Vlad, Tarble, Gotenks, Dr. Ghast
There were a number of strikingly different things about the world they were now in. The first was the barrier above. It seemed to have been fueled by the souls of everyone who was sacrificed in the explosion. They were trapped there in something demonic and old--something Ghast might feel some familiarity with, but still beyond his grasp. Either way, the barrier above felt like a blazing sun to anyone at all susceptible to demonic energy, or the screaming cries of the newly damned. To the average man, it was simply a red tinge over a destroyed world, but noticeable none the less. The second was something this group was just now being acquainted with, though they had been warned. One of the Saiyans broke apart into some kind of corrupted mass, quickly mutating into something more sinister, and its tentacles reached for EP-3 even as Tarble dove in the way. But it wasn’t just one man, one monster, these tentacles were breaking through the disturbed earth as if beckoned here of all places. Ghast floated above it all, finisher charged in his hands as he completely ignored his allies' experiences. He was so focused on the remaining Saiyans he did not notice this mutation. He did not notice the rising force from below, and he definitely didn’t notice as lifeless golems lunged at him behind. His attack blocked out the noise, crackling and putting a pressure on the battlefield that only made these golems and tentacles move faster. Ghast’s finisher was the equivalent to a dinner bell being rung, and he was immediately engulfed by the starving beings who heard it. Three golems attacked him from behind, latching onto his body as tentacles rose from the ground to grab at his legs, pulling at him and growing larger, longer, to try and completely engulf him. All the while, the power from his attack began to dwindle as he felt it as well as his very soul leaving him through their grubby little connections to his body. While Ghast was definitely in trouble, the two young boys Goten and Trunks also fell as a delicious victim to these tendrils. They could feel their life force being sucked out of them, as if their very souls were being tugged away, their supply of ki dwindling the longer they were victim, but they were able to summon enough gumption to over feed the monsters with a blast of aura to send the fat overwhelmed creatures backwards, momentarily stunned. Tarble took a similar route, though he was able to do so much faster than the less experienced children. And he had managed to save EP-3 the same treatment, but the boys were the first to realize what was happening. The two power ups from Saiyan royalty had triggered something even darker and more sinister. The other golems seemed to scatter away as if knowing they had no more shot at food here. The bigger predator would eat it all. A roar cut through the silence, more like an earthquake, the sound like the after effect of the earth crashing into itself. The ground did not actually break, but the world trembled. The destroyed particles of the city seemed to be affected by a shift in the geometrical field. They began to rise slow at first but then faster until the air was filled with the city. Dust from destroyed concrete, dry wall, copper wires, ashy metal, decimated bone and flesh, and even blood. The entire catastrophe rose to engulf them, forcing them to breathe in the death and destruction, and a shadow formed within it. This dust wave blocked Ghast’s view of what was happening below but he would feel the menacing power under him as clear as the rest of them. Through the dust bowl cracks of electricity sparked and danced like arch reactors overloading, and waves of energy seemed to push at the group from all sides. Despite this pressure, the two boys managed to lean on each other, pulling up even more of their reserved will power to decide to face this creature as one. The fusion was successful, and the blinding light was almost enough to push through this haze…almost. The ground rumbled again and the dark shadow moved closer to them, its malicious energy seemed to double the weight of gravity onto the fused warrior…and Tarble. Pushed down by the weight of this seemingly body-less creature, the shadow began to glow. Two sharp white spheres cut through the haze as the destruction seemed to gravitate towards them before they were pushed forward one at Gotenks, the other at Tarble. With the monster's sights set on the two royal Saiyans, EP-3 and Vlad had a small moment of reprieve. The haze the monster had created had swept them up as well, and the destruction particles made it difficult to see their allies, but they could definitely see the luminous shadow approaching their friend and the two, now one boy. They could join the battle or try and break free to get a better grasp on the entire picture.

The three girls had done a good job of disposing of their Saiyan attackers as well as getting some prudent information: do not go below.
Cauli’s technique at getting this information was questionably reliable, after all, the answer could have been to go below but it was exceptionally dangerous and the man now in love with her might want to save her from such a disastrous fate. It was also possible it was very true as far as the Saiyan knew it. The Cult of the Sun had managed thus far to successfully blow up a summit, capture a Saiyan Prince, and destroy an entire city to fuel a monster barrier that was now stopping any unwanted interference. That much success said one thing: they were smart. Smart did not entail telling your ground soldiers important secrets.
Either way, this was the information they had, and while there was still time to question it, Riki was correct: they were not alone.
The two corpses of the Saiyans had begun to turn to stone, something to note considering their newest opponents.
Beams of light dropped down from the barrier, energy dropping into the city but nothing exploded this time. It was like a pretty light show, nothing more, nothing less, except the sounds of screaming that followed immediately after.
The energy used in the battle between the Saiyans would have been enough to catch the attention of the magma monsters patrolling their new home beneath their protective barrier, but Riki’s gigantic and very powerful beam made it a complete certainty, and now like a swarm of zombies attracted to loud noises, they were almost on top of them.
Cauli could probably sense it. The creatures felt like the barrier. They were in essence, the barrier transfigured into moving bodies. Each one entrapped a single soul used as fuel for the creature. The magma-like energy spread through the cracks in their bodies and seemed to burn that soul away a little more each move they made. Soon, they would need more fuel, and Riki had unleashed a beacon to tell them exactly where to find it.
As soon as Riki spoke, they rushed forward, bringing with them a dry heat that was powerful enough to prickle even a demon’s skin. There were nine in total clattering over the broken earth with impressive speed. The fastest of the three showed the likely non-sentient aim of the swarm as each one lunged to throw themselves at each one of the girls. If the creatures could get a good hold on them, then they could drain them dry and turn them into more fuel for them and likely the barrier. If they didn’t succeed at this, there were two more behind each.

The golems Anna and Hertz had been fighting were vicious enough. They came in various sizes, some looking more animalistic while others were humanoid to be sure, but only after being distorted by some horror film that elongated their limbs and jaws, twisting their limbs up in the stone until they had even more murderous prowess. Some were smaller, like children, but they all shared the same menacing personality: hissing, laughing, growling, and lunging: starved maniacal beasts.
