Goten's eyes were as big as dinner plates as he scanned over all the weird stuff scattered around after the epic clash with the monstrous beast. There was mainly an array of rubble from the destroyed buildings, along with a number of Saiyan bodies scattered around, as well as a few funky coloured bottles and pills everywhere!
"Whoa, look at all this cool junk!" the youngster exclaimed, scooping up a random purple capsule. "You think any of it gives you a super boost of power? Those Saiyans were pretty strong after all,”
Trunks was already examining some bright green pills, turning them over in his grubby hands. "Well, there's only one way to find out!" With a shrug, he tossed one of them into his mouth and crunched it up.
Goten watched nervously as Trunks chewed and swallowed. "How'd it taste? You feel any different?"
At first Trunks didn't react, but then his eyes flew wide open. "Oh man...I feel awesome!" He flexed his small arms as a surge of energy coursed through him. "I feel ready to take on that monster all over again!”
"No way, lemme try one!" Goten grabbed one of the green pills from Trunks’ hand and knocked it back. A few seconds passed before he broke into a big toothy grin. "Woooah, you're right Trunks! This stuff is amazing!"
The two boys zoomed around the rubble-strewn battlefield, flitting back and forth with blinding speed. After letting off some steam, they collapsed in a fit of giggles.
"Okay, okay, okay..." Trunks gasped between laughs. "We gotta... we’ll save the last one for if we really need it!" He started stashing the remaining pill into his pockets.
Goten was about to protest until a massive power level interrupted his thoughts. His head whipped around as he felt something...massive emanating in the distance. Bigger than anything he'd ever sensed before!
Trunks's smile vanished as he sensed it too. "You feel that?"
Goten nodded solemnly. "Yeah. It's...it's huge! Even worse than that monster we just faced…do you think that thing might be the reason we’re here?” he continued, his voice quivering slightly.
The boys leapt to their feet, bodies tense as they prepared for whatever terrifying new threat was rising in the distance. Trunks gritted his teeth.
"We're gonna need to hit it with everything we've got from the jump," he said seriously. "If that other monster was anything to go by, I don't think we can afford to mess around."
Goten's face set in a determined scowl. "Right. In that case, we’re gonna have to fuse again!"
However, just as the two of them were about to complete their serious of poses, they felt a rumbling in the ground.
"Uhh, Goten, did you feel that?" Trunks asked, as the rumbling intensified, to the point that it became evident that the duo were once again under threat of attack.
"Start digging!" Goten yelled, as the pair of them desperately began burrowing into the debris, hoping they'd be able to get far enough down before whatever it was was able to strike them.
"Get behind me!" Trunks commanded, as he extended a barrier out around him, trying his best to negate whatever was coming, in case their makeshift shelter wasn't enough.

Post by Dr. Ghast on Apr 4, 2024 15:12:23 GMT -5
Madness, Invasion, RefusalFrom the moment he slammed his hands into the barrier, the tips of his skeletal fingers digging into the energy of the strangely feeling field, something so shocking and unnerving happened that could not be explained in a simple and short way. A tone, so obtrusive and frustratingly mindburrowing started to make itself known, slithering into the man's ears, his thoughts and even his memories. Like a mas symphony, it started to take hold within the doctor's subconscious as he plunged his hands ever deeper into the barrier. Brainmelting, a hot mealstrom of pain swirled within his mind, almost as if whetever was holding the barrier together was trying to utilize a battering ram or a seering hot poker to start prodding and prying within Ghast's mind with little or no regard to his own wellbeing, let alone survival. Utter Chaos befell the scientist's mind, a definitive attempt to scramble him, his mind, his sense of self. It was all being targeted and meticulously dismantled by the strange entity in control of the barrier. However, despite all this, despite the pain, the torture, the horror, something deeply rooted within the doctor's own twisted mind fought back; his innate, undisputed logic, his sprupulous nature, his mad and insane devotion to progress, whatever inklings of himself that had been left within the doctor's mind were pushing back, despite the push and pull, the sway on his body or rather his soul...if he even had one. Pain was flooding his synapses, a feeling of coldness swiping through his thoughts, a strange and infinitely stronger will was opposite to his own and it was both terrifying and frustrating. Was this the true power of some sort of god, was this the thing he aspired to become, to overcome and lay low? Ghast was confused, annoyed, terrified and mannedingly angry. His mind, shards and all started to race, his thoughts combining, melding and flowing around, but there was one thing he did not yet let go: his will, his determination...if not to see this observation, this investigation through, than he could very well rely on that very determination to resist this entity, this barrier and to regain his freedom from this unbelievable conglomoration of insanity and negativity. Letting out a hollow scream, the mad scientist attempted to reconstitute his scrambled mind, fueled by his anger, his rage and his determination. He couldn't just let this barrier be the end of it, he couldn't be stuck in this godforsaken wrong timeline, because if causality meant that he would be stuck in a loop like this, he'd truly be a joke. He wouldn't have himself be dragged into this for nothing, so all that mattered, all he could do was push back against the entity in the barrier, force it to give up its dominion, to give up its assault with everything he had mentally and if necessary physically as well. Again, the doctor's mind tried its best to reconstitute itself, frantically searching for a solution and in that regard, it seemed that Ghast had found one thing, a memory of when he had first learned the secret of precognition and telepathy, how he had been subject to the mental image, the psychic avatar of a mortal, shriveled Kanassan who alongside Keres had given the doctor insight into the power and the scale of strength one could garner when employing the mental acquity that was innate to those who had gained the powers from Kanassa. With everything he had left, with every ounce of mental strength he was still capable to conjure up, the doctor started to try and form a psychic self, an astral projection within the barrier itself to not simply visualize his own mental resilience, but also to try and confuse and perhaps even overwhelm whatever was running the show within the barrier and was making the doctor question all his life's choices. He however had to be fast, for it was grueling work to keep even the slightest bit of his sense of self together. Perhaps it was his nature as a scientist, combined with his unique madness which brought him to the point of coming up with such a bonkers plan as trying to turn the table on whatever held sway in the barrier by sort of emulating the process which had been used upon the doctor. The shimmering astral image of the doctor quickly spread out, mentally being envisioned as fine dust, almost as if he had spontaneously shattered into a billion of pieces of glass, but the mad scientist intent was hazy only until the end, for at that very moment the image had been purposely shattered, he concentrated all of his mind, all of his thoughts onto a single thing: imagining that each and every particle from the resulting shattering of his astral