"Strange..." Was all the doctor could mutter when he felt his blade absorbing the energy from the eldritch beast's attack consisting out of the obviously odd and unique energy. However, perhaps this word would have been more applicable to the beast itself, when it became quite clear that where the mad scientist's technique with his blade had been performed flawlessly; the effect thereof was lacking and in truth rather surprisingly underwhelming. "Very...odd."
Though he could've mulled over this whole ordeal in his rather precarious position so close in the beast's range, what happened next seemed to draw not just his own attention, but also that of the eldritch monstrosity. The tremors came out of nowhere, forcing all to their knees, sending shockwaves throghout the area with such force and ferocity that not even the doctor, who had been to a multitude of vile and violent places could properly hold his footing, having been forced down to one knee just to stay stable.
"What the...?!" Looking up, Ghast could see how the ruined remains of the city around them tumbled and crumbled, while a massive, brilliant light engulfed parts of the city in the distance, but though the doctor couldn't properly see the explosion itself, the light seering through his helmet's protective lenses and the displacement of air, rubble and debris was enough to notify the mad scientist that something had been at hand, something perhaps more dangerous and devastating than the very monster the few remaining warriors seemed to be facing. Lucky for him though, he WAS interested in what was closer by though and though he had been shaken by the tremors, the eldritch beastie still demanded most, if not all of his attention for now. After all, the energy of the beast had already been absorbed by his blade, so perhaps it was high time to see what the effects would be if he were to utilize that very energy for himself.
Gripping the hilts of both of the weapons he was now carrying tightly, the doctor stood up again, leaning a bit forwards, while he took in a deep breath, deciding to take it up a notch in order to see whether or not it was purely the lack of power within the technique or his own power that was lacking.
"Flames of Hell, grant me strength!" As soon as those words reverberated into the air through the mad scientist's voice box, an inferno of teal-colored flames burst out of the doctor's body, fueling him with a strength that could intoxicate anyone who wasn't used to the sudden growth he experienced. His frame creaked, his bones thickening and expanding, buffing the doctor's overall size and shape up by quite a good margin, before he suddenly shot forwards again towards the eldritch beast with a speed he hadn't displayed up to this point.
Swooping over the battlefield like a black flash, the mad man raced towards the beast again, fully intending to stay as close to the beast's outside 'shell', furiously stabbing, thrusting, hacking and slashing with both blades as he ran circles around the beast. Tentacles, limbs, body parts, strange energy, it didn't matter what he would be able to reach with his blades, he'd attempt to cut anything in his path regardless of the size of the obstacle.
"Let's see the results for now," Jumping backwards in a large leap at the closing end of his technique, the doctor sheathed both of his weapons as he reached for his scouter, shifting through the programs of the device until he decided to utilize the bio scanner in order to allow it to start scanning and analyze this particular monstrous being and get himself at least a better idea of what they'd all been dealing with.
While the device was doing its job, hoping that perhaps a bit of stimulation would aid the scouter's bio scanner with figuring out how this particular opponent worked, what essentially made it tick, the doctor's left arm rose into the air, stretching out straight in front of him as he opened up his hand and stretched out his fingers. Strange, pure white energy started to form at his finger tips, which slowly became a blueish tint of purple when the doctor closed his fingers, letting the fingertips touch each other. With a crackle, the energy that had been built up by Ghast suddenly got launched towards the eldritch beast with great speed in the form of a relatively thin, yet potent beam of energy. "Do entertain me some more...it would be rather frustrating if I couldn't get any more data from you, my little beastie."

Nelgae was usually not this “careless”, but he did not think that Earth buildings were this sensitive to his touch. His digging caught attention, but then the insectoid turned his head as his crimson eyes flashed. Saiyans had decided to engage the alien bug, and that was a huge mistake on their part. But that just meant more meals for the two Klaxxi. He turned his gray bulk, imposed upon them his size and then his power roiled out like a wave of heat. His long main arms spread a bit, as he prepared himself to rush at them, to tear at his foes and eat them. It would be glorious after all this sneaking about and - hold on a moment - the ground rumbled as he staggered a moment, one long arm moved up to defend the Queen from a fall if she started to fall.
But that was just a little concern, for one of his allies moved forward as the Saiyans advanced towards the former Arlian Champion. They likely didn’t know or care that an Arlian Champion was here. Hell, it was likely that they hadn’t even known about the bug. But the issues wasn’t with these weaklings, it was with the girl that moved on an interception course. “What could she d-” Nelgae stopped himself as his psychic sense threw him for a loop. This crazy woman was about to destroy the area around the group. He hissed, an actual cuss in the Klaxxi tongue, before his body tensed. It wasn't like humans that got a sense in the air from the hair on their body.
His senses caught it like a scent on the wind. Crackled, what one might have thought to be a slow burn. He dashed like a crazy person to meet Anna halfway, his body swift like wind, his senses screamed at him to run to her. Or else he'd need to flash away. But to where could the bug flash? His ability to sense was messed with, no ki and the ability to track ki was interfered with. He assumed that it was the barrier. Like soe warriors, the abil- no, this was hardly the time think about that. He took a position right next to Anna, and took a stance to defend both Wriggle and Anna, as he pulled both his arms to his sides. A barrel on his right hand showed, just behind the wrist joint as he summoned out something like a gun.
And then t-minus zero. Like the power of a nuclear bomb, the ki flared up and spread ruin, as he stayed within the circle. It was the only space in the battlefield that wasn't thrown up and crushed into deries by the attack. A show of force, he supposed, and one that the bug respected about this woman. She was insane, to be sure, but he respected that. It seemed that he held his breath, and then when it all settled down, he felt like he could suck air in once more. Maybe it only lasted a moment, maybe minutes. Hard to tell when one saw attacks like that used. He was only lucky that she had given him some warning.