Burning through their bodies was that magma like energy, which released a blistering heat, but it was their claws and maws that were the most dangerous. Any contact they made siphoned, and while quick kicks and punches did not allow them to take much, a good grab could be fatal.
Luckily though, Hertz was an android, and Anna wasn’t letting any of them get a grab on her. As she unleashed a more devastating attack, some of the golems were vaporized letting out howls and screams like they actually possessed souls that she was now extinguishing.
Others ate up the energy but were thrown far back, their bodies crushed and crumbling as the magma helped them piece themselves back together. Her attack gave them time. Time to do something, to plan to…
Another explosion, this time through the ground, a boy crashing to the surface. As if on cue, a third explosion, as a girl crashed hard into the ground creating a miniature crater, and then there was a giant bug moseying in like there wasn’t any threat at all.
“Below,” Gohan had managed to say before Nelgae scooped him up like a toy.
The ground rumbled, and the places Gohan and Kale disrupted began to cave in, breaking apart more as a sudden heat rose up from below. The ground quickly began to feel like tar pavement after the sun of a 110 degree day had beat down on it for hours. It sizzled, and the air directly above it stretched and blurred with heat lines as it became almost unbearable.
Dramatically, a hand rose through the rubble first. A giant malformed hand that seemed to have been crafted together by already deformed bodies. Its fingers stretched like claws and the heat source became apparent. The monster hand was glued together by a searing hot energy, the same magma from the smaller creatures only in a much greater and more concentrated amount.
The rubble poured down towards the hand as the ground shifted more, a quick sand effect before the rest of the body pushed its way through. If someone found the hand grotesque, they might puke at the actual body.
It didn’t seem to have a lot of sense to it as the other golems had, twisted versions of people and animals. Instead it was stitched together by that flowing energy creating random limbs and shapes. You could see the already distorted faces of the golems stretched out even worse in agony merged with the monster. Clawed hands reached out from its giant mass, but ultimately, it formed something…a bit like Nelgae actually.
Ten times the giant bug's size it had a large center mass and multiple clawed arms. Unlike a bug though, these arms weren’t uniform, some stretching far longer than the others. What could be called the fused golem’s face looked at least a little like its sources, the long overbitten jaw that hung slack as something like a tongue slithered over its sort of lips.
Was it a tongue? Or was it another golem? Probably best not to think about it.
As it rose to its full height, breaking completely free of its underground prison, the ground seemed to rise with it. The heat streaked air was smeared with broken pavement, rubble, bodies…gravity seemed to shift. Now there was a pull upwards, as everything rose with the monster golem. The air grew even hotter, but now it was humid, a choking pull.
All this happened fairly quickly. The golems' rise was slow enough to take notice, to feel the energy building all around them, but not so slow as to make countering it very easy. The attack’s build only lasted until the golem reached its full height, and when it did, the world exploded. It was like the heat had finally grown powerful enough to cause the air itself to pop and crackle, only it all did at once, each pop sending its own shockwave, with all of them crashing into each other until the entire explosion was thousands of crushing forces slamming into them from what felt like all sides. It was an all engulfing explosion, but Anna’s barrier almost held. Almost. It stopped the inhabitants from taking any damage, but the rushing force of it was enough to send all the Saiyans, and potentially deca-Anna and weak Yan tumbling about a bit violently. Ultimately, it pushed them a bit further from the battle.

Yua’s exploration of the tunnels had been fruitless thus far. The underground cave systems seemed to have been a mess long before the explosion above made them even more unstable. At this point, did she even have any idea where she was going? She had lost track of the Saiyan that drove her below at this point and seemed to simply be wandering forward, away from dead ends, but to what? If she tried to get a better scouter read on the situation, she would find that the numbers were extremely jumbled. There were spikes of energy that quickly turned into nothing and smaller readings that seemed to disappear and reappear on whims. Something below was disrupting the technology, and thus would be of no use to her--another hindrance to this journey. The Saiyan decided to follow her, but mostly because he had no choice. Well, he could have chosen not to trust her and checked that it truly was a dead end, but after being saved, he was a tiny bit humbled. Just a tiny bit, and not that he would ever admit to it. He was used to working as a unit, and with everyone he knew on this mission dead, Yua was the only potential team mate he had. But he was right. The path she walked down was full of death, however not as she had experienced thus far. The first body they found was no longer flesh and bone. The corpse had turned completely to stone. If she investigated further she would see blood soaked into the earth, enough a dead body should lay on top of it, but instead there were unnatural trails away from it, the blood sliding on like someone had smeared it in its gait. Further down, she’d see even more stone bodies, but before further exploration could happen, she’d feel a strange energy. Her scouter didn’t pick it up, but she could feel it almost as if she was still human and had a sixth sense before she could see it. It felt ominous. It felt chilling, and if she moved forward to investigate further she’d see a dozen small white lights floating down through the stone ceiling like fairy lights dancing. It would have been beautiful if it weren’t for the feeling that surrounded them, like something unnatural, something wrong. They had entered into a larger chamber where there were at least twelve bodies strewn about, and the lights seemed to gravitate slowly towards the now statues, fluttering with no urgency, and yet the air grew even heavier the closer they came to touching one.
After some deductive reasoning and decision making, the odd ball trio decided to go underground, attempting to follow the trail to the Saiyans they had been able to sense from above. The deeper they got into the underground however, the more they would feel their senses get disjointed. Their scouters and even AURORA seemed to be malfunctioning, giving various readings before they vanished completely. Their senses were no better. While they could see and hear as well as they normally could in the darkness, their ability to sense ki felt like hearing things underwater. It was loud and quiet and very difficult to trace. While they had a good idea as to where the Saiyans were when they started, the tunnels were not that kind as to give them a direct path. It didn’t take long for them to reach a dead end where the walls had caved in. They could of course try to blast their way through it, though that might cause more issues if the tunnels were unstable. They could also retrace their steps and take a different turn to try and maneuver the maze that way, and maybe even blow through some walls where the tunnel seemed more stable. Whatever they did, they would have to be very careful to keep track of where they had been and where they believed the Saiyans were before their senses and scouters started acting up. Struggling through the muck of whatever was disrupting their scouters however was AURORA. The AI was quite gifted, but so far, she had been pulling up some blatantly wrong information in her guiding of the trio. Surely they should have gone to the summit if they were trying to figure out where the Saiyan royal was kidnapped, but instead they had been led in a random different direction. Just as something had to Juch’s systems when this event originally happened, something was tinkering with hers. But, unlike Juch who was catering to the Cult of the Sun and trying to be diplomatic, AURORA had more time to investigate this matter and realize something was off. On top of that, she wasn’t just being used for communication, which made her a larger target to try and manipulate. They did try, careful at first, but soon something would ping in her security protocols. Avalon didn’t just fool around with such things. There was a separate connection trying to access her systems.

