"This infernal contraption?" Vegeta scoffed as Cilan handed him a telepathic gem.
"It'll only help you with your training and rehabilitation, my lord," the caretaker replied. "Just give it a try."
Vegeta preferred face to face confrontations, not meetings in the Astral realm. He did understand however that in order to put himself back to his former glory, he couldnt then down any form of training. He closed his eyes, wrapped his fist around the gem, and was whisked away to place that felt like home, and yet, foreign and artificial at the same time.
"What do we have here?" The Saiyan prince asked as his eyes fixated on a figure roaming the halls. It was humanoid, and yet, not quite. Artificial, similar to the setting he found himself in. "An android?" His eyes squinted as he looked the figure up and down.

The knight figure registered the presence of another shortly before the prince captivated by feeling the imaginary machines around them networking with them as the highest marvel of the synth his neural net touched the surrounding complex its corridors passage ways of his own mind, its complex circuits he mapped as if they were his own. what was seconds for organics an eternity for the advanced processes of the artificial mind quite expansive now. "Saiyan nobility." he spoke with a hard to read acknowledgement of the station of the organic. he was a rather known ally of his brother and a rep of Avalon who prevented the assassination of the ambassadors as well as thwarting a terrorist plot on Vegeta. not only a general destructive plot but one involving a total regicide as well as a whipping of the existing order. the disgraced earned elite limburger crossed and betrayed by the blue bloods and nobles so that any who shared in the conspiracy or bowed their head to the king the cyborg intended to decapitate and stuff into potato sacks.
Vlad gave a respectful salute of the protectorate fist to his Heart. "Greeting eldest legacy to the warrior throne." Again semi monotone and more mater of fact acknowledgement not reverence or fear.
Vegeta's memory had been fuzzy to say the least since his mysterious accident had wiped him of both his strength and recollection of recent events. This android that stood before him seemed familiar, although for exactly what reason, he was unsure. The prince didnt make a habit of getting to know too many synthetic organisms. The Saiyans were a race of highly skilled warriors. Vegeta in particular always felt that a machine couldnt do the job of a man. But, he had been surprised in the past.
This android in particular seemed to know him, although that didn't surprise him much. He was a prince, next in line to inherit the throne of the greatest warrior race the universe had ever seen. Vegeta was something of a celebrity in his own right. Still though, he was getting the impression that this android knew him on a slightly more personal level, more than just for his notoriety. The android was respectful in his greeting.
"You look familiar, android," Vegeta replied. "Do you have a name? Model number? Bar code I can scan?" He chuckled at his own joke. "Have we met before?"

"your power scared off a rebellion hatching disgraced saiyan Limburger who was set up and betrayed by your counsels earlier members what he called blue bloods jealous of his swift rise from bottom stock to royal aid when those of noble birth should be solely elevated as high as he was, royal guard. he was plotting to kill me and dragging the ambassador to the palace before pulling his spine out. your power drawing near and his ill prepared state to face your power had him hop back in his jammer craft." he described the event where he nearly met him.
"Our paths may made a few passes since then, but I am a close supporter of your brother Tarble, I am Vlad an advanced task force leader of the protectorate." Vlad elevated one side of his mouth "also not the worst robot/artificial product joke I heard, nice one." the room began rearranging itself into a more modular shape like setting a table onto a flipping panel into the floor melting its feet into the steel. "may not be the nicest looking modifications but its functional for formal to informal." he spoke of the room rearranging hinting he did it without so much as raising a finger. an artificial entity with akin to telekinetic capabilities.
"Well, that definitely sounds like me," Vegeta replied with a grin, taking pride in his past deeds. The android went on to identify himself as Vlad, a name that rang a bell, but the connection was something more akin a weird dream more than anything else. Whatever kind of relationship the two had held in the past was more or less null, a new one would have to be forged.
"Ill tell you right now, my baby brother and I arent much alike," Vegeta went on. "He has his own agenda with this new fangled 'Oath Empire,' whatever he was going on about. We'll see how that pans out. Though, We do share a certain level of discontempt for our father."
Just then, the mechanized room began to shift, although there were no audible sounds of gears turning, machines purring, no electronics to control its movements. It didnt take Vegeta long to realize that it was Vlad pulling the strings. "Interesting trick," Vegeta commented with his arms folded across his chest. "Tell me, android, what else can you do?"