His gaze swung towards the girl that had attacked as he turned, and then back towards the group of Saiyans, if any remained alive, before he grunted and looked back towards Anna. “You are mad. But it’s not like I don’t appreciate the assistance.” Well, he would have rather eaten his foes, but that might have been in bad taste. He saw other Saiyans that were probably the allies of Anna and Yan? He wondered if that little robot was one of their main companions, or maybe it was just a temporary one. Perhaps after this one was done he could eat the cow?
Discard the idea. It was best to focus. "What was that first quake about?" It should have been an easy answer. It probably wasn't.
He would have went back to searching for something useful, but Anna had dropped the equivalent to a nuke on the area. He wondered if there was anything that could even be found in the further dusty ruin. Most unlikely.

At Anna’s ‘Yessir’ Yan made a small face that his Saiyan friends could not see, that Anna also seemed to miss. She was playing him off to be the superior, but that didn’t make sense in Saiyan culture. She had to be the Elite. Hadn’t he said that to the Saiyans? It seemed they were too stupid to notice however, and looking back to them he saw that they were looking at him with newfound scrutiny. If Anna was serving him, that meant he was stronger and suppressing his strength, at least that’s how it usually worked with Saiyans.
All Yan could do was meet their stares with the coldest of his gazes. Even with no power level behind him, that stare was enough to turn a chill over anyone with some sense. Yan might not have the power to back him up on things, but he never showed that. His recklessness replaced it, and that cold stare said you might die. The reality was Yan might die too, but besides a certain crazy you could see under the ice, it was mostly intimidating.
Yan hadn’t paid Nelgae much mind since he appeared, and after being steadfastly ignored by the Arlian Champion, mostly forgot about him. He did not however forget about Wriggle, who Anna seemed to know, and took notice to how Nelgae doted on the queen. He knew a little about Klaxxi culture, and while Wriggle still didn’t look quite Klaxxi, he figured he understood the dynamic enough.
Judging from her power level, and Anna’s overall friendliness, because let’s face it, the Anna of this timeline only had one friend besides him, that she was from the future as well, which honestly left a lot more questions. With all this timeline disruption, he wondered absently what would happen to him at the end of it, and this new branch in time. He might cease to exist entirely at the end of this, and even if he didn’t, he wasn’t sure how he’d handle the future in front of him going forward from what he’d seen today.
Of course, the priority should be to survive the day, and so he looked around for some sign of anything, and ended up finding a little golem shard. Picking it up, he held it to the barrier’s light, pushing his senses around it to try and get a better grasp of the things they were fighting.
Hertz sat on his cow staring off into the sunset, only it wasn’t a sunset it was an all encompassing redhaze from the barrier. He stared out ahead anyway, his tongue out sideways as he seemed to think of nothing at all, and from what they had seen thus far, that might be accurate but in the times where Hertz mind went blank, Juturna filled it and an understanding of the situation came back to him, though mostly on a subconscious level.
His princess was trying to protect the red guy. Mother liked the red guy too, so Hertz must protect the red guy. The golem monsters would try and suck him dry of ki if he let them touch him so he couldn’t let them touch him. The Saiyans were his friends.
He turned his head, looking dumbly down at the trio of Saiyans who practically jumped back when they felt his attention on them, as if the killer droid might try to assimilate them. Hertz smiled and wave his pawed hand.
”No,” Yan offered, lifting his gaze to the ongoing conflict. It was at this point however that Nelgae made a very bad roll. Anna caught it first, or at least the full repercussions of the action, which was impressive considering the world started trembling a moment after.
Yan dug one foot into the ground, planting himself there with a calculated movement so it looked like he managed to stay up by stance alone. The Saiyans weren’t so steady, nor was Hertz cow, and the robot dog fell off it head first, somehow managing to stay upright as such when the quake was over.
Yan almost didn’t hear Anna. He did, but his attention at that point and time were fixed completely on the explosion. If this was present Yan, Juturna would have been able to tell him it was Mira. As it was, his inexperience in the Shadowguard just gave him a sense of chaos being disrupted only to create something even more maddening. Once more, he investigated the barrier, and what exactly had changed with this new development. He only gave Anna a hand gesture of agreement.
Unfortunately, Hertz didn’t seem to hear her either. As Anna moved to take off he spun in a wild circle on his head then as if enacting a dance move landed on his feet and ran with her.
”I’m running~ I’m running~” he sang, keeping pace with her slow compared to her power level ass. It was a little tricky, but he arrived in time to enter her safety zone, then planted his feet in front of the Saiyans, his eyes going red and his arms out as if he were going to protect the group from any surviving Golems…
Well, he was mostly in her safety zone. Despite his planted feet the rush of air from Anna’s explosion sent his extremely lightweight form flying.
”Wheeeeeeee!” he said as he sailed back only to crash right into the largest mass there--Nelgae. ”Thunk,” he let out even though his actual thunk required no need for a sound effect, and his arm grew to latch onto Nelgae’s shoulder, manhandling him as he manhandled Gohan.
”Oh hello, bug lady,” he said, finding himself face to face with Wriggle on Nelgae’s shoulder. His already wide blue eyes went even wider, and then his other arm landed on her shoulder and he threw himself right over her and back onto the ground, running towards something he caught sight of. Something shiny.
After sensing the explosion, Yan stretched his senses out in a generalized way again. He knew he should try and focus on one thing, but he was looking for the things that stood out the most, the big red flashing signs. There wasn’t anyone he was hoping to find except Juch, who he couldn’t sense anyway, but if Wriggle was here, then it was possible there were other time travelers, and other battles that might give them more clues as to what was going on.
When Anna’s blast cleared, Yan shot a look at the idiot trio, taking on the role of their commander now, and obviously expecting something from them. Having had enough convincing from Yan thus far, hopefully they would offer a good case as to why these new Saiyans should follow them, besides Anna’s awe stopping strength. If not, well, he’d be back to talking soon, maybe with some more information.