Riki wasn’t sure what the hell these monsters were. Such things had been covered up in the basic news, and she would have had to delve deeper into the entire conspiracy if she wanted to learn the more intimate details of what happened after the barrier went up. She did not. Hindsight being twenty twenty, it might have helped to research this type of thing ahead of time, but Riki hadn’t even paid attention to where the portal was going let alone when.
Regardless, they were grotesque, and even before they reached her Riki could feel the heat pouring off them like she was sitting in front of a heater vent. She was indeed reminded of a zombie film, which helped her mood. Who didn’t want to be in a zombie film? Well, most people didn’t, but it was definitely the type of adventure she sought.
As the first ‘zombie’ lunged, Riki jumped into the air causing it to go crashing into the ground. She landed close to Lemon’s Saiyan, who the young demon girl had abandoned to check in with her since he decided to take a bullet to the face. It was only then that she noticed the body had begun to turn to stone, and she immediately saw it to her benefit.
Lifting the Saiyan by his legs she swiftly moved into a spin to get his large body in motion. It was too early for rigor mortis but the turning into a statue thing kept him rigid enough that this task was pretty easy. She spun twice though, gaining momentum and speed before she released the Saiyan like a shot put, sending him in disk form to the congregated mess of zombies, hoping the Saiyan’s large size and their desperation to all swarm the living ki sources would have it hit as many as possible.
Assuming it did hit some away from the other girls, Riki jumped up into the air once more in a grand leap before she pulled her heels together and with a rush of ki slammed down into the ground, targeting the golem with the most friends around him. Whether she hit that one or not, her collision with the ground caused it to explode sending a shock wave out to hit any of the others nearby.
This planted her back near her headless Saiyan, also turning into a statue. She picked him up this time and ran at one of the golems closer to Cauli before stepping into a full and power swing, using the corpse like a bat to hopefully send the creature flying into his friends. Then she charged the next one, this time closer to Lemon, repeating the motion after taking aim to once more target the ball zombie golem monster at its friends.

When a person responds to traumatic, confrontational, or fearful events, there is a tendency to think of the "fight or flight" mechanism. With a broken ankle and a battered body, Gohan lay on the ground of his home planet in an unfamiliar timeline that had been thrust into chaos. Before his very eyes, a creature that had terrorized his dreams joined the fray, picked him up, and told the boy that he would be a 'snack for later'. Fear had long been left behind. Panicked was the only word to describe how he flailed within the carapaced embrace, thrashing ineffectively as his mind went blank.
Tremors shook the area as the golems which had tossed Gohan so casually breached the earth, slapping down a sloppily constructed hand to pull itself out. The flailing child managed to slide from Nelgae's embrace only to find the combined golems had changed their shape to an even more disturbing insectoid. Terror filled the air in the form of a bloodcurdling scream, the shrill soprano betraying Gohan's youth.
Adrenaline flooded his body as the his nervous system kicked its response up another level in urgency. Gohan reflexively built a barrier of ki around himself as the fine hairs on his arms and neck began to burn with the roiling heat of the golem. Even through the defensive shell he felt the suffocating heat of a volcanic eruption as the golem finished its' terrifying entrance. He cried out again as the powerful blast engulfed him and hocked him like a loogie toward the domed sky, flaming rubble following him like a trail of spittle.
Despite the space that had opened up between Gohan and his assailant, he didn't think he'd be able to flee so easily. He flipped himself around in the air, straining to grab hold of a piece of the rubble with each arm. Accelerating through the flip made it harder on his body, especially his burnt shoulder, but he grit his teeth as he rapidly slung the two chunks of concrete and rebar at the monster's enormous head.
Halting his momentum a few dozen feet in the air the boy surveyed the area, keeping a wary eye on the golem. He hadn't been on the surface in this part of the city yet, but it didn't look good. Was there anything nearby he could use to pin down the creature, or better yet an escape route to pursue the cultists below?

