"Look, I was..." Hayami started to count on her fingers, "Three months old at the time? I was ignorant and dumb at the time," she leaned forward and said," Besides, Tomoko was with me at that time. Also, if I remember right, so was that succubus." She sounded quite irritated about the mention of Lilim. She then sat back when he did, and she thought about it.
"It's not like the Shadowguard would just let me through, though, right?" She looked at him quite seriously. "It's not like I'm that high ranking. Plus I'm pretty sure the Shadowguard just think I'm a secretary now with a military rank." And that she was either mia or something. She wasn't sure what his excuse was.
"Well, maybe we'll come through and be at the right place for the family. Otherwise we'll have to look for 'em." She hadn't said no, but she thought about it. He was rather angry not that long ago, or upset? Yan could be upset at her about the thing, but she was really young when it happened. Blind, dump, and just did as she was told by her mother. How was she supposed to know anything?

“Lilim was my ride,” Yan replied with a grin. It faded into a kinder smile. “I’m teasing though. The whole thing was such a mess during and after,” he explained with a small shake of his head the true target of his ire identified. Hayami’s actions hadn’t helped, but either had anyone else’s and somehow, the freshly made Shadowguard Yan Cass had to clean everything up.
“It was how I got my first promotion though,” he added, the annoyance fading to his normal look of mischief, as if he had taken advantage of the mess towards some bigger dastardly plan. He had.
“No, they’re getting more and more picky with who they send since people don’t come back,” he said with a closed eyed smile as if he hadn’t just said something extremely ominous. “I’ve been trying to get permission to form my own squadron to go in, but politics are not in my favor these days, and it ends up more effort than I care to give.”

"Ah, that was her name," Hayami muttered under her breath. She was still angry with the demon, and there was no less ire about the woman. She tried to keep such emotions under check, however, as she kept that shadow back. The one Yan had tested her with before they had went to Damaskia to start their current process.
"Oh, so you took adventage of the situation. That's typical Yan," she said with her typical smirk of her own. The kitsune decided that there was no use bringing that incident up again, and Yan would have noticed a book rustle as she added that.
"Mm, then how would you get me through the large one?" She tilted her head. "I wonder if you've experimented in getting the portal open yourself. Your own way to get into Hell. Especially since you described it pretty well."If she had a glass of whiskey, she would have pointed one finger from holding the glass at him. As it was, it was just an observation stated outload.

“Fayte can,” Yan said lighting up a little at the idea before closing his eyes with another falsely innocent smile. “I can’t be trusted to.” The way he said it made it seem like there had been plenty of dangerous failures.
“I know a bit about Dimensional Science, but it’s like the stuff in your books. Most of it is too complicated for me. I can understand the concept and use it for some things but I’m not especially good at it. Because Empire City is so well protected from random portals, mine tend to end up in crazy places. It’s easier to use the one open on Damaskia since I already know where it opens in hell.”

The Celestial nodded before she gave him a more serious face. "Then, even though I'm the 'ruler' of the demon foxes, what will Lucifer do? And if you did come with me, how would he react?" That was very important. Since Hayami wasn't really the lord of Hell would do to a random Damaskian.
"I mean, your known to Lucifer, aren't you?"

“You’re too small time for Lucy,” Yan said waving her off. “Like I said, Empire City can be a bit like Damaskia. If you stir up the wrong kind of trouble you’ll run into enforcers. If you try and start a rebellion or something, the same goes,” Yan said with a small smile imagining her trying to go against the emperor of hell with a clan of foxes.
“Lucifer can be almost omnipresent in hell. It’s rare he doesn’t know everything that happens that could be of any relevance to him. He might sense your approach, the new leader of that clan, but when you have the kind of power he does, it’s more interesting to watch how things play out versus squashing any potential threat,” he explained. “Unless he’s bored. Then he’s less predictable.”
He paused there, imaging the worst case scenarios with a suspicious glance upwards as if he were definitely down playing things. He wasn’t wrong though. Usually Lucifer was like that...
“If you’re with me you’d be fine.”

"I'm a small fry, huh?" She grinned. Well, Lucifer probably was nothing compared to primordial chaos. Or was he? The thought prompted several books to open and rotate around the pair. "Is Lucifer a part of primoradial powers? Or is he a fallen Celestial of the modern verity?" She thought about it for a moment. The books around them were religious in nature, but they were mortal religions.
"I doubt that these books are fairly accurate about him," she said quietly before she placed her hand on her chin. "Maybe it'd be better to go there during some kind of celebration? Assuming that they have a qusai-mortal culture, in Empire City, then that means most the more powerful member of my clan should be there."
She waved her and and thought for the time. "That means I could either visit them in Empire City or confront those left behind at their complex." It was something that she'd need to think on a bit.

Yan shrugged at her question on Lucifer. He wasn’t sure, and the emperor teased so many things. Yan would argue he did have the power to rival the primordial if he wasn’t one, but that was speculation too to a degree.
“Lucifer is whatever he wants you to think he is,” Yan offered thoughtfully. “Even his appearance can change based on who’s in front of him. He’s a complex being.”
Even Yan who could be especially good at reading people and had extended experience in all sorts of people could only decipher that much. He wondered sometimes if even Lucifer knew his own sincere feelings. Could he differentiate what was actually him and what was simply part of one of his games? He had so many running at once. Pendragon was a newer one, at least Yan believed it was. Maybe Lucifer had been pulling strings with Damaskia longer then the monkey realized.
It could give him a headache if he thought too much on it, so he welcomed the conversation shift.
“That’s probably true,” he said about her clan. “Those who seek more power go to Empire City though, so it’s possible the stronger ones might want to just lord over with their existing strength rather then feel the weakness needed for growth.”
