The Lost Prince 673/673 As the ki surged forth from the depths of the lost prince, he stood in stillness, enveloped by a radiant yellow aura. Surveying his surroundings, he observed the golems retreating, intimidated by what power the lost prince was showing. A smug grin crept across his face, tinged with disappointment at their reluctance to confront him. Just as Tarble contemplated aiding his comrades, a deafening roar reverberated through the vicinity, assaulting his senses. He instinctively lurched forward, hands flying to shield his ears from the piercing sound. “What is that sound… and where is it coming from”
The earth trembled beneath Tarble's feet, causing his body to sway unsteadily. An oppressive scent permeated the air, suffusing Tarble with a sense of impending doom. He glanced to his left, expecting to see two figures, but instead found only one. Confusion clouded his mind as he beheld the solitary figure, reminiscent of the two individuals kids he had encountered earlier, now merged into one enigmatic being. “Who is this now coming to join us and where did the other two kids go”
A hushed stillness descended over the surroundings, shrouded in the ominous cloak of Darkness. The cacophony ceased, and Tarble gradually lowered his hands, squinting intently in the direction of the disturbance. With a deliberate motion, he reached for his scouter, hoping to detect any trace of the power source behind the deafening noise. "Nothing," he muttered incredulously. "How can this be? Such a clamor should register on my scouter." His words hung in the air, laced with perplexity. Suddenly, the ground beneath him began to tremble once more, and Tarble felt an oppressive weight bearing down on his shoulders, as if an invisible force sought to crush him into the earth. “Does something have a hold of me. What happened, we were doing just fine and now this. I…I am having a hard time breathing. Take quick short breaths Tarble to breathe air in quickly. With how heavy I am feeling, I have never felt this type of gravity before. Training on planet Vegeta is no comparison to what I am feeling right now”
In the distance, Tarble discerned a luminous white sphere hurtling towards him with the precision of a well-thrown curveball. Reacting swiftly, he raised both forearms to shield his face, bracing for impact as the sphere collided with his defenses. The force of the blow propelled him backward, his feet skidding across the ground, trailing a cloud of dust in his wake. As he staggered, he felt the pressure of the impact against his left forearm, driving it uncomfortably into his face. “The power behind this small ki ball. Who shot this… ugh… my scouter did not have a reading on it. I need to get this ball off of me before blows up”
Pinned against the unforgiving wall, Tarble felt a bead of sweat trickle down his furrowed brow. Summoning every ounce of his strength, he defiantly pushed back against the relentless force of the ki ball, extending both arms in front of him. With a determined effort, the lost prince shifted his weight to the side, aiming to evade the incoming projectile. As the white sphere collided with the wall beside him, unleashing a powerful explosion, the force of the blast propelled Tarble forward, sending him tumbling several feet across the ground. “I could have played that one a little better. Get up, because now it is time for me to see who my new enemy is”
With a determined resolve, Tarble pressed his palms firmly against the ground, using the leverage to hoist himself upright once more. Despite the lingering weightiness in the atmosphere, the lost prince recognized the necessity of retaliation. Stretching out his arms before him, Tarble intertwined his fingers and rotated his wrists, forming a focal point between his palms. Concentrating his energy into a compact sphere, he muttered defiantly, "Let's see how you fare against this." With a forceful thrust, Tarble unleashed a searing Mesposo beam towards the origin of the white sphere's assault. Actions MS. Elevated Super Saiyan (10% Physical Combo Dmg) 1. Vlad struggled to his feet and made his way to EP3 who supported his body who was at his side when massive obscuring hit them “ok, what the hell?!” EP3 said concern for her mentor overtaking her focus. <Guess I landed in a worse place than I thought for a convincing defenseless state> thought Vlad vision obscured partially by his own HUD reading out the redundant systems, the piece of rebar that got into his chest managed to do some less than ticklish states his synthetic nerves were in. Something else that defied description filled Vlad as he saw the teal haired form he used to sport and the lab coat over his form overlay him for a moment and his older tech avalon optics like his memory of the state he used to be in was in a way influencing his current existence and yet not at the same time, paradoxes <good thing that the structure of my synthetic mind closely mirrors organic neural paths in an analogue matrix I suspect a lesser robotic mind may slag itself with this paradoxical state.> Space/ time/ visual feed interfering with his perceptions, he caught an attack headed tarble’s way! His analytical overlay identifying his ally and trajectory to the attack, the growth his body could have undergone with the earlier trials had yet to be implemented into his system as growth but he would charge up and attempt to access his next gen energy efficiency regulators as he recalled having access to at this age or at least charging his psudo ki. He picked EP3 up and cast his aura over them as he overclocked his speed a moment to try and head off the attack and toss EP3 across close to tarble to join him but off the trajectory of the big bang so she could join him, and they could team up to take this thing down then move on and aid the others rounding together when all foes were dead. If all went as planned, he would intercept the blast and his energy absorbing hands would open, meeting the big bang. This felt less critical but still in line with something that happened in this event, but this time he had precog going to ensure he could evade a piercing thing if it would follow the blast like the false star absorption. Vlad would let out one blast of optical punishment to the target that tarble shot at. EP3 stumbled in the debris for a bit before she registered tarble’s signature and drew near. “Ready to join you on your mark!” She was a bit too late this round but hoped she could try and keep up next round. She secured her grasp on the sword and shield she bore with pride. Vlad hoped he could be of aid as he finally got his paladin set that enabled him to take full advantage of his captain upgrades. Experience has been a painful teacher, but he got the experience with how and now the gear to roll with the punches. He only hoped he did not go tunnel visioned on the task at hand and left himself too open. 530 1 next gen transformation or failing that power to max free relocate to Tarble side 2 ST attempt to intercept and energy Kyushu the big bang attack headed tarble’s way 3 bionic punisher 2% ki focusing lense +1DR 4 eye beams both & tarble’s target 2% ki +1DR 4% ki used EP3 Free moved with vlad to Tarble’s side. 1& 2 psyche up to try and follow Tarble’s next attacks up as best she can. The smoke kicked up after the Saiyan’s impact remained dense as the woman slowly climbed out the crater. One arm grabbed onto the ground to lift herself while the other hand held her head to nurse the dizzy and groggy feeling. She coughed as she made it back to ground level and looked around to scan her surroundings. She could only vaguely see the forms of what lay behind the heavily obscuring smoke. She felt a good deal of Saiyans; under her normal circumstances, she would have thought nothing of it, she would have even been happy to sense them, but with what she was told about the mission, other Saiyans didn’t necessarily entail recourse.
