(Base PL: 613, 572)
Death has come for this planet.
Did the people of this planet cling to life and all of its wonders, even in the face of eventual oblivion? Would they fight the encroaching darkness in an attempt to prolong their short and easily snuffed out lives? Perhaps these people would react much like those pitiful lives on Rigel VII - ripe, frail fruits hanging low from the tree of life. No; the entire tree had been extracted from the memory of the people like a decaying tooth. What was it all for?
The pure sensation of ecstasy that permeated every fibre of the stolen body, an undeniable compulsion only heightened by the life-hungry First Curse . For but a fleeting moment the Celestial could recall and nearly taste the overwhelming rush of the magic bound to her as it drank in those stolen souls that day. It was at this moment now that the hunger had set in.
Wasn’t that the whole reason she stood here now? The chase. The thrill. The hunt. The slaughter
The patter of the foreign soil beneath her feet carried a golden haired girl and the crunch of fauna beneath a heavy set of dark boots had already set a scene of distaste and exasperation for the planet. Life seemed to thrive in the very planet itself, like a faint pulse that resonate beneath the thick boot soles, almost as if to boast and taunt the creature of something it was in possession of but would never relinquish.
There it was! After following the faint pulse of life Lilly found herself gazing upon a gigantic flourishing tree that stretched far into the ocean blue canvas above. Slightly swaying foliage gave off a myriad of colors that painted an overlay onto the landscape as the sunlight that poured into the leaves from behind created a vivid and spectacular picture. It was such an awe inspiring sight that would have demanded the attention and worship of anybody who had rested their eyes upon the monument of nature.
Yet, now it only drew ire and hatred for everything it stood for; life.
Lilly clenched her right fight tightly as her dark suit wrapped form stood at the precipice of an overlook that jutted outward from the green slope. Windblown gold strands wildly flailed around at the woman’s clenched jaw line as the wind picked up an untamed and unnatural flair that sent a rolling buffet of freshly torn plant life rolling down out into the sky. The ground crackled loudly directly behind the darkness cloaked figure as she slowly raised the clenched hand toward the sky. With each rising inch of her fist, blood red energy erupted from the ground like wound being milked for its puss while simultaionously being spread across the in a dome shape. Thin shimmering walls of crimson outstretched across the sky before meeting together at just barely above the canopy line of the Tree of Life - a slight smirk came to the blonde’s face as the shield managed to cull some branches.
The stage had been set in the form of a large perfect sphere that engulfed the entirety of the tree, the Celestial and.. A poor unfortunate soul! Perhaps it was a stroke of luck that trapped the pair beneath the crimson sunlight, but regardless of the reasoning Lilly would provide an introduction. A flick of the right wrist produced long sword of twisted ebony and deep scarlet metals that formed a gaping dragon maw that gave off the visage of a hungry soul beast. In her left hand appeared a much smaller and more frail looking blade of ancient bone wrapped in a simple leather grip. The blonde scraped her shielded index finger across the unassuming edge of the blade and felt that even through her armor it was just as sharp as ever.
Lilly dashed forward and dove from her vantage point atop the steep cliff and used the natural cover provided to close the distance between the unassuming woman. As she cut through the warm air the lithe woman shifted her weight so her back was riding the wind and drove her to raise her right leg and attempt to bring it down atop the opposing woman’s shoulder-blade the moment they would make contact.
Words could never fully capture a moment. They were dull and void and only served to further the self importance of individuals who still believed they mattered. In place of words and but for the briefest moment, Lilly locked her gaze with the strangers and only smirked as she plunged the Dragon-headed blade into the fertile dirt at her feet.
The First Blade bit outward as the blonde swung outward and made a wide arcing swipe directed at Kasume’s midsection before bringing the blade back to her side and lunging forward to attempt and impale the rectus femoris with the tooth-tip of the bone blade.
Beneath their feet the ground rumbled with intensity as black strands of energy rapidly expanded out into the earth surrounding the Tree of Life. The rumbling came to a low growl as the Dragon Maw blade vanished into a tuft of darkness.

Enter the emissary,
Lana stood at the edge of the water. There was a deep gaze upon her which pierced its surface. Intently she watched, awaiting the re-emergence of the person submerged within. There was a steady glow visible where her stare fell. Silence gripped her vocals and she was comfortable with this. That was because she knew of the happenings below. This body of water had special properties. A being submerged could have their minds expanded greatly, perhaps even connecting with another. That was where she would be found. The distance below the surface was not precisely determined. One could simply perceive she was deep enough for her body not to be seen. The glimmer beneath the surface was that of a mystic energy. This energy encased her as if she were to be within the bosom of a womb.
Within this protective bubble, the maiden Kasume would float. Her mind was completely centered, her body comfortable. Her slow shallow breaths facilitated this intense level of peace. For the time being, desire nor need were present. Her existence was perfect. Within her mind she could see vivid images as if they were real. Fragrances common of field abundant with plant life flourishing in the season of spring filled her nostrils. And she would be there in the center of it all; standing, staring, perceiving. There was but one other presence there in her midst. A figure so familiar yet not seen for some time. It was one who once was a source of anguish and agitation. Now it was one able to draw in composure, perhaps even bringing her to gratification.
With this presence in front of her it all seemed so right. If she reached out, she could touch him. But she dared not provoke feelings of desire and disturb this momentary serenity. Still she looked deeply into the man’s eyes, the one she knew to be Kento. He returned her soulful gaze with one equally so, allowing this moment to transpire without cease. Then she would be the one to speak first.
“So you’re still set on this direction?” she queried.
The man, Kento, replied to her question with but a nod. Then he took slow steady steps toward her, now choosing to project his own vocals.
“Forcing the moment ahead of time will only bring disaster to us both,” came his earnest tone, “besides he is not yet ready. Nor are you,”
Kento’s steps brought him past her standing position, where he would stop only a few feet apart. The two dared not look back at each other just yet. The maiden relaxed her chest, exhaling intently. Her lips curled into an acute smirk and she closed her eyes.
“What do you see in him, Kento?” next queried the maiden.
The man stared at the grass where his feet rested, his thoughts coming together in reaction to the question. Then he did answer her.
“My replacement. Though we may yet live for hundreds of years, that still does not equate to forever. Neither of us are promised tomorrow either. We should always seek to leave something behind. I’ll want to know in my final breath that I did my part. And you should as well,”
The man then turned about. Sensing his movement, she turned as well, their eyes meeting with such strong focus.
“She will keep the promise, Kento,” stated the maiden.
“Of course she will. You would not be left in her hands if I felt otherwise. Though we are closer than you realize, our paths must not cross till we finish our roles. You must get back what you lost. And I must see to it that he is ready,”
Then the man raised but a single index finger as Kasume silently acknowledged his words; a glowing steady index finger. It would only stop just shy of her nose before the glow began to intensify obscuring her vision. She squinted tightly and would hear his final words, “till destiny do us reunion our spirits will continue to rest with each other,” Then her eyes would snap wide open again, bringing her to the reality that was her body floating beneath the surface of the water. Her physical sensations returned to her, feeling the cold on her skin; a refreshing cold. Moments later she would return to the surface of the water with Lana’s anticipation leading her to have rested on her left arm, the garments discarded by Kasume before she went under. After drying her body would she don them once more. The enchanted properties within them would lead them to hug her body firm once that was done.
