So as we all likely know beam struggles as currently applied have made using beams rather impossible if not obsolete. The idea as discussed was and is still believed good with the advantage system, but the application was wrongly applied.
After discussion with Chaos (the person who made the system), Yan, Azazel and myself we are implementing a temporary fix to this problem, that once we see it in action or get some feedback to it will likely be added to the patch. This change is a Hot Fix and should be followed in all battles for now unless otherwise stated by an Admin in this topic.
The fix is simple and what was meant to be applied. This only applies to Beams for now. Blasts are still canceled as they have been with this new system.
The new phase of the Beam struggle is going to be known as Adding Ki. This is for the first person to fire the beam only. In this time the user of the first beam can add in Ki to his attack. This will not add DR, but what it will do is give the attack more Ki to overcome the Ki Used Advantage. If this Add Ki Phase is used it also counts to Enhancing the tech to cancel out that advantage.
Now for the practical application of this.
Player A is Fighting Player B and they are for this battle at the exact same PL.of 1 Million
Player A fires a Dark Kamehameha Wave (DR 6, Ki 10%) (Not Charged, PL: 1,220,000)
Player B takes his response to fire Empowered Death Ray (DR: 10, Ki 20%, PL: 2,220,00 )
In the Current System as being used: Player B would have PL, Ki Used, DR, Enhanced, Tech Rank Advantage. Giving him 5 Advantages Pending RP Reward.
With the Adding Ki Phase for Player A though. He now Adds 11% Ki to his attack. This gives him 21% Ki taking the Ki Used Advantage and now his tech is enhanced negating the Enhanced. He goes from 5 (maybe 6 Disadvantages and 150% Damage and No Block or Dodge) to now 3 Disadvantages, 1 Negated, 1 Advantage and Pending RP Reward. This means he has 2 Disadvantages. This could go to only 1 if he wins RP Reward or up to 3 if he loses. Still that would be 90% Undodgeable, but able to be blocked (still can be done) or 50% Very Hard to Dodge Tech. It is believed this will make using beams more viable.
Now I know what you are thinking.... What about in closer situations?
Same 2 Fighters as before:
Player A Fires a Charged Makenso (DR 10, Ki 19%, PL: 2,190,000)
Player B Responds with Charged Galick Gun (DR 10, Ki 20%, PL: 2,200,000)
In this situation, Player B has Ki and PL Advantage Only.
Player A Now Adds Ki 2% Ki into his attack pushing it to 21% and giving him 2,210,000 PL on the attack (that part will change with Ki Used per Finisher and Advanced parts). Now he has 2 Advantages with RP Pending. He could go from 3 Disadvantages to 3 Advantages or just 1 Advantage.
Still After the Struggle is resolved, the player that is at a disadvantage gets a defensive action. So even if Player A loses like in situation 1, he could still utilize a block or dodge action. His Add Ki Phase is just to help him defend. In Situation 2 even though Player B started the struggle, he will get a chance to defend from losing the struggle with a block or dodge or tech defense action.
As stated this is the temporary Hot Fix in testing for Beam Struggles. If you have questions please ask in private (Yan, Myself or Azazel). Changes that come up or clarifications that need to be made will be add to this thread only.