The thought of landing right behind enemy lines harrowed Kale, she looked over her should and looked down into the crater she just climbed out of, she was contemplating jumping back in before she could seen by bellicose Saiyans or any Earth forces that would lump her in with the kind of Saiyan that was common in this universe. However, something drew in the Saiyan woman’s attention. Something emerging from the ground. Kale looked down toward the sound of the rumbling under her feet. Irregular shapes began to emerge, resembling a silhouette behind the smoke. She wasn’t sure if she could even call it humanoid.
The dust began to clear revealing the monstrosity that emerged, some sort of deformed rock monster, Kale was not sure. She wasn’t sure she even wanted to know. A surge of power built centered on the monster that grew from the ground. Kale stepped back. The power rose and rose until it culminate into a series of blast that erupted in the air. Kale pointed both hands toward the shockwave, a green orb appearing in her hands, it crackled before it started to fade and flicker out. “Oh no. What am I supposed to do?” Kale looked down at the series of explosive waves that came in her direction. “Come on, what would sis do?” Kale thought for a moment as the blasts came closer, they came near the Saiyan before she punched the wave of energy away and went into a pugilistic flurry against the incoming bursts of energy, slamming her fist against them to knock them away from her. Pounding the blasts, dispersing some while sending others flying in another direction. After the final blast that came her way was repel she stopped and took a relieved breath and looked at the monster. It looked so grotesque and she didn’t know what touching it could do to her. Kale looked around and some some wreaked cars and chunks of building scattered about. Kale looked down and found a cinder block by her foot. She picked it up in one hand, turned to the golem and cocked her hand back and threw it at what she guessed was its head. Kale walked over to a car and looked inside to make sure no one was in it, before grabbing it from below and lifting it over head. She then turned to the creature and toss the car with both hands at it, if it mad contact it would explode. She looked around for the biggest vehicle she could weaponize and saw a a blue truck. She grabbed the back of it, latching her hands tight crushing part of the trunk before she spun going in a full circle before letting go and hurling it at the chimara.

Gotenks materialized in a blinding flare of light and energy, the shockwaves from the fusion rippling outward like a cosmic thunderclap. His golden hair whipped around in the breeze. He grinned from ear-to-ear as his emerald irises roamed over this new threat.
"Ohhhh yeahhh, you guys are in trouble now!" he crowed, flexing one impressively sculpted bicep to display the impressive musculature their fusion had granted him. "The one, the only, the invincible Gotenks has arrived to save the day once again!"
With a dramatic flourish, he struck his signature pose, fists planted defiantly on his hips while puffing out his broad chest. The young fusion's bravado soared into the stratosphere, every fiber of his being brimming with exhilarating power and confidence.
What did it matter that some monstrously huge horror had been terrorizing the battlefield mere moments ago? Now that he was here, victory was all but assured over this pathetic relic. Just another meaningless obstacle to be swatted aside by the supreme might of his fused greatness! Just like Majin Buu.
Gotenks threw his head back with a boisterous laugh, bathing in the thrill of his own magnificent strength radiating through his veins in sizzling currents. He could feel oceans of potential ki roiling just beneath the surface, straining to be unleashed in some explosive, excessive display of dominance.
"Alright, freak show, why don't you go ahead and show your ugly mug already?" The fused warrior's lips curved into a wicked, taunting smirk as he folded his arms across his barreled chest. "Unless you're too chicken to face my awesome power, that is!"
No sooner had the brazen taunt left his mouth than Gotenks registered two sharp white spheres of energy cutting through the haze, streaking straight towards him and Tarble. Reacting with blinding speed, the fused Saiyan launched himself skyward, the orbs detonating with tremendous force where he'd been floating moments before.
Resounding explosions of force buffeted Gotenks wildly as he arrowed higher, evading the deadly blasts with almost nonchalant ease. Yet far from being cowed, his cocky grin only widened in the face of such aggression.
"Ohhh, you are so gonna get it now, tough guy!" he bellowed over the thundering detonations rocking the battlefield.
Cupping his hands in concert, the fusion warrior discharged a furious volley of jagged golden beams lancing towards the unseen creature like split comets. The erupting barrage pounded the target relentlessly, detonating with ground-shattering impact.
Gotenks didn't let up, following each salvo of blasts with another and another, pouring on wave after wave of blistering power in a punishing assault intended to overwhelm his mysterious foe entirely. His eyes blazed with golden flame, teeth grit in a snarl of utter arrogance and fury.
At last, gathering the full force of his incandescent rage, the fused warrior roared with savage effort and unleashed a cutting disk of raging energy out across the ruins with a powerful double-handed swing.
"How's this feel, ya ugly freak?!" The flat disk screamed out like a blazing saw blade, cleaving through the air itself with enough destructive potential to slice through any of the nearby structures. Gotenks grunted with effort, pouring every last fiber of rage and cockiness into that ultimate attack, refusing to let up until the place where the beast had stood was left in a state of smoldering ruin.