Nelgae looked down for a moment as his psychic senses kicked in. Heat flared and he jumped away like a cat that was surprised, his wings flared to life from his back as the bug’s gray shell was left behind in a sudden reaction, similar to a detachable tail from a chameleon. What rose out of the ground was a clawed hand, like some stone devil. What Nelgae and his Queen had faced were mere paper tigers compared to this devil work, as the bug man seemed to growl low in his gray form as his crimson eyes glared at the creature, magma lined and obviously their opponent. It seemed that he had been created in a grotesque version of stone and magma, something like a stone Klaxxi warrior, though perhaps with an additional limb here or there. His focus was actually on the being under his arm, and though he could have tried to hold the child more, Nelgae elected to loosen his grip that led to the youth's wriggled escape. With that, he glared up at the fake Arlian Champion, but there was something that pricked along his gray form. It was as the creature rose, a sensation of heat, a heat that continued to climb as the creature did. The grotesque thing gathered energy, in what seemed to be a slow burn, before the Champion shouted out, “Defend yourself, it comes with an energy attack!”His hand swiped at the air before he released a shrill battle cry that also acted against the attack that wafted from all sides as the Arlian Ancestor released a bestial screech, “SKREEEEE!”The howl lifted the energy around him and crushed it with the cry of the insectoid, before he swiped his claws again and released his power in a wave of psychic energy to counter the beast’s own, as his power was drawn forward as the evil creature that was Nelgae took to the fight with new vigor that ran through the blood in his body. A big body merely made the creature a larger target for him and the people that would fight it! Crimson and black mixed as his ki flared to life around him as he prepared his body like a spring, coiled and ready to explode outwards. He lifted into the air with pure muscular power, as he leapt at the freak of nature that it was, as he swept his clawed right leg towards the beast’s chest, the very middle, to test it’s mettle and to check just how hard its toughness was against his own might! The blow held the fury of a mountain to crash into the overly large being as it would have easily sliced any mountain near them had he struck within such a vicinity. With a continued roar of power, the bug swung back around the other way, as he unleashed a nastier surprise, as he slashed this time with what might have looked like a super sentai pose, as he snarled, “Boom!” An explosion howled to life from the slashed kick, as it scythed in a diagonal arc upwards, as he aimed to test how far the creature could hold this one spot. With such a nasty surprise, the bug was not done, as he decided that he could pull one more attack as his arm flared to life with ki as he jumped back with extra speed, as he engaged his ki and pointed his arm directly at it’s face, where that lolling tongue held out, aimed to perhaps take it off with his attack. The usually azure orb was replaced he injected the ki within the orb to bleed it to a purple orb that grew from the size of a soft ball as he held his palm flat, the thumb pulled against the palm, and flared out the amethyst orb that grew twice to that size as it sailed towards his targeted area as the bug backed off them, as he intended to see the full measure of this creature. Physical, ki infused, and full ki attack. What would work, and what wouldn’t? He landed calmly and took one of more favorite stances so that the next attack would not be such a surprise. In theory, it should allow the bug to counter anything thrown his way, since the creature had not made a second attack against him or the group. WC: 741 Actions: Free. Precog vs A-2 1. Lemon was not afraid, though one might have thought that she was slightly psychotic after she had murdered that Saiyan that was at her mercy. Riki was someone that she wanted to consider a friend after all this was said and done, but who knew? The other friend, Cauli, had even more interesting powers than she had thought possible. The tattoos were obviously a source of her power, and that made the demon hybrid even more curious, but she didn't really have time for that. If she were a cat, like an Earthling's pet, she might have been more enchanted by the light show, but that was not what happened. Instead, that light show Riki had given off? That was about to cause the group some trouble. Lemon pulled on her jacket as she smiled lightly. It was a little fun to have this jacket, though it was from some demon scholar that she had met on Ghidi Prime some time ago. She growled as she noted the manga enhanced beings - that's what she assumed that they were - and was uneasy about them. The first one rushed at her with speed ahead of the ones behind, and she didn't have a better way to engage than to take it more head on than her more nimble friend. As the creature came close, she engaged with her cat's paw, or more precisely, her demonic arm that she drew out of the demon world! She drew the slash towards this being's head as flames licked around the strike as she sought to burn away the gray matter, as she always assumed that "zombies" were like the ones from Ghidi's stories: destroy the brain, remove the nervous system. If these things were zombies. But she wasn't done, since those were just stories from her home world. She snarled as the girl slammed her fist towards the creature's shoulder joint, the right and the the left, as she sought to tear each one apart. She raked her claws along what should be the muscles, so that she could sever muscles and perhaps tear the bone joints out of place. So long as they acted like muscle and bone should act. She ended her frenzy as she tore at the creature's neck, this time with a fist that she aimed at the creature in an area with as little of the magma in the throat as possible. She wanted to tear the throat out with as much force as she could, so that it howled like in a windy gorge. She didn't know if this effort would be enough to rip the creature to shreds, but she didn't have much of an option. She couldn't bring her full might to bear, not when it had leapt at her like that. Riki, on the other hand, had used her strength and speed to attack most the creature. She just hoped that she was freed from the one against one that this thing had come at her with! If that was so, then she could join in on more of the fun. WC: 515 Actions: Free. Accept Grapple 1. Demon Claw [DR 1.5, -3% Ki] [Attempt to slash and burn the brain away] 2. Anna
Their fight had become a nexus, the meet up point, for more warriors which Anna felt to be much stronger than they should be for this time period. Out of the few that showed themselves, after she cleared out a few golems with her energy, despite knowing they absorbed energy, she knew oneof them and she lit up, her eyes widening.
A massive bug dropped onto the battlefield and upon his shoulder was Wriggle Nightbug, and that connection she felt with the woman resonated. It hit Wriggle as well, though Wriggle had already known Anna was here, this Anna that was here wasn’t a past version of her either. Wriggle looked to Anna with lazy and sleepy eyes, and had probably too much confidence in the ability for Nelgae to protect her from harm, as she nuzzled up against his harden head and let off a yawn instead of a smile or anything endearing towards Anna.
“I never told you I quit,” Wriggle said after the yawn had completed itself. Anna smiled at the night bug. Wriggle had changed a great deal since then and she looked more bug than cute -- but she was still adorable.
“Me neither, I guess we fail to tell each other a lot of things. It is great to see you though, Fighting with us today?”
“Oh no, Nel handles that for me. I might sing here and there though,” she said with Anna frowning at the thought and knowledge. Knowing Wriggle could sing was worrisome, but as usual the bio saiyan did what she did best around Wriggle.
“Oh, I trust you then.”
Wriggle grinned. “I keep telling you that’s foolish, but okay. I don’t think I want to break that trust in you. After all, I've seen what a beast you can be.”
Before they could continue though, the heat began to rise and it put Anna on her guard, taking a stance. While she waited for the beast to fully show itself, right ater the hand rose, Anna analyzed the new combatants. A boy, a girl, and the bug with a princess on his shoulder (a queen, but Anna still sees her as a princess at this point).
The monster rose and Anna was disgusted with its grotesque shape and look, fighting back the urge to puke herself which was shown visibly in her features. She could feel its energy rising and she began to worry. Her other self intensified the barriers around her, Yan and the Saiyans. The Anna that was in the midst of it took hold of Hertz with one hand. “Don’t be scared,” she said as they both started to vibrate, a purple hue cloaking them both.