It has been said in many a situation in order to aid others you must see to your own needs first like situations of mutual peril such as a car crash seeing to your own gushing blood before you can aid others or in a plane going down to secure ones own oxygen mask before tending to friends ensuring the well being of one's self in order to see to the well being of others is a more practical way of seeing to long term aid to be offered, the android remembered his reckless bold ways in this event and it rendered the need of his friend to expose himself to peril and give his life to save him, reckless well meaning still reckless. A lull in hostilities offered an opening for aiding the others, the doc seemed well by most measures, so he should aid EP3 and Tarble.
He tossed up an arm, allowing a shot of TK to uplift EP3 out of her little pit.
Her gyroscopic stabilizers engaged on contact, allowing her to land stable but not entirely with grace as she was not expecting just how fast the retrieval was.
She dusted herself off and rushed to Tarble’s side.
She offered what comfort she could, like water and comforting rubs if it would help the no doubt worn raw mussels and nerves.
Vlad floated to him and extended both of his hands to Tarble, and they started glowing, sending photons of nano robots with accelerates to push the saiyans natural own recovery to a vastly accelerated degree.
After 2 pulses each of this radiant healing, his hands slowly stopped glowing. “You are quite the tenacious warrior, hope this makes up for my earlier failed attempts to assist you.” he smiled and gave a thumbs up.
After getting a reaction, Vlad played back in his head all the punishment that creature took and projections on probable thresholds the thing may have and was disheartened by the probability reads.
”could have done as much as a ruptured kidney to as little as a dislocated arm!” he shook his head
Vlad felt a hard tug that this would be getting worse far before it got better, the calm before the storm, the brief lull in quakes before a volcano blows its top. Something like that was in the potentially paranoid android’s mind, the secrets of the events of this disorganized by sapient observations and individual uncertainty of what transpired in totality as he spent a noteworthy measure of events off-line.
The android attempted to suspend a measure of his core personality in order to improve his recollection of events and where they probabilistic would be headed into.
“Reallocating 40% cognitive processing resources to attempt to chart probabilistic chain of causality out of historical recorded passages of events, overlaying historical records with surroundings, surveying area…” he snapped from surviving landmark to ruined street corner “compiling...cross referencing data… incorporating to overlay data, processing results...processing...processing…”
Vlad sounded far flatter than usual and his face was absent of any clear emotion, the glow in his eye far more centralized and less of the clouded full of surging mental activity and emotion, tho clouds did linger.
EP3 frowned, it was within every androids' capacity to regress their more complex sapient mentality to focus more acutely on a task or to pick at memories unimpaired by the advanced individualized cognition slowing or torpedoing the tactic all together.
She understood that and how it could be handy to do every now and then, but did not mean she liked seeing it, especially her mentor. See him go from a warm smile and kind eyes to an unfeeling as stone blank face and eyes fixed like a laser target sniper riffle at objectives.
The gynoid shivered a little as she caught eye to eye with Vlad in his diminished state.

Lemon sighed as the creature under her died, and she wiped her brow. She rarely let herself get swept up in these life of death things, but she was glad that she could access her demon side, that more animal side, of herself when the time called for it. The unforunte part about this, however, was how it narrowed her mind. As the girl looked up and about, something felt very, very off as she pulled her gun free from the caved in body of the thing under her. She gave a quick once over, noted the burns and the blunted tip, and then the hair on the back of her neck crawled.
One thing ran through her mind: run. It didn't matter where, except for where she felt that the build up of this dread came from. She absolutely started to just book it away from the two girls, in some ne direction. Her eyes dilated, her movements no longer held that cat-like poise that she had before. Pure instinct told her to just take off. She wasn't even sure what it was, but she just started to move and move as fast as her legs could carry her. In her scramble, she had barely slung the rifle as she used a hand to get her going faster.
She didn't even have a spare moment to note that in her animal brain, Cauli had made a mistake. She attempted a defense that her animal brain said was wrong. Lemon was not nearly as strong as her two companions, so she had just took off in a mad dash to get away from the situation. Her eyes wider, anderlinaline pumped through her, she didn't know if she could get away. But she had to try. And then the world behind her erupted as power bloomed to life behind her.
Lemon stayed just ahead of it as she moved fast as she could, her legs pumped as hard as they could. She even went to all fours to assist her in speed as she sweated more than usual. Her usual temperature was freezing, and she had usually used a suit to help her retain body heat. This would likely work against her at the end of this scramble to get away, but she didn't think about that. Even if she passed by enemies, she would just fucking book it. She didn't have the time or the energy to spare to get away from the blast, but once it started to subside, she would pause.
That was, if it ended within seconds. If not, she still had to slow down, and then pause if it stopped. She couldn't sense energy or power levels, but something warned her that she would be mere cinders if that thing touched her, and it had likely licked at her back, or tail, whichever the heat found first. She panted heavily, as the demoness, on all fours still, looked back an hoped to see Riki and Cauli and no one else. And then she started to look around her, hopeful that she hadn't gotten out of the frying pan and into boiled water.

Post by Riki on Mar 13, 2024 13:48:24 GMT -5
As the ground began to rumble, Riki found herself closer to Cauli than Lemon, but was quickly able to determine that the earthquake was not caused by the girl but by something below. Her aura flared and her stance shifted as she took a moment to try and get a grasp on what was happening before she went to move.
She went to move, but then she stopped. Cauli was not moving. Cauli had managed to slow down the explosion’s spread and now looked on the verge of passing out as the explosion threatened to engulf her. There was no way her demon magic was going to save her through the power of this massive explosion. It was just too much power, but she was really all or nothing-ing it. With a flash step, Riki got to Cauli and grabbed the girl’s arm before her speed kicked up another decimeter, her foot slamming into the ground before it shot her forward like a damn rocket to get out of the as fast as humanly, or super humanly, as possible.