It appeared the time paradox was affecting Vlad a little stronger than he originally noticed. Tarble blocked the incoming attack before Vlad could absorb it with the kyushu but he thought he got there first and now there was definitely a moment of confusion as to what was happening. After fighting off the blast Tarble felt a little bit of injury add to his bruised form, but it was mostly superficial for now. Such things could build up if he wasn’t careful, but for now he had a beast to fight, or flee from. His mesposo cut through the air without a lot of power, but the beam did hit, and in doing so it drove a hole into the field of destruction, offering a windowed picture of their foe. All he could see was a grotesque and blood tainted eye, its heavy eyelid mostly protecting it from his attack. Vlad recovered from his confusion and also went on the defensive, using his own eyes to try and cut a new line of sight. He too was successful, and through the torn windows in the air he was able to see a shifting mass of the tendrils that had taken over his Saiyan opponent. And then there was Gotenks, shooting into the air. Dr. Ghast managed to get the creatures off him, though with some delay. Energy attacks proved damaging to the siphoning creatures, but it was very likely that while they were thrown, and exploded, back to the ground, they had likely absorbed the ki he used. Something to consider more closely if he had time. At first, it seemed fortune had favored him. The dust cloud had not cleared completely and the battle below had not yet reached him. Unfortunately, a golden Super Saiyan boy shot into the air next to him, and attacked the creature below with great gusto, drawing its focus up, and to him. Gotenks' volley of blasts at least gave them a better view of the monster. The rapid fire served to clear away a lot of the destruction fog but still showed figure draped in shadows, as if crafted by darkness. It was massive and its entire body seemed to move like it was made of flowing ink. The malevolence feeling intensified, and the gut feeling of dread kicked back in like a punch taking the wind right out of a person. The air was thick not just with the dust but its oppressive power that seemed to scream wrongness. It was something even to Ghast, who would probably be quite excited to see a beautiful potential specimen. Well, less excited since the thing was attacking. The shadows seemed to pool over its writhing mass, the darkness turning Gotenk’s window pitch black before a black beam exploded out from the creature. Like a black steel rod shooting through the sky, it was large enough to engulf both the Super Saiyan and doctor in its malicious and destructive energy. As soon as the beam was fired, the creature seemed to take a page out of Gotenks’ book, and its entire body gained small black spots all over, before they shot at the two time travelers in a massive volley of twenty blasts. But the warriors below were not safe either. The monster still seemed to gravitate towards Saiyan royalty, which meant Tarble and the two allies that had decided to literally stand with him. Huge tentacles lashed out from the fog, aiming to slam into the three warriors from all sides. The destruction dust ripped through the air with the move, a large amount of it settling back down on them only to explode like a dozen dirty fireworks. A retching noise came from the creature, its power settling into the senses like a wave of nausea before another pitch black beam rushed towards the trio. As it reached them, it suddenly exploded tearing into the earth again as the ground seemed to tilt. While the explosion wasn't as gigantic as other explosive beams, the shock waves were strong enough to reach into the air at Gotenks and Ghast to send a crushing force to potentially send them flying, or suck them back to the ground.

While Riki and Cauli adeptly avoided a direct confrontation with their front runner golem, Lemon decided to take hers head on. The demon claw tore into its head sending it sideways out of Riki’s bowling order and now it was just the two of them.
The fires didn’t seem to have much of an affect on creature bound together by a magma like energy and as Lemon tried to target the weak points on what would be a flesh and blood creature she found less purchase against the rocky statue. Her tears broke through the stone, but were immediately filled back in by that boiling yellow energy rolling through the cracks like a wet glue. Her throat strike cracked the hard statue but it merely chipped away at the hard surface of whatever this thing was made of.
It was enough to knock the creature back at least, but after a momentary pause it lunged back at the girl, its vicious claws glowing the gold of the magma. It slashed at her with one, trying to cut from shoulder to hip, the tips burning like a plasma weapon even as the contact seemed to siphon her as much as burn her.
Its other claw tried to bury itself into her abdomen, its small body packing quite a bit of strength in its stab. This strike too was meant to hold contact as the creature’s ability went to work trying to steal all her ki and life force.
The rest of the golems however were victim to Riki’s onslaught. The first stone statue bowled into their gathered up position with critical accuracy temporarily mowing them down. One even stayed down for good. The rest were quick to rise however, though Riki’s jump landed easily on her target, the shockwave throwing the broken down golem and one other in opposite directions.
The self proclaimed hero then saved Lemon from a more intensive grapple, swinging her bat practically shattering the one closest to the cat demon, while sending the other away from her. Her actions similarly set up Cauli, who took that opportunity to play ball with the only one of the three golems still standing: the one that charged at her first.
Riki’s attacks against it hadn’t proved futile, and Cauli’s assault further broke it to pieces. As it was thrown back, it seemed to be finished, a nice pile of three golem corpses, but no, like a zombie who hadn’t had its head properly blown off, it rallied, throwing its broken body at her as it swiped viciously at her legs trying to at least siphon her life force and leave her immobilized.
At this point the surviving golem from Lemon’s pool also took a new target since the cat girl had separated herself a little from the horde and ran at Cauli with reckless abandon, looking to slam into her while she dealt with the grounded golem before also going for a siphoning stab.
The other two were farther back, part of the original pack that had gone after Riki, and they ran at her purely due to her being closer, though maybe a little malicious revenge too. The golem she stomped on still had a little fight left in it, and with its superior speed reached her first. Swinging widely, it’s ki sucking claws searched for any purchase hoping to overwhelm her in three swift strikes so the second golem could try and stab her from behind, not once, but twice.