She knew she had to act quickly, less they be swallowed up by a world-ending explosion. She took a step, and if Hertz didn’t struggle too hard and actually GRABBED his cow in haste, they would step into nonexistence, as if there was a curtain next to her that she disappeared into. This would escape the explosion completely, with her tossing Hertz out at the end of the explosive force.
She did not follow. Anna stepped through the curtain from above, looking towards her deca form to see where she had landed after the explosion. The Deca had grabbed onto Yan after the explosion and hugged onto him tight, using herself as a shield against the bounce of the ground. It wasn’t heavy damage that she took, but more pressure that pushed them away.
Good. Yan was safe, and she knew she needed to keep him that way -- she wanted to. This Anna was now a few feet in the air and she clenched her fist, power swelling at the tip of her knuckles and flushing around her fist and bubbling alot like that heated power from that grotesque monstrosity that was below her.
Anna became that teal eyed demon earlier against the saiyans and the smaller golems, and now she was going to phase into the megaton bomb that they needed to drop on the creature and hopefully expose its weaknesses. As her power rose, Anna waited for Gohan to clear the blast radius she projected and then for Nel to do the same.
With one single sprinting step she disappeared behind the dimensional curtain going downward and with another step she stepped into view as if she had been running down toward the beast at full speed. Usually it would have taken a few seconds to reach the top of what could have been the beast's head, but her teleportation skills made it instant.
Her fist was like a massive meteorite ready to clash with the earth, placing all of its momentum and explosive force on the beast instead of the earth itself. With a mighty howl her fist slung downward and upon impact she would cause an explosion that was pound for pound greater than what he did, but it was also focused directly on its body rather than expanding throughout the city, which made the force of it all the more dangerous.
Right after dropping that attack, her body poofed away and she had reformed her body back near Yan and away from the battle itself. She had something to protect here, and there was more than just this creature to investigate. Four warriors should be enough and there was hope that her attack would expose more weaknesses of the creature.
Hell, if things get dicey maybe Wriggle will wake the fuck up.
Wriggle
She didn’t change her demeanor, even when the creature exploded, which was interrupting her time with Anna. Nel screeched at the blast and completely dissipated it before it could touch them, which she expected from her knight. She gave him a very simple pat on the head which he would understand was his Queen telling him good job.
As he moved throughout the battle field, her body moved on his shoulder perfectly to allow him to move, her eyes drowsy which was probably an insult towards the monster. She watched as Anna performed her manuever and then poof away which made her eyes open a bit at the notion. “Did she really just hit and run? That isn’t like her at all.”

The words of warning regarding the path below had scarcely left Cauli’s mouth before she sensed something new had turned its attention towards them. The feeling was strange, as though the tortured souls in the barrier had found a way to become mobile. Perhaps those responsible were rocking personal shields and had come to give them what-for because they killed some of the underlings. As the beings came into view, Cauli found that she was mistaken. They were nothing but drones, moving as though directed by a hive mind towards the three girls with murderous intent.
The monsters appeared to be constructs of some sort, with stone armour plates covering something that Cauli’s couldn’t quite see at this distance as they were obscured by a shimmering sort of glow that she couldn’t put her finger on. There was something familiar about it though. It was only once they got closer still that Cauli realized that the substance between the plates, indeed the substance that they were made of was lava.
A wave of heat washed over them as the two groups collided. Cauli didn’t need precognitive abilities to know what was about to happen, but she was glad of them anyway because they helped her identify which of the three front runners would select her. Riki sprang into the air to avoid her own assailant, while Lemon slashed with impressive viciousness at her own.
Cauli was much slower than Riki and was still hampered by the effects of the barrier upon her psyche. She instead slid to the side, allowing the creature to pass by her in its attempt to grab her. She didn’t know its intent, but she assumed that whatever that intent was didn’t bode well for her new friends. She had recognized the directed movements of the creatures quite quickly, as though they were not possessing an intelligence of their own and quickly formulated what she hoped would be a successful plan.
As it happened, the plan didn’t come to fruition, for at that moment Riki came through with an improvised Saiyan bat to hammer the monster she had been hoping to lure into a trap. With a grin, Cauli turned away from the now absent foe to regard her first suitor. As she turned, she noticed that Riki had wrecked her brand of havoc across most of the remaining monsters. Pleased that she could perhaps concentrate on this one for a moment, Cauli selected her own piece of detritus.
Once upon a time it had been a lamp post, but as she twisted the top off it became a longsword with a particularly vicious looking point on the end. Spinning it with a flourish that was vaguely reminiscent of a blademaster’s salute, she predicted that a monster made of stone that was capable of the sort of straight-line speed that this one had demonstrated would perhaps be lacking in its ability to turn corners or move with any sort of agility. It was based on this prediction that she took a knee and emulated Riki’s baseball swing directly at the intersection of the two parts of the creature’s leg that would form the knee on an actual humanoid.
Cauli sprang into the air from her kneeling position, her hip screaming in protest at the sudden, explosive movement that had been undertaken without any sort of warm-up. She nevertheless controlled her movements using core strength and managed to get herself into a position where she could attempt to drive the improvised spear through the chest of her chosen foe. She withdrew it quickly and spun out of the fray, glad she had chosen to avoid becoming decisively engaged with the creature.
Turning to regard her friends, Cauli surveyed the scene around her. It was pure carnage in the moment she took to survey the scene, though she was unable to ascertain whether or not Riki and Lemon had actually been successful in destroying the creatures or whether they were just being flung around the battle space while actually taking negligible damage.
Turning back to her new best friend, Cauli walked towards it nonchalantly, swinging the makeshift spear around like the most arrogant baseball batter ever before hefting it to aim a brutal strike directly at the side of whatever passed for a head on this monstrosity. Almost as an afterthought, Cauli moved with as much speed as she could muster in order to deliver jumping two-footed kick at the centre of the monster's back. Her aim in this was not to hurt the beast, assuming that it was still alive, but was instead to send it careening towards the pile of monsters that Riki had been working on creating.

Standing proud with his cow, Hertz watched as the monster rose from the depths. His momentarily greater function in threatening Nelgae faded leaving his eyes the zoned out blue. As the heat rose though he lifted his hands out as if warming himself by a fire, letting out a pleased sigh as if the warmth was welcome to a cold day. Anna gagged, and Hertz barely seemed to even notice the new monstrosity before them.