The delay would likely not get her out completely unharmed, as it definitely hadn’t saved Cauli, which meant she was grabbing an arm that was on fire, but so was the life of a hero! The overall speed unleashed was also more than she could handle well in such desperation, meaning her landing was a crash one, sending her and the girl tumbling to the ground in a roll, but at least out of range. One hoped.
Assuming she got there, Riki would have a chance to look up to the barrier as the energy got wickedly absorbed, and used her senses and understanding of the barrier to try and determine exactly what consequences however did this shit had unleashed upon them.

Post by Yua on Mar 13, 2024 14:50:10 GMT -5
Yua was one of those perfectionists that did her best not to mess anything up, and certainly never wanted to fail at her duties. She just tried to not stand out in many aspects, as attention wasn't something that she dealt with well. Avalon and the universe may have moved on, mostly, from the Steel Legion. That, in itself, didn’t mean that everyone had. She knew that there were still people that would never forgive any androids because of the Legion. It was with a heavy decision that she had decided to take up the mantle of General, and she had never thought that it would be anything less or more than taking on public criticism.
That was all changed in an instant as Yua watched as her efforts didn’t play out as much as she wanted. Mira had still sucked in more light orbs than she thought possible - had sucked them up faster than she had thought possible. Even as he started to bulk up, and bloat, the Saiyan grabbed her arm and threw her away from there, towards Shell and the golems as she seemed to know that Namekian. “Get the hell outta here!” He shouted at her, before the man turned around and started to channel his ki into a barrier.
It wouldn’t do much. They all knew he didn’t have the power to delay more than a second or two. At best.
Yua was able to touch Shell, but she had not done so, but she had trust that Shell could get them out of here. She wasn’t sure about Mira, but the woman had taken the eye of her fellow android and wondered what that was about. But Yua didn’t have time to question much, like who she was and what Shell was doing with her. For all she knew, they were an item, though if she recalled, Namekians didn’t have “lovers” to produce eggs…
Her mind clicked as she looked at the Saiyan that she had been with, and it was too late to save him, either. He had their back to them, and then the group vanished. Yua got an emergency request, but since Shell was gone, the interference was back, or so it seemed. Maybe it was just Yua’s panic, but her senses caught something through the ceiling that had started to collapse. It was a huge power level, and she guessed that it was Shell. She didn’t have time to verify, she just teleported.
Poof, gone, and the Saiyan grinned to himself. He never thought he’d help an and-
He was gone in a blaze of flames, no glory in battle, and no honor in his death. Except, perhaps, that he had thrown the android away to try and save her.
Where the android landed was not next to the Namekian and his mysterious companion. Instead, she landed on her butt near a young woman with brown hair, outside of the blast radius. She was not exactly sure who any of these people where, not the demons and certainly not the human girl she landed near. Yua had landed in a hurry, and with her dark robes and cracked helmet that showed blonde hair, she hoped that none of them would mistake her as a Cultist of the Sun. Yua pushed herself up as she wondered if she could help the group, but remained on edge, since she wasn’t sure what exactly she had gotten herself into now. For the moment, Yua used her bio-scanner to check up on their conditions, and to be able to more easily heal them if needed.

Kale quietly stood beside Gohan as she awaited the young Half-blood to decide on his next move. She decided to just rove around the area while still staying close to Gohan. The last thing she wanted was to be by herself during all this pandemonium. A sudden tremors of the ground made the Saiyan scurry and try to find something to duck for cover but the shaking off the ground made her lose footing and she fell.
While looking around and getting back up she saw the Half-Saiyan astutely closed off the mouth of the ceiling above them. She at least felt relaxed to know there would be something to prevent or at least buy them time if something came to strike from above them.
Then the Gohan made another clever move. Using a split-form technique while supressing the power of his main self to lure away the threat near their vicinity.
When Gohan called for her to follow she quickly flew following the Half-blood to where he took flight.

It was perhaps hubris that made Cauli think she could use magic to transmute a power larger than Mira’s, a power tapped into the billions of lives, and thus power, of the barrier itself. They were not directly over Mira, meaning there was a bit more time, and her ability did work in pushing back the blast until ultimately it became too much and engulfed her. The destructive power had waned some in the distance but not the pure power of it. Her flames danced and then she was swept up in it, in the barrier.
It had caught her, and trapped her, and now she was to be one in the billions trapped in it. It was an ocean of emotion and pain and she could feel a force far darker than anything else she had ever experienced. In the barrier, crushed in that sea of people so tightly that she felt like being drowned in sand, she could see that massive eye peering down into her soul and finding her unworthy.
And then she was yanked back. Riki used her exceptional speed to grab Cauli and rip her from the blast’s grasp, but she was not fast enough to completely escape it as the explosion gave chase and ultimately slammed into her with crushing force that threw her further from the blast itself and hard into the ground. But she did escape, and she did pull Cauli out with her, which was very fortunate, because if she looked back to where the explosion had thrown her from, she would find that it was engulfed in a storm.
A cylinder had risen in place of the explosion of a thick inky smoke that moved like flames still burning. Inside energy exploded in chain reactions, lighting up the darkness to a crimson red as bolts of red lightning crashed and thundered. It was so loud where Riki had landed, like rushing winds and impact drums all colliding.
Riki’s earlier connection to the barrier did help her understand better, and it seemed that the construct had stretched itself out further, that it had expanded from some great power and now reality was shifting in that circle, while the smoke billowed and stretched with a sense that if she touched it, there would be dire consequences.
Yua had a much lessened understanding of what Mira had created, but a warrior’s instinct rang true that this storm was extremely dangerous, and penetrating the wall where she had once been was sure death.
It seemed like the cylinder had made a funnel in the storm, but the smoke drifted from it, bolts of lightning escaped it, and it was clear that it was in fact expanding, but very slowly. Riki, and thus Yua, had not made it very far from the edge and they did not move quickly, they would be the next victim.