image was in truth a microscopic solid nitrogen particle, in a state beyond the absolute zero and clearly with that he hoped to convince, nay he HAD to convince the 'thing' that had been burrowing in his mind, his soul and his very self that it was suddenly subject to being flash frozen instantly if it wouldn't retreat... It was dangerous to try and counter a being with such obvious mental capacities with a mental game of one's own, but in the end, this was still the Doctor, a high-magnate among the scholars of Kelioux, and in his own opinion the most sane and mentally stable scientist this side of the galaxy. Ghast had no intention to fail and only had to utilize this most likely unexpected retaliation to his best advantage. The barrier itself was a problem, but even beyond his body he could feel something was coming and if he was still stuck...he'd be toast. So for the last piece in his plan, the doctor attempted to touch both his thumb and index finger on his right hand in order to snap his fingers after pouring a bit of energy into those digits. Usually this technique was meant to disperse energy in the form of blasts, waves or even beams...but that was just the point, with both his hands inside the shell of the barrier, his hopes settled on the cryokinesis to be succesful, this was his best way of escaping. If whatever was inside the barrier was negative energy, it would be energy nonetheless and that meant it could be dispersed just as well. As he snapped his fingers, an extremely high pitched sound would reverberate within the barrier or at least it would be the goal for that to happen and shatter at the very least the part of the barrier which was holding Ghast in place. If that would have been succesful or not eventually didn't matter too much, since the third part of his plan meant he still had to vanish from his position instantaneously, yet only to narrowly avoid the most devastating part of the incoming expansion of energy that was somewhat akin to the eldritch beast's darkness, but far...FAR more potent with or without struggle in order to avoid both being reclaimed by the barrier and being overwhelmed by whatever was coming down like a terrifying wave within the barrier's confines...Aiming for his reentry into the area would be right next to the origin of this insanely massive and powerful storm. Lastly, to at the very least regain his bearings, the doctor would simply manifest the piece of void matter again and consume it with haste, chuckling somewhat heavily under his breath, trying to take in what was going on. Death has come to your little town. It sounded like a funny line from a horror movie from another time. This was not a little town, but death had come for this place. Yua grunted as the larger of the golems fell, but in its place came a swarm of smaller ones from the pieces. Yua was in a moment on panic then, but not for herself. Yua was more afraid that she had failed to protect the people that were behind her from the larger thing, that her attack hadn't done enough to take it down. Her ally in Lemon had defended the actual structure, so that saved her from that.
It was Riki that then saved her from the golems that had struck at her, and somehow, Yua was unable to give answer. She was an android, but there was a dread that had flared up within her. Death was near, she was sure about that, but from where? Yua snarled as she thought about that. What was this fear that consumed her very being, that had struck at the core of what she was? But it was all too clear when she realized that the barrier had done something, maybe? They were like rats stuck in a pipe that had been blocked off.
But Yua wouldn't let it end here, she had to do something to save her new acquaintances and the people behind her. The people were just bystanders, not supposed to be caught up in these messes. A fire lit in Yua as she growled before she unleashed more power from her core, and looked over at Riki. They would have to defend against this power that she felt buil up, and do so quickly. She looked over as the Saiyan demoness warned Riki, and that only stoked the fire within Yua. She wouldn't abandon these people.
The android jumped back and landed within the protective area of the base and unleashed the limiter on her power as she drew Yuna's soul back to her and out of the chassis that was some distance away. Since they were perfectly connected, that should only take seconds, as she engaged her fully abilities, and her hair changed from blond to an azure color, along with her eyes. The android didn't hesitate as she layered herself and the camp in plasma with the help of her psychic abilities, as she pulled the energy to do so down as she ground her teeth.
Lemon jumped into help the android as she pulled her arm back and then placed it to her forehead as she grunted. "Guess we're working together on this one, Yua." The girl's aura flared to life as she engaged her Ego Form, and placed her other hand out as she drew on her power as she pulled from the depths of her being to draw upon her demon senses. She had the hairs on the back of her head stand still the moment that things had started to go sideways. This wasn't going to end well if they all just stood still.
Lemon jumped into the air as she pushed demonic ki into the plasma so that they had another layer of defenses as she added her power to use's own defenses as Yua projected her plasma aura out there to defend everyone within the camp, as well as herself. Cauli should be included in that defenses, unless she had strayed away from the barrier that the two erected and took on the incoming attack. It flared around and she hoped that this was enough as Yua and Lemon placed their arms in an x in front of their bodies, and hunkered down on one knee and one leg.
It was certainly a big attack that slammed against their defenses, and that was honestly about the hardest thing for Yua to defend against since her skirmish against Joe. Yua hoped that this was enough to withstand the attack, and even if she smoked after the attack of the being, she would get up. It was what she did. Yua just hoped that she had withstood enough damage to not shut down her systems. Lemon, for her part, would be much harder pressed. At this point, she had done her best to help defend the camp and people, but it was more to help Cauli, if anything.
Yua was then up and out of there, as she rushed towards the being that she felt had attacked them. It was hard to miss it, in any case, as she took her barrier down and looked at any that remained alive. "Stay put. Not that I needed to say that." Electricity arced around the android as she bound off after Riki, intent to catch up and fight this new foe. It was not an easy thing to approach as she landed with eyes narrowed. She wouldn't bother scanning for a power level. If this thing was born from the barrier, millions of souls, even at low power levels, still added up to a high number.
The android was not out of options to attack, far from it. Yua drew out the sword from a capsule, one that she had withheld. The android drew up the double edged sword as she drew back on the sword before she unleashed a wave of plasma and sword energy mixed into one as she aimed to slice at the creature's right arm. She hoped to catch it's attention, since Riki had taken on a ton of damage in order to help her. Yua's big azure aura should also help her stand out against the greys of the ground.
She flew into the air and held her sword up as she used the polyalloy of her left arm to form the morphing weapon into that had, and held her other sword at the ready, as she faced it. Her eyes narrowed, the android stood at the ready as she hoped that with such an obvious target, she would have it's main attention. "I won't be afraid anymore." She would stand above her fears.