When she spoke to him, he looked up to her, tongue sticking out with the blankest of stares. He didn’t seem scared at all this time around, though it was possible he just hadn’t noticed the creature yet and was going to break out into another fearful high pitched scream when reality finally set back into whatever went on in his head.
He did seem to notice her doorway though. ”Okay!” he said without any thought. He picked up his cow and walked on through just as the blast brushed against his butt.
Easy, easy, but Anna didn’t follow him. With the curtain still open, now leading in a new direction, Hertz stuck his head out of it. It probably looked quite strange to Gohan who was also in the air to see half of the robot's body hanging absently in the air. Anna moved to the rush however, and Hertz eyes turned red once more.
”Cover fire!” he announced, and now even stranger, the robot’s huge gun poked out from the abyss, firing six rounds of shots meant to draw the warped creature’s attention down to the ground, he targeted the creature’s legs. He understandably assumed Anna was going to strike from above, though didn’t predict the warp at all that made his cover fire somewhat useless.
Realizing this his eyes went blue again. Anna vanished after her attack and Hertz let out another: ”Okay!” and vanished back through the curtain to the edge of the blasts’ radius.
After a moment's pause, he picked up his cow again and ran full speed towards Anna and Yan, looking to become a shadow in the debris. It would probably be wrong to say Hertz actually understood he was fleeing, as he expected Anna’s attack to fell the beast in one punch, but if it didn’t he wanted to be back with his Princess.
Meanwhile, Yan was grabbed by shielder Anna and went tumbling at least out of the area of effect the battle close to them was now creating.
”This is starting to feel like Warped all over again,” Yan said, as Anna had spent a lot of that running and protecting him. He gave her a squeeze that would have flustered present time Anna before releasing her and sitting up to check on his Saiyan prisoners who were no longer prisoners.
Anna’s shield had protected them too for the most part and they were toppled not too far away.
”See if you can get any contact,” he yelled to them, keeping his commander's tone. The stooges at this point agreed with who he was if only because they needed a protector from whatever this new shit was. Yan’s gamble was correct, the golem monsters were not in the briefing. They obliged to his request, though what they’d be able to do was questionable.
Time anomalies, super strong people being there when they weren’t supposed to, and multiple mysteries. Yan closed his eyes for a moment and stretched out his senses. In the original event he had relied on this skill somewhat heavily, trying to feel out that demonic presence as well as to try and find allies and avoid monsters. He stretched those senses out now, trying to get a better lay of the land to see if he could pinpoint any other impressive power levels, monsters, or even a better grasp of the demonic barrier.
Once he had that, he took a breath in and shifted those senses, honing in on anything Saiyan. Energy signatures were all perfectly unique like strands of DNA. That was how you could feel a friend halfway across the galaxy, but like DNA they shared characteristics to those with similar characteristics. If you knew what to look for in an energy signature, every Saiyan had certain markers. If he could sort through the mess, which he hopefully did a bit in his first search, he should be able to pinpoint the specific Saiyan signatures scattered throughout the city, or at least closer by. If he got the same answer as his stooges, the ruse would work all the better.
He pushed himself up to his feet after that, quick enough, before offering Anna a hand. ”And on we run?”

Post by Shell on Mar 6, 2024 15:38:12 GMT -5
As they went deeper into the underground it became apparent that something strange was going on. Powers they had sensed around them were fluctuating in location and not giving accurate readings. Shell was not used to the AI acting up like this, but when he went to utilize his own senses the same kind of hindrance continued to mess with his own refined skills. He looked at the others to see if they seemed to have issues. ”Either of you getting strange sensory issues or scouter readings?” Shell asked, hoping it was just something wrong with his powers again and not an interference. Towa turned towards the Namekian, her demonic dark vision allowing her to see clearly without aid unlike most mortals, ”I’m glad it was not just me, Mira how are your sensors doing?” The demon goddess began just trying to get some idea of what was actually going on here. Maybe the disruption was related to the explosion or maybe it was something that her own heritage could help with. If it was time manipulation related or demonic it was possible that she could identify it. Any information that she could gather though would certainly be helpful. At this point they were basically flying by the seat of their pants looking for something or someway to progress. The night vision protocols had allowed Mira to see as well, but he seemed focused on something as he heard her question, ”Clearly, something is going on here that is disrupting our devices. Even my sensory systems are malfunctioning, but with the right amount of technological advancements like I have, I think I am able to figure it out and properly track our targets.”Shell nodded hearing that, AURORA had activated darkness protocols to allow Shell to see as well, so at least that was not a problem, ”Then I guess we follow Mira’s lead. I’m glad your systems are manageable.” Shell then focused his eyes on the malfunctioning Avalon technology, ”AURORA can you give me some analysis on what is going on.”Strange symbols flashed across the screen that Shell was looking at. For a few moments that was all he could really see, but then the AI answered, ”It does appear that someone is attempting to hack me. According to some details I have pulled up while fighting the hack, I found that a similar thing happened to the Keliouxian Scholar Juch when this event happened. I believe I have stopped that hack and might be able to see where it is coming from if you want.””Yes, focus on stopping the hack and counter hacking. If we can figure out anything in that regard it will likely help us moving forward. I can focus on what is going on around here.” Shell answered, the Namekian knew how much information AURORA had at her disposal so making sure that information and those systems were not vulnerable was of utmost importance. The trio moved forward, following the lead of Mira, who was making the effort to actually find the Saiyans. It was hard to know what they might be finding there, but the hope was simply that they would find answers. This was a situation that had left much to the imagination and while history spoke of the events of this day, it was hard to know what exactly happened due to the lack of released information about the attacks that happened. Obscure moments in history. They were important to an extent, but ultimately this wasn’t like the Unit 5k fight during the Galactic War or some Universe altering battle. It was an important event, but it was not amongst the most important things to ever happen. That made things interesting. Were these situations targeted for a reason or did they play more of an important role in the Universe than were known. Why were these specific events targeted? Towa was incredibly interested in finding out what the