“I trust his words were sufficient, love?” spoke the goddess.
“Yes,” Kasume did utter, giving unto the goddess an embrace somewhat out of character for the maiden. But miracles happened every day, right?
“I’ll be returning to the Dimension of Light for now,”
Lana’s nod signified acknowledgment and she spoke again, “To the tree of life?"
“Yes, it must know my answer was received. I request you remain and watch over them,” the maiden stated and requested pointing to the village nearby, “When I return, we’ll continue,”
Resonating with Kasume’s desire to migrate, a rift did open at her back side. She could see within view as she looked back that the tree was within reach. The maiden’s feet guided her toward the rift. Lana would call to her as she began passage on through, “Kas, no matter what I will bring you back to him!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She knew. Kasume knew all too well. With this comforting thought her footsteps took her to the light realm where she would indeed perceive before her the Tree of Life. Her delicate hands reached out and pressed softly against the bark. She closed her eyes connecting her thoughts with it. Tuned into nature itself through this majestic tree she was able to perceive its contentment with what the maiden had come to understand. Then as she pulled away from it there was something within her palm that forced her to grip tightly. Opening the palm, a bit she saw a tiny seedling; the tree’s response. Then it came with a vile sensation that poisoned the surrounding area, this sinister presence at hand did dye the sky with its bloodthirsty intentions.
And then, the maiden would come to perceive the existence of a barrier of sorts. She knew yet another hour of dire was at hand. The maiden looked at the palm of her hand which held the seedling in it; calm. The woman’s handheld steady. It was not her first tango with an avatar of death. She calmly waited for this new catalyst to bear fangs into the flesh that was her life. It’s bite trying to consume its fill like a beast that had gone without sustenance for longer than it should. A quick close and open of the hand would tuck the seedling into the ether just before the brunt of her shoulder would bear the vicious weight of her assailant’s unseen limb onto itself. She dropped along with it, her palms instinctively projecting to the ground to catch her. Then the maiden swiftly rolled to the left, flushing a trail of the soil’s dust in her wake. During this time her senses keenly gave her some insight into the existing assailant’s presence, no power signal it would seem.
Before her time in the dimension of dark, this would leave her in a predicament. However, adjusting to life in an area where she was cut off from supernatural ki sensing led her to distinctly rely on the flow of the air currents around them as but one example. So, as her unseen assailant attempted yet again to bear down on her, the maiden placed trust in an acute premonition. She made a daring acrobatic maneuver. She executed this by bringing her body to a handstand while continuing to roll with a twist of her body using palm to pivot and her legs to guide her direction leftward. Her arms bent slightly before she pushed hard off the ground, thrusting her legs downward, and arcing her back forcefully to tumble midair away from the assailant’s next swing. Impeccable timing let her plant her feet firm. But she still had much momentum to settle. So, she let her arms swing to the right, thrusting the force of her weight into her upper body slightly twisting it along suit. With this she went into a cartwheel, twisting her lower body into it. Then she let her feet come down to plant, straightening her upper body with her arms flanked out and braced at the knees to halt.
“Hrrrrhhh” She let out as her arms came around to her front, doing a wild rotation of her hands around each other.
Her eyes gave off a rather audacious white gleam just as she halted her arms parallel before her. Sharply she thrust them forward with her assailant fully within range of vision. A two-part response to him gave way from there as the arms stopped with her index and middle fingers projected like makeshift guns. With the fury of her will, the maiden willed a vicious shift of the ground at the assailant’s feet to disrupt posture. Simultaneously, the soil flung a piece of itself up, a large harden chunk at that, aiming for the face region. Swept up by this combination of adrenaline momentum, the maiden displayed her boundless grace as she whirled rightward about, her hair flailing unbound in the wind.
“Assailant of demise, gaze sharply upon this land which you’ve marked for yourself to deal unto me an untimely fate. We shall both engage in this dance of death,” she shouted as she now took control the wind to carry her voice with her energy rising greatly, “And when our song is done, LET THE BARDS TELL FAR AND WIDE OF THE ONE LEFT STANDING ON THE FINAL NOTE!"
As the maiden let her voice hail to the heavens, her body flickered with piercing light rapidly, before shrouding her in its vigor! For a moment she disappeared while, from her perception, the world would continue to feel as though it were spinning. First the light took on the shape of a cocoon wrapping the maiden tightly in its confines. Then from the sides would be large wings extending just before causing her body to rise. At this moment the maiden could perceive the presence of another taking shelter behind the tree of life.
I cannot guarantee your safety. I cannot promise at the end of this day you will see another. But before it is through, allow yourself comfort of knowing you witnessed existences beyond your imagination. Let yourself become a believer and go forward with this enlightenment, went her telepathic thought to this one yet to be identified.
The light expanded once more before giving way to the maiden’s presence to be visible despite the piercing light gleaming from her back. A gold and blue single piece garment hugged the maiden from her forearms, shoulders on down to her knees. Her normally black lustrous locks now floated about her head, shimmering sky light blue. Finally, her fair skin did gleam of the same intensity as it was cloaked with her newly released energy. Then, it let her be placed down on the ground, with her divine sense of sight fully placed upon the assailant. She rested herself in a vigorous stance that practically invited the assailant’s aggression. The light generated behind her finally contracted to be that of potent veil surrounding her form.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Ever steady and reliable was the rhythmic beating of the internal war drum that fueled the Celestial body. Though it had no sentient intentions and was unable to steer the automated bodily function, the beating drum would never dare leak a hint of betrayal by skipping a beat or fearfully leaping. It would instead relish in the face of an adversary that did not simply roll over and allow death to overcome them.
The face of whoever fought her now became the unwilling adversary to the parasite possessed Celestial, and it would be a face that would never be forgotten. Though their introduction was only for the briefest moment and largely consist of impressive acrobatics fueled by the desire to avoid becoming intimate with the old bone.
Beneath their feet the ground creaked as a large chunk of the fertile soil - yet to be contaminated by the darkness - had been extracted from the ground and hurled at Lilly. The towering cloud of compacted earth would not deter the woman, nor would it break her concentration. The shrouded hunter faced the chunk of ground head-on by running at an accelerated speed and raising her forearm across her chest and when it came within a whore’s breath, she struck out.
Lilly’s forearm absorbed the brunt of the impact as it struck out to meet the object, while her upper body took the majority of the clod-shrapnel and the resulting brown smidgens of terra that now detailed her upper body and face. The Hunter landed upon the hard and stable ground with a light thud before running the back of her hand across her mouth.No blood, just dirt. It was only dirt.