Lemon, in the meantime, had been left behind. She found it crazy to think that Yua had went off towards whatever had fired off that attack. She huffed, as it was a lot more likely that she was more hurt than Yua. Indeed, she had used more of her time to defend the camp. She looked around, mostly for Cauli. She had went to hunker down, so the demoness would risk to look for Cauli. She was still injured from the previous explosion. She went to look for her fellow demoness, as she called out, "Cauli, ya around?"

Vlad looked to EP3 who was trying to deal with the quake tremors with the data she had on how to best manage ones self during an indoor quake falling low and propping her shield like a shelter over her head expanding it as much as she could and pulling out stabilizers to it so it could better function as an emergency umbrella shelter <stay calm, stay focused! Drop. Cover, and hold on. Drop, cover, and hold on!> she told herself
Vlad pulled power into himself and became the humanoid fortress again, aura armor augmenting his already formidable defenses.
His ankles shot out anchoring darts and his spine and other vital structures engaged full shock absorption and redundant measures to ensure as light damage as high grade engineering could provide
When things began to settle. He thought back to Gohan < my tethering is much like a neural telephone, as long as you register me in your thoughts then it should come out like speaking into a phone receiver.> he calmly assured no need to overtax the mind in telepathic communications. <It is our oath and honor to extend aid. I feel a great traffic of mental activity in a relatively close location, some fear some rejoice, some some measure of the two or sheer confusion, what ever is going on betting its not good news is rather safe in my book.>
The synthetic let a feeling of unnerve be transmitted, showing that the entity may have been fully synthetic but had human grade neurology including emotional feedback even if his conveyance remained either surging general heroic or flat/stoic.
Vlad called one of the medical bags to his hand and held it out, offering it to the elite <you are a pawn in this scheme, you know? Those that set you on this mission find you expendable as they did Limburger, you are as good a sacrifice as you are a champion to their needs. But we can work together and win the day, swear on your pride as an elite to work with us, and this entire kit is yours to care for yourself and I will use my database on your species medical care to aid in further mending your wounds. Swear your pride and honor to help us and we will help you> Vlad held the bag out but sealed it tight with zero point energy.
EP3 crawled up but had some complication rising to her feet as her legs sparked a bit, as she was more domestic unit than multi redundancy combat body the functions of her legs glitched a bit. She looked for Kale pulling the medical kit she offered her before and offered it once more offering a kind smile.
456
1 Block the quake with aura shield

The bug warrior was sure that he would have followed after his queen, but then he noted what was outside. That was the mass of golems that could have followed her into the void that was sure to follow the water that had started to fill where the rest were sure to go. Nelgae had to make a choice: stay above ground and hold back the flood of enemies, or simply follow her and not use his brain. The insectoid would rather not fight a retreating battle in an area where they could not be recovered if a body fell. His hand gripped tightly as he silently decided that he would stand and fight alone, if that’s what it took. Besides, the two insects could stay in contact through telepathy or pheromones, if they got desperate enough.
The Klaxxi held his ground then, as the mass of golems got close enough, and his body took on a fighting stance. He was ready to battle a swarm like those of his weakling kind of Arlia, when he noted that he was not the only one to stay behind, Hertz, to the bug man’s surprise, was also going to stay behind. But there was a new issue, one that seemed to scream in his mind. A foreboding that the living could feel, and then see. It was a massive attack that revealed their goal, he assumed. “Stay safe, my queen,” he growled as he listened to the little android release his own sign of danger.
The many limbed warrior roared out then, as he brought his two upper arms into a defensive posture. His lower arms raised at the same time as he pointed his fingers at the attack used them as the first buffer to the attack, to hold back the energy as he surrounded those arms in psychic energy that pushed against the blast as he grunted and huffed. The power flared back as the Klaxxi warrior snarled in anger as he shoved back against the attack as he noted the power behind it. Very powerful, very deadly.
The Klaxxi stumbled for a moment, but that would pass. He always survived, even beyond burns and ki. It was a common enough tactic to try and burn him in the arena. He never let it work, and he would not let it pass this time. His eyes looked to the little robot as it had also defended itself. Well, more like it had fled into the water, and that had not been a bad idea. Nelgae turned to the hoard, but there seemed to be an issue: that issue was that they had turned away from him.
Frustrated to no end, the bug prepared to pursue, but new energy attacks followed after the golems. He listened the Hertz’s suggestion, but decided to take it a bit more safe. He prowled away from his location, and then dashed towards the large monster that was in the middle of the city, as he tried to come towards it without much noise, though he would have likely appeared as a red streak.
However, he was not going to lose to that attack from earlier. The bug rose his arm then, as he attacked with two of his arms, each one held different attacks in them. Azure orb in his left hand as he struck at the beast with one of them, as he launched the attack that grew in size until it should slam against the monster with savage might. If there weren’t enough explosions going on, this would also rock the area, as Nelgae held nothing back.
The second attack he aimed at the being’s head as he pulled back his right arm and body before he launched the second blue orb, the same attack as he wondered how it would handle the second one. Peppered with attacks, how would this creature respond to this? The warrior decided that he would have much pleasure to try and find that out.

She was almost surprised how long the Elite was able to last in the physical encounter with the talented half-Saiyan though but she knew that Saiyans didn't reached the rank of Elite without being able to make it through uphill battles. The Saiyan woman felt a sudden haze come over her and she felt groggy and dizzy, her feet not quite under her and she was hardly able to notice the collapsing rock that came down upon her, she was quickly buried under it but thankfully some of the larger rocks got caught in the cave in keeping her from being completely crushed in the rubble.
Kale shook her head to try to rid the grogginess that had come over her and took a breath. She looked up, everything looked almost completely pitch black from where she was. The woman closed her eyes and focused, channeling her energy and illuminating the dark space with green light before shooting up and flying through the rubble until she outside the pile and could see her allies and the Elite. She looked at Gohan and the high ranking solider as well as the Androids. There seemed to be a lull in the altercation and now they were trying to reason with him. She hoped the Elite would listen, Saiyans were known to be stubborn where she was from and it seemed the Saiyans of this universe had that in common, take that and combine it with a high rank in military and trying to talk them down without outranking them made for uphill battle to negotiate. She turned to the Android who offered aid again, she didn't feel like she needed it at first but with the adrenaline wearing off the pain of the injuries she acquired started to catch up to her so she accepted it while she had the chance. "Thank you," Kale said to the Android as they tended to her injuries.

