an empty one, there was no furniture, architecture, vegetation, dirt, or concrete, and air. There was only Joseph sitting with his legs crossed in front of a burning candle, which was the only other things that could be proceeded by the senses apart from Joseph and the clothes on his back.
He watched the candle burn, perceiving the heat the small flame exuded, watching the flame that radiated the only and rather small source of light, the scent and the decline of the wax as parts that became more akin to a liquid drip down from the melting cylinder.
Watching began to bore him and his mind began to rove off, but he reeled himself in and retained his focus, he wouldn't trail off to other things he would watch scrutinize, while considering the boredom it incited! He had done this practice for 3 hours in the real world with his gem next on the coffee table near the candle. It had got late and Joseph fell asleep during this exercise and that brought him here.
For now he was in solitude in the astral plain and he opted to give this all his attention until he had company, which he hoped would not come in the form of Beerus, who had entered the realm when Joseph was doing this at a previous date and the Hakishin would not care to come to this setting a second time.

The primordial fell into another deep meditative trance that took him far far into the deep dive of the astral realm. This like so many others times was a habitual habit as the prince never needed to sleep... his mind however had other plans for when he spent his time meditating, this was his way of relaxing, swirling in the abyss of the astral until a world was either created by him, the astral realm or he wandered his consciousness into the realm of another. It was here that his body manifested, it was a simple world, dark... empty except for the lone flame of a wax candle and the body of a young man. How curious... this was indeed very different from his usual encounters and it almost made him chuckle aloud. Instead the prince only put his hands inside his pockets and slowly made his way toward the boy and the flame.

The boy realized that he was no longer solitaire inside the void once the demonic prince had entered the plain. He recognized it as one people assembled by Tarble who was known as the "True King." When the primordial emerged and began approaching Joseph took his eyes to the camera to look at the demon prince. "Hello," Joseph said with his usual sangfroid tone and emotionless visage.
Joseph continued looking at the demon that closed in on person and the flame taking in the sight of him, scrutinizing his appearance, his posture, his aura. It was always a different beast to read into a being inside the astral plain. In the non physical plain people tended to emerge in their top form as well as tended to be immaculate. There didn't seem to be cases of people took the tolls of their endeavors with them . The child didn't really have anything else to say to Azazel and left it to him to carry the conversation.

Ahhh the strong silent type Azazel thought to himself as he took his time strolling up toward where Joseph sat, an interesting way to spend your time in the astral realm... meditating or whatever it was the boy was doing. As he approached the prince casually pulled a cigar from the inner pocket of his jacket, biting off the end before he placed it into the corner of his mouth and placed the tip of his left index finger toward the end. The cigar lit, smoke billowing out of the corners of the fallen ones mouth as he shook his finger to extinguish the flame. He recognized the person now, he had been present during Tarble's little rendezvous session for potential recruits into his empire. He had a little bit of power to him, a power that could be cultivated and grown given sufficient time and ample opportunity. But none of that was the princes concern as he waved his right hand and manifested a chair next to the boy, the legs of the seat creaking as his body sat and sank into the plush material of the chair. Azazel exhaled once more, the musky aroma of his cigar filling the void as he pulled a silver flask from the other pocket of his coat. The dark lord unscrewed the lid and placed it to his lips as he removed his cigar and took a small sip of the amber liquor.
This was all pretty relaxing he thought, the quite void in the blackness of nothing... it soothed the mind. Almost absent minded Azazel lowered his right arm that held the flask and nudged the boys shoulder, offering a sip of the amber liquid without so much as a word. Drawing on his cigar once more he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. If Joseph did not wish to speak, what would he a being born before creation have to say to him? Sometimes words only complicated things...

The boy's eyes followed Azazel as he came and positioned himself next to the young martial artist, although one's wear accumulated through the day did not carry over the metaphysical plain, predilections did indeed, although the ancient man being a smoker was nothing new he had already seen him smoking during Tarble's gathering. With a shake of beings finger, the flame was extinguished making the void go pitch black.
Joseph would have preferred to have had the candle continue going to continue his mindfulness meditation, but he not only to bothered with undoing minor discrepancies to his plains, even if they were from rather imprudent and uncouth forces. He decided to change his plan, and instead of meditating on a flame decided to meditate on the scent of the smoke and the alcohol, the creaking sound made by the chair as well as the sound of his exhaling.
The train of thought meant disruption when the demon nudged his shoulder, Joseph turned his head seeing that he was being offered a drink, he was underage for such a drink, but he wondered if that law applied to the astral plain which was essentially a lucid dream. And he was curious. He wondered if his mother would care if he drank here. The boy made a point to be prompt, thinking it would be rude to go too long without an answer; "No thank you," Joseph said. He was curious and was open to the prospect of trying alcohol, but he didn't want to consume something to cloud his thinking. He didn't desire a possible detriment to his meditative processes or putting his mind to the task of reading into the curious primordial being. He'd sit in the dark, meditating and focusing on how the demon proceeded his senses; listening to the sounds he made, the scents he exuded, and feeling his movements disturb the air, and watching him best as could be managed out the corner of his eye in the dark

Azazel's offer of a drink had been turned down, the candle having been extinguished seemed to leave the void realm in a state of perpetual darkness. The fallen ones supernatural vision however did not need light to see, as he did no need air or sustenance to survive. It was interesting, this mortal was naive? Innocent? Solely focused on his studies of mental prowess to improve his abilities? Maybe he had some preconceived notion of good and evil like most of the short lived and fleeting creatures that populated the cosmos. It did not really matter to the prince though as he tapped the ash from his cigar upon the floor of the dark manifested world, the cooling embers of the cigar cooling as they sizzled upon the ground. Azazel grinned to himself as he studied the profile of the young man, taking a swig of his flask before putting the cap back on and placing it inside his coat pocket. He supposed the kid was not much for words and that was fine with him, though if they were going to be working together in the future he would need to surely understand these creatures better... or they would surely become like broken play things so easily discarded. Chuckling Azazel stood without a word, the chair dematerializing as did so, his cigar dropping to the ground he stepped on the fine tobacco and extinguished its flame. He would leave the boy to himself for now, there would be time for fun in the future.

Joseph found that he was hardly had time to sit and analyze the great demon, before he rose from his seat and took his leave. He heard the demon take a swig of his beverage and put it way in his jacket, feeling the bits of ember ashen to the ground and cool off, before having a quick chuckle either at his expense or from some other thoughts that came to the demon's mind. The kid found appreciation for the spectacle in moves he made to prior to his departure although, the abrupt nature of his exit played at the primal mortal fear of the unknown. The boy sat with his legs crossed meditating, his roving mind thinking the demon and the possibilities future interactions with the primordial could entail, finding them to be both interesting yet dismal.