Glowering crimson eyes darted to the sudden erupting mass of energy that came from her opponent. It could be sensed that her power grew to astounding levels, but what was more interesting to the interloper was the fashion in which it had occurred. It would appear as if this dark-haired woman was of similar origin as the current host, except holding a deeper well of energy. The thought nearly sent a shiver down the blonde’s spine as she gave a deadpan response to the spectacle. One observation to be had was how instead of decimating the surrounding environment the power-up instead seemed to coexist with it.
“Nobody will survive to tell your story,” Lilly proclaimed with a cold certainty as her figure relinquished the First Blade into whatever dark abyss she had summoned it from. Thrusting her hand upward into the sky and extending her five digits toward the swirling scarlet shield would produce a small, baseball-size orb of swirling black energies.
“So, shut up and fight,” the woman ordered as she twirled her straightened fingers and sent the black orb hurtling toward the other. No sooner had the orb traveled a few feet from the source did a red shield of flames burst to life around the Hunter. The surrounding shield of fire loosely clung to the woman’s form as she cut through toward the Maiden.
Lilly advanced rapidly and fell to the right, planting her booted foot firmly into the ground and lurched by shooting off a quick, armored-knuckle first kidney strike where nothing but a thinner layer of cloth to pad the would-be blow. The scent of disturbed dirt filled the immediate area as the blonde spun her foot in a large arc that carried her body to the southern side of her target. Lilly swung her right fist upward and attempted to project the brunt of the attack into small of her opponents back while the blanket of fire trailed her every movement.
With some luck, the dark-haired woman would be stumbling forward and recovering from the attack. Regardless, Lilly would direct her solemn gaze at her target and unleash an invisible force of high velocity, compacted energy at her back.
The corruption shot into the crust of the planet slowly began to overtake the vicinity at the base of the tree - but not with ease as was usual. The Tree of Life appeared the fight with a ferocity only equal to the Guardian, perhaps their fates were tied. A particularly black splotch of soil shifted as if something was rummaging just below the surface before the ground erupted in a rain of harmless, dead soil. Crimson metal glinted in the dim red light of the bubble as the hilt of the Dragon headed blade yearned for its owner’s embrace.
So she embraced.
The two beings had thrown out the gauntlet in their own way up to this point. Their energies were complete opposites. Her assailant’s energy was hungry with bloodlust. While the maiden’s existed as a lightning rod bent on absorbing and neutralizing the threat to this world’s very existence. The force dome present which had been holding a perfect shape till now seemed to warp a little, as if struggling to contain the power clash. As she came to fully comprehend the grim possibility at hand, the maiden only seemed to become more relaxed. But having called on this new power, one would think Kasume could afford to be nothing of the sort.
But actually, that would be false. Relaxing was exactly what she should be doing. Her body wouldn’t move as she wished under self-inflicted stress. So, she held herself there with that feeling and a piercing stare at her assailant. The maiden’s posture remained still ever so intent on inviting her adversary forward. Purposely she omitted all else from her field of view. There was only this avatar of death before her. Finally, the assailant would budge. Dissipating the blade proficiently held in her grip, she’d thrust her hand upward to the air.
“Nobody will survive to tell your story,” came the words with attempting to pierce through her resolve.
Next came a fluorescent dark orb, produced with the assailant’s will. Hold still the maiden! Instinct instructed her it was not yet time. The body willfully obeyed this feeling, reinforcing Kasume’s calm.
“So, shut up and fight,” spoke further the assailant.
And then a gleam quickly flashed from the maiden’s eyes. Her lips pressed firmed curling into a slight smirk as she defiantly persisted.
“Make me…,” came the maiden’s response.
And then, battle movement commenced once again. First her assailant, and then the maiden herself in opponent’s direction! She would have but a split moment as her chance before it became a lesson learned the hard way. The assailant’s orb went to project in her direction. She did a twirl of the fore and middle fingers, a twist of the wrist and a sharp retraction of the arm. This single fluid action as she continued to circle to the left, guided the orb about before redirecting it to the ground. Then and there she stopped momentarily, crouching low.
That same hand she used then snapped out at the assailant’s torso with a hardened hammer swing targeting the border of the torso and chest region. Pulling away efficiently was the tricky part from her position. She relied on a speedy rightward tumble along the ground thrice. Then she planted her hands to the soil, snapped her head quickly up trying to keep the opponent in sight and stood up once again. The assailant was now projecting as a heat source as she made a threatening approach to the maiden.
She sailed, at the assailant’s perspective, right. From Kasume’s own perspective it was left. It looked like a synchronized dance how the maiden circled right in response. The maiden’s body glow grew stronger enticing the heat aura to draw directly into her until it gave off the same burning aura. This focus came at the sacrifice of taking the assailant’s heavy fist into her kidney region. The aura flickered with rage at this strike. It would again when the assailant’s fist sunk it vicious teeth of aggression into her spinal region. But that was where she would attempt to draw the line.
From the paining sting of that second strike, triggered the maiden’s sharpened speed. Giving the appearance that her body near instantly changed position. But merely reached into the well of her movement ability to draw out this excessive speed increase, placing herself to the assailant’s rear. Maybe a handful of feet away, the maiden’s right glowing hand thrust forward. The tips of her fingers each wove a thin string that would split further, attempting to take hold and constrict. At the moment of her right hand’s thrust, her left hand surged with energy. It would form a thin purple disc. It was lobbed and guided with her will to go for the target’s thigh.
Everybody always spoke so casually and with a vigor that, in some cases, exceeded their fighting capabilities by a large margin. The destructive engagement in front of the academy immediately came to mind. Despite this current bout having nowhere near the flare and unnecessary dramatic flare, at the moment, the Celestial pondered why for the faintest moment but shelved the fledgling query until later.
Slender fingers gripped the warmed hilt as the armored fingertips ran along the grooves and edged of the aged leather wrapping. The index finger hit the guard and halted as that was the silent signal to pull up! With an effortless exertion, the gaping maw blade was torn from the ground and wielded once more in the fight. As Lilly began to heft the blade in her target’s direction she sensed an incoming surge, then a restricting force overtook her body.
The Hunter fell to one knee for but the slightest moment as the strength in her legs wavered before returning and she was fully aware why. Without even placing her equally crimson eyes upon her forearm, Lilly could sense the activation of The First Curse burn through her body like the birth of a coursing addiction, like a dose of acid had been injected into her veins.
Searing pain suddenly tore into the left thigh region and forced the Celestial to grip tighter onto the blade she held for support. She did not look upon the wound nor feel a need to assess it at the moment but instead in that same moment pulled the blade upward with a fluid movement and directed the gaping maw at the Guardian. A dark flash shone at the woman as the same attack was suddenly bound with her being.
Thud, Thud, Thud
The secondary pulsating drum located on Lilly’s right forearm demanded her attention and coerced her to ignore the wound and instead focus on the bright vermilion Mark; the physical manifestation of the curse. The air immediately around the bearer suddenly stifled and grew more dense and dry before suddenly erupting into unnatural, deep red flames that shamed the usurped shield of a moment ago. The taste for death intensified.