”Oh, no,” the woman said, pointing down the shadowy hallway. ”That was all their doing. I believe Juch’s actual text was ‘keep the surface safe, j.’ I’m afraid I don’t know if he altered it this time around.”
As Anna stretched her nanobots out, she’d find they could not reach the surface. That massive weight pressing down on them was destructive, and if they wished to return to the surface, they would have to fight for it. It was a fight her nanobots were not strong enough to endure.
They were able to have reign over this underground space, and is she adjusted the timing, trying to allocate herself to her original timeline, she’d understand the earlier joke.
”You mortals like your choices…"
Purple eyes glinted throughout the cave, hiding the creature behind them in the shadowy darkness but there was a sense it was big, and powerful, even in this weakened form. There was a Saiyan in this room, and he did not seem to care one bit about what this presence could mean. He was just attacking, wildly trying to destroy whatever creature was behind those eyes. It was not the woman in black they saw now, and felt more like the barrier, a remnant of it, the beginning of something more. He wasn't listening to the startling voice.
Through the hallway the woman pointed down led into the promised laboratory, and at first glance her nanobots were showing the same things: dead bodies littering the floor. But the bodies of the past were more viciously ripped apart by a savage, while this timeline’s attacker was more precise. In the past, there was a room where Vegeta was being held, along with a strange arm, but he was not there anymore in this timeline. At this point in time back then, that savage girl was still enacting vengeance on the lab, killing everyone inside it with fury that her lover had been taken from her and treated thus. She was still maiming, but in Anna’s present, everyone was already dead.
There was no sign of Juch.
At Yan’s words the woman giggled again. She wasn’t upset that Yan didn’t rise to her provocation. Wriggle had, and that was nice enough. She had no idea what the red head was actually feeling, but who wouldn’t be amused at such friendly anger.
”Juch met a mysterious stranger at your coffee shop. He was actually early for your date, but the information offered was too intriguing for the old Professor, so he followed him down into the catacombs,” she offered him. ”You’ve done so well, I’ll tell you this, if you wanted to find Juch, you simply made a wrong choice. You have his location already.”

Looking above was challenging because the storm itself was so invasive to the senses. Trying to sense up was exposing Gohan even heavier to those screaming souls, the anguish as if the energy itself was made of pain. It also didn’t help that the energy pressing down on them seemed to be continually moving, just like a real storm rumbling over the world in pounding rain fall and gusting winds.
But something dared to breach that. There was a very strong power level that seemed to invade all parts of the storm, morphing into it with millions of streams of her power, cutting into the dark energy of the storm itself, though, for Gohan, that level of power was probably frightening in and of itself, as he still didn’t know who was an ally and who would kill to try and survive, but it did seem to be fighting the storm. There was that.
It took him a moment, but it probably took them all a moment, and the Elite recovered enough to drop his hands. The cocky look he had prior however was gone, replaced with something more manic, more deranged. He looked up as Gohan spoke, but his dark eyes seemed like hollow voids, his sanity lost somewhere else.
Despite that, Gohan’s words didn’t immediately trigger a new attack, but Vlad’s offering of medical supplies let the man’s gaze twitch.
”Of course it is,” he answered to Gohan, saying this was in fact what he expected, but was staring at Vlad and his offered medkit. ”We’re all expendable if that’s what God deems us.”
Right, as sane as he seemed prior, this guy was part of a cult, and Gohan just didn’t have the charisma needed to break through this almost fugue state that had settled in on him. He seemed to have opened himself up to all the suffering that flooded his brain, and now he didn’t even seem all there.
But he was there enough to lunge at Vlad, stepping in low to try and catch the android off guard as he slammed into the outstretched arm, meant to dislocate it, or at worse, at least cause Vlad to drop the supplies. If he did, he’d make a grab for them, but success or failure, he jumped back with a bit of ki to propel him and tried ‘take two’ of his earlier endeavor.
A pulsing wave of ki expanded out from him, meant to take them out and throw them hard into the caved in wall. This section was more firmly supported however, so it did not cave in, but the Elite fled this time as soon as the attack was unleashed, almost vanishing from his place as he ran at full speed through the tunnels and towards the base Gohan had sensed earlier--the one that had only one power level left.
If they let him get some headway, or merely chose to give him careful chase versus stopping him, they’d eventually reach what had once been a very secure door. This door was now just an opening, as if it had been blown clean off its hinges. Inside was a complete mess. What had once been an orderly base had been completely torn apart as if the storm above had already reached it. Everything was destroyed, at least in part, and the entire area was filled with dead Saiyans.
The power level Gohan sensed was farther into the base, behind walls, and the energy pulsing up one more time as the base shook from some new attack. There was no energy signature for it to be targeting, but that didn’t mean a whole lot.
The Saiyan of course would be completely shell shocked. ”No…” was all he could utter, his face strewn in horror.

As Yua and Lemon pooled their strengths together to try and protect the encampment as best as they could, one would find that those strengths were quite mighty. At the brunt of the attack they were still slammed into, and the blazing heat could be felt burning into their bodies, but for the most part their shield held. Some of the storm invaded the camp, bringing harsh wounds on some of the already wounded humans and Saiyans, and the ones already in bad condition didn’t take it well, meaning some lives were lost, but there was still hope, or there would have been.
At the end, when the storm had flooded through the entire city, many people were saved, but all were hit with the mental effects of the barrier, throwing the entire camp into total chaos as people fell to the ground crying and screaming. Many of the people fell into pure hysterics, and the chaos spread as some people tried to hurt themselves, as others went completely into a fugue. With the suffering of millions pressed into their psyche--well, most of the people here were already dangerously close to their breaking point.
Despite Riki’s best efforts and concentrated will power, something went wrong, as things often do. Maybe the storm had it out for her, maybe it was simply because of how close she was to the nexus of it, but the storm tore the wall of earth she created and into her barrier of will, but the burning pierced through it, the massive force of energy and she was not left unharmed. The vicious winds slammed her against her own walls, and she was a little more worse for wear than she would have liked.
Cauli’s efforts were a bit more fruitful. The shelter she took managed to literally weather the storm, and with Yua and Lemon forming that plasma shield over the camp, she came out completely unscathed.
