It's not just about advanced techs though. I could go train with Roshi and learn Wolf Fang Fist, Shiyoken, Illusion Wolf, Energy Charger, and 3 fundamentals all in one week. vs the current system where I would have to pick one of those to learn, or 2 fundamentals. So you are speeding up the tech process by a factor of about 5x with this proposed change. Then a factor of 2x or 3x should be more reasonable imo which was the goal with the SP limit. Speed up the process without overdoing it. I still am reluctant because like I said it does have an IC reason as well as an OOC reason to have the "time wall." But since people seem to want to speed it up rather than the SP cap I would be more on board with a slight change such 2 techs a week or 3 fundamentals instead of the 1 tech/2 fundies.

What about having the option to choose between these during a week: 3 Fundies 3 Advanced 1 Finisher 2 Power-Ups 2 Specials 3 Stances 2 Rushes So that way it's not overdoing it, but you still don't have to wait so long OOC.

Yea I like the IC reason (but i'm also biased because i like slow progression anyway). Alex what if there was an item that you could buy that would let you learn 2 non fundamental techs in one update? Or a passive/some other ability that players could work towards to 'unlock' the ability to learn 2 techs to showcase they are fast learners or really adapt at picking up abilities (like a savant or something)

I like Ember's idea a bit more too. Regardless, I'd be down to get the ball rolling on it. We all are. No one wants to spend 8-12 months strictly on building a competitive tech list. Those days are over. That's why the mortal level has been raised, it's time to move on from that archaic system for the returning members and the new members to catch up.

TBH I think the less replies to this the faster it will be implemented, given that all admins are currently on board with the suggestion.
