Scorch shifted in his sleep. The hard floor of the Dan-Boku’s medical room was rough on his back as he tried to sleep. Three long weeks he had been recovering among the wreckage of the ship he had stowed away on. Three long weeks he had gone without a bed, but his strength had nearly returned. His sleep was more fitful, and easily disturbed.
Scorch lifted his head, and blinked as he looked around. Something had caught his attention while sleeping. It was, he looked around, scanning the area. His eyes showed him nothing, but then he felt it: Power. It was faint, and getting weaker.
He would eventually venture out, and roam the wilds of Frieza, eventually stowing away on a ship and being caught. Arrested, and sentenced to execution, Scorch fought his way free of his cell. Killing several members of the ship’s crew. He was approached by several of the ships fighters, and was forced to destroy them. However, the fight caused major damage to the ship. The remaining crew, were unable to repair it, and turned the ship back around to Frieza in order to effect repairs.

Scorch lifted his head, and blinked as he looked around. Something had caught his attention while sleeping. It was, he looked around, scanning the area. His eyes showed him nothing, but then he felt it: Power. It was faint, and getting weaker.
Scorch stood slowly, his blood had not quite recovered, and he was still susceptible to getting light headed if he stood too quickly. Slowly, he sensed his way into one of the partially intact corridors of the Dan-Boku and stopped when he reached a door, pierced from the inside out, by an overhead beam. Reaching out to beam, Scorch set his feet, and put what was left of his shoulder armor into the beam’s end, and heaves.
The beam moves, slowly. It takes Scorch several minutes to move the beam, but after exerting himself far more than his weakened state should allow, he was able to force the doors open. The form of the grey skinned alien on the other side, was nearly lifeless. Working slowly, he drug the alien out of the room, and back down the corridor to the ruined Medical Bay.
As he reached down to consume the remaining power of the near death alien beneath him, an idea occurring to Scorch. Any creature that can survive 3 weeks in this state, without treatment, and still able to generate a power on the level he felt, was worth trying to save. This is assuming the creature was willing to swear absolute allegiance to Scorch, that is.
Scorch knelt slowly with an injector, filled with a small cocktail of healing medicines. A Far cry from modern healing and regeneration techniques, but seeing as the Regeneration Pods were in the destroyed section of the Med Bay, the injection was the only option. Filled with several of the same medicines that he used to stabilize himself after the crash, Scorch showed mercy for the first time in his life, and what he sincerely hoped would be his last.
‘Everything serves a purpose, after all.’
Biography:
Scorch, while born a changeling, was not born into one of the wealthy, powerful families owing allegiance directly or indirectly to the Colds. Born to Ferri (Mother), and Vulcanis (Father), Scorch was raised by his mother alone. They lived in the wilds of Frieza, in a network of underground thermal caves. With the Cold Family effectively ruling all of Frieza, even naming the planet after one of their family, the Heat family was relegated to a position of subservience.
Vulcanis was never a strong fighter, barely achieving his first transformation, and died in service of the Frieza Force shortly after the birth of Scorch. As he grew up, Scorch watched as his 3 older siblings (Sear, Flaris, Magmis) all enter into service of the Frieza Force, and each of them was killed in battle in turn.
As he grew up, Ferri kept Scorch sheltered from the Frieza Force. Hoping to save her last child from the same fate, Ferri was very careful to avoid anything that could resemble the combat arts. Over time, he would begin to feel the fire deep within. The desire to experience combat, began to overtake Scorch as he began to near physical maturity.
This is when Scorch struck again, flying into a rage he tortured the captain of the ship, and eventually killed the remaining crew, all while making the Captain watch as he brutally disemboweled the man’s crew. Scorch had unlocked his bloodlust. As the ship’s pre-programmed course brought it near to Frieza, the planets gravity drew it down, and the ship crashed.
Scorch spent several weeks in the wilds, recovering. While recovered, he happened upon another survivor that he had missed. Scorch almost killed the young alien, when he found him, but realized that he had fighting potential that was, not insignificant in comparison to Scorch. Eventually the alien would disclose his name to Scorch, Rex. Rex would pledge to follow Scorch around, in exchange for power and glory.