Now, if she could just get through the mental aspect of it. Riki had offered her some protection from it, likely keeping her from being one of the people trapped in a fugue, but it was still such a heavy pressure on her mind, only it was almost like fuel, all that suffering, just waiting to be unleashed. If she could do anything with it, or about it, at the least she would be able to hear Lemon call out to her.
Hertz went into the water, and as some had found, there was a certain level of protection down in the catacombs with walls and earth to block out the storm. The water served as a similar type of barrier, but it lacked stability, and did send him slamming into the river bank, his chassis taking some damage as the boiling water seared through it, but he came out to the surface in one piece.
Nelgae on the other hand chose to face the storm head on, his hardened shell and thick body having weathered perhaps worse. He kept his position, getting slammed first, then burned, then almost taken up in a tornado gust, but still he held, perhaps due to his thoughts for his queen. He held, and the damage passed over him somewhat lightly.
As both fighters rushed on however, they’d witness something somewhat miraculous, Hertz especially. Thousands, maybe millions of beams had shot out from their intended location and zoomed towards the golems with deadly precision, completely destroying them one by one or in groups, the beams seemingly unending but perfectly targeted. By the end Hertz would have no one to follow, but that didn’t stop him from reaching the boss, nor did it keep Nelgae from making a more calculated approach.
While burrowing under the earth wasn’t super advisable, the children must have completely buried themselves by accident. They moved with all their actions in a reckless dig that piled dirt on top of each other until they were practically buried alive. They had only small pockets of air in the dirt, but the storm crashed above them and seemed to only bleed into the earth. They would feel their skin tingling, Trunks especially who was closer to the top, which became quite painful against their existing wounds. It quickly began to feel like they were surrounded by summer hot asphalt pressing in on them at all sides
Then the energy passed through, and the howling winds of the storm pulled at the loose dirt around them almost uncovering them, and then the gravity seemed to crush them back into the earth. But they were okay, for now.
Inside the storm however the mental effects slammed in on them, sending nauseating waves of anguish through their small bodies. As promised, if they thought the feelings from the Eldritch beast were terrifying, this new feeling went beyond that. It felt like they were trapped among millions of suffering people, dragged along with them through the last moments of their lives, the feelings reflected in their own minds. Fear pulsed through each of them, magnifying the feeling in the two boys. It was enough to freeze the bravest of men in place, to send them sobbing into a fetal position, but the two Saiyans did not have that luxury.
As they surmised, that being, that presence, had definitely risen, and now they could either lay down and cry, and potentially die, or they could go and try and stop it.
Whatever they did, they’d suddenly see something else shooting out from that concentrated energy, as thousands, maybe millions of beams jettisoned out, zooming everywhere including towards them. It was enough for a moment’s panic, but rather than hit them, the blasts hit not too far away from them in bursts. If they investigated this area they’d find that golems were already targeting them again, but it looked like that didn’t matter anymore.

Bulma calmed herself enough to treat the new injuries, thanking Kami that no one had slammed their head in the quake. Mind you, with the existing injuries, such a thing wasn’t at all helpful, but there was no grievous harm to their bodies done this time. Their minds however were a different story as the weaker humans held their heads, tears streaming down their faces. One even curled up in a fetal position, but they were all close enough that Shell could catch everyone in his protective sphere. ”It’s not safe down here anymore,” Bulma told the group who had previously voted to stay below, her eyes fixing on the dripping white light. ”These people will protect us going up. We have no choice.”There were some grunts of resignation, but no one argued and Bulma focused on the sphere Shell formed. She wiped the corners of her own eyes before approaching the edge of it and placing her open palms against the wall of it. The sphere would shimmer, starting from her fingertips as some technology was activated then she’d close her eyes and focus on one more protective covering. Like hands wrapping around the sphere, the protection would not be enough normally, but with the combined efforts… They broke through entirely unharmed. Above however, the negative emotions were enough to make one of the humans vomit, and from the looks of things, finding safety in the barrier was likely now something nonexistent. Bulma made a face at Towa’s suggestion, never one to hide her emotions. She wanted to help. She wanted to fight, but once more she was being pushed into a different position, but she nodded. If no where was safe, they needed someone to protect them, and until Azrael woke up, that would have to be her. Digging into the pouch on her belt however, she approached Shell. ”Here,” she said, offering him a capsule. ”It’s all I can spare, but it might help.”
Ghast’s efforts were gallant, if not over confident. Fighting against the creature’s mental wipe should have taken all his brain matter, but he managed to scrounge together his will to try and…trick the primordial so far all seeing barrier. It laughed at him. He could hear it flooding his senses like he was the one shaking uncontrollably in a fit that could have been a seizure. It laughed, and laughed, but ultimately pulled back. As he screamed there was a feeling like he was simply being let go, and the actual scream sent him tumbling back to the ground, mostly unharmed. He felt a bit dizzy and disorientated, like he had slammed his head into the barrier, while the hands he dug into it were badly burned. But he was in a rush, so he continued to do something else that was brazen. Rather than bunker down as so many others had chosen to, Ghast decided he would avoid the initial slam of the storm and teleport himself directly inside it, defenseless. As he came into being he would feel his skin and body prickle as if it was being burned from all angles, the prickling sensation quickly becoming pain, but that wasn’t really what got him. He reappeared into a field of energy he wasn’t familiar with, and while it was not rushing it was still burning on contact, but only a little. No, the thing that Ghast perhaps should have been prepared for, entering a storm and all that, was getting slammed by a vicious gall of wind. It slammed into his body, throwing him back as he tried to…eat something? and he was quickly engulfed in cutting gusts and heavy gravity that sent him crashing to the ground. But still, that wasn’t the biggest problem, was it? After all, now he was here, at the heart of the storm with the creature who possessed all the power of the barrier. Alone. He was the first to arrive and the first to be targeted. At least he managed to eat the void matter in the end, though, considering what he was hit with in the process, he probably choked quite a bit.