Yua was able to access their damages on closer inspection, noting the injures to Riki’s side where she’d been caught and spun, along with some burns from Cauli’s fire, and the frontal damage Cauli took before taking a definite concussive blast, not to mention the damage Riki had done her arm.
Lemon had gotten farther away, but could still see the ominous wall that had been created in the blast radius. Not only that, she could hear screams and shouts. Her mad dash had brought her closer to the barrier’s edge and she could definitely tell that there were people to the north of her, though whether they had been impacted by the blast's new circumference might make up for all the shouting. Her allies were east, still in range of sight and she could easily make it back to them, though that meant approaching whatever that explosion had created, and her animal instinct remained in play telling her to run from it instead.

Vlad managed to regroup through the earthquakes reprieve, plucking EP-3 out of the ground and making their way to Tarble who seemed to have been momentarily stunned, unable to respond. Vlad’s nanobots made their way into the Saiyan’s system, ignoring the surface wounds to go at the larger issue in Tarble’s organ damage and pelvis. At the end, Tarble still looked like absolute shit, and he still held a lot of damage, but moving would definitely be easier now, even if each breath still threatened to wheeze, though his lungs were safe for the moment.
After healing him Vlad tried to do something a bit questionable. From the beginning, even the Time Patrol did not have very much data on what had happened inside the barrier. The trauma responses were extremely high in the few survivors while the Saiyan empire hushed the ones who could speak. Heroes like Agatha Jo and Bulma Briefs kept their discoveries to themselves, trying to smoke out the cult in another large arena, but nothing came of it.
Thus, if Vlad was trying to find out what happened in the spot he was in right now at the present time without his group’s interference…there wasn’t much data to go by. He had what the area looked like when the barrier dropped, and that at least told him that this battle had not happened here. The destruction this monster was causing now did not exist in the original timeline. If he scanned the entire city looking for similar attacks he would find some traces of it closer to the summit where a halfling Saiyan prince had disappeared in the chaos.
It seemed that this creature had acted then, but had needed much less force, the damage showing the tentacle-like attacks and questionable energy signatures but not the wanton destruction it was creating now. If it had gone after that prince, he had not fought back as Tarble and Gotenks were now. Just as there was no history of the prince being found on Earth again until months later where he appeared on the other side of the galaxy, likely revived after a four week stay in the next dimension, there were no traces of this monster either. It seemed it and the prince vanished quite easily.
Time had changed drastically with their entrance, and now even more so with whatever had just caused that massive explosion. Looking back wouldn’t do him much good. There were simply too many new players.
Meanwhile, Vlad had bigger problems.
Eyes throughout the creature’s body rolled around as its stupor ended, taking in the focus of many all at once, sending crippling phobia like waves of panic outward. It could not reach its master, but its prey was still here. Those who were used to oddities such as itself probably would be fine, but others? It took in the many slashes and slices of the black flash that was Ghast, wailing with indescribable screams. It was difficult to tell if they were of pain, annoyance, or anger but with how it echoed it could most definitely be a mixture of all three. The screams intensified as orifices opened all along its body, with jagged teeth and flailing tongues.
The beam of energy from that same black flash, one that slowed to a stand still to fire it, pierced through an eye, which made another cacophony of screams exit its many open lips and out came countless of tiny spores that quickly filled the area around them. They were the same size as a small green pea, and looked like tiny bubbles with thin tendrils that gave the impression that these spores were alive.
Each spore had a tiny slit which would open to be an eyeball. Every eye ball widened with veins cracking toward the shrunken pupils and that seemed to be the signal that the spores needed to set off an explosion from each pea sized spore.
Every explosion happened right after each other and from a far it would look like a massive nuke sized explosion was happening, but within the space, it was a grouping of millions of smaller explosions that could very well rip the beast’s enemies into pieces. Boom after Boom ripped everything apart, and the beast continued to scream, adding a symphony of destruction to the backdrop to the explosions.
Once the power had died down, leaving behind dust and debris to hide the entire battlefield, several tendrils shot through the thick dust clouds like long spears that were thrown toward Tarble and the two androids, Vlad and EP-3 with intent to impale their bodies like a shish kabob.
The monster was angry and focused again on the lost prince. After that set of tendrils tried to impale him and his friends, another set chased after them with the same intent, but this time spikes would spread from the tendrils to make them even deadlier if they were to impale the three.
Its varied screams all began to sound the same in its echo as all of its eyes moved around recklessly as if searching for its prey. Only it was not searching for it very well, letting everything be its prey for the moment, and it drove tendrils deep into the ground causing the ground to shake just about as bad as it shook just moments before the barrier itself changed red.
After a few moments, thick pillars of dark editrich energy shot out of the ground and upward toward the skies with reckless abandon, threatening them all. Each warrior would feel the ground shake and moments after a dark murky column of energy twice the size of their own bodies would shoot upward with fatal force.
Then suddenly, all of its eyes focused on that precious prey, its focus: Gotenks, and the eyes fired beams of energy that converged at one singular target, Gotenks’ face.

Mira’s actions had definitely caused quite the commotion, and an unhealthy distraction from everything else going on. If AURORA had something to tell Shell after trying to counter hack, well, it understandably had to wait. Too many things happened at once, and too much was left until the last minute. Now however, after some diversions, the world had settled again…
Well, as much as this post-apocalyptic world could settle. Shell and Towa had returned to their starting point, closer to the center of the city, and at the least they had not teleported into an immediately dangerous situation. After Mira’s destruction the barrier tinging the world red seemed to have darkened to a crimson.
With Towa and Shell’s quick exit they were able to see the impact Mira’s destruction had wrought. The trademark mushroom cloud had risen where Towa had left her partner, but rather a smokey brownish cloud, Mira had left an inky black plume that seemed to have energy still exploding inside it. As they did, parts of the plume lit up a smokey crimson, as red bolts of lightning flashed around inside it.
