"Hm," it was a noncommital sound that Juch made as Barkley went on to explain her drive to learn; more so to show that he was listening to her than to offer anything.
"Do you feel like you do not belong?" he murmured as he looked over the empty alleyway, "Generally there's some sort of catalyst for this sort of self discovery."
"Are you looking for the part of you that isn't human?"

"Yes, because I don't know what I am supposed to be. I do feel like I don't belong. Ah, you are a smart guy. That's good."
She smiled and took another bite of the congee. She was almost finished. "Are you the one I could come to to help me find myself?"

"Hm, I see," his fingers criss-crossed, intertwining with each other underneath his chin as he peered over the glasses towards her. Even though Juch's eyes remained closed, it seemed that he was studying her with more intensity than before.
"Well, I appreciate the compliment. I would like to pose a question to you, however: why should I help you? Because I know your father, for example?"

"That wouldn't be fair. Just because you know my father gives you no motive to help me out." She finally finished her congee. "I just thought it would be interesting, is all. What do you really do here, Mr. Juch?"

Juch offered a smile at Barkley's assertion. Perhaps it wouldn't be fair, but the fact that she made a note of it did speak to her character, "I'm not ruling such a possibility out," he remarked with a chuckle, "I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter."
"As for me and what I do..." he trailed off before looking back at the redhead, "Well, what do you know with regards to that so far?"

"Absolutely...." She started before pointing her used chopsticks directly at him with a grin. "Nothing. I never asked my dad about what you did."

"Hoh?" Interesting," Juch's smile widened a bit, "You only asked about my appearance then?"

"Yup! Sometimes as a kid you are just fascinated by the simplest of things." She said while looking toward the waiter as he brought her receipt. "So, would you like to eat? I'll treat you, I guess. Since I do want to talk a little longer."