Just as the doctor began to get his bearings again, the waves of pulsating energy seemed to move in such a way as to look like a cheshire smile, before the pillar itself expanded outwards in a rapid flash, meant to slam the doctor as the barrier had failed to. It perhaps wasn’t as powerful as the whole storm but the concentrated energy was enough of a physical force to send Ghast’s unprepared self flying before it tried to completely engulf him in burning energy. Just as the barrier threatened to fry his brain, now it was trying to fry his body. It was a flash, then it returned to normal, and Riki was faced with a giant pillar of raging energy, but Riki really did not care. Her attempts to use the attacks to negate all the golems was actually fairly successful. All throughout the city people would see her dazzling gold energy as it pierced the golem in the chest and caused them to completely fall apart as if their molten core had been destroyed. It was a vicious attack, and the pillar of energy was not spared it either. The explosive piercing beams collided with that pilar of energy, causing the earth around it to tremble, but it wasn’t until she came in like a ramming iron that the pillar seemed to break open, or at least the outer layer of it. As Hertz arrived he would actually be able to see the man inside. He was sitting, his legs crossed, and his hands folded at his chin and looked very much like the Saiyan Prince who had been kidnapped. One of the key differences was that this body was etched head to toe with unreadable runes that looked similar to tribal tattoos. They were actually etched into this body's skin however, cutting into the flesh with a jagged blade over a tiny needle, and the runes themselves seemed to move, fileting the body over and over. The wounds were immediately healed over but left many of them smeared in blood further disrupting the ability to actually read them. The second largest difference was his eyes. They were a glowing purple, and looking into them was like a reflection of the barrier and all its almost infinite power. It was like staring into a glowing abyss of endless energy waiting to erupt as the barrier had, engulfing the entire planet this time, maybe even farther. Those eyes fixed upon them felt like that original eye, unforgiving and utterly piercing, like a thin beam cutting right through their skulls and the pressure was suffocating.[/div] The third was the power he exerted. It was far beyond the original prince, even in his full glory, and almost blinding this close to it. Like a pain pressing in on their senses and completely overwhelming the rest. It was all another trial to fight through just to fight this man. This being. This thing.
Meanwhile the concentrated storm danced around him, pulsing with vicious energy and the fires Hertz’ cow spewed seemed to simply be absorbed, with its bumbling rush was much less effective than Riki's at piercing the next level of this man’s defense. In fact, the concentrated storm seemed to flare to a greeter heat as Yua dove in with a burning strike. The energy seemed to almost churn into her blade, only to swirl into greater concentration as it snapped out at her as a rushing beam of suffocating energy meant to send her flying.
She wanted its attention, and she got it.
The explosions the bug wrought shook the world around him, but the impacts only made the man inside’s eyes narrow. It was close to a flinch, so there was that.
”Such a greeting,” the man said, his lips moving being the only sign because the voice itself seemed to carry over the vicious winds, howling and calm at the same time. ”I suppose I should return it.”
His mouth curled into a smile, and the world changed around them. They were in the storm, in his concentrated aura, and he controlled everything inside it. The very particles in the air were charged at his beckoning and the entire battle field exploded in a rushing wave with no warning. He unclasped his hands, lifting them with palms facing upwards, and all around them the storm swirled into concentrated balls of ki. His fingers curled to his palms and these balls shot like rockets towards the fighters, spinning towards them from all directions and swerving through the air like the storm was sending it on a wild and chaotic path, to ultimately lead to them.

They had made it to the released demon of the sun. It was what had been expected at this point. The Saiyan Prince being captured had been the body that allowed the demon to have a body. The Prince being the host had some semblance of Vegeta’s power of this time, but the power that was released here was clearly much more from the sun demon than the host. Clearly the demon needed a host though and that host needed to be of the royal bloodline. Now it had that, the power to break its seal and possible victims standing before it. Shell and Towa arrived and took note of the others that were here. A strange mixture of individuals around here. The demon goddess recognized the doctor trying to flee and they had already run into Yua before, but others in this situation were clearly seemingly here to fight this released enemy. Shell noted the power of one who had a rather impressive power that he was not expecting to see. No sooner did they arrive though did the demon start to explode with what felt like uncontrolled power. This monster and the body he was in felt unstable. The first couple of power surges seemed targeted, but then the demon released a massive explosion. Shell was quick to summon the sword forth and then slice into the explosion. The wave of slash cutting through the explosion to start, but as the power of the sword flowed, the energy that was coming at Shell was absorbed into the blade and then into his very being to rejuvenate his energy. Meanwhile, the explosion continued to hit all targets around the demon. Towa was quick to react as well, seeing the energy flow around Shell, she gave a loud scream to let the energy cut around her just as it had Shell. Another pulsation of storm energy erupted. The waves that came at them, Shell smashed the sword down into the ground, creating a reverberation of energy around him that dispersed the storm. Towa had felt she would be safe from that, but she was not and the storm crashed into her body. She gritted slightly, the power of the demon obvious, but not deadly at this point. She would be hurt, but not killed and that would simply wake her up and let her know this fight was serious now. Shell looked in the direction of the most powerful new ally they had. The human was shockingly strong according to his senses, but also hurt from previous battles. He extended his arm, a healing wave of energy at the tip of his hand. He spoke, ”I can help and heal some of your wounds.” The Namekian released the energy, trying to use this moment to keep the strongest ally he had as healthy as possible. ”We had a powerful ally that exploded earlier in this event, does anyone have a way to bring him back. The more power we have the better?” She slammed her foot to the ground a wave of energy flowing upwards towards the body, ”I’m going to try to keep the enemy locked down a little.” The tap of her foot caused a strange wave of time energy to erupt around the demonic Saiyan. The flow of energy was meant to trap the demon in a pocket of time for a moment and give the group that was here to take down the force of nature they were facing. Shell saw what she was trying to do and felt it was time to try to throw out some big guns to overwhelm the sun demon. The power of the enemy they were facing making it clear that they needed to really pick up the pace if they wanted to claim victory on this timeline alteration. Even if this was a different way that things happened, the outcome being that the enemy was taken care of would still be achieved and considering how bad this had gone so far, this was something that would at least solve the problem. Shell began to glow with a white energy. The growth in his power clear in that moment as he brought forth the energy he could. His people were mostly a peaceful race, but certain powers that they had did put them in a unique category as far as warriors if they did go down that path. Shell was raised a seer, one that would be much more about healing and guidance than combat, but the fact that he was a descendent of the dragon god himself, made his power much more unique than others of his race. He was both a warrior and a seer. One that could handle problems in several different ways. When you added those two things together and also the divine training he had gone through, he was now on a path that not even he truly understood. The one thing he did know though was that his power still needed a level of control that he wasn’t certain he could manage. He certainly did not wish to tap into the divine destructive power he had learned unless it was necessary. Between that and the button he had as a last-ditch effort, he felt desperate to get this done before his body instinctively resorted to one of those two methods. He was scared to think about what either might actually cause for this timeline. As he gathered his energy, he sent a powerful thrust from the arm with the whip wrapped around it. A wave of energy shot forth, growing into a rope as it looked to circle around the demonically possessed Prince. The attack could be avoided, but once it wrapped the target, it would explode making it impossible to block and hopefully further weaken the sun god and his possessed victim. Seeing Shells attack, Towa nodded, the time trap she hoped worked was only the start. As the monster either stood before the attack of Shell or moved, it gave her a moment to act. She blasted into the air in flight moving towards the demon as energy formed in her hand as well. Then suddenly she vanished, moving behind the target. Either where he was before Shell’s attack went off or where he went. In that moment she released her own version of a trapping ball. One that would hopefully further contain the monster or at least create a situation that would lead to the explosion of the ball to the power emanating from the demon and explode with as much force as she could create in a short period of time. At this point, both Shell and Towa looked to see if they had done any good against this force they were facing. It was hard to know how powerful such a chaotic force was, but they hoped these charged attacks would give them something to judge off if and how to take it down once and for all. They might have failed at solving the cause, but they could at least get to the point where they achieved the mission of stopping the sun demon from being released altogether. While the woman wasn’t as forth coming as he’d like, her words were enough to get his mind churning. She said the timeline had been altered too much, meaning they wouldn’t find Juch where Yan had originally found him. There was someone in this whole mess with the know how and ability to alter their communications, and why she could be lying, the woman was saying it was not her or this place.