Mira had definitely triggered something within the barrier. Before it was merely releasing those small spheres of light meant to infest the statues of the once living to turn into its ghastly servants. Those creatures were not powerful by nature, only human or animal before that with very weak resistances while being unable to fully tap into the barrier’s power as they had access to. Such things had made small armies with plenty of power in the barrier to spare to keep it operational and impenetrable. Now, Mira’s power level had fueled it.
Towa had been able to save Mira’s soul but all the power inside of him had fed the barrier as this demonic ritual had intended, and Mira had a lot of power. It seemed that in this new awakening the barrier had decided its lights weren’t enough, and had completely altered the section of the city where Mira had exploded. She could sense a great force building there. It was not pure power like the barrier itself but something past the normal scheme of reality. The space Mira had created was bending reality as it wished, preparing to bring something out that did not belong in any timeline, something that had no purpose in a civilized world.
Yet, the power of the barrier flowed through that storm, and trying to enter it would surely spell death as quickly as it did to Mira. He had created something they could not take back, but one could hope that maybe, if they could stop the final pieces of this ritual whatever they were, the damage could be mostly dispelled just as the barrier had somehow been done so many years ago.
Towa wondered why someone would mess with this point in time. It wasn’t as big of an event as the Galactic War. It was just a normal Earth city exploding as they did every day, but now things were gaining clarity. In the past, it was possible the barrier hadn’t gained enough power. It was possible that empowering the Saiyans wasn’t about them at all. Maybe they just wanted more power to this barrier, more interference to whatever had caused this ritual to fail, because while the event had ended up inconsequential, it had the potential to be a devastating split in time.
The explosion was now southwest of them.
While Towa assessed this power, Shell took the moment to access the world they had left behind. Returning to the service returned his ability to sense and his scouter was no longer on a complete fritz. Such things were not as good as they normally were, the barrier itself seeming to provide some interference still, but if he extended himself he could probably get a better grasp of things without the strong powers pinging about.
From a single assessment he could already tell two things. There was a massive power struggle going on to the east of them--some type of major battle with a very powerful and foreboding energy that seemed to roll off it in waves, an enemy deserving of Mira’s new hell hole, if it got there. It had just caused a massive amount of explosions.
The second was another explosion of power that happened southeast of him. This power was definitely beyond what was supposed to be in this timeline, but at least seemed more controlled.
But, we’re not forgetting Juturna’s friend this post. AURORA had hit a little bit of success before Mira had exploded and with some more prodding came across something rather strange. She was unable to get any locational data thus far but she was able to access some files on biological experimentation. It was some very shady stuff, giving Damaskia a run for their money, but it seemed whoever was messing with her messages had done some studies on Saiyan royalty genetics as well as some experiments with smaller DNA samples including the entire arm of a Saiyan Prince. The results of these studies were encoded still, but there was definitely a sense of success. Whatever they were trying to do with the DNA had been successful.
Considering there was a missing Saiyan prince, it seemed like they had decided they wanted an even larger sample.
Her attempt to regain contact with Yua however was a failure, but that did not mean the android was dead or completely unreachable, though it did not mean she was alive either.

The cave in separated the Saiyans causing four of them to immediately draw back shouting and trying to get some type of contact. There were muffled sounds that could be heard from the other side suggesting it hadn’t been too large a cave in on that side. Still, it seemed they weren’t completely immune to the scouter interference. It took a moment but one of them seemed to get a message through to the others, just a typical ‘do you read me’ and ‘hello,’ and the crackling on the device in response was enough to pull the Saiyan’s attention off of Gohan and back to his allies.
It was only a brief pause, a glimmer of hope, and as the radio claimed some type of safety, one could assume from their body language as the voice through the machine was still garbled enough Gohan wouldn’t be able to understand exactly what was said, the Saiyan immediately looked back down the open tunnel with new suspicion, like he had nothing better to look at, and he kind of didn’t if they were going to be trapped here trying to dig out allies.
But then Gohan went running out. His sudden appearance caught the Saiyans off guard for sure, and they spun on him quickly, with the original Saiyan getting the largest jump…but it was very obvious they were not expecting him at all. I mean, who would expect some random child to literally drill underground to find this section of tunnel? There were some humans floating around but that was a task being handled by the others. None of them would have gotten this far.
So there was genuine confusion, and in that hesitation, especially after the recent cave in, but luckily for Gohan, the original Saiyan was brazen as he was pretending to be.
”Get him!” he shouted, and immediately charged into the boy’s attack, followed by two others while the fourth looked at them like they were idiots. And then, to make matters more entertaining, Kale, for some reason delirious after her fall, heard Gohan call out to her and immediately flew right into the net as well.
Normally the technique was meant to entrap someone inside it to start, exploding when they made contact with it in their attempts to escape. The way Gohan used it was essentially setting up a mesh of live wire, and as the four Saiyans ran into it, it expectedly exploded. Kale was thrown back with original Gohan while the others were sent flying back to the poor smart guy who didn’t charge right in, and the tunnels shook some more, piles of wall coming apart but avoiding a full cave in.
It seemed Gohan’s trick was very effective, if one ignored Kale’s running into it only half reading what she needed to reply to, but before he could celebrate the sound of a slow clap could be heard behind the brazen deca. The source of it was too far down the tunnel for him to have seen without sticking his neck out, but there was one more Saiyan that had not run for the cave in to check if his allies were okay.
He looked very…Saiyan. There was nothing standout about him except he wore armor that was not Saiyan Empire, and despite his commanding presence did not possess a tail. None of the Saiyans in this cave did. He seemed perfectly adult to Gohan however, and it seemed he had miscalculated a small bit.
”Is that all?” the Saiyan Elite asked, his hands dropping from their raised clap to cross his arms over his chest, seemingly unimpressed with the boy’s antics, but perhaps even less impressed by his troops falling for it. He had no words for Kale.
