Kotarou looked out and into the vastness of space. It was a rather large area of black, and the ride towards the Keliouxian planet would take a long while. With his reconnection to the Star Wolves, he was able to attain several..."appropriated"...items of interest. One of them was an auto-piolate, loving stolen- err, borrowed- from the Avalanian ship that had been raided by the Freiza Force. So he decided to check in with Tapion, within the world of the gem.
The demon flipped the switch and closed his eyes as the pirate allowed the gem to absorb his mind. He landed on the outside of the Temple of the Lost, a place that the demon would be spending quite a long time in. He waited patiently for his fellow Freiza Force ally to arrive.

Sensing a calling from the ethereal plane, a place he liked to refer to as The Place, Tapion leaned against the wall in his stateroom aboard Frieza's ship and slid down to the floor. He hung his head low and allowed the pull of The Place to whisk his consciousness away. After being sped down a whirling tunnel of shapes and colors he was deposited in a location that looked like some sort of temple, though he wasn't immediately familiar with the exact location.
A few paces away stood one of his newest acquaintances, Kotarou. "I've seen something like this before," he said, nodding towards the temple. "Is this Lost architecture?"

"Indeed," Kotarou replied, a smile on his face. "How fare you and Freiza?" As Tapion would come to find out, Kotarou didn't use the tag of Lord unless the Changeling Prince was around. He preferred things to be less formal between companions. He then looked at the cave and commented, "If you ask me, the Lost seemed pretty interested in demons. If they weren't an ancient race of demons themselves."
The demon shoved his arms in his pockets before he looked back at Tapion. "I hope there's no ill will between us, being what races we are?" He hoped for a positive answer, but he was ready for a different one. Just because they both worked for Freiza didn't mean that they had to get along.

"As well as one can expect in a tin-can," he jested. Kota suggested that the Lost may have been demons themselves, prompting a chuckle from the Cleric. "I actually am inclined to agree. I have always found it curious that their culture showed little signs of Celestial interaction, myself. Why that is, who could ever know."
Flipping the conversation on its head, Kotarou brought up a subject that Tapion knew would be broached eventually. The matter of their respective origins. The Konatsu turned his gaze from the Temple and onto the demon before him. "Trust me when I say that it matters not to me what your nature is. I was not born of the celestial race, and so I was not indoctrinated by their hate of your ilk. I have met demons of many walks of life, from loving mothers with dark secrets to homeless beggars. I see nothing to hate about you, personally, and so I choose not to."

The demon grinned at his responses- they were good. The jest allowed the demon a chuckle, as he had once thought the Konatsu pretty dry. Turns out all he needed to do was get him in an area by himself, without Freiza around.
With what Tapion said about his origin, the wolf demon tilted his head. "Oh? I had no heard your history before. Forgive my assumptions." He bowed before he grinned, "Besides, I was once one of those low life. I was not born a demon. I'm a rebirth, corrupted, one could say. By ill wishes. I don't regret what I did before, though. A dark phoenix, risen from the ashes on Arlia." He brought a hand out and looked it over. "Not as hairy as I used to be. Used to be far more wolf-like. I hope this appearance looks better. I like you Tapion- platonically, of course."
Okay, the two weren't that close, but he hoped Tapion understood.

Drawn in by the brief glimpse of the demon's past Tapion found himself laughing heartily as Kota finished his monologue. He held his belly and wiped the corner of his eye. "I appreciate that, Kotarou. Truthfully, it would seem we are more alike than we might either have thought. We were picked - chosen - for a role in which we were not born. I think, maybe in a way, that makes us less like our relatives than some of them would have us believe. To be conceived is one thing, any demon can produce an heir just as any celestial can procreate. To be chosen, though? That is something different entirely, and it seems we share that."
He stopped and looked wistfully at the ground before kneeling and grabbing a handful. As he let the granules of sand fall between his fingers he glanced at his friend. "Who do you suppose created this dimension? For it to bear such allegiance to our own, one would assume the artist is one and the same, no? But if that is true, is the same entity responsible for the heavens and the underworld? Our kind would lead us to think that we are different, but if we all come from the same creator, then how could we really be different at all?"

"Do you really think it was all one creator? What about fate or destiny, instead of just chosen?" Kotarou tilted his head. "As a demon, I am told that Lucifer himself is a Celestial. Who can say who, or what made this realm. It can take the shape of our choosing, sometimes it might be molded midway through. One can imagine living people, or desolated ruin. A future or a past. A drop in time."
He paused and leaned down to grasp at his own handful, now crouched on the tips of his feet. "We can even feel pain and be wiped from this place. Maybe it was a failed version of our universe. My personal thoughts used to be that this is the result of a failed experiment on Kannasa. The fact that one can attain a more solid experience from one of their techniques, rather than a gem most of the universe uses... does it not have a compelling ring, if one removes the religions of the worlds?"
He paused and then sat back, his back against the cave. "It could also be that this place has a darker origin. Like many fairy tales that these days have been softened up. I don't have enough knowledge to say what I think these days. It's why I became a Scholar. I wanted to know more about this universe." Not something he had told Freiza, but he guessed that the Changeling wouldn't be interested in that.

Tapion listened with earnest to the demon's thoughts. He took not one for granted, paying close attention. He'd misread the man for a simple warrior, but now the Konatsu had little doubt that Kotarou was indeed one of the reknowned Keliouxian Scholars. He stood and leaned heavily against the cave wall. "I've always wondered, personally, if The Place - this place, that is - had anything to do with the Lost. I've also considered whether it was with them that the answers we speak of lie. Who can know for sure, besides the Gods themselves?" he mused. "You are... something more than expected. I believe I am happy to call you friend, Kotarou."