With the fresh, trailing ignition behind her, the Celestial made a quick dash toward the Guardian. Before they collide a quick motion of her sword-hand would flip the blade to a reversal grip with the dark blade trailing alongside her legs. The blonde woman pressed forward and tore into the personal fire bubble her opponent wore before striking a chin directed uppercut with her blade-wielding fist that should have displaced her and the shield into space above.
With naught, a sound but the violent upheaval of the ground Lilly pursued her target into the red-hued sky. When she caught up to her target the blonde spun in one counterclockwise rotation to gain momentum and force before aggressively unleashing a blow to the side of the Maiden’s face. The Hunter pulled herself to a halt and quickly advanced to the opposite side of the opposing woman attempted to backhand her in the center of the face with enough force to send her crashing from the air like a clipped bird.
Instead of waiting for the woman to crash into the ground Lilly had decided she would help accomplish said goal by vanishing from her current position and trailing her opponent. The fire had now left her side and only darkness would embrace the Guardian now as yet another strike came for her face. The attacking woman balled her fists tightly and raised her arm high and across her face before attempting to slam her armor-enforced elbow into the beginning of the other woman’s spinal cord.
Now, she can crash into the base of her beloved tree.
Time had this ability to present itself in a warped perception depending on what was happening. This combined with how the individual involved was feeling and you had yourself one surreal moment in your life to reflect upon. With every step taken by this combatant pair, the exchanges became more intense. They became faster. The surroundings became more and more obscure. The maiden’s heart rate would further increase. And if she were wearing a watch, it would most likely reflect maybe half a minute transpiring. Thus, presenting a direct contradiction to what she thought may be much more.
It was breathtaking. Adrenaline surged through her, the perfect conduit in this moment. Before her was an adversary whose movements were a direct reaction to everything she did. It was a kinetic flow. The pair would feed into each other with it. The maiden’s mind juggled to balance excitement and focus, trying not to drop either to the floor. As the maiden’s energy poured out of her to strike strategically, her body quickly adjusted itself so she could keep the pace. That last combination, however, would also come with a tough consequence.
As the energy disc made contact, the maiden felt a spasm in her left leg. Now this may not be an accurate description of what she experienced. But it was the word to come to mind at first thought. Either way it made her intensely grimace. And in that moment, there was a feeling as if her soul and the adversaries were directly linked. The maiden instantly understood she had been made to feel the same unpleasant sensations as the adversary she inflicted it upon. Somehow, she found herself able to smirk despite her body buckling so abruptly. It was an impressive piece of voodoo magic she had allowed herself to forget existed. Circumstance punished her justly for it.
For shame, Kasume! As a former demon witch, she should have made herself resistant to such a hex ahead of time. In this moment she looked less graceful. The knee of her collapsing limb nearly reached the dirt. Her face expression projected clear discomfort. But in her mind, she pictured herself yelping in direct reaction to the cutting sensation. This only made her further sharpen her will, becoming more defiant to the agent of demise.
She fully regained standing posture, her brows quivering but her overall facial expression becoming center. And she began to backflip away, seeking to better position herself. As she completed a third back flip, her feet did skid in the dirt knees bending as well. Her eyes captured the adversary burning aura and all. Knowing she would soon approach, the maiden pressed her feet in the dirt.
Her arms pumped swiftly as she did, choosing a full-on sprint with her body ignited in light as she drastically gained running speed. Her opponent was far from dissuaded by this course of action. As the two drastically closed the distance between each other, the maiden’s quivery brows halted and sunk, showing once again her grit. There was a violent crash, of which the both were responsible. Somehow crimson and yellow formed an impressive color combination in that moment. The light expanded to the very surface of the imposed arena barrier.
One could hear the maiden’s slight grunting yelp if they listened carefully. For she was the one repelled when the energy surges the two created was released. She felt it in the chin that time from her assailant’s heavy physical swing. As she lifted upward in the sky, the maiden ceased resistance, allowing her limbs to flail loosely. Her eyes were tightly closed, and her hair fluttered, covering most of her face.
Suddenly, she felt her adversary within breath’s reach. And then she would be drastically forced sideways. Her face snapped to the right, after feeling the adversary plunge into her with yet another solid strike. She’d feel it in the face this time. Her eyes remained closed; body weightless still. In the interim an uncomfortable warmth pressed her which had also been present in the first strike. Finally, she would be sent into a spiraling drop as the adversary yet again clipped her face with the brunt back side of her hand.
That was when her perception of time would warp to that of slow motion. With these series of strikes, and that supernatural sense of pain conceived by her adversary’s witchcraft it was burned into her. She came to know the adversary’s proficiency with inflicting pain; preparing her for the eventual strike that would bring her target’s death. It was apparent how much this delighted the adversary so. With this understanding, the maiden gained a sense of satisfaction. This was reflected as she her head shifted “upward”; she was hurtling upside-down. The right side of her face was completely covered by her hair. The side of her face exposed showed a light gleaming from her eye and a grin upon her face.
To her assailant, the maiden looked ripe for the picking. However, Kasume made full use of her mental capacity engraving what she learned into it. As the adversary extended her striking arm, the maiden made a drastic change in posture. With a heavy swing, the maiden flung her legs back. Making use of her limbs had being completely loose, she twirled right when her body was fully erect in the air.
Kasume looked toward the assailant and halted the spin simultaneously. The full of her body was parallel to the adversary as she came around with a great deal of her weight behind another fist strike. The maiden’s hand snapped out as this occurred, the right hand attempting to attach to the wrist, the left cupped trying to catch the fist outright. The maiden’s energy went live as she spun away, while attempting to bring the arm along for the ride.
With this speedy guide, the maiden sought to send the adversary hurtling downward to the dirt with a swing. She aimed for a sufficient distance to the side of the tree. The world was spinning too much for her to care which side. Kasume had ceased letting her limbs be weightless by now. With a trail of yellow tracing the sky, she plummeted toward the adversary. Her eyes were veiled by light. Purposely invoking tunnel vision, Kasume focused on a spot on the ground beside the opponent there on the ground.
At this point, larger chunks of the ground required less effort to move. So, she had the planet again assist her by taking a large enough chunk of it to cover the target. The mental command she gave willed this chunk to plunge to her opponent. The maiden’s feet touched the ground before that was said and done. Rising dust trailed behind the maiden as she pumped her arms during a sharp sprint in the adversary’s direction.
The more she moved, the more intense the light around her became. When the maiden sprang off the ground, she had reached peak-level fury. The maiden’s body pressed toward the adversary and did whirl about before the attack she aimed to unleash. The maiden’s light aura wrapped itself around her then. She lurched the right fist toward the assailant. This fist aimed for the face meaning to do unto her as had been done to the maiden herself. A magnificent display of a pure light form throwing a fist out was present then. Unto thee she indeed did smite!
And its time for the Ref Report!
