Hayami looked at the walls around her apartment and wondered about how much longer she'd have to recover. It had been a long time since she had expanded so much magical energy, and the girl wondered just what she was gonna do with her time. Well, she guessed another talk with Yan would do. She closed her eyes and drifted out, and back to the chalk board and study room. The usual signal went out to the Commander.

Yan was just sitting down to his own cup of tea when Hayami called. It was midday on Kelioux, the most boring part of the day and he was debating crashing one of Anna or Barkley’s classes. He liked asking absurd question in Professor Rondown’s class that usually got him kicked out and scolded. For Barkley’s he was more attentive, until he usually fell asleep in the middle of them. Life on Kelioux, so dry.
So he was happy for Hayami’s call, and took it, but his nose did scrunch up when he saw the chalkboard, even though it was typical these days.
“So much studying...” he said more to himself.

"Not so much today," The Celestial said as she flipped the board and showed him a finished alchemy circle. "I'm drained of a lot of magical energy because I've gotten a basic circle complete." She looked back at the red haired demon with a bit of a smile. "I'm pretty sure I warned you that I need to rest when I use a lot of magic energy, right?" She waved her hand and the room changed.
Back to the usual room, with the table and snacks already formed, with her usual kinds of tea set out. "So lets just talk. It's been a while since we did so without study materials, right?"

“Yay~” Yan let out cheerfully as the study room disappeared, before snickering at his own childishness. “I’ve been on Kelioux too long,” he said to explain himself. “Between Adel and Anna and everyone else it’s just research and study and even fighting is about the martial art and technique.”
‘And everyone else,’ he still found habit in not mentioning Barkley specifically. Very few people tied to him knew anything about her. If they did it was because they built a tie to her. Even Juch was short on details except for what he learned from the girl himself.
“I wish Addy would go back to telling me to kill things...”

"Now, now," Hayami said with a short sigh, "Not everything is about killing." Studying was important, but she guessed that Yan was probably older than what his face showed. He was too experienced in different subjects for her to think otherwise. "Wasn't it you who spoke to me about parenthood?" It sounded like he had a kid or something, but she never stated it out loud.
"I mean, with how much you've talked to me about sex, I think you have a kid or two," she explained, before she tilted her head, "But I wouldn't know if you have one right now at the age of going to an academy, do you?" Did Yan just give out that information?

Yan noticeably pouted at her scolding even though it was mostly in jest. When she brought up parenthood so quickly after, his eyebrow rose in a mix of curious confusion. When she explained, his brow immediately furrowed.
“Safe sex,” he corrected her. “I have never impregnated a woman through sexual intercourse, thank you very much. There was one awkward situation with a man, but that turned out to be a false positive.” He seemed quite indignant on this point, which should have made sense to the girl considering his solemn conversations with her on the topic of parenthood. He warned her to be careful because the responsibility of a creating another life couldn’t be taken lightly. The way he spoke said he definitely didn’t take it so lightly he’d have kids all over the place.
“On that point though, I do bed a lot of teachers,” he said leaning back, still seeming insulted. “Adel, Juch, Anna, Samara, T...” he trailed off realizing she probably didn’t need a list. He might not have been a father figure to her but he doubted she really wanted to see him as a man either.
His wording was careful, but it wasn’t like one would expect someone to steal his DNA and create a child, would they?
“Thing about teachers at the academy is that they’re all still studying something. That’s the way of a scholar.”

"Yeah, safe sex," she replied quite dryly. It wasn't like she wasn't always careful about it. Part of that, her desire to keep Daji and herself safe, was to make sure that they were ready for children. Now was not the time, after all. Hayami's eyebrow rose at the list, as she tilted her head. She was going to make a smart ass comment about how the amount of people you slept with didn't make you a man, but decided Yan was not in the mood for that.
"Studying is important," she said before she sat at the table and drew out the alchemy circle. She had a cup of tea there for her, that changed into a cup of golden liquid. "I could make quite the mint on Earth with this fake gold, but I'm a bit too ethical for that." She said fake, but it was "gold" by the elemental table on Earth. She just considered it fake.
"And you know I wouldn't try to make another life with Daji until we're both ready. How many times have I said it after we had our rendezvous?" Why was he all upset over this subject? She narrowed her eyes in confusion at Yan, clearly trying to figure out his mood.

He bobbed his head from side to side at her point of studying being important half mocking it but not denying it. It was very important on a lot of subjects. She got a little huffy as she continued though, taking his being offended to be more about her than it was.
“I trust you with that,” he said simply. Since he had that conversation with her, he really hadn’t had to have it again. Hayami knew what bad parenting could do to a kid and she also knew what it was like to not have good support systems growing up. If she wasn’t ready, things could go very bad for the person she wanted the best for. He trusted her, and since then she had matured greatly. If there was an ‘accident’ now, he felt somewhat more assured things wouldn’t be completely doomed. Though that did not mean he would take such news in a happy mature stride if it did happen.
“You really imagine me with a kid?” he asked her, bringing the subject back to where it belonged: on himself. It was the idea of him specifically having a child that got him wound up. He looked away from her as he asked it, seeming deeply troubled by the mere notion of it all. And he was. Everyday.