He was always fairly good at reading people, and his read of her said she was not lying. She didn’t care about the chaos they caused and seemed instead to be enjoying it, but also chastising them, like they shouldn’t have even bothered to come down here looking for Vegeta after fucking shit up so much. The prince had been rescued here once before, so why, with all these changes to the timeline, would they think he would still be here?
Of course, that was like playing rock, paper, scissors. An opponent played paper so many times the obvious answer was that they’d play paper, but maybe that was the trick and they’d actually play rock, or maybe that was the trick and they’d play scissors. The point of the metaphor was that there was no saying he wasn’t here under the guise of that type of double con, or even triple con. There was no way of predicting whether he’d be here without checking. Anything else would just rot your brain and leave you with more regrets if it was the obvious answer.
There was another clear reason why she wouldn’t be lying. Yan didn’t know what Anna did about the rest of the lab, but figured since she was down here she was with them, and now that the god had risen, she had purposefully pointed out Juch. She had purposefully pointed out the conundrum of so many things changes which meant the safety of his friend. Juch could be in trouble, and if they were aware of that, then maybe, hopefully, they’d go looking for Juch instead of stopping the bug bad sun guy.
Knowing he was probably being tricked ruffled him just a little, but Yan’s priority would always be the people he cared for. There was no trick needed.
Sending them on a wild goose chase wouldn’t help things either. She needed it to be just tricky enough they’d spend too much time on it. She wasn’t saying exactly where but Yan’s guess would be the Saiyan base they had chosen to ignore earlier. It was a little too on the nose, but if it was a base, they’d probably have a grand old time searching it for him.
Again, there was some overthinking to it, looking for that double con, but the way you beat someone in rock, paper, scissors was reading the person and what kind of trickery suited them in their current mood, and the read he got from this woman was that she didn’t care. It didn’t matter to her if they knew the truth of where he was, especially if he was disassembled.
Without knowing her better it came back to that level of regret. If there was still a high probability he was in the obvious place, Yan would be much more annoyed if he skipped looking there first.
There was Anna though. Didn’t she want to save the timeline or whatever? Maybe she got drop him off.
”Can you instant travel to the coordinates of the place we thought was a base?”
Jutters linked with her network, showing her the map again and the coordinate glowing that was on both the communication’s device and Nach’s map. Between the two of them, the also tried to pinpoint and energy signature in that direction, and shared it with Anna if successful.
”Underground,” he added, not really interested in going up to whatever hell that was. That’s where he thought Juch was. If she could he’d offer his hand, forgetting completely about the Saiyan prince, but looking back to the strange woman in black.
”I guess, while we have you, we should probably ask the overshadowing questions of why, and how,” he said to her, smiling again. ”I’m obviously not with whoever’s trying to stop you. If it weren’t for Juch, I might have even been willing to help. Or are you planning to stay a woman of mystery?”