I wanna start by thanking you both for allowing me to ref this fight, its truly my pleasure. You're both gifted writers, and its evident here. I've never read any of Bebi's work, and I'm pleasantly surprised by what I'm seeing so far. I've been a fan of Kas' for quite some time, and its very nice to see you back in action, girl.
Pleasantries out of the way, lets get down to it! It was super close, but I'm going to give the RP award to Kas for now.
Bebi did a great job setting up the scene and establishing motive, and I feel like you have the edge in the offensive department. I'm not the grammar police by any means, but Kas has the advantage here. Not that she's been perfect, I just saw less from her, although I will say you've shored it up in your 2nd and 3rd posts.
I love the back story Kas set up in her first post, and I feel like you have the edge when it comes to selling the attacks you're taking. Bebi has the edge with her attacks, but your defensive RP is pretty much what won you the award this go around.
Keep up the great work you two. I'm really digging what I'm seeing.
Note: Ill edit in damage report and rolls in the morning. I got out of work super late and honestly don't want to try to math this at 1 AM, but I at least wanted to get the RP award up so you could get started on your next posts if you wanted. You both know you've got a lot of HP left. Also, if you could list DR in with your techs, that would make my life a lot easier.
---- Damage Report and Rolls:
-Bebi: Took Telekenisis, Kienzen (DR 5/Shaman's Baned), and 1 SA Counter -Crit Rolls: 1 Slice FAIL, 2 Energy Steal ALL FAIL, 2 Freezing ALL FAIL -Health Remaining: 90.5%
-Kas: Took 1 SA, Beam Ball (DR1), 2 SA's (WFF), Burning Shoot (2 SA's and 1 QA) and Kienzen (DR5 Shaman's Bane) -Crit Rolls: 1 Slice FAIL, 6 Toxic (1 Success, 5 FAIL) -Health Remaining: 86.5%, Toxic Crit success
Sorry for the delay. Let me know if I missed anything!
She was a worthy adversary. It was almost a shame of what was going to happen to her. To have her body stolen and corrupted beyond capacity. To be paraded around the planet she called home and to visit the people she called friends and family - and to deliver the killing blow to all them.
But first, she would need to be torn down.
It was unexpected, but as the Celestial came for one of the strikes she had found herself intercepted by the swift and unassuming nature of the meek-looking woman. The ground rushed up to meet her with a heavy-handed hit and yet in that brief momentum filled moment she produced a thin shield that covered her entire body. Still, the ground assaulted her form and her dark armor endure the earthen scratches.
Just as Lilly had pulled herself to a halt and spun around in her position, a large chunk of the earth came crashing down atop her much like before. The dark visage grimaced as dirt and rock assaulted her form. A part of her was aware this attack was only made so much easier due to the environmental damage she had caused. As the brown chunks fell around her and finally cleared up she was greeted with a golden aura and in a similar move she had attempted to deliver, a solid fist had introduced itself to the pale features of the Hunter. An audible cracking sound crunched in the air, but it was not from the bone. The protective shield had nearly expended its life.
With a sliver of thick, viscous silver running from the corner of her lips, Lilly grinned and reached out before the Guardian could leap away or break their intimate proximity. The darkness wrapped right hand shot forward intending to aim for her neck. Even before making physical contact Lilly could feel the warmth of the neck gripped tightly between her fingers. The firm grip creating slight bulges in the skin as the increasing pulse thrummed against the manifest darkness that guarded her hand. Even the flaring light that frantically assaulted her person incited feelings of excitement.
Lilly held the light in balance, but she wanted more. She wanted to snuff every last vestige of light from her opponent and keep it for herself.
Enough. An intense wave of gravity broke up the intended grasp as the blonde attempted to use the unexpected force to repel the Guardian off into the distance. Her gently lingering aroma quickly overtaken by the dominant scent of the charred environment that crunch beneath feet. A step forward would introduce a crunching sound to the air.
Hues of warped red sunlight hit the woman’s face to give her a menacing and almost demonic look despite the look of pure apathy upon her face. Lilly twisted the ebony metal through the charred dirt for a few rotations before making a quick move and throwing the sword up into the air. The gaping visage of the hungry dragon produced a dark-colored sphere of energy between its jagged teeth that swirled upon itself and began to grow in diameter.
Lilly cut through the space with only a faint tussle of her golden blonde locks and cut the distance between herself and the Guardian nearly instantaneously. During that short moment, she had produced the ancient mandible and now wielded it with a deft hand. The edge of the blade became emblazoned with a pure white light - not unlike the aura that her opponent wielded so heavenly.
From an outsider perspective, it may have looked as if the interloper had cloned herself in three forms as she circled the lone woman. A flurry of white strikes came down at the Maiden from all angles - her upper arms and torso, upper back and even a lone strike intended clean across the face. Lilly pressed her weight firmly on the ground and launched herself up to the maw'd blade.
The hilt of the blade rested upon her shoulder as she held it ready to strike forward at a second’s notice. Crimson eyes scanned over the battlefield before locking onto her target. One fell swoop of the blade released the accumulated darkness across the battlefield like an ocean wave crashing upon the shore - though it was aimed for the hunted. Solid black energy scorched the air and ground within the dome as it would devour everything it came in contact with.
Except for the only one who fought back. Such a simple blast would not do her in.
“Come,” the silent Hunter whispered into the chaos of their battle.
[Base PL: 1,296,064; Jumping on Kasume's Side]
And he crashed through the barrier violently.
He landed between the two warriors in a pillar of sapphire light, erupting between them to the point where it'd likely send them both on their heels. The smoke cleared in an instant as a pulsation of the Saiyan's power gently pushed it away.
There, King Tarble of the Oath stood. Ready for the fight at hand.
It didn't take him long to deduce that the one with a power level he could actually sense was Kasume. She was the champion of this planet, opting to fight against the pestilence all on her own. However, Tarble did not share that sentiment. "We can talk later." An eye of pure blue power gazed back at the Champion of DeKalb.
"But for now.. just for today.. let me be your hero."
Now he stared forward again. His power pushed outward once again as dark tendrils took his body hold, clinging to his chestplate as if it were some sort of armor. "I don't know who you are, why you're here or what you want. But you're hurting this planet. Choking the life from it." He spoke boldly, beginning to take step by step forward. No fear consumed his mind now, only the hyperfocus on the blonde woman that stood in front of him. "No more."
Tarble's hands curled into tightened fists, letting his power burst forward just one more time. "You have one chance to leave this place. Other opponents may have a penchant for holding back or repeating themselves, but I will give no such mercy." His eyes glared into the blonde's in that instant.
"Leave."
The threat lingered in the air for a moment, but he knew it wouldn't reach this woman's ears. After all, he knew this type. The type that was never satisfied.. that wouldn't see the error of their ways through simple fights. That was perfectly fine by the Saiyan. He was going to bring this fight regardless. "Let it be known I gave you an out."
A slow sigh was released from the Saiyan's body as he felt energy surging through his body. It flowed freely, making him feel much faster. Much stronger. Then he gazed at the blonde woman. "Do not let your heart be stained with regret.. nor should you curse your fate. It was sealed the moment I arrived."