goal was here. Knowing that manipulating and altering time was for a reason, she was intrigued in this the most. Fighting the things that were going on around them was a nice little hindrance, but her main objective was learning more about whomever was causing this distortion. She looked around at the walls and the tunnel they were in, trying to find something in the air or around the area that would give her a clue on the purpose. That would lead them to solving the problem and maybe into the good graces of the Time Patrol. Mira led the way as Shell and Towa seemed to be dealing with other things. His focus and advanced design had allowed him to prove his superiority in his mind and get proper tracking on the Saiyans they had come to find in these tunnels. It was certainly not easy, but the processing powers of the Android had allowed him to determine a pattern as he used his advanced scouting technology and his senses together. Being created better than others was certainly something that the Shadowguard Agent enjoyed. His design and his work with the Assassins guild had certainly helped him in situations like this. Finding and tracking a target or possible enemy was of the utmost importance to hunting a target or protecting the demon goddess. He had to be on point with these things and considering they were in a possible dangerous situation, he wasn’t going to simply allow things to get out of control. If Shell and Towa were going to be handling trying to figure things out, then he was going to handle finding them. After a few moments, they arrived at a blockaded area. Mira looked back at Shell and Towa before looking at the walls and the blockage before them, ”I can create us a path, but we will need to keep this place structurally stable. We don’t need another cave in like what happened last time we were in one of these time distortions.” Shell smirked, recalling the issue they had last time. He turned his attention away from AURORA, letting the AI do her thing and moved his hands to the side, focusing a telekinetic energy around the walls, ”I can stabilize any structural damage you do rather quickly like this. Let’s just get it done quickly and move forward.”Mira braced himself for a moment, before simply charging forward. Like a football player charging through a ball carrier, he rammed his shoulder through the blockade with brute force and speed. With his massive burst it was more than enough to shatter the area and give them a path. As the area around it trembled to his power though, it was the quick work of Shell that kept things safe. The Namekian moved the telekinetic energy around rapidly, pushing parts back into place that were forced out by the impact that the Android had caused. Making sure to focus on structural points first to keep everything clear, before putting the rest of the pieces of the puzzle into place and hopefully keeping them safe from a cave in like last time. Once everything was put in place, even using parts of the blockade that Mira had shattered for further support Shell nodded his head. A sarcastic clap could be heard at the same time. Mira and Shell both looked over at Towa who seemed to be enjoying the show, ”When you two work together it is amazing what you can do. We should try that more.” She said, knowing that neither of them would really be good at working with the other. The demon goddess did like seeing though that when push came to shove, they could actually function as a unit and not just try to show the other one up. ”Let’s just move forward, we likely will find something of use if we keep progressing down this path.” Shell understood the sarcasm, but also knew she was right. Mira and Shell working together in a hostile situation would have been something that would have nearly impossible for an opponent to stop. The fact that they accidently did so in the past as they fought off opposition trying to show the other one up was not actual teamwork and more of simple overwhelming with power. Proper teamwork would be something that would make the most dangerous enemy fall before them. He knew that, and he also knew that it wasn’t going to happen that way. They continued to advance forward, eventually all three of them coming to a fork in the road. They could go left, right or keep going straight. Knowing that it was Mira that was guiding them with his tracking systems working together, both Shell and Towa looked to the Android for which path they needed to take. Mira looked in each direction, trying to determine the next direction for them, ”To the left I’m sensing something odd. Straight would lead us towards the Saiyans and the right, I’m not entirely sure of, but it will be the most stable path within these tunnels looking at the foundation as well. Which way do we want to go?”Shell looked at Towa next, he felt they were just going through motions at this point chasing the Saiyans, but would that actually lead them to answers? He hoped that the scholar would be more intrigued by the unknown than the known. Clearly they could have gone and beaten up more Saiyans and maybe found something that way, but was that what they were truly here for? The demon goddess immediately turned towards the left, ”As much as finding and beating up more Saiyans sounds fun, the odd energy is much more intriguing. Maybe we can find out what is going on or what the goal is if we follow odd creepy energy. I know we could easily just defeat anything in our path, but is that why we are here? I feel our purpose isn’t just to fight this time.”In all honestly she was right. They did not really have a stated goal for this mission, but just repeating the same thing of finding a distortion and fixing it was not the best way of solving these problems. Towa had watched the Time Patrol try these methods in times past and not really solve the problem that she was causing or even finding out that she was behind it in the first place. Those kinds of deep dives at information likely would have stopped previous attempts of hers if they had done that. Instead the Time Patrol seemed to make mistakes which allowed her to get close so many times before. Shell turned to the left path, ”I agree. If we find the cause of the problem that is better than just defeating it.”WC: 1800 (600 Each) Shell: A1: Counter Hack with AURORA A2: Stabilize the Wall A3: Reach Fork in Road A4: Choose Path Mira: A1: Tracking A2: Blow Up Blockage A3: Reach Fork in Road A4: Choose Path Towa: A1: Demonic Knowledge Check on Sensory Mess Up A2: Investigate A3: Reach Fork in Road A4: Choose Path Prepared Items: Shel: Sunstone Shard, Equivalent Exchange, Ankh of Alexandria, Ganr’s Flask Mira: Senzu Bag (Korin Bean x 4), Repair Kit, Ki Buffer, Medical Bag Towa: Fairie Dust, Pancera, Sunstone Shard, Phantom Hourglass

Post by Dr. Ghast on Mar 6, 2024 17:49:55 GMT -5
Ghast had managed to break rule one of any engagement in hostile teritory...or more precisely: hostile timeline. He hadn't kept his wits about him and had managed to be distracted by the least of his problems, rather than focusing himself on what had truly brought forth the threat on his doorstep. The result of this mistake revealed itself quite soon to the mad scientist, for strange and utterly repulsive, lifeless beings managed to take him by surprise, latching unto him and effectively starting to drain the very energy he held within himself. He could feel how they had started the process of siphoning his energy, which became even more noticeable to the doctor by the way his carefully charged and formed electro eclipse bomb started to shrink and shrivel over a short period of time.