Post by Dr. Ghast on Apr 6, 2024 16:56:39 GMT -5
Evolution PersonifiedLike a wrecking ball... or more precisely being on the wrong end of a wrecking ball and being glued to the damn thing, that was the most apt description of how Ghast experienced what happened almost immediately after he had managed to free himself from the barrier. He could feel his body being battered perhaps not by the most impactful part of the sudden storm of energy rushing through the area, but it nonetheless shook him to his core, blasting his skeletal figure with an enormous amount of energy and crackling electricity to take down a small city in a single go. However, testament to his resilience and his refusal to be taken down so easily after he had gone through such an ordeal with not only the eldritch beast earlier, but also the damn barrier itself, the Doctor was quick enough to regain his bearings after the whole shockwave and the subsequent storm had finally managed to pass, though the air itself was still heavily laden with this strange, unusual energy that the eldritch beast also seemed to utilize. The shadows, the energy within the storm shaped itself into a grin akin to that of C.S. Lewis' wonderful creation of the Cheshire cat, one of Ghast's favorite characters in any fictional writing and now that very smile was more of an alarming sign than anything else. Perhaps the one behind all this had thought the mad scientist to have gone through his entire arsenal or perhaps they thought him to be weak and dimwitted, but the doctor had not used even a bit of his arsenal of techniques and abilities, nor was he even close to being called dimwitted, the opposite even, after all...he was a scientist, a goddamn good one at that. He was a scholar of the highest grade, possessed a calculative mind paired to a decent tactical acuity that could not be underestimated. Over the course of the time spent in this hellhole of a timeline he had already noticed that the eldritch beast and the being in the barrier were similar in many aspects, so it was logical to take that also into account when it came to their respective modus operandi in combat. Conjuring up the First blade in his left hand again, the doctor gripped it as tight as his bruised and burnt skeletal hands allowed him to do, slamming the modified oxen jawbone forwards into the oncoming storm of expanding energy, as he forced the ancient weapon to funnel all the incoming energy into the doctor himself while converging it into much more usable energy rather than the strange negative energy which had been running rampant in the vicinity. "No...just no, I'm seriously contemplating just utterly annihilating what's behind all of this tomfoolery and childish, bullish behavior."As soon as he said those words, the doctor's senses tingled, before the mutation which had given him his form started to show serious signs of hesitation and frustration, as if it was trying to force the mad scientist to flee. His body started to warp and wriggle in various places, bony appendages jutting out of his back and trying to clamber backwards despite the doctor's adamant desire to stand against and understand that which was responsible for the whole ordeal he'd gone through. And when finally, his mind connected to the large crimson demonic eye on the center of his skull, he could finally glimpse that which had made his own body start refusing his will and desires. "Well I'll be damned, that's a saiyan allright, but with a whole lot of shit wrong...or rather..."Despite the quite enormous power, the menacing nature of this revealed central figure, the doctor had to admit that in a way...it was all rather elegant. "One could think it's a parasitation upon the saiyan, an invading creature trying to use it as a host...or it is simply evolution brought forth violently...whatever the reasoning, the means and the process, I have to begrudgingly admit that the endresult is especially interesting."However, even in his moment of admiration and acknowledgement, the mad scientist realized that perhaps it was best not to completely lose himself in another faulty chase after a possible specimen. With this in mind, it was much easier to not just spot, but also sense the danger coming in the form of yet another shockwave of negative energy which was clearly meant to take out everything and anything once again, a tactic that was starting to annoy the doctor quite a bit, for it somehow seemed to be the whole schtick of everything he'd encountered so far... Slapping his chest with his right hand, a sudden light shone from within his torso, drawing in the violent energy coming from the sudden shockwave sent out by the strange, evolved (?!) saiyan. Not a moment too soon though, for he could use the extra bits of additional energy to top up his own reserves. Ghast was feeling both miffed at the idea of playing on the defensive again, but this time it was good that he was far from the only one capable of holding their own in a situation like this. To deal with the somewhat less impressive volley of blasts coming his way and into the direction of all the others, the doctor raised his right hand and conjured the faithful blade, a thin, silver shortsword into the aforementioned blade and started to channel his energy through it, forcing the weapon to vibrate at a high frequency as utilized it to utterly deflect, destroy and dissipate each orb of energy coming from the saiyan into his own direction, letting out a grunt and a sigh at the same time when he could feel the pain in his hands worsen due to the vibration effect. "Next stage...yes, let's take up the next stage just to have a better shot at taking this...interesting subject down..."Taking in a deep breath, the doctor closed the demonic eye upon his skull-head, his own eyes fully closing as well, when in a sudden move, all three opened and his crimson energy and his blue original started to manifest themselves as purple energy as well, a shade darker for those to actually notice it and much less dense than that of the saiyan prince, but nontheless still somewhat impressive, for under the influence of this newfound energy, the doctor's skeletal body started to be covered by flesh, by skin, by rows of teeth in the wrong places and eyes as well, the form very much akin to the eldritch beast of before, though his form now, at the end of the change was at the very least humanoid, adorned with a recognisable face and despite the malformations looking not that out of the ordinary in comparison to the saiyan prince. "Now..." Letting out a deep sigh, Ghast smiled faintly, spreading out his eyes and allowing the two weapons he had been holding previously to vanish once more, only to vanish from his own spot as well, finding himself much closer to the strangely powerful saiyan prince, opening the maw at the center of his chest and spewing out a dozen of thin, strong threads of energy which spun around the strange Vegeta's location with the clear intent of wrapping him up like a spiders' victim. It seemed to take an eternity, but at long last the shockwave passed and Cauli wasted no time exiting her den in search of her friends. In fact, she might have been a little too hasty as the energy from the storm erupted throughout the area once more as she was moving to exit the carpark. Fortunately she hadn't quite joined the field of battle yet and so the tempestuous bakuhatsuha didn't quite reach her. As she moved into the light once more, the overwhelming pressure of the energy weighed down upon her once more. Riki's barrier was holding and Cauli found herself shifting her own mental defences to the task of keeping that barrier shored up. The last thing she wanted to do was be a liability again.
As she emerged, she heard Lemon's voice asking after her.
"I'm here," she said, "I'm feeling a lot better now, whatever you guys did seems to have helped."
She looked towards the battle, the bad guy are the centre unrecognisable to her as Saiyan royalty. What did strike her as familiar; however, was his runic tattoos. Her mental capacity was too limited and the sigils themselves far too messy for her to be able to read anything, especially at this distance but it was noteworthy that he too bore the markings of being something more than what he was when he started.
Riki was facing off against the Saiyan, along with a half dozen other fighters, including her friend Towa.
"I'm going to try and help out," Cauli said, "its the least I can do." Cauli waited a moment to give Lemon a chance to follow and before entering the fray. As she moved towards her new friend, several beams of energy crackled out from the Saiyan towards the multitude of fighters arrayed around him. Cauli increased her speed, her hex blade emerging from nowhere in her hand as the rune on her wrist began to glow. She anticipated the path of the beam, recognising that it was following the flow of the energy that affecting her so much. Timing her run, she interceded just in time to prevent the beam from striking Riki. It pinged harmlessly into the ground following its ricochet off her blade's dark side.
"Sorry I'm late," she said, trying to smile in spite of her discomfort.
Cauli closed the gap quickly, attempting to seize the initiative to give Riki a chance to regroup and match her attack. Keeping her feet planted but nimble, Cauli lashed out with a front kick straight at the Saiyan's chest. She snapped the kick back quickly, aiming to do damage while keeping her body moving. With such a large array of fighters here, she would need to be constantly moving to ensure that she didn't get accidentally shot in the back by some well-meaning, would be ally. As she pivoted to slide to the Saiyan's left side, Cauli thrust her hex blade at his shoulder blade. She knew that it wouldn't break the skin, he would be far too powerful for that, but if she caused enough discomfort it might slow him down sufficiently for the other fighters to score some decent hits.