As Gohan chucked the huge pieces of rubble at the monster’s equally huge head, the first one impacted cleanly, causing an ear splitting roar and the second one was swatted away by one of the creature’s long limbs. This gave Nelgae a good opening however, and the chimera stumbled back against the bug’s onslaught. Nelgae there learned a few things. One, the physical attack was thankfully quick, because any contact with this creature pulled at his life force, but the hit itself was quite impactful in damaging the abomination. The hybrid attack was less so, though not because it was a hybrid, and the final energy attack did damage as was intended. Despite the creature’s ability to siphon ki, energy attacks still hurt even as it potentially absorbed some of the energy. The latter he could not confirm. As Gohan attempted to scan his surroundings, he would find that the destruction the creature had dished out created a dust field, and as Nelgae’s energy blasts hit home, the creature let out another vigorous roar in his direction. The sound waves and air unleashed from its gaping maw was strong enough to disrupt his flight and send him spinning before he could get a good grasp on any answers. As he spun though, it was possible he saw another aerial explosion in the distance? And then Anna charged. Just as the creatures before had been summoned by ki use, this one also seemed enamored by her potential life force. Hertz’s attack wasn’t completely useless as it stopped the creature from trying to grab onto Anna, potentially weakening her attack, but its raised arms did manage to block the aggressive assault with another ear splitting scream that was cleanly interrupted by the explosive blast of the attack's impact that took off the creature’s head. Headless was not enough to down it however. It did try to grab Anna after, but she was already gone. Now with an upper torso and a body that had been crushed under the weight of the woman’s attack, the first rock Kale threw hit what was left of what could be a head with dangerous precision. It had no eyes but the air from the car throw was enough for it to throw a battered arm to intercept it. Weakened so heavily the arm split back into the many golems who created it, and the final car was able to just barely finish it off. The creature was dismantled, and yet the many golems that had made it continued to twitch and jerk like they might get up again. Meanwhile, as Yan stretched out his senses, he was instantly met with interference--painful interference. There were many strong powers floating around the city, but all he could read on a generalized search was that damn barrier. It overwhelmed his senses as he could feel every individual soul floating around in the thing. It was definitely something demonic, and something very old, but it was not in his purview of knowledge. Maybe if he spent more time with Mercy he’d know better. He did notice something though, and that was that the barrier itself seemed to be shifting. It was not losing much strength at all, but it felt like some of the souls were dropping from it. A drop of water in a flood to be sure but a drop nonetheless. When he tried to focus his senses however, he was able to bypass the barrier’s toxic lull. There was still a lot of interference from the barrier and the number of battles raging on through the city, but he could pinpoint a number of Saiyans. There were a good number of them scattered about, usually in pairs or groups of threes. There were no Saiyans left at the summit, where everything had started. There was one congregation of Saiyans, a gathering of sorts, and a few Saiyans that were standing perfectly still as if guarding something. ”I can’t get contact, but I remember the meeting place,” one of the Saiyan stooges said. ”I think.”This still left Yan with a bit more to go on then the others.

As Yua pressed her mind towards the stone statues she would find nothing. There was no mind at all, either brain dead, dead dead, or never more than statues to begin with, there was nothing to find in them. They were empty, inanimate statues. It was only the Saiyan’s face and the posture of these statues that spelled anything different. While it was possible broken and fallen down statues could have been down in these catacombs for some reason, the postures of these statues reflected the dead. Unless some artist meant to depict a death chamber, they were not statues carved of stone.
When she moved her mental attention to the lights she wouldn’t find sentience, but definitely a consciousness. It wasn’t a strong one though, as it seemed quiet even to her probing mind, like whispers in the dark. It was hardly a thought more than a focus, and a feeling: “Hungry.”
The word danced with the lights, not a beast’s ravenous call but more like children complaining, lightly crying for some snack. “Hungry. Hungry. Hungry.” It was almost a song, at least until she focused on one of the lights.
At first it was just that light whisper, soft and faded, but as she pressed her will upon it the voice grew louder, and faster, until…
Something snapped. She lost all track of the little voice crying to be fed and instead her mind was bombarded with something worthy of the sinister feeling she experienced when she first saw the lights. It was bigger than these little lights, a hive mind slamming into her brain, overwhelming it with malice, hatred, and suffering. So much suffering. Connected to this mind was like being connected to every soul that had been wiped out in the earlier explosion. They were being burned alive, crushed, obliterated, filled with pain as their emotions ran wild with fear and anguish.
Trapped. They were all trapped.
And it was trying to trap her in it. Her mental power had forged a link and now whatever was connected to these lights had latched onto her mind, trying to drag her down into the depths of it. She would never see the light again. She would never feel happiness again.
As it tried to bind her to it, one of the lights reached the ground, only it did not land there but on one of the stone statues. The light seemed to enter into the statue which began to glow an eerie light before there was the sound of crunching, the statue trying to move. It crack and bent, the white light turning into a golden power of pure heat filling the corpse with life once more.
And then another one landed. The rest were soon to follow.
As Towa inspected the interference she’d find that yes, there was definitely something demonic and magical to it. That wasn’t the whole story, but it seemed that the barrier above, which was demonic in origin, had concentrated some of its powers underground. The barrier dug into the ground around the entire city, and the combination with the earth, and potential magical influences was definitely part of disrupting their senses. It was enough to make technology wonky as well, and created a haze on the other senses. It would take some time and effort on her part to piece apart the magic to see if she could undo parts of it.
While AURORA attempted to counter hack, her first attempts were met with some solid security. She would have to keep trying.