Now however it seemed Gohan did have some time. The Saiyan was offering it to him to see what he would do next. He could try and get in a fight that was very obviously five against one since Kale just proved she couldn’t be trusted for anything, or he could take advantage of the instability of the caves and try and talk his way out of this. Or maybe he had another trick to get by this Saiyan Elite?
The Saiyans weren’t on record being very powerful, but time anomalies had reported that some had been affected in ways that made them stronger than they were supposed to be in this timeline…though one doubted Chronoa told any of that to Gohan, and with senses and scouters on the fritz, there was no telling how powerful this man was. All he could tell was that his attack had merely stunned the Saiyans it hit, causing a good amount of damage but not fully incapacitating any of them.

A normal person wouldn’t have gotten anything to inspect the shard in the way Yan did, but his keen senses and ability to pick apart signatures gave him a small advantage. It was nothing conclusive, but in all the demon energy, there was something human.
As for the explosion, the demonic energy still seemed to be messing with his senses but he could definitely feel life force in it. He could feel the massive level of that power and the massive amount of life force being drawn into the barrier. Someone beyond Chishan level had just been absorbed, and the barrier had left something behind using that energy. What, he couldn’t be sure, but with that level of power it couldn’t be anything good.
Finally, there was a more specialized search through the haze. He wanted to sense the big players, the big red flags in this big red dome. Directly north of them was the first flag, bright enough one wondered how you could even miss it. It wasn’t that far from them either, some great power that sent his gut rolling. Like the area of the explosion, something very, very wrong and unnatural was nearby. They would not cross it if they kept on route but the Saiyan camp was dangerously close to the explosion.
The second flag was north west: an extremely powerful…Namekian?
There was another powerful force closer to the explosion, but it was distorted too much by the energy unleashed. All he could get was that it was someone, or something strong. Unlike the Namekian, it also felt a bit foreboding…
Anna’s attack went off exactly how she intended, keeping the three Saiyans, Nelgae, and even Hertz safe, while utterly obliterating the golems. There was one target she had not wanted to harm, but also showed no mercy to, and that was the fourth Saiyan. To her surprise, as the dust settled on her attack the man was left facing her, his body bent and arms crossed to protect his organs. He had managed to form a barrier over himself to negate some of the damage while taking the rest of the attack into his guarded body, and had been left standing. Her attack either hadn’t been as powerful as she needed it to be, or the time anomaly had truly made this man powerful enough to trade blows with her. Both were frightening concepts.
Regardless of either, the three Saiyans were definitely in awe by Anna’s attack and her protecting them when one of the Saiyan stooges called out.
”Mato?” he let out, apparently recognizing one of the Saiyans Anna had saved. The man in question straightened, and on recognition, and the stooges realizing the golems were indeed removed ran to meet their actual comrades, only to stop short as the recognized the now wounded Saiyan.
”Nach, sir!” one of the other stooges said, lifting his arm to salute. Seeing the stooges, the tailless survivor lowered his arms slowly, his eyes only briefly leaving Anna’s.
”Who the hell are these people?” the actual Saiyan Elite spat.
”This is Midnight Foxx sir, and his subordinate Annaheim,” the stooge answered almost loyally. At him suggesting Anna was the subordinate, Nach’s gaze finally pulled off the woman and onto the redhead who was definitely not a traditional Saiyan, and seemed to be exceptionally weak.
”They’ve really saved our skins. Foxx was leading us back to the rendezvous point,” stooge number three added as apparently Yan had been leading them in the right direction at least.
”I’ve heard of Midnight Foxx,” Nach said. ”A loyal Saiyan dog.” It seemed a little more convincing would be needed, but as it had before, and would again, Anna’s surge of ki had attracted more golems.
”Who the hell are all these outsiders?” Nach snapped and to the stooges credit, he immediately answered: ”A Steel Legion prototype and their slaves.” Where he got that idea was anyone’s guess, and whether Nelgae and Wriggle would go along with it was also a large question.
At this point, Hertz pulled out what shiny treasure he had found in the wreckage. It was some type of communications device. In the device were two coordinates as well as three separate points of contact: The Doctor, Chief, and Sevine. The device doesn’t seem to be fully functional.

Gohan's clone stared down the Saiyans confidently as they ran headlong into his trap, even as the boy's main body got to see nearly in slow motion as Kale ran out to taste the explosion herself. The original winced, hoping his ally hadn't suffered too greatly, though he wondered just what she was thinking by dashing out into the open. He studied the clone's face, looking for insight as to what they would need to do next.
Behind Clonehan was a calm soldier who may have been on his way to meet the stooges that had fallen for his trap. Just at a glance he could tell that the last man would be trouble, though the boy kept his gaze mostly focused on the larger group of four. By first impression, getting rid of the commander may be nearly as annoying as dealing with the remaining troops.
Sharing the same thought process made it easy for both -hans to work together seamlessly. Clonehan was surrounded but far from helpless. They lay under a structurally unstable tunnel mouth, dizzied and dazed like flies caught in a spider's web. Meanwhile Gohan himself was still hidden, and would keep the cross-armed elite busy.
"Were you hoping for more?" Their improvisation began as Gohan jettisoned out from the darkness, his body a blur that would take up the elite's field of view. A flurry of fists took his momentum and octupled it right in the cocky man's face. With each swing the boy tried to push his newly declared foe back into the tunnel, and away from the remaining troops.
Clonehan took advantage of his main body's surprise attack and turned his attention fully toward disabling the small-fry who remained. His stance widened and elbows drew back through his hips as two golden orange balls of light formed in his hands. Without wasting any time empowering the attack he unleashed it as two beams which spiraled around each other and nearly filled the tunnel to prevent anyone from rashly approaching. A snap of his wrists brought them together and the sphere of combined ki demonstrated its instability.
As quickly as it had come together, the energy split into a dozen body-sized bolts and even more shrapnel. The smaller fragments were indiscriminate, but the larger blasts flew outward in a cone to target the Saiyan cultists as well as the same part of the tunnels which had blown up with his energy threads. With any luck, the successive explosions would fully demolish the remaining tunnel.