He tilted his head in response. "Your father has a very storied history of accomplishment and he continues to govern to ways even members of the Avalonian court would begrudgingly compliment. tho his presence on battle fields has become less pronounced. may I inquire if that is one you take umbrage with? not leading from the front as he used to? or perhaps you question some of his projects he dedicated the resources of your empire to?" the android took a few guesses of what of their father could rub him the wrong way
Out of what he recalled Vegeta was not one for personality Neither he nor his father were ones to suffer fools gladly. both very aware that the more "Civilized" of galactic culture regarded saiyans with bewilderment as a clan of raiders, pillagers, slavers in an age of machine labor. To wit Vlad would agree in better to have a tireless tool immune to disease doing labor that breaks down the body so long as the tool is just a tool, unfortunately more then a few did not mind "slaves" of a mechanical stripe.
Vlad nodded "my advanced probability matrix and neural readouts can effectively mirror telepathy in a bio brain. the zero point energy I showed off. able to link to this realm without a medium or gem, communicate over star systems with others. more commercial capabilities I have advanced self repair and ki emulation systems. I have a current operational power of 418,046 with three tiers of overclock, inhibitor release, and hyper mode. not as flashy as your organic higher state unlock but functional multipliers all the same. I have a supercomputer for a brain so allot of utility integrating with other machines and vast data store capacity. top of the line sensors, Could likely print out a list of all hereditary diseases you may watch out for. and as a field agent of a secular peace keeping arm of the protectorate got a reliable supply of resources and manpower behind me, vets of the great and ork wars is that satisfactory, Prince?."
he smiled.

"A good leader should lead," Vegeta answered with a spark in his eye. The android had hit the nail right on the head. "Especially a ruler of the most powerful warrior race the universe has ever known." Vegeta took such pride in being a Saiyan, one who would one day lead his people into a new era of dominance. At least, that was the plan.
Vlad went on to explain the upgrades and mechanical capabilities that he had been integrated with. "So that's the difference between you and a dishwasher?" Vegeta once again joked. "The universe is rapidly evolving, my father understands that just as I do. The age of the single warrior is coming to an end. A new era is rising. One where a warrior will have to adapt to survive. There is a place in this new age for machines like you, android. I'm interested to see a demonstration of what you can bring to the table."

"A lead from the front like Julius Caesar type." vlad felt sure that while a human general may by power be laughably inadequate to the warrior prince statistically he had a respectable knowing of how to handle warfare given the limitations of the average human. managed to make himself stand out where ki was a foreign concept. and if nothing else a leader who was always on the field with his men when he could be well into what many of the age would consider late age. a leader so respected his stand out apparel would rejuvenate his mens morale simply knowing he was on the field with them.
Vegeta holds a high position as next in line to the throne, Vlad did not doubt his intelligence, to know from history of all races never pass up a new learned approach even war lords of spaces share the knowledge is power, so long as it is a greater warlord then a small forced labor outpost. Empires are not run by mindless warmongers. at least not those that can last long especially in an age of rapid communication across star systems. expansionism and ferocity can only go so far if that's all an empire has going for it. knowing how to maintain what you lay claim to is better then just snatching up a fancy gun and clips but no idea how to maintain the weapon, better is the force that is capable of reverse engineering not just repairing and maintaining.
a foolish leader is one who devalues a craft just because they do not practice it. and those who burn the books and kill chroniclers and other studious sorts. well that's a self destruction cake ready to be eaten.
vlad plucked out a needle from his side sending it flying centimeters over the princes shoulder bolting a fly to a stone. "advanced targeting system and precision limb control. one display of a few features I have.
vlad shifted his pose into a spar ready stance. "unless your preference for seeing what one has is mutual combat exercise."
