So ADBZ is 19 years old as of June 1st, as I originally created the site back in June 2000. Version 5 was created in June 2006. Considering ADBZ is now nearly 20 years old I wanted to see if you guys would share when and how you first found ADBZ (if you remember)? Share your stories!
I will start off why I created the site: I was tired of RPGs that I was playing closing, only for my hard work to go to waste. First I joined DB Zento and it closed shortly after I joined. Then I was playing a site called Alpha Kogecki, and it too closed down just a few months after I joined. I decided to create my own site and then vowed to never close it so that this wouldn't happen again and so far I've stuck to that vow despite many, many RPGs coming and going during this site's life.

Google search. Joined in summer of 07. There were a few ups and downs throughout. I tried to create a couple of my own, both dbz and non-dbz but never finished the creation phase. Finally, after a 5 year break, I'm back, drama free this time.

Looking back, I think I found this site either searching the Dragonball RP Dragonball Z Ultimate Journey or looking for a way to download the MMO Dragonball Online. At first I didn't whether this was a game like DB online or a play by post. Then I read up on the site, made a character and join form, and now I've been here for almost 4 years.

Back in about 05-06 when I was in college and looking to get in some DBZ writing. I'd done a few RPGs before that and just got into the whole writing up RPs. I had some down time between classes and searched on google for a new place to play. Didn't take long after reading some of the mechanics on this for me to sign up. I joined as Chibi Trunks and just had a blast taking him semi seriously.

I first joined ADBZ in the summer of 2012, shortly after my daughter was born. In high school I had done a couple of other text based RPGs, another DBZ, a Yu Yu Hakusjo, and a couple of different Zoids ones, but had gotten away from it until my mid 20s. Truth be told, despite becoming a father, I was actually going through a real low point in my life. I had made a couple of very poor (and illegal, lol) decisions that led to being unemployed, separating from my child's mother, moving back in with my parents, and was even facing some serious jail time (which I got off on a technicality). RPing turned out to be just the distraction I needed in what was a very dark time for me. I've since completely turned my life around, in case you were wondering. I have a fantastic relationship with my daughter who just turned 7, I have a great career, and I'm engaged to a wonderful woman with whom I intend to spend the rest of my life with, as she makes an incredible lasagna. ADBZ for life!

I can't remember exactly how I found the site. Maybe an affiliate link, maybe I was just searching dragon ball sites for a fun writing time.
Found version 5 while I was in uni in 2010. Like I said, I don't remember exactly how...maybe I should go and see what I said on my app back then.

found this back in late 2000. Was cruising through other rpgs when I found it off one of the voting sights. Not sure what made me think of it 18 years later, but i google searched and found it again. Not dissapointed at how its changed

Christmas of '07 or '08 I was looking for an online DBZ game and I found ADBZ. At first it was super confusing, but I spent hours creeping thru the forum and website and understood it wasn't your traditional game. Eventually I decided to give it a go and join. Mind you I was 12-13 years old and had never written creatively before, and I ended up creating this custom human called Boku (super creative name, betcha can't tell me where I got my inspiration from). Needless to say the whole backstory was trash, as was my writing. Back then the community was full on savage and they tore me several new assholes in my join form cuz my writing was trash. I also didn't deal with the criticism well at the time and made a lot of "enemies". But it lit a fire in me and got me seriously into writing. Over the years I've joined and been active for a few months and then eventually disappeared, as most of us have done and continue to do so. I've been Boku, Zorn, Goku Jr, Dante Amano, Vlad Draculesti, Janix Mido, Veritas, Future Trunks and the latest, Kaen. I'm MIA right now, but as always...  |

Found this back way way back in 2012... made an account then never did anything. I had sworn off forum RPG's after my long long stint at Chubbs DBZ RPG and how that all went down. Found may way back in late 2017. Glad to be a part of the community and strive to try and make it better.

Fall/Winter of '10, seen the rpg back in 2000 but I was a athlete and cared more about girls than computers anymore and paid no attention to it. Served in the army and enjoyed Hawaii and Iraq for a few years. In summer of '10 I decided to get out and enjoyed some the summer in Texas, then in the fall my television was stolen and I had already reread every book and series I owned (last one being the Inheritance series by C. Paolini, dope ass writer, and the idea I had to link my character with an innate dragon) and joined from there. Seta was numero uno but hardly around, and then shortly after her being gone Vier was defeated and I took a number 1 power seat for a year or so running- rage quit a few times, drunkenly acted a fool. I love this community and the acceptance of everyone, the stories and development of characters. It is a place that has helped fostered and molded (at least a piece of me) into who I am today- especially as a writer. So yea, ADBZ 4 life!

I was in high school around '10 when I had to start writing stories for English, never really got into it but did enjoy certain parts of the assignments. I have always been into dragon ball as well as other anime so I took to google to find an rpg. I was new to the internet and thought this was actually going to be a MMORPG, but when I started to click around and look realized it was just text based. I decided to join around the summer of 10 and was extremely active until october of 12. I ended up enlisting in the USMC and pretty much came back whenever I could. I got out after a little over 5 years and ended up having my surgeries and a shit ton of time. This was the first place I came back to. ADBZ, even though there has been drama, has been one of the best places and where I met some of my best friends IRL.