As they moved on Towa kept her wits about her, inspecting the tunnel itself and anything she could sense further in the air. They weren’t in just random dirt tunnels carved out by some giant mole. They were man made, likely a very long time ago to assist the city in some way. She’d have to study them more closely to garner any more than that. Shell’s efforts were commendable, and he had definitely learned his lesson from last time. The tunnel held. As they moved on a metaphorical fork in the road appeared that was actually an intersection. After an absent discussion, the group chose to stay together and leave their mission to find the Saiyans behind, at least for now.
The path forward wasn’t too badly maintained, but they quickly came across a statue. It was pressed up against a wall as if it had been shoved there, its face slackened like the carver had decided to depict a man giving up to death. The odd feeling from this section intensified, and soon began to feel foreboding. Odd became creepy, and though the temperature did not change, their bodies reacted to a chill, arm hairs standing and creepy feeling down their spines.
It wasn’t long before they entered a larger chamber. In the chamber were eight white lights, dancing through the air like fairies. They seemed to be the cause of the odd and creepy feeling, but they had something more concerning to deal with. Four of those stone golems stood throughout, their heads tilted up, ready to sniff them out.
There were two entrances into this wider chamber, and around the bend to the one to the left was a Saiyan and an android, the former of which was making a small bit of noise.

Post by Dr. Ghast on Mar 7, 2024 17:47:36 GMT -5
"Hmm...less of a boom than I had expected," Ghast wasn't truly displeased or disappointed, but simply found it rather odd that a technique with enough power to wipe away a small city block or more depending on the power he used for it, would not do much more than a mere poof and puff, hardly worth the energy put into it in the first place. However, considering how both the tendrils and the golem-like creatures seemed to be capable of drawing in and draining living energy...perhaps that in itself explained it all. Now it would've been quite the pickle to deal with something like that, but for now it was looking like he had at least some time to recoup his losses, take a breather and properly survey the situation...If it weren't for this shiny strange teenage boy to suddenly hang next to him in the air for a few moments before launching a tonne of blasts down towards whatever had been at the other end of the tendrils.
Though these flashes of bright energy gave the doctor a moment of clarity to look at the being below in all its repulsive lovecraftian glory, it also didn't seem to help in terms of the being's mood being made any better. As if on cue, when the mad scientist figured THIS out, he also realized that due to the golden boy's attack, most likely a retaliation was to be expected and probably even more to his own frustration, the vicinity of the perpetrator of it all, made Ghast just as much of a target. "Oh...crapbaskets..."
While enthralled by the enormity of the beast, the feeling of rippling power, burbling strength and insurmountable hunger made the mad scientist acknowledge the intriguing and interesting nature of this creature, thinking it would indeed be a very valuable and useful specimen to experiment on, observe and dissect...especially since its properties seemed eerily similar to the secret techniques the Damaskian empire seemed to employ. Alas, to have any insight in this monster, he'd first need to survive its wrath and wrathful it most certainly was, for in but a matter of moments, it had already unleashed its retaliation towards the golden boy and sadly by extension...the doctor as well.
Though the enrgy or the shadows more specifically felt odd in a sense, due to the sudden attack, the mad scientist had little time to formulate some elaborate defense and had to rely on his instincts and with instincts it basically ment letting the mutation within his cells take over the steering wheel.
As soon as the first attack in the form of a rather thick, shadowy beam managed to reach the doctor, both his arms instantly moved fowards, as if to grasp at the beam with all ten of his fingers, with his muscles tensing and his bone-like structure creaking under the pressure of the astonishingly light, yet powerful beam, Ghast's instincts told him to push the damn thing aside rather than attempt to actually block it for as long as he could, so without hesitation, the doctor's arms shifted to the left before he retracted his arms and allowed the beam to move past him.
"Now that was clo..." In the midst of his momentary elation, the mad scientist was engulfed by a couple of rather powerful energy blasts, tearing parts of his padded clothes and his helmet clean off, though he certainly didn't feel like he was mortally wounded, he wasn't unscathed either, feeling the stinging sensation all over his body and still finding the energy or rather this shadow the creature used surprisingly light and at the same time also intriguingly dense for such a light source of power. There was almost no weight behind whatever energy the being seemed to use, but at the same time it also felt much stronger than it in theory should be...a confounding and perplexing idea for the doctor, but enough to keep him on his toes and attempt to alter his strategy along the way in proper fashion.
Staring down at the utterly perplexing and most intriguing being, the doctor noticed how it was becoming clear that whatever he had endured so far was the least of his problems, with a much larger and much more terrifying concentration of those shadowy energies being hurled into the open. "Intriguing...isn't that an IonOh goddamned!!"
With little time to think and little options to attempt any safe strategy in this situation, the mad scientist reached forward towards the expanding energy of the incoming blast, his own hands coated with his own energy as he reached for the scabbard of his Faithful blade. Feeling the ornate and intricately carved, silver hilt in the grasp of his left hand gave Ghast a slight feeling of comfort and exhuberance. While he allowed his own energy to soak into the blade, the mad scientist thrust the blade forwards when the energy of the impact reached him, allowing the weapon to drain and suck up the energy of the attack, though understandably this may have only safeguarded himself from most of the impact and damage, he already expected to at the very least feel the shockwave not too much later when the air would ripple and seek to return to its original state after having been displaced by the copious amounts of energy unleashed by this singular technique.
"I truly did want to observe a bit more, but this thing is...rather dangerous and from what happened earlier, I doubt energy would be useful when it comes to weakening it to the point of harvesting samples," Letting out a sigh, the doctor tightened the grip upon his weapon and stared down at the creature before deciding to allow gravity to do its thing. As he dropped down from the air, Ghast held out his right hand and allowed strange particles to be teleported throughout time and space, conjuring a weapon he had within his possession, one he was certain to be useful in this predicament; the first blade. "If energy is not an option, perhaps the tried and tested cutting and tearing would be the better option."