"I should've known things were too easy from the start," At first he only tried to wriggle a bit, hoping he'd be able to shake off those pesky interlopers, but when that wasn't seemingly going to work, the doctor knew that in all likelyhood he had to actually put in an effort if he were to try and get out of this mess. Something which was made even more clear when he noticed the tendrils rising from the ground and slithering around his legs; like hungry snakes preying on their meal. "A barrier on top, tentacles and whatnot below...This just screams low budget horror flick in my opinion. Whomever's responsible for this mess must've been quite the avid fan of Deep rising, not much scientific correctness though."
All jokes aside though, the mad scientist was quite acutely aware of the trouble he was in and not taking it a bit serious would've been rather detrimental for his survival in the long run, so as he could feel the weight of the golems upon him, the doctor's course and hollow voice came through the voice box of his helmet, declaring: "Flames of Hell, Grant me strength!!"
With scalding hot, blue flames erupting around his body, his arms, legs and overal structure seemed to bulk up a bit, as if to signify the rising strength in his physique, but he wasn't done yet...for what was the use of strength when you didn't have the adequate endurance to go with it. As such, he let out a deep sigh as one after an other, his weights and restrictive equipment started to vanish from his person in rapid fashion, allowing him to move and breath more freely, despite the mindless minions hanging around his neck and arms.
"Now than...shall we end this charade we're playing?" Taking in a deep breath, Ghast suddenly swung both his hands upwards in an attempt to grab the appendages of two of the golems latched unto him and started spinning around, only stopping abruptly in order to use the force of the swiftly halted momentum to basically catapult the two golems whose appendages he had caught in his hands away from his location. However, with at least one still on his body, the time was ticking for him to make sure his energy was conserved as best as he could. Utilizing his now much more free and limber body, the faux-demon scholar slammed both his elbow backwards in an attempt to smash the remaining golem into submission and to remove it forcefully with all his strength.
Despite the thought of having freed himself of his immediate burden would have at the very least given the doctor some reason to feel good about himself, there was still the issue of the tendrils and tentacles slithering up towards him. Dealing with each and every tendril individually would've been an issue and using one of his more massive techniques would've likely caused issues among those who had been with him when this all started...not that he cared too much about the wellbeing of those others, but given the situation it was better to have some outs and not be on one's own.
In the end, the decision was clear, he had to use a more pinpoint acuracy technique with a larger range and a decent bang, so it didn't take much contemplation to decide to go with the dirtier fireworks technique he had in his arsenal. He hadn't used it all that often, but this was an opportune time to see how effective it could be. While energy started to course within the mad man's left hand, he scoured the area below him for a point where the tendrils reaching for him were closest together, all for the sake of minimizing the rate of errors in his calculations and predictions.
Stretching out his hand, the doctor's voice once again came through his voice box in a rather hollow, yet still loud sounding shout: "Bye bye!!", after which the enrgy which had accumulated within his left hand instantly shot out at an insane speed towards the chosen spot, erupting in a spectacular explosion when it made contact with the first thing disrupting the energy's stability...

Post by Yua on Mar 6, 2024 18:48:56 GMT -5
Yua rarely put herself in a situation where she could be sensed out, since she preferred to not be so easily caught out. Though she told the Saiyan to follow her, it was more to see if he'd be able to live through this. Since he didn't seem like her master, she didn't think that it was Shaoran, but who knew? She didn't want to think about it, either, because he'd be a coward of that was the case. She stayed silent as the Saiyan followed after her, his eyes narrowed on the android. He had long since figured out she was an android, the lack of a ki signature gave that away almost immediately. But why was she here? And those clothes were not exactly an assistance in this case. But she decided that it was best to keep him around, since she wasn’t sure if he was, or was not, with the cult. They could have had a disagreement, but she found that it was unlikely. He had a tail, after all. She looked on as she went back through the cavern that led to where the two had met - and to her at least - there seemed to be quite a number of statues down here. But she thought that that was strange. These were most likely corpses, by the look on that man’s face. She was concerned at this point, and for good reasons, that she had stumbled into what many would have called “a mess”. But that was just it with the Time Patrol, wasn’t it? She sighed lightly before the two came to another chamber, where more rock bodies were. But as they got nearer, Yua slowed and stopped before she came to the new room. Within danced lights equal to the number of the bodies. How many of them were this man’s former comrades? It likely didn’t matter, but she wondered if the concrete above, well, if something in it blocked these souls from being taken? Or rather, were they souls? Something definitely felt off about this. The woman moved forward quietly and stayed near the entrance of the room as she decided to quest out with her psychic senses. While she did so, her vision attempted to gain intel about above, or even within the tunnels. Even with her advanced scanners, something was way off. This type of interference, was it a jam, or was it something else? Nothing in this timeline should have been able to do this, she thought to herself. So Yua focused her efforts as she used her hand to guide her investigation. The first thing she wanted to do was check id those stone bodies indeed were dead, a confirmation was not a bad idea. She quested for a mind here besides the Saiyan behind her first, hopefully among the bodies. She moved the inquisitive connection towards the lights. If they were souls, perhaps she could check on the condition of them? If they weren’t souls, she decided to try and bend one to her will. This started with the one furthest in the back. She strained her hand and mind to see if she could bend this thing, or being, to her own will. Silent behind her, the Saiyan looked more unsettled by the moment. He didn’t think that a machine could gain the ability to use physic abilities. He felt the wave prick his mind, only as if she checked that he was in his own right mind, he guessed. Of course he wasn’t! He was in a tunnel with a strange, black robbed woman, and his comrades were either dead or scattered. He whispered in a harsh tone, “What are you doing, witch?” It was about the best he could call her. A mechanical witch. “Investigation,” she replied with a sharp tone. One that told the Saiyan to shut it. She needed to figure these lights out, as they were either friendly, or not. What she wanted that light furthest away from her to do was answer questions, between them if it could. If it wasn’t sentient, but had something more sinister about it, then they might be in trouble. She was no witch, and certainly not an exorcist. Actions: 1. Check stone bodies for a mind 2. Check for sentience in light 3t-Saiyan Ally.