Gohan wasn't one to leave things to luck though, which was a trait his clone had inherited. While the main body continued to stay up in the elite's face, trying to keep him tied down and unable to freely aid his allies, the clone jumped up toward the shallow tunnel's fractured ceiling and kicked off with such force that the rest would come crashing down while Clonehan bounded back toward his partner in crime. If all went according to plan, the numbers battle would be in a far better place for the young boy.

Post by Shell on Mar 15, 2024 12:45:04 GMT -5
Part of working for the Time Patrol was an understanding that what you were doing was incredibly important. A change in a timeline could be altering to levels that were hard to explain. One thing that was incredibly obvious at this point was Mira eating those lights had changed this timeline. For better or worse that explosion would forever change the landscape of Central City. It was lucky that the explosion had not gone the other way and caused the destruction of the planet either. That could have honestly happened considering the raw power that was released upon the Shadowguard Agents demise.
Shell understood destruction to a unique level now. His time training with Lord Beerus, Whis and the Grand Priest while also making friends with the Omni King had certainly completely recrafted his understanding on these sorts of things. He could feel destructive tendencies as well and found that many feelings like this were leading to danger. The explosion of Mira, the hellscape he left behind likely needed to be examined, because of that destructive power that was lingering there and yet that was not the priority that the Guardian would end up following. He had things that were obviously around that he needed to worry about. The power lost seemed to fuel the barrier, with Mira being killed off, that likely made the entire situation that much more volatile than it had ever been during the actual events.
Yua did not come with them, but for some reason Shell figured that his Paladin ally was safe. He knew Yua to have been a force and willing to do what was needed to survive. They had gone through the trial of sacrifice together as well as numerous adventures for the protectorate. The Namekian was certain even without having AURORA find out for him that his friend was safe.
He would not find Yua not coming with and AURORA not being able to connect as concerning. Yua was used to using her defenses to keep others out of her systems. AURORA had asked permission this time around because of previous interactions for a reason. Yua not accepting a connection with AURORA felt almost normal at this point. He was ok with this considering the chaos of the situation.
It was another thing that Shell could not understand that was bothering him the most now. That was how Towa remained calm with her outwards appearance. The scholar had just seen the ally that she was always with in these events explode in a flash of power like that, but she was calm. It was impossible for him to understand, but as she looked at the barrier, seeing the change created by Mira’s power, it seemed like she also was not yet worried about things. It was that or she simply did not care much for her ally. It would have been a hard sight for anyone to have seen, but this was an ally and he was worried about the only one that had come with him from that explosion.
Glancing over to the demon goddess he spoke up, ”You good?” The question was simple, but at this point they did seem to only have one another to solve this mystery. It wasn’t ideal, but Shell was not going to be stubborn and hinder this mission.
Towa brought her attention down from the barrier and nodded at Shell, ”I snatched Mira’s core before leaving the explosion.” She said not explaining the entire process, but still showing no concern on the situation, ”This scene needs fixed so I can get back to my lab and to work.” Her eyes showing a powerful determination as well, ”So tell me, what exactly do we know about things and how can we stop this power from becoming whole. Mira being that overwhelmed off the lights clearly means we are dealing with something on a level that is far beyond what we might be capable of handling. We need to figure this out and quickly.”
Towa was most certainly correct with her assessment. This entire scenario went from a little game to a serious situation when Mira exploded. Shell looked into his sunglasses, focusing to see if AURORA had any new information hat might be able to help them out.
As if on cue, AURORA answered, ”Biological experiments were going on. I’d say whoever was doing this was worse than some of the worse things we have seen used in war. Ultimately they were focused on Saiyan Royalty and samples even included the Prince’s entire arm. The results I haven’t cracked yet, but the DNA had been successful for whatever they were doing.”
Shell spoke up interjecting, ”So Saiyan royalty that was abducted is an attempt to utilize that DNA for something. Considering the barrier and the power, we need to probably find that Saiyan and quickly.” The Namekian looked around, this time AURORA pointing him towards the where the Summit was taking place, ”So the Summit or was the Saiyan Prince elsewhere. We have already been lost once before so I want to know what the best way to go is. I’ll head that way, unless you say otherwise AURORA.” The Guardian of Avalon then looked at Towa, ”That is if you are going to end up coming with me. I don’t want to assume anything considering what has just happened. I just think that might be our best chance to find an actual answer to this problem.”
Towa smirked at Shell’s concern. They had had some strange interactions before, but it did seem like he was at least a little bit of an ally and that was good considering the situation they were in now. She turned towards the Summit, ”Let’s go and check that out then. Hopefully we can track the Saiyan and get to the bottom of this mess before it gets worse for everyone.”
Shell bolted in whatever direction that AURORA advised him to go. If she gave no information, then he was going to head towards the area of the Summit, but he was not going to rush rashly into a decision either. Letting AURORA do her best to counter hack whatever had led them astray before and try to get to the proper result. As soon as he either got an answer or got nothing though, he took off. No need to act discretely. Unless they ran into a fight, he wasn’t going to take him time at this point. Things were moving quickly and solving the problem was now of the utmost importance. It felt clear that Mira’s actions and explosion had caused a speed up of things. That could mean that thing needed to be done much quicker than had been moving before.
Towa watched as Shell took off, knowing she would not be able to keep up with him in a race of pure speed, but as long as she had some visual on him, she could get to where he was going. As She pushed herself to moving to keep up, she managed to do so enough to where they ended up stopping. Looking around, she hoped to figure out if they were getting closer or further away from the target. That was all she cared about at this point. Her creation Mira had certainly made things worse here and so she didn’t want to break any trust that might have existed with the time patrol because of that. She needed to do her best to solve this problem and get back to her timeline. She could rebuild Mira there and figure out more information about who was behind this then. For now, that was not the priority. She had a mess to clean up and that was exactly what she was going to do.