With the strange, jawbone-like blade tightly held within his right hand and his faithful blade in his left, the doctor held both weapons forwards as soon as he reached the being, having fallen through clouds of dust and debris, hoping his speed and momentum of the fall would at the very least maximize his penetration power before he'd have to right himself once more in order to attempt a quick succession of slashes and cuts aimed at what the doctor believed to be somewhat structurally weaker points of this enormous beast. With no hesitation or pause after what the mad scientist hoped to be a very deep and painful start of his assault, he lunged with the First blade towards the closest tendrils he could find, attempting to cut them off at the root, while using the faithful blade to try and cut like a scalpel in the beast's flesh, like a hot knife through butter...

The barrier overwhelmed his senses on his first attempt. He could feel the intensity of a billion souls screaming with no relief in sight. He knew it was something ancient and something overbearing, but he never cared too much about his demon roots, and his relationship with Lilim hadn’t deepened yet, so he really didn’t care enough to learn about that kind of shit. It was just old, and demon, and mad.
He had better luck when he focused his senses, and was able to pinpoint a bunch of Saiyans. The ones standing still caught his attention, but he imagined their best bet for information would be to go to the larger group of them. Their luck the guards wouldn’t even know what they were guarding, or it would be something not worth anything. If they were looking for information, it was better mined from a larger pool of people.
Before Anna could answer him about his Doctor Who-esque proposal, the golem monster fell, or rather finished crumbling against Anna’s attack. The cars probably helped, but that was Yan’s impression. Anna had become something like a monster in the however many years had passed from now and wherever she was from, and it was a mixture between truly awesome and utterly horrifying considering the Anna he knew. That was probably an unfair judgment. Just as her power changed, so had her sense of control.
Then again, she said she was obsessed with him. That combined with her power was horrifying to be sure. Not that he would ever use such power for evil or anything…Probably.
At this point the little dog robot thing returned to their side carrying his cow over his head like it was a large crate and not a cow. To the cow’s credit, it seemed it was just taking everything in stride now. It was a victim to the bot’s whims, and it knew it.
”Now what?” it asked bluntly, eager for the next venture, seeming to have forgotten his original aim for this timeline.
”Now we go find our Saiyan comrades,” Yan offered, half assing the ruse at this point. It was beginning to bore him but mostly because they hadn’t moved on yet. Also probably because these Saiyans had proven so useless.
Hertz set his cow down then climbed up on its back. He ran the cow around like it was a horse then grabbed Yan by the arm dragging him on the cow as well before he could offer much protest and took off in the general direction the monkey had almost indicated, shifting his direction when Yan actually indicated.
They got a good distance with Yan hanging over the cow, his chin in his hands marveling how the cow was faster than him at this point in time. This would probably cause someone who knew the current Yan’s mind to blow up a little, but that’s who he was back then, a nice balanced individual not yet planning to destroy a world for power that would disrupt his speed.
The cow suddenly reared to a stop, seeing something ahead and Yan looked out over the ruined city. Taking it as the creature needing a short break he eased himself off the cow and took a more careful look around, before he stretched his senses out as well, looking to see if he could pinpoint the enemies before they saw Hertz and his cow.
The Saiyan stooges followed, making an amazing pace, and also gave the area a look over.

| Down Below Son Gohan
441 | 849 |
Gohan's landscape changed in an instant. The monstrosity that followed him up from just beneath the earth, one singular writhing insectoid, had been torn apart. Like malformed larva, the bodies of substituent golems spasmed on the deteriorated concrete. The young Saiyan wasn't sure if they would be getting back up, or what even really powered them in the first place, but didn't plan on sticking around long enough to tell if they would get reform over time.
Whatever the people around him were doing, Gohan knew there was something sinister going on down below. Perhaps he could take them on alone, but that chance was far better than letting them continue to run amok.
"Thank you," he called out generally to everyone who remained, though he eyed Nelgae warily. Two of his impromptu allies had already left on a bovine steed, and a small entourage of Saiyans followed them. "Before that monster came up to the surface it was underground. I think whoever summoned it was down there too..." His explanation trailed off with uncertainty. He had noticed another explosion off in the distance, and clearly there had been many independent actors mixed into the chaos. Fighting was going on in more than just one place. Who was to say that the cultists he had seen below were actually responsible for what had just happened? Gohan, whose meager pride was born from intelligence and rationality, was utterly ignorant of the situation. He ground his teeth uncomfortably as that thought percolated. Right or wrong, he didn't necessarily have the time to make a better educated guess at what the "correct" choice was.
"I'm going back down. There was some fighting off in that direction," he offered, pointing off in the direction of more survivors, "and I'm sure the guy on the pig was heading somewhere he thought was important too. If anyone wants to come with me, there are a few cultists waiting. I hope everyone stays safe." Informing the group of everything he knew fulfilled what obligations Gohan felt he owed, leaving only the task at hand.
Finding the hole he came from in the cratered ground would take too long, so the boy simply found the largest crack in the pavement and began pulling away at it. Tossing the dirt and sediment upwards as he moved down, Gohan drilled through to the cave at an unflinching pace. Uneasiness fueled him as he dug, boiling off to mingle with his golden aura. When he finally broke through to the destroyed city's underbelly, he felt stronger than ever. Surveying the area, he felt ready for whatever was left to come his way.