Gravity began to push down on the blonde woman from atop, and while the crippling effects would be up to her own fortitude, the Saiyan pushed down all the same with nothing but his presence alone. He took a choice step forward. "You stand against a beautiful planet flourished at the seams with magical people. A people you could have easily called ally had you not represented such a vile disease." The King raised his hand up. "It didn't have to be this way."
And then he snapped his fingers, calling others to action.
Daji had been busy, moving in the shadows of this world and keeping an eye on the realm. Of course, he was a shinobi--to be unseen and unobserved was not particularly necessary, but as a stranger to this world, it was effectively a good option when it came to being a simple observer. He wanted to gather information on the situation before truly committing to anything, though his suspicions seemed to be correct--there was a foreboding sensation and power upon this world, and it did not feel entirely natural to this world either, like something vile had landed here and was now at work. He wondered what it was or who it was--he had sensed it before, but never this close and with such clarity. This close to it, even if it wasn't exactly arm's length, still felt strange and gruesome. No matter--he wanted to get more information about this place and the threat that had landed here, and now that he could feel it, he could approach it.
Of course, no one could really miss that some of energy that acted like a barrier upon the battlefield, and upon investigation, appeared there were two warriors within it, fighting furiously. That was, admittedly, a little unexpected--though perched behind some trees and rocks near the barrier, using the cover to conceal his position and suppressing his power to hide himself, he was able to observe the combat within--and while he had to strain his ears a little, his Kitsune hearing managed to pick up on what they were talking about as they fought.
It was brief and it was not exactly elaborate... but it conveyed the point well enough. He was able to figure out who the assailant was through observation, but now was just the question of what to do--piercing through that barrier looked a little more difficult than one might have originally surmized--the tech was largely unknown to Daji. He grimaced a little as he looked upon it, wondering if he had another means or technique to go through it without alerting those within, and yet, that decision would also be made for him as another spirit energy suddenly spiked on the other side. This one, however, was actually familiar for actual reasons--he immediately recognized the power of Yamato and Tarble, the latter of which seemed to use an awful lot of power to completely destroy the barrier that had separated the two warriors from one another. He ducked behind his rock, shielding his eyes from the blast, until he looked back up towards what remained...
And it looked like Tarble and Yamato were joining the fray. Huh... well, it looked like whoever they were attacking was way more of a threat than he realized. If they were committing to defeating this foe... then it stood to reason that the Kitsune ninja would need to as well, if only to prevent... something. It was actually not all that clear what the assailant planned on doing, but if it was bad enough for Tarble and Yamato to suddenly appear like that, then it was obviously something really bad. He had a working relationship with their clan as well... they probably would not mind it.
Daji burst forward towards the assailant, launching himself swiftly from his hiding place and unsuppressing his spirit energy--the time for subtlety had long passed at this point. A series of punches and kicks would be leveled against the foe, masking a swift hand to pilfer something from the opponent's equipment (what was this... a bug hive? Ick) , blows raining in with rapid succession, looking to catch his foe unawares and force them onto the backfoot before anything else happened. If nothing else, it would at least help the Shinobi in figuring out just how powerful this foe was before going all out--best to weaken them first in order for the bigger hits to go through. Hopefully. Here we go!
The maiden's technique met a bit of resistance just before it crashed on through where it seemed to make some sort of contact. Yes, she indeed managed a successful reach. Kasume's heart rate played a swift beat beneath the surface of her chest, instinct coercing her to continue on. For now the feeling she would have the chance to take the flow of battle into her whim seemed present. She pressed her feet to the ground, eager to enact the next action into her ever developing pattern of attack. But her adversary had the answer for this feeling. Denied.
Her vocals vibrated out a slight "Hrrn?" in confusion as something reached through the light, managing to ensnare her neck. She let out a slight gasp and took a gulp of air as she felt her assailant's vice grip pressing. She seemed however to stop before reaching the critical point of being able to puncture. This was not a kill shot it seemed. The maiden could but only stare into the stoic eyes of her captor as her feet dangled just slightly off the ground. The maiden's right hand went for the wrist of of her assailant's capturing grip. Her view became colorless just then, feeling she had entered a critical moment of dire. The maiden's light aura dimmed a bit and there was strange sensation coursing through her body. Vigor was steadily leaving her. Was this person siphoning her life force?
This adversary was capable of taking in another's life force for herself. A critical ability indeed that could be to her advantage, the adversary of course. No sooner had the maiden gathered her will to try and struggle, had the adversary chosen to repel her on her own. The maiden felt a crushing surge of power press into her form, launching her away from the adversary. She couldn't afford to be lax in this position. The maiden flung her body into a tumble as she sailed back. She then made an urgent effort to touch the ground with her feet. But she couldn't stop herself with just that alone. The maiden's hands reached to the ground clawing into the dirt. While she did this, the vigor in her aura returned as if her energy was trying to aid her in stopping.
Once again, the maiden's efforts to simply remain steadfast put her at the mercy of the assailant. Her adversary's impeccable timing came into place again as she appeared the moment the maiden's form stopped repelling from its original position. Thinking only of protecting herself from further harm, the maiden's eyes shut tight and her roots as a witch came through to the surface. The maiden's vocals projected a simple word "Sanctus!!" as she had done at one point or another when her father was to lash his fury upon her. Her own powers did not respond to this word, but something concealed on her would. Sending a surge of its power into her light aura, the maiden's energy became a buffer as the assailant unleashed complete fury upon her. She could only hear the sounds of the assailant's slashing weapon; feel the painful abrasions upon his skin as it would attempt to tear into her very skin. She let out a pained howl when one of the strikes sliced across the cheek of her face, leaving a shallow gash there.
Enough! She decided within her mind. The maiden gathered herself and produced the will to move sharply to the right. But the wily foe had already been given the necessary time to catch her yet again. This time it was if the gods themselves decided to strike upon her with how the final blow came from a surge of energy that seemed to come from the sky. Again she was repelled. But somehow the light feeding her did its best to shield her. Somehow she was spared the full of this onslaught through it. But she had been flung backwards, strangely enough back to the tree of life. Somehow this maelstrom of combat had brought her full circle to the tree she had come here to see.
The maiden's instincts seemed to be guiding her to remain there for a moment. The body was attempting to settle from barrage of pain dealt to her. Her chest felt heavy but it was hard to tell if she were fatigued or simply feeling the rapid thump of her heart. She used the tree to support herself, pressing but a hand upon it. That was when it decided to again communicate with her. This time, the tree itself gave its own light and began to push it into her. In doing so it fueled the vigor of the maiden's own aura. As she turned her head slightly, she saw the semblance of the other presence trapped inside the barrier with her. Timid and filled with a sense of danger, the presence hid behind the tree once more the moment it had been noticed.
"So you're protecting this one as well? I was right to respect you," she uttered as her lips curled into a smirk.