Post by Shell on Mar 9, 2024 14:22:59 GMT -5
Moving down the path towards the odd creepy feeling was likely the expected path for the trio. Yes, they could have tracked the Saiyans and gone after them, but they were here to solve mysteries and not simply kill whatever they came across. Mira likely would have wanted to track and slaughter the Saiyans, but Towa and Shell wanting to solve mysteries had taken the decision away from him. Ultimately, Mira was here to aid Towa by design so he was certainly ok with putting his desires in the background while trying to progress their plans. He knew if they solved the mystery that would go a long way to earning favor with the Time Patrol and that was a goal that was far more important than killing Saiyans.
Even though they had gone in a different direction though, Mira kept his focus on the Saiyans, trying to make sure that the distortions in the area did not break his locating abilities. If he could track them, even while going somewhere else, then he was confident he could track anything through this strange area. The underground tunnels were interesting and unique, but they were certainly not impossible to overcome. If the Shadowguard Agent could track through this, then he would be fine for finding any way out if they did cause more problems with the structure of this area like they did on past timeline Namek.
Towa remained calm, simply following along and waiting for something else to learn. She knew the disruption was based around some kind of demonic presence. She was sure that if she tried she would be able to start to break apart that disruption and make the sensing process that much easier for them, but considering that they were heading to a place that garnered their interest, she expected that other things would be needed from her in here.
She glanced towards Mira, ”The nature of the disruption to our senses is likely something I can use my own magic to overcome, but it will take some time. I’d like for us to continue on before I spend my time. You seem to be doing an exception job tracking as it is, so I doubt we will need to do break up the disruption right away as things currently are in here. Just if you need me to put the effort in, please let me know.”
A nod of acknowledgement was all that was returned from Mira to her words. He understood the situation and what they were dealing with in being in a time distortion. That was something that he did not care much about as it allowed him to continue to show his superiority as they progressed. The Avalon AI was not doing what he was doing and that just made it so Mira did not care about having to do such a task. It might have taken some of his focus away if they did get in combat, but that was fine.
The Namekian on the other hand was still focused on all that was going on around them. The fact that AURORA had also been blocked from what was being shown on her screen was impressive. The AI had the ability to do so much, but she was finding a task that was difficult for her. That was certainly not normal. That also meant that whatever it was that they were dealing with was rather advanced or at least had good security protocols. AURORA knew of Jutters, but honestly that was the only AI that she had found as advanced if not more advanced than she was. Considering this certainly did not feel like that network, she knew she had to have the ability to overcome it.
”First attempt to counter hack was a failure. I will need to try another route in order to get into the network that mislead us. I feel that will certainly help us moving forward to deal with the computer disruptions and maybe even give us more information.” AURORA said, stating her case in order to not be outdone just as much as it was to solve the problem and do what she had claimed was her goal. Being bested was certainly not something that the Avalon system would tolerate from itself.
A simple nod of Shell’s head as they continued down the path was all that was needed to prompt the AI to continue her counter-hacking attempts. It was partially his understanding of the ego that the AI had, but more because his primary objective in all of this was to gather information. If she could do that by hacking the system that had sent them on the wrong path and tried to hack her, that felt like a winning scenario for the group. That was the end goal was to get them through this and learn more about all that was going on with this time distortion. If AURORA needed to be preoccupied Shell was ok with that.
They eventually made it, to a strange and creepy sight. The strange feelings obvious as they got closer, but not something they really found concerning. This entire situation was strange when the event happened and now that it also registered as a distorted moment in history, they had come to almost accept this was what was going to happen here. The only thing they truly worried about was the next test on their path. One thing certainly caught Shell’s eye though. The statue, set almost into the wall of a man giving up on life itself moments before death finally consumed him. It was strange and felt like something he would need to look into further. He checked out the statue, staying a little behind Mira and Towa as they proceeded forward, hoping to figure something out about this scene and maybe if it had something to do with all that was going on here and on this day in history. It was hard to know, but it did feel rather obvious that the barrier that formed after the explosion was alive, maybe this had something to do with that or the entity that was nearly being freed with the deaths in the city.
Mira and Towa, did slow up their pace a little as Shell was watching that, not wanting to get too far away from their help. They did make it to the larger room first though. The 8 lights bouncing around the room and the golems inside made it clear that a fight was coming. The golems they had faced before and knew they had to kill them quickly, but the lights were certainly new to the group. As Shell caught up, Mira and Towa tried to figure out what was going on with these lights. Mira on the investigative side and Towa on the possible demonic side of things. They did not know if these were meant to be here or not and just how much of a risk they might have presented to the unlikely trio.
There was another in here. Mira and Towa were not sure what was going on with that being, but as Shell got there, he noticed an Ally. His eyes widened, seeing the golems and his Protectorate Ally in the same room. The lights seemed to garner the attention of Mira and Towa and maybe even Yua, but the Master Paladin General was quickly ready to take care of the problem.
”Guess we found another fight.” He said, ready to go into another battle with these two as his allies. It felt strange since they only did tend to meet up in events like this, but the Namekian had started to trust them a little. He knew Mira did not like him and Towa was in most of these things to solve puzzles and get solutions, but he also knew they were more than capable of being true and capable allies when a fight did take place.
Shell rushed the Golem closest to Yua. He had no idea what was going on with his friend, but he wasn’t going to let her be hurt either. Flicking his left arm, the whip shot out, trying to wrap around the golem before slamming it into the ground. He jumped into the air, the whip hopefully forming a lasso around the head area of the golem as he pulled it off the ground and tried to stab his sword into the molten body of the creature. He did know that the quicker they took care of these problems the easier they were to deal with. That had been proved throughout their journeys to this point.
The demon goddess snapped into combat mode as well as Shell bolted into the room. She glanced at Mira, who seemed like he wanted to try something with this light. It was likely dangerous, but if he was going to try something crazy, then she would need to handle these golems first. Spinning around on her toes suddenly 4 spears formed around her. Each of them floating freely like prepared weapons, but the real objective had nothing to do with the spears. She took in the four golems, stopping her twirl as she faced the room once more. Holding her hand forward, one spear came to it. That spear slowly started to glow before multiplying itself over and over again until their were nearly 2 dozen spears where once had been. Fueling the spears with even more energy, she smiled, flicking her hand forward as a barrage of spears went to each of the golems, looking to take them out one at a time and break the threat they might have presented, before it ever started.
Meanwhile, Mira’s focus had gone to the lights. Drawn to them like a moth to a flame, he felt that something was certainly off with them to start with. What that was, he had no idea, but he was not afraid to try to break the problem before it ever became one. Focusing on the situation in its entirety he sent a spark of psychic energy right towards the lights trying to disconnect any psychic powers that they might have had and stop them from being more of a threat to the group. To Mira, the Golems never had this sort of energy feeling as they felt outside of this room, so that meant the lights were the problem.
Knowing himself well and his design he got a crazy idea. His plan was dangerous, but nevertheless he opened his mouth, activating a suction power that would look to consume all the light that he could as quickly as he could from these entities and maybe achieve his goal of stopping the problem before it ever became one.

Anna took Yan’s hand with a smile and a nod. She remembered Warped and the reference was not lost on her, which is why she smiled and repeated right after him, “And on we run.” She lifted herself up and dusted herself off, her hair fading from shiny gold to soft bubble gum pink, her eyes softening to blue.
When Yan said something about finding Saiyan comrades, she saluted to him keeping up the ruse that he was a commander of some kind and she added. “Yes sir.” Anna waited for them to get ahead of her, taking the rear in case they were attacked from the back. It would be easier for her to rush forward if an attack happened from the front, versus flipping momentum and thus she played the lingering protector’s role -- everything was in-front of her, even the stooges.
She looked around, passing up the city and seeing all of its destruction riddled everywhere. Golems were definitely all over the place, sensing for them and also catching strays out the corner of her eye. Anna wasn’t here for combat engagement though, she was here looking around for things out of the ordinary for this time line. She wasn’t here back then, and the story Yan told her was definitely changing for this time line, so Anna looked around as if everything was new and she hoped to run into something neat.
She could always run into battle as well, and she wouldn’t mind but that outcome was seriously low on her want to do list. Anna used sense to see if she could gather anything, so along with her eyes and her ability to feel energy she looked around this midway point until they made it to more Saiyans.
It was hard to concentrate with the billions of people's souls swimming around in the barrier. If she had to guess, the level of power on the barrier itself had to be damn near a thousand times stronger than she was. It was dense and distressing. It made using sense extremely challenging, but not impossible.

Cauli was shocked to see that the monster had not been dispatched as she had intended but was instead crawling towards her and swiping at her legs to try and use whatever unlife it had left to do as much damage as it could to her. As the first swipe connected with her ankle, Cauli found herself toppling over. The second was not so fortunate as she pushed herself off the ground with all of the explosive power that she could muster in order to sail over the attack. Always ready to defence her at a moment's notice, the hex blade appeared in her hand before she even had a chance to consciously order it so. She blocked the third attack with her blade made of darkness, not knowing that this was the most dangerous of all the things these monsters had thrown at her thus far. There was little time to congratulate herself; however, because another loser was queueing up for the treatment.
Cauli spun away from the grounded individual to get some distance and allow herself the space to adequately defend herself. Loser number two's attack was simple yet effective as it tried to tackle her to the ground. Cauli steeled herself against the attack, seizing it by the shoulders to try and brace herself. As it overpowered her, Cauli relaxed into the domination, trying to bring it down on top of her even as she brought her feet up to spring the trap. As it fell, she would shove it into the air with all of her might using another two-footed kick. She would follow them up quickly and, aiming for the head this time, would point pound the top of their skull in midair to send them careening head-first into the ground. If everything went properly, they would have either a crushed skull or a broken neck. Cauli wasn't messing around with these monsters anymore. They needed to die and quickly.
She turned back to loser number one, who was still floundering around on the ground. Cauli ran towards it and just before she got into its melee range she jumped high into the air. Engaging her core muscles, she executed a backflip into a pointed knee drop that was aiming directly for the half-destroyed monster's head to crush his skull too. Following her attack, she got up, dusted herself off and looked to regroup with Riki and Lemon to dispatch whatever remained of these freaks.

Kale watched the creature collapse after the final car collided with it and sent it crashing to the ground as it fell apart. She was surprised by how effective her assault turned out to be. She thought it would have taken more cars, but she was more than happy with the result. Kale took advantage of the moment of peace to scan her surroundings, trying to find people who could help her navigate this confusing situation.
Her looking around was rewarded with the familiar sight of a young Saiyan she briefly met in the astral realm. “Gohan?” she said, more so asking herself. She started making her way to the boy and listened to him as he spoke, saying that he believed what was responsible for summoning the beast may have been down there, too.
Kale looked down at the ground. Hearing that alone refreshed her feeling of apprehension. She didn’t want to see more of those things, but she knew she’d have to bite the bullet if she was going to be able to help with whatever this situation was. She looked at the ground and then at Gohan. “I’ll go with you,” Kale said after Gohan announced that he was going down and welcoming anyone to follow. She followed Gohan to the largest crack in the pavement and was behind him as he dug and drilled down, digging trying to keep pace with him. Once she made it to the underbelly with him, she looked reached out her senses trying to see if she could sense more of the golems. She stood on guard trying to be prepared for anything that was lurking about, prepared to fight back against anything that may have bee protecting whatever assigned this underbelly of the city as its territory. She slowly walked around, trying to see what she could.