There was a feeling of restoration surging through her. The gash on her face was reducing to a that of a mark on her face which might scar later. However, the blood that had slivered down from the opening remained present on her face, dried out from the process. The tree had decided this once to restore her. But could she break this seemingly flawless formation her adversary had projected? She turned away from the tree and recaptured her adversary with sheer sight. Her face expression gathered quickly to show focus and she prepared herself to move.
I will get you out of here somehow little one. She thought.
But she would not get the chance to do anything just yet. Suddenly a sharp disturbance made itself present in the air, capturing her senses and attention. Something else was coming? Her eyes grew width just then seeing the barrier become viciously disturbed. Something was attempting to break through. Perhaps another adversary. A few moments more and their time alone together was successfully halted as the barrier shattered and another presence made itself appear quickly on the field. Unsure of this new person, she started assuming the worst. Within a stone throw's distance, he had his back to her for now. His intentions had been made just then. He turned his head slightly, showing the luminous azure glow of his eyes to her.
"We can talk later," he softly spoke to her, "But for now, let me be your hero,"
He commanded this request with strong confidence. He had come to intervene in the matter at hand. She could feel some of his power. But, since the adversary currently gave no clue of her own depth, she could yet gauge how it would measure up to the adversary up to this point. Her senses caught onto the presence of yet another just presence lurch itself from hiding. Then she got to watch as the first took on a tremendous change of form before her eyes. Then the two in their own way took on to try and combat the assailant. This was the chance she was looking for. Immediately she turned back to the tree, focusing her attention on the presence behind it and made her way back there. She indeed did discover the other person to be of a child like form. Draped in flourished gown, this child couldn't have possibly been out her on her own. Perhaps the parent was already dead?
"I have to get you out of here,"
With the barrier down, perhaps she had her chance to save a life. As luck would have it, the clashing energies present in this area disturbed the delicate fabric of space, tearing hole some feet further back from the tree. The choice here was obvious. Knowing it lead to the dimension of dark, she trust in Lana and Darek to find this soul. If she knew Lana as well as she should, the goddess was watching all of this transpire. Quickly launched the child by the arm toward the rift, observing her body pass through.
"Remain safe..." she uttered.
The rift having been fed, would then seal itself shut, leaving her to look around from behind the tree as she contemplated on what to do next. She knew nothing about these two presences and was for now assuming that natives of the planet had decided to mount their own attack against her.
"Time for an awesome entrance," Burter said as he stepped out onto the open hatch of his ship. It hovered in mid-air a half mile over the scene of the battle, floating next to the pod that Rhin had escaped Frieza with. Glancing below, the Na'vadian quickly surmised that this wasn't some kind of fair fight between four badasses. It seemed more to him like a three-on-one, and something about that just tickled his pickle the wrong way.
Taking a deep breath, the soldier stepped off of the ramp, plummeting towards the ground. A semi-transparent blue aura roared to life around him, tailing off high-overhead as the wind rushed past his face. Going in at full-power wasn't his usual tactic, but then again he didn't usually drop into battle against such powerful enemies and here he was, quite literally doing so.
Like a meteorite the Blue Hurricane landed amidst the combatants, a small crater forming upon impact. Immediately he hustled to strike the coolest pose he could, putting on his serious face. After holding the amazing pose for a few seconds he relaxed and broke into a toothy grin. "I heard there was a little battle going down. Never met any of you cats before, and I aint got any idea why you're all battling. All I know is that I followed a worm here pretending to be part of the Planet Trade Organization, and until I find out what that was all about, you fellas aint beatin up on this little lady too badly."
Waiting for some kind of reply, the Na'vadian glanced between the three new enemies he'd just made. For all his boasts, he wasn't stupid. Evening the odds as quickly as possible was in his best interests, and so he set his gaze on the woman that looked a little battle-worn already. Just as he opened his mouth to address her, though, she turned and fled, stepping into a portal of some kind and disappearing in a flash of light.
Blinking, he looked back at the other two fighters. "I guess I'm not the prettiest mug to look at, but do you really think I'm that ugly?" he asked, scratching his head.
Guess I just go for the weaker one now.
"So... Vier, is it? Are you ready for this beating, or would you prefer to pack it in and run with your friend?" the Brute asked, eyeing the name etched into the man's forehead curiously. Even as he spoke, he manipulated the air overhead to send Rhin's pod crashing on top of the fox-faced man. No fool, he knew better than to think he'd ended things so easily. Darting forward into the ensuing smoke cloud, the soldier began to run circles around his target's ki signature, pouring on the speed until his aura appeared to be a solid blue ring of energy, swirling rapidly while channeling the oxygen in the area upwards and away.
Feet slapping against the ground like fresh Chucks on the hardcourt, Burter turned his chest inward and threw a pair of energy balls into the air. While one maintained its form, anchoring to the foe's aura, the other flattened out into a net - both cut through the smoke towards his opponent.
Everything shook. The Tree of Life shuddered with a frightening intensity as the red dome above them creaked and crackled beneath the weight and force of something unexpected and powerful. Very, very powerful. Vibrant red quickly faded into dull terra colored objects as the sphere burst open and showered the area in shards that faded as they tumbled to the ground and left no impact scars upon the hide of the planet.
Whoever destroyed the shield was certainly more nefarious than the Curse bearer as now their destruction was exposed to the world.
Deep cerulean skies greeted the blonde woman’s crimson eyes as she adjusted to the sudden intrusion on the intense battle by a lone warrior who placed himself firmly in the divide between herself and the Guardian. Their eyes locked for a brief moment as Lilly raised her dark blade across her chest and he began to lecture. It may have been a risky move and one that could instill some regret in her, but Lilly turned her attention from the woman she had just engaged with. Whatever energy this newcomer so haughtily flaunted was more attractive than what the Tree of Life could offer her.
“You talk too much,” she interjected at some point during the near vapid ramblings. At that moment it felt as if the sky itself began pressing down on the woman. The weight of the planet pushing the burdens. Before the pressure could cripple the blonde and force her down to the ground, she pressed her strength into heaving the dark blade high above her head. Suddenly the pressure vanished, the gaping dragon maw absorbed the crushing energy, absorbing it and keeping it for her own.
The woman's ears perked up as she could sense another power surging toward her - two of them had come for her? It mattered not. They, too, would come under the heel of death.
As the second jumper approached, the blonde woman darted backward to provide herself more precious seconds as the heel of her left foot hovered mere inches above the ground. She pushed her fist out and instead of striking, she quickly snapped her fingers and produced a small cloud of dust that hit her pursuer in the face. A small portion of her essence infiltrated the attacker.
“Sit.” her stern voice demanded. While it did not exactly obey, she had managed to stave off his relentless pursuit for the moment.
“Stay.” her voice was cold and calm as she spun around to shoot a disdainful look toward the would-be as dark tendrils erupted from the ground - the corruption she had injected at the beginning of the battle. Slithering slippery anaconda girth tendrils climbed over the male body and restricted his movements. They looked much like the ones he had already adorning the breastplate. It would not hold him at bay for long, but seconds were precious and sometimes all there were needed.
The woman who would soon be known as Death manifest vanished from her position and appeared right beside the anthropomorphic creature. A flash of straight, white teeth framed by pink smooth lips greeted him with a look of derision. Lilly held her hand out toward his lower chest and only mere inches away from his flesh, and immediately released a thick beam of crimson energy straight at his solar plexus.
And so the tides had been turned-- to an extent.
The snap of his fingers came. A signal meant to call those who were prepared to fight forward, and with that mighty momentum, bring an end to the scourge that would call herself Death. However, not all was as it seemed. Tarble's eyes widened slightly with recognition of the first warrior to dive in from the shadows, a kitsune that he knew all too well. Master Daji. He had remembered his help during the fight with Caius, he was a trusted ally. A smile came to the King's lips at the sight of him, but it was a very, very shortlived happiness.
Yamato wasn't here. Yamato wasn't anywhere to be found.
Tarble shut his eyes for a moment, throwing his senses outward. He let them wash over the rotting planet. Through that, he felt the immense pressure that was fighting against Yamato on the outskirts of their fight: Nekros. This was his machination. Quickly, what was once a solid plan started to unravel. DeKalb's champion had turned tail and left, scurrying into the World Tree. While a part of the Saiyan understood her fright toward fighting this disturbing fight, another part of him found himself angry with this turn of events. What kind of champion didn't fight for their planet? Was she simply stalling for time until someone came to her rescue?
Barring the new arrival, Tarble found himself angry. Was he really going to put his life on the line for a planet that no one was going to fight for? No, that wasn't the case here. This person just needed to leave. That was the only thing to succeed in here. A small breath hitched in his throat as he opened his eyes. His eyes were consumed by a cloud of dust that hit against his eyes. Temporary blindness, but he found himself on his guard for any attacks that may come his way.
Vision did not come back easily, but come back it did as he threw his gaze about the battlefield.. and he saw Daji. Daji was fighting ever so valiantly against both the woman and the azure-skinned newcomer, ready to go down to his last breath. The Saiyan King took a step toward them, ready to try and continue the fight and perhaps turn the fight in their favor. But then another beacon of energy came into his senses. Oh, it was very hard not to sense that impending presence: Chaos. That was a fight he was not going to pick. No, that just made it all the more clear.
These two were allies of the Cosmic Empire.
Now it was all too clear where their Empire stood in this world. They wanted nothing more than the senseless destruction of worlds that did not deserve it. The deaths of innocents. Tarble had once allied with them, strategized with them, but he had long shed that skin. The only missions he had ever gone on for them was to dispatch an Android that had killed one of their own.. and to try and save a planet from the destroying grasp of a God. Morals got crossed and now they were destroyers. Warmongers.
Villains.
These revelations overwhelmed the Saiyan, caused him to scream out. To scream as loudly as he physically could as energy pushed outward. An overwhelming sapphire flame burst out from beneath him, combating the dark scourge that laced the ground. As if by an otherworldly magic, perhaps by his divine light gifted to him through the means of the Primordial or by another higher power, the planet was slowly freed from the dark grip that once tore it asunder. His gaze came back to Daji when the pestilence had evaporated to nothingness. The look in the master's eyes was to tell him to run. That there were bigger things for him to accomplish.. and that this fight may very well be a losing one.
The knight to deflect pawns away from the King.
"I.. understand." Tarble wore a heavy heart. Daji had never done anything bad to anyone. He had only sought to spread his knowledge far and wide, to both friend and foe.. and now he was going to fight to the last breath for a planet without a champion. The very least Tarble could do was buy the planet a bit more time. So when his divine power had finished creeping along the surface of DeKalb, he let out a sigh. While the two of them fought the man that wanted him to escape, Tarble did so.
He threw his senses to both Yamato and Nekros, feeling out their energies in the distance. He needed to make it there as fast as possible, get them off of this planet before that impending Emperor struck down and made things a hell of a lot worse. It wasn't that Tarble didn't believe he could take the Emperor-- in a one on one fight, they'd likely strike even these days. But it was a matter of not wanting to fight him in the first place. Chaos was his brother, even at this very moment he wanted to believe that. But the actions of the Cosmic Empire could not stand when planets and innocents stood on the other side of the gun they held.
And so his aura surged wildly around him as he began to speed away from the battlefield. Tarble flew through the sky quickly, faster than he even knew was possible for himself. The farther he got away from the fight, the more all of his senses were overridden with a single task: save Yamato. But his heart still wearily thudded against his chest, mourning for the man that fought alone against people who sought that very destruction.
But it'd be a disrespect to the kitsune's wishes if Tarble didn't do everything in his power to simply survive.
Dust kicked up in his wake as he put more and more distance between him and the World Tree, flowing freely through DeKalb's inner cities to try and find out what the hell Nekros had planned.
Daji was reeling after that... thing the opponent had used against his rushing assault--he had not expected that level of reaction from an opponent, especially when leaping from his hidden position. Had he been that obvious? Probably... this level of opponent was probably keener than they initially seemed. They felt strange as well... but that was hardly something to dwell on as another warrior arrived. That thing that had frozen his body in place had wriggled it's way through his body and halted his movements, and it took a burst of energy in order to expel it from his body...
Well... that was not going to go over well--
Daji felt a pinprick on his mind and leaped to the side, just in time to avoid some kind of ship that had crashed where he had been standing a moment ago. He grimaced hard at that, sending a look towards Tarble... wherever Yamato had gone, he would need Tarble's strength more than this. He would need to leave... which meant the Kitsune... would just have to do his best. So be it.
"I really should get that fixed at a rejuvenation tank..." Daji uttered to himself in response to the statement of Vier. He was wearing his Ninja garb, but his forehead must have been showing... no matter. Immediately, the blue-skinned warrior started to encircle the Shinobi, a powerful whirlwind coming into existence... and making it hard to breathe!!! Daji felt his chest start to burn from the lack of air, prompting him to form an energy barrier around himself in order to retain what oxygen it could... but as he leaped out of the epicenter of the attack, the whirlwind's fury ripped the shield asunder... so this was the power of some warriors in the galaxy... good grief, what had he gotten himself into...?
Daji felt a spike of Ki from his opponent, a familiar display of energy that Daji knew of--a binding technique! Instantly, the Fox disappeared and reappeared behind his opponent, a flurry of precision strikes aiming to clog the Ki of this alien warrior being let loose! Each one was aimed towards leylines of spirit energy throughout the body, in order the hamper the use of that energy. That would dispel the attack they were going to use... well, for now anyway. There was no telling what would happen in a few--
There was a sharp pain in Daji's back as a blast of energy slammed into him, sending him rolling across the ground from the impact.
He backflipped away from his opponents, landing on his feet before attempting to send twin blasts of Ki, one towards each of them, hoping to pull their attention onto him. Then, he tapped a bright rune on his Gui, the small device emitting a bright light!
Daji brought his hands up to his face and amplified that light in a radiant burst, hoping to blind the blue-bomber!!